A first attempt at inky collage animals

Thank you, Rebecca, for getting me all the way through a project!

I loved working in this way with ink and paper. The smaller animals were unsuccessful, partly because of their shape but mostly due to my choice of papers without enough contrast. (I know, I was warned about this and still fell into the trap.) I'll keep experimenting.

Rebecca's animals are a lot less self-consciously drawn and I deeply regretted those spindly deer legs when it came to cutting time! Next time, bolder, simpler and rougher with more contrast in the papers.

It's a very good way to work quickly and I think it's nicely suited to a children's illustration project.

Thank you so much for the ideas and guidance.
