Fashion Illustration- The Sketch

Hi Cassie! Great to meet you here, and thanks for posting your thoughtful project and comments! It's helpful to see your process with the template as well as your finished sketches. Your proportions are looking great. I too prefer the 9-point figure in general. It feels more true to life, so I relate to it a lot more. #1 Figure: The hips are positioned perfectly, plus I love the unfinished lines on the arms and hair. Adds a bit of mystery and flare. #2 Figure: You nailed the curve of the body! You could consider adding some unfinished curved lines for the hands as an option here (like you did in #1). The feet are quite a bit larger in proportion to the head, but I like it. That's exactly how it would look if had a view from below the runway. Your faces are great in both too! Yes, the Uneven Pose is really tricky and is meant to be an advanced challenge, but I'm so glad you are tackling it. One thought that could help you unravel this one, is to see her body in as an S curve, as opposed to a C curve (like in your #2 figure). I hope this helps, but please let me know if I can give you more details on this one! A couple of things that might make your 10-point figure a bit more balanced is:1) Make her neck skinnier and lower the right shoulder so it's is longer. 2) A. Either enlarge her head slightly (so her face is taking up the full top section, with her hair just above it. Or B. Make her entire body thinner to match the head. Otherwise, you did a fantastic job on the 10-point! It's not easy, because as I mentioned, it's harder to relate to as real human proportions. 10-point is considered more of a stylized version of the fashion illustration, but some do very well with it. I definitely prefer 9 point sketches! 10 feel too big. The odd pose shape’s head really confused me
