The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

For this redesign, I wanted to capture the glamour, mystery, and emotional depth of Evelyn Hugo. I chose a rich emerald green fabric as the focal point because it’s instantly recognizable from the story and symbolizes Evelyn’s beauty, wealth, and the persona she so carefully crafts for the public.
By only revealing part of her face, I created a sense of intrigue — a reminder that Evelyn only ever shows the world what she wants them to see. The gold typography was intentional too; it brings in that old Hollywood elegance while still feeling modern and minimal.
Overall, my goal was to create a cover that doesn’t just illustrate the story, but embodies Evelyn herself — bold, seductive, and full of secrets.
