This a very fun study, Evgenia! I love the girl's portrait. It is full of joy and light!

 

I did study in graphite and in pastels on toned paper.

I added a bit of charcoal at the end to show the cintrasts.

I love that you explained how to make light pop by adding darker tone around it's area.

That's an interesting class and very useful too! 

This kind of study and exploration of a subject I wish I did for every watercolor project. Because after shading portrait in graphite it was so much easier to do it in color. I am sure it is not exactly accurate how I drew it but I love the result and it was a great pleasure learning from you as always!
