RecipeShare

RecipeShare - student project

Real recipes. From real people. All in one place.

Recipeshare is a user-generated recipe-sharing platform.

Our Mission

To create the largest database of family recipes in the world

How does it work?

1. Create your profile

2. Write and publish the recipe on the website

3. Share your recipe (via a link in an email or text; via social media platforms)

Other users can see and share your recipes. They can write comments, sharing how they have enjoyed and adapted your recipes.

Our Vision

To cook up a wholesome corner of the internet

Our Story

Every year in December, my mother takes out her handwritten recipe book and makes the Christmas Pudding recipe passed down from her mother.

I thought: “What a shame if these family recipes were lost to time!” And so RecipeShare was born.

You might ask “Why would I give away my family’s secret recipe for free?” The world is changing fast and culinary techniques are being lost to time.

RecipeShare is here to preserve recipes for future generations.

These recipes are not created by influencers following the latest food trend or Michelin-star trained chefs in a restaurant. These are recipes by real people for real people.

Our Values

Sharing

Sharing helps us find new and better ways, whether it’s a cook sharing that extra ingredient that they add to a recipe that makes it pop or one of our website developers sharing a cool new idea in a meeting. All ideas are welcome. Because sharing is at the heart of what we do, the website will be simple to use for anyone at any age. It’s the gooey chocolate centre of who we are and what we do.

Caring

Recipeshare cooks are sharing something that’s extremely personal to them, so their recipes are treated with the upmost care and attention - like they’re a member of our own family. That is why all recipes and comments go through content moderation before they are posted on the website.

And because we care, we ask for a minimal amount of personal data to set up an account. We don’t share any of this data with any third party websites and we take great steps to protect this data.

Family favourites. Preserved forever. For everyone

Brand Positioning

Cook-centric

The cooks who share their recipes on our platform are the focus of the Recipe-share family - they are the stars of the show!

Authentic and personal

Our users are home cooks who necessarily know the technical culinary terms or have fancy expensive equipment at home.

When RecipeShare makes public statements on our website or on social media, we talk like a regular person, avoid using jargon and try not to overcomplicate things.

For each external communication or blog post, RecipeShare will not be a nameless faceless company - the person who created the communication will be credited. Our Assistance is never automated. We will have real humans replying, never robots.
