Fun With Stitches

Fun With Stitches - student project

Ok, so I was so focused on ordering bookbinding supplies that I forgot--*drum roll*--PAPER.

But at least I was able to practice stitching today, which is so relaxing and fun.

I bought an economical bookbinding thread off of Amazon, but I don't think I'll get it again. I started with the simple stitch and noticed afterward that it looks twisted up. I worked on avoiding that issue in the other two templates.

So I'll be back. But for now, here are my practice stitches:

So I finally finished my journal!

I painted a watercolor doodle to use for the cover and used the tortoise stitch.

For the back cover, I used a piece of card stock that sort of matched.

I wish the holes came out neater. I'm not sure why they look so rough. Need some practice with the drill, I guess!

I scribbled some color on bristol to use for the inside covers.

I hope to make a gazillion more of these and get much better at it!

I think this class was perfect with easy-to-follow instructions. I am thankful for the 15-second rewind and pause buttons!

Thank you so much for sharing your skills, Olga! I'm looking forward to your future classes.
