Our project for this class is to complete this watercolour Strawberry painting.

1. After watching this class, find all the necessary documents provided for this project under "Resources" tab. Download them.

2. Go through the material list I provided and make sure you have all the necessary tools to start your project.

3. Print a line drawing and transfer it onto your stretched watercolour paper. If you don't know how to do that, please go to my first Skillshare course "Botanical Watercolor Painting: Learn to Paint Watercolor Iris Bud | Step By Step" and find a lesson about transferring a drawing onto a watercolor paper or how to stretch a paper.

4. Prepare your needed pigments on to the palette and try mixing some colours. If you don't have exact pigments, simply try to google for their closest match and see if you have them in your stock.

5. Projects starts with wet on wet techniques, so if you are not familiar with this technique I would suggest drawing a few strawberries on to the page ant try this technique a few times until you fell like you can control it before working on your main painting. If you are not familiar with watercolour techniques, I would highly recommend that you would first check my skillshare course dedicated mainly to basic watercolour techniques, as this project is for more advanced artists. The course is called "Master Main Basic Botanical Watercolor Techniques".

6. Once you practised your techniques, you can start painting the underlayer and let it completely dry.

7. Once the underlayer is dry, you wet the paper again ant apply your main red colours, and now you have your foundations ready.

8. After your foundation layers are done, closely fallow the tutorial and start painting your detail. Remember from now on, we keep our brush and pigments much dryer than when painting with wet on wet technique. Now the painting style resembles drawing. First, we start defining the seeds and the surrounding shadow.

9. Then we paint in the rest of the strawberry, leaving the tiny highlights above the seed dimples.

10. Now we see that we have our seeds white, and it is time to paint those in.

11. Now that the main body of the strawberry is painted, all we need is deepen the shadow areas and balance the tonal values. So basically darken all the areas that are still lacking colour using dry brush technique.

12. And finally, if you got this far, then painting those leaves will be a breeze for you. We will paint them in 2 layers, starting with wet on wet technique and finishing just with glazing and dry brushing. And don't forget to lift some veins off of the main leaf for some detail.
