Detail of a Cardigan

My project is all about the process. The photos I want to take of this make are step-by-step building techniques. I selected this photo to feature the facing and collar in plain homely cotton.
The structure of the fabric has a rigid nature, but it is soft, absorbent, and cozy. In the double-knitted collar and facing, the stockinette bodice and the drape of the folded fabric (buried unfinished facing) all complement the characteristics of the fabric. The natural lighting and shadows highlight these features.
This photo teases and is designed to invoke curiosity. How is it built? What does it look like worn? As I reveal the one-step-at-a-time details, I hope my community will feel the confidence to want to make it for themselves.
