I used Wix to make my blog. Although it does cost a yearly subscription to get a domain, it is amazing in how much customization and types of sites you can make. I particularly love that I can put videos as backgrounds. Even though it will eventually have to be paid for, it does offer a lower subscription price than I had paid a few years back by about a hundred dollars less, so around $200.
