Sketchbook for a Week

I watched this class while I was on vacation and decided to do a sketch a day to help remember the special moments. I brought my sketchbook and sketch materials to the beach every single day, however, I never used it (because I was trying to be present in the moment and enjoy my time with my family) But, each night I did make a sketch based on photos I took during the day in Procreate, so not sure if they really count for this class…

This class did really did inspire and encourage me to make the sketches so I will share them here — thank you, Jesse!

  1. What was the most difficult part of this project?
The most difficult part of this project was finding the time to sketch and doing it in real time. Also, I felt conspicuous sketching in public and wanted to participate in what was going on around me and also to just chill out and relax rather than sketch
  2. What was the easiest?
I found it was easier to do the sketches on my iPad with Procreate on the couch from photos after the fact. Not sure if that is legit or not…
  3. How likely is it that this will become a permanent fixture in your daily life?
I really like the idea of sketching on the go and would like to try to do a sketch a day. It is a nice way to commemorate the special or interesting moments in my life and also a great way to practice my drawing and procreate skills. I may make a blurb book out of these images to keep them grouped and have an easy way to view them as a keepsake of my vacation. I would like to hand draw and paint in an actual sketchbook though, too.
