This was such an awesome class - so thorough and just really enjoyable!!
I started with my sketches - about 6 pages of them.

I scanned each page with a scanner and fine-tuned in Photoshop.

I then brought the motifs in to Illustrator and live-traced them. Once I pulled out the motifs that looked pretty good together, I started to build bouquets with the pieces. Copying, rotating, etc... until I got about 9 different ones.

This is an extra step, but I knew I wanted to use these motifs in other projects: I brought each live-traced bouquet in to Photoshop and re-created them with my original line-drawing motifs. I then exported each one to a PNG.

Next, I exported my repeat tiles and opened in Photoshop. First the Filled Shapes layer, and then the Outline Layer used for a guide.

Next, I pulled in the PNG bouquets I exported earlier, one by one, and masked off any areas that I didn't want an outline.
And here's the finished repeat!

Lastly, another color way and texture added!
