Windows and shadows

I had a fun time painting this, thank you! I had never practiced gradients before so that was something fun to learn and practice. I understsand now how keeping the bead going can help me avoid hard edges. I still managed to create one on the wall but it turned into a bit of a happy accident as I liked the texture it created. I ended up adding some dry brush marks as well on the wall and the stone, I don't know, the wall felt old to me haha.

Thank you for explaining the concept of shadows so well! Those shutters looked intimidating, particularly in the sketch phase where all there is are lines... It gets confusing but it was nicely broken down. I really love how you placed the shadow on the window from the stone wall, probably my favourite phase in the painting, it created instant depth, magic!

I wish I had planned out the flowers a bit more. I thought I could wing it haha, but I went too dark too fast and lost the freshness. It also looks like the flowers are on top of the planter rather than in it and coming out of it... I missed something on the perspective there... but oh well, thoughts for next time!

Thanks again!
