How are we capable of reinventing ourselves?

People change naturally throughout their lives. An individual's personal beliefs, values, goals, relationships, and their sense of identity can develop. However, not every change that an individual makes is reinvention. People constantly experience ordinary changes every day, and reinvention is a more conscious decision in reshaping an aspect of an individual's current self, while still not erasing who that individual once was. An individual can still have the same values, and core beliefs, yet still having a different perception of who they are and who they can become. Humans can reinvent themselves in multiple ways, but reinvention comes from purposeful action of rewiring internal choices and external influences. It does not erase the past self of an individual but rather allows an individual to become who they have aspired to be. With purposeful action of changing an individual's inner narrative, social environment, and their perception of their past self and experiences, that is how an individual is capable of reinventing themselves internally.
