The Writer’s Toolkit 2: Find Your Voice & Avoid Mistakes That Ruin a First Book

I will start with a statement that I like writing but generally hate reading. I know this is contradictory. So I didn't read much to compare. In my parents and my library I found three books I hate and three books I love. Most are translated into Serbian (my home language) so I probably translated my text poorly, sorry to the authors. I will update the list once I have read more.
Project:
Take ten books I like and ten books I don't like. Then rewrite their first page.
Books I don't like:
- Iris of the World by Robert Dzordan
Dragons Cave
There was peace. Peace in dust, peace in quietness of halls, peace in death. There were some resistant to that peace. The occasional earthquake in the palace was fighting that peace, as did Lijus. He ran the peaceful halls yelling: "My wife, where are you? Where is everybody?" The answer he did not get. His steps got used to the earthquake of the palace and his big gray cloak bushed corpses lying all around. Blooded boots and dust in his brown-gray hair didn't bother him. Lijus Terin Telamon needed to find his wife. Light stabbing in the shoulder made him stop and look at his brooch, beautiful round ornament, black and white colors divided by an elegant wavy line. It meant something. But that doesn't matter now.
2. Old man Gorio by Onore de Balzak
In Paris, Nev-Sent-Zenevjev street, there was a house. Madam Voker owned her and lent it to many people, young and old. But young people rarely rent it, unless they are short on money. But in the year 1819 there lived one young poor girl.
3. Everything is alright by Jasminka Petrovic
I didn't want to lock you. Locking is for items and not people. I thought going to the grocery store would be quick. Just to get the shampoo and back. But I met Lana, and she talked too much. After I got away from her endless stories, I entered the shop and there was endless traffic. I should ask somebody to let me go before them. I should, but I stayed quiet. The shopkeeper took endless time to finish examining the shampoo and giving me the bill. The elevator took endless time to move, to close the door and get up. When the doors opened on our floor, I saw the flat door also already open. I knew you were gone. I took too long. I should have asked somebody to let me go before them, but I stayed quiet.
Books I like:
- Hamlet by William Shakespeare
First Part
Francisko was freezing. Night is too cold to be standing in one place and guarding the palace entrance. he trried moving, walking left and right, when he heard: "Who is there?" "Good, you came on time." "Of course." - answers other guard - "The clock is about to strike midnight, go to sleep friend. But before you go, was there trouble on your watch?" "No, no, just cold..." said Francisko. "Then as you go, if you see Horacije or Marcelo, thell them to hurry up." - now Bernardo is standing in his place. "Will do, I think I hear them..."
2. Seven witches one wedding dress by Eva Ibotson
It was a happy and strange day for family Nagrizlo, they got a baby boy. But unlike other babies, he already had teeth, and was ready to eat and bite. He would scream every time his diaper was changed, and that scream was ear-piercing. Even though he screamed, he never cried. When they got him home and set fire to warm themselves, smoke would go against the wind. It was all too strange, but the father knew that for everything there was an explanation, so he went to Tamnilov city library and began reading.
3. The Witcher - The last wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
She entered the room. Her mantle brushing against her bare skin, dropped on the floor, as she got close to the bed. Man on it didn't betray his wakefulness. She climbed on top of him, wrapped her legs around him and impatiently touched his eyes and mouth with her breasts. He was enjoying her scent, that of the chamomile. But when he opened his eyes he saw, hers, big, round and black, eyes of a water nymph. She moved her hips awaiting his response, he responded.
