Hi Matt, thanks for taking the time to post up these sketches! I think the 3/4 head drawing looks pretty solid, and while the front facing head is a little on the thick side like you mentioned, everything is still aligned in the features which people have a hard time doing sometimes. I think for the front facing head, if you started with the outside shape first, the features just got a little small and compressed as you moved through the drawing. It most likely started with the spacing of the eye sockets and perhaps you matched everything else off of those. The easiest way to fix this would actually be to move the outside lines in closer to features so that it essentially resizes the head to the features. The only drawback is that you may end up with a smaller drawing than intended. My only critique of the 3/4 head is that perhaps the ear feels a little large. The placement and alignment of the features is good in this drawing however. I might only reinforce the lines on the bridge of the nose to show better overlap and so the far eye socket recedes in space better. Otherwise this sketch is off to a great start! Thanks again for sharing, and if you do any more sketches I'd love to see them!

This is great feedback, thanks! I'll take another shot at the front-facing view and will reluctantly try a 3/4 with smaller ears :-)
