Hi everybody! here’s my animal portrait. It’s a king vulture (Sarcoramphus papa), which by the way is my current favourite bird since i saw a few in a zoo last year. 

This class helped really me organize and plan my drawing much more than i ever did. I often just grab any color that i want to use, regardless of the medium. So yes, i get stuck sometimes, like when the medium i want to use just doesn’t adhere to the layer below. Thank you Kendyll for this very helpful class!

 

For the portrait i used quite a few different mediums. Markers and color pencils for the base drawing, especially for the neck part. Goauche and acrylic gouache as the next layers, then color pencils and finally gel ink and ink pens for the hairy details :) The paper is a very smooth Canson Bristol XL.
