The Webcomics Challenge: How to Create Stylized Characters

This is super cool, your characters look amazing, I'm not sure if I could ever make it to your level. BTW. not that I'm an expert on Japanese culture, but are some of these inspired by creatures and masks from that same Culture? Because that's what I was thinking of when I saw this. Anyway Nice one and Keep up the good work :D

So I just started the class, and I was looking through some of the projects.  Yours stood out to me because I've always been a huge fan of the boxy/sharp look for faces and bodies and stuff.  I applaude you! Anyway, I was wondering.  How did you get to that?  For the heads I mean.  Did you start by using ovals and whatnot?  Or octagons?  Or did you start with the circles like how Kienan shows? Also, do you have a deviantart or something?

Hey , hello thanks for the comment =) Actually I always start my faces, most of the time with a square for that style , and then I build on top. But yeah I mainly use really sharpy shapes most of the time , and then I round them out or not depending of what feeling I wanna give.Also , you already found my facebook page ahahah =) Everything is there

For sure man!  Hmm, I had considered using a square (as well as other shapes), but I was hesitant to try it.  Not terribly sure why though.  Yeah, I noticed a link in a comment below.  Good stuff.

These characters are so packed with personality and beauitfully drawn. I can't wait to see what you do with them next.

Your art style is so expressive! It makes your characters have a lot of personality. I’m very interested to see where this goes.

I really like the characters you've made.  There's a lot of variation in the head shapes and eyes which is neat to see!

Hey Ash, Superb stylized! I like the exaggerated hands and expressions, also the circled shapes on the knees, cheecks, elbows and niples are a simple and unique selling point of reminding your style. Goodjob :)

Oh! I thought when you got to the colored refs done you were going to stop or move on for now. Showed me what for. I'm diggin' this style and the characters. they shows a lot of personality in them. I'm really looking forward to seeing more from you!

Hmmm...About the color. Do you think the choice of color is okay ? The two characters have the same tone of color for the skin , do you think this will affect visibility in my future comic ?I want the " sandy " effect on the color, like an overall warm feeling , but maybe this can change too.i guess I also need to put my guys on a BG to see if the color really works...What do you think ? Don't hesitate to say anything =][ sorry if I did any misspelling, English is not my first language ]

Hey Ash, I think the similar color on the skins is fine,  I would try making the shadows on the skin areas have more red in them (makes them look more lively) Also I personally wouldn't worry about the characters blending into the BG, I will show you some pointers in the next lesson. I really like the bright colors of their hair btw

I love these so much! You've got an amazing style; I love how all the faces look different, but I feel like they work together well. I also really like the bodies you've done, I love the middle one! ^_^
