Birkshire Property Group

My thought process in designing this may have been a bit unorthodox, but here goes...  the brief mentioned that the company wanted to be known for improving the communities that they invest in.  How do you typically improve properties?  If it is already existing, it usually involves cleaning it up, or putting on new siding, windows, etc.  New buildings usually get landscaping, etc.  Clean made me think of shiny or sparkly and that made me think of diamonds.  I didn't want to use a faceted diamond shape because that would look too much like a jeweler.  So I went with the more simple diamond shape.  It occurred to me that if I used several and intertwined the shapes, it would look similar to when people link their arms together, which could evoke a sense of community.  The colors are a nod to the new/shiny/sparkly aspect.  The blue background color and font color is used to evoke trust.

My second concept used the first letters in the company name of BPG.  The lower curve of the B serves as the top of the P and then the G evokes the end of a key.   Keys serve as a symbol of  property ownership or home.
