Watercolor Mixing Based on Pigment Properties

I did a similar triad but used Burnt Sienna in place of Mauve. I love how yours came out! I might actually try this at some point

I was also drawn to your uncoventional triad. Stunning work! Out of curiosity, which brand of paints do you work with?

For this triad I use Cotman watercolours in tubes made by Windsor &amp; Newton.Even though it's their student quality, they are well pigmented and the consistency is great. I also have a few tubes of Holbein ( I particularly like their sep green), and Steadler . I also love Dr. PH Martin watercolour inks. For professional quality I use Stevenson's (a Canadian company) their green-gold is out of this world. I sometimes use Windsor &amp; Newton designer gouache that I dilute and sometimes I use watercolours thick like gouache. It all depends what I'm experimenting with. Here in Montreal I saw advertised a set of about 20 pan watercolour set by pebeo. It comes in a round pallet. It looks so yummy and fun to use. I think I will buy myself a set for Christmas! :-)

What an interesting colour mixing project!
