T. S. - What I Thought Happiness Was, But Wasn't.

5 Things I Thought Would Make Me Happy...but Didn't 

1. Finishing College 

2. Living in a Big Home

3. Having Kids 

4. A Fancy Car

5. Losing a Lot of Weight (it Helped, but I keep Making my Goal Smaller so I am still 'unhappy' with the number on the scale...and I love food so it's a constant battle)

 

I feel I find happiness when my mind is quiet. I had only brought it up to a group of friends once in my life, and it seemed like they didn't quite understand. So I dismissed it. It was while doing Yoga and Meditating. It was so peaceful because I was in the here and now, the present. I wasn't anxious about the future or saddened thinking on past traumas and experiences. I have been trying to find that quietness in my practices. But as it was mentioned in the lesson, I may be trying too hard to 'grab at it' and it keeps fleeting. It needs to come naturally.
