Poetic Journey: 7 Days

Poetic Journey: 7 Days - image 1 - student project

Day 1:  I believe being loved teaches us our worth. Loving others teaches us empathy, patience, forgiveness, and growth. Love challenges us to be better, softer, stronger, and more understanding. As I pondered what love truly is, this is what came to my heart.

Love Makes Us Whole

Love begins in the quiet chambers of the heart, not loud, not proud,
but steady as a pulse beneath the skin.

It is a deep affection, for a person, a dream,
a place that feels like home.

Love is good. It rises like morning light
through the smallest cracks of doubt,
bringing hope where shadows once lived.

It teaches our hands to be gentle, our words to be kind,
our spirits to be patient. In love, forgiveness blooms,                                                                                soft as spring after a bitter winter.

To love is to care without counting the cost,
to give without fear of judgment, to open the soul
and say, this is who I am.

Love is endearment in its purest form,                                                                                                               a warmth that wraps around broken edges
and makes them whole again.

It gives meaning to ordinary days, turns moments into memories,
and reminds us that even in a world of uncertainty,
the heart still knows the way.

Day 2- Watching the sun sink slowly reminds me that the day has ended. It is a quiet pause, a gentle closing, a chance to reflect on what has passed and to simply be present in the fleeting beauty of now.

Sunset Whispers                                                                                                                                               The horizon blazes with pinks and golds,
purples melting into night.

My heart lingers on each fleeting color,
each moment the sky remembers to shine.

The sun slips slowly down, a quiet reminder
that the day has ended, that time moves,
that beauty, even brief, is enough to hold us.

And in the fading light, I feel both loss and promise
that darkness comes,  but tomorrow will bring a new glow.

Day 3: I love spending time with my cat. Their presence is quietly comforting, a steady joy that fills the spaces of my home. The way they follow me from room to room, curious and gentle, makes even ordinary moments feel special. Being with them reminds me that joy can be found in small, shared moments — in the rhythm of breathing together, in the gentle brush of fur against my hand, in the silent love that doesn’t need words.

At My Feet

They follow me softly,
a shadow of trust.

Curled at my feet at night,
they breathe calm into my heart.

In their quiet presence,
happiness blooms,
simple, small, complete.

Day 4: There is something quiet and soothing about the first cup of coffee in the morning. I love holding the warm mug in my hands, feeling the gentle steam rise, and taking that first sip — smooth, rich, and comforting.

Morning Magic

Steam dances from my cup,
curling, swirling, waking me up.

Sip by sip, the world blinks bright,
soft morning light, my first delight.

Smooth and warm, a tiny hug,
liquid joy in a cozy mug.

Birds outside, the day begins,                                                                                                                        but I’m sipping bliss, grinning like a kid within.

Day 5:  Waking up can be hard some mornings. As I roll out of bed, I sometimes wonder why I do this at all — why I head out to work day after day. Then reality sets in: bills must be paid, responsibilities cannot wait.

Alarm vs. Me

The alarm screams, “Rise!”
I groan, “No, not today.”
Coffee in hand, I fight my fate,
and somehow make it anyway.

Day 6:  The Blue Haven

My favorite blue chair waits for me, inviting me to sit and enjoy the outdoors. It is cozy and comfortable, a small haven where I can relax and let my mind wander. As I listen to the birds singing, my thoughts become creative, flowing into writing and drawing. In this simple spot, I can make cool and wonderful work, feeling both inspired and at peace.

Day 7: Reflection on Life-I love life—it can be truly fun. There’s joy in the simplest things, like the fresh scent of morning air or the gentle breeze brushing across my face. Life can be fascinating if we allow ourselves to experience it fully. I am constantly amazed that God created me, and in that creation, I find endless reasons to be grateful. Every moment, even the small ones, holds wonder and possibility. When I pause to reflect, I realize that the gift of life itself is extraordinary, and every breath is an opportunity to celebrate it.

Simple Wonders

Fresh air, gentle breeze,

Life’s small joys put me at ease.

God made me, here I shine,

Every moment feels divine.
