Class Assignment:

30 minutes of music (with 1 singer, an acoustic guitarist and keyboard player), followed by a 20 minute talk where 1 person will be speaking and showing a video on their laptop (the laptop can be positioned by the mixing desk).

Identify what you will need to connect/the channels required on the mixing desk and write a draft list of the cables and kit you need to take.

For the 30m Music Session will need 

·       Mixer Board

·       One Microphone

·       3 xlr cables for

1)      Vocalist -into channel 1 (from mic to mixer- female end on mic? Male end to mixer?)

2)      Guitarist-into channel 2 (will need also need DI box which will connect guitar to mixer with ¼ jack cable)

3)      Keyboard player-into channel 3  (3&4 if using the pan)

 

 

 

For the 20 m speaking event will need

·       Mixer Board

·       One microphone

·       Phono cables

·       Laptop

 

1)Connect microphone into channel 1 on mixer  with xlr cable

2)Connect laptop into the headphone connection on the mixer with phono cable that has jack on one end and red and white connectors on the other

 

What to pack-

·       Mixer board

·       3xlr cables (always carry extra-in case)

·       1 microphone (more if people do not like to share LOL)

·       DI box

·       ¼ jack cables (at least one)

·       Set of headphone cables

·       Laptop
