Soft Yellow Duckling Portrait - Learn To Paint Soft Down And Hair

My first duckling!
Thank you Evgenia! It was a great peasure painting cute baby duck!
I have to paint 2 other projects.
It was a good practise painting fur and also figuring out anatomy of a bird!
I first did a sketch, it helps me to uderstand what is going on. It is like planning what to do. It is usually takes me almost an hour, because of small ajustments here and there.
Painting took me another hour, especially furry feathers in the front, I was going with the paint and water back and forth.
Also I didn't wait enough and my pot didn't dry, so I got stripes on it when I was adding shadows.
I will practice more in other lessons and hopefully learn be more patient and observe how water, paint and paper interact.
I will post more paintings tomorrow!
Brilliant teaching! Love your sweet ducklings! They are so alive and adorable!
And thank you for the lesson on hair texture!
Final painting #1
Duckling #2
The fuzzy one!
It is so much to learn and to practice!
Thank you Evgenia! It is alot of fun to create fluffy cuteness with you!
Project #3
Pretty girl. Was drawing tonight and will paint later. I'm so slow :D
Finally I painted portrait! It was really fun! Thank you for the tip with wet towel!
It really made whole process easy and smooth. I used to struggle with paper drying too fast.
This time it didn't dry and still was a bit absorbent. I started with orange and red layer, then added highlights and then the shadows. Also painted the face, and I was pleased how well everything blended.
Great lesson Evgenia! I love your classes and admire your art! I rewatch lessons a few times for better understanding of the steps.
I look forward learning from your feauture classes!
