Cardinal
I really got into swatching my materials and even made a little printable template for myself. Unfortunately, this meant I was limited to a substrate my printer could accept. I learned from this mistake, re-swatched on 300 gsm watercolor paper, and completed my project on that substrate.

For my project I painted a red cardinal, my mother's favorite bird. Below is the drawing process:

Sketch in Mungyo Gallery watercolor crayon

Laying down color with Staedtler karat aquarell watercolor pencil

Blending out with water brush

Building up the drawing and adding the final details with Faber-Castell Polychromos and fine-point Posca paint pen
