Although your class says to use real ink and paper, I decided to try my hand at doing this in Photoshop.  I have to say I think it came out pretty neat.  I will work on developing different marks and ink stains digitally for different effects.  I just inked different layers, then used the lasso tool to trace out different shapes.  I grouped the layers together and also created a drop shadow layer effect for each layer.
