Lovely to start afresh in the New Year with the cute little duckling. Out of my comfort zone to really master the soft fluffy hair, so I need to take much longer time. Really thanks to Evgenia providing the sketch, and I can focus on the painting process.

The hardest part was to create the overlapping hair texture just on top of the terracotta pot where the duckling is sitting. 

I struggled but there was a personal reminder in me - to always paint any animal with my affection, and my hope that our animals would be treated with kindness and love. This duckling is another reminder for me in my wildlife collection 💕
