Thank you for sharing your work, Katherine! Your line work is really strong here, I especially love how you’re handling the light within the glass bottles. There’s a nice sense of depth in the way you’ve built up those highlights. I’d also love to hear more about the inks in your still life. Thank you, Ira! I tried a couple of different things for the glass bottles, particularly the bottoms. I’m glad the sense of depth came through. The Ferris Wheel Press ink is one I discovered when I was given it as a gift. I really like their colors, particularly some of the lighter ones like this peach.  They’re water soluble, but for what I’ve been using them for that’s good.  I’ve been carrying around a little 3.5x5.5 sketchbook, a couple of fountain pens, and a water brush to play with sketches and and going over some of the lines with water to spread ink for shading or drawing onto a slightly damp sketchbook page to let the ink bleed. Not archival, but I’ve been wanting to experiment with using archival inks for some linework and the water soluble inks to play with the colors and water.

One of the pens I've been carrying around with my mini sketchbook, along with two inks I've been using lately.
