I recently had to take new photos for a scrunchie knitting kit/workshop, so I tried out some of the tips from this course. I made sure to shoot in natural light on a neutral but not plain white background. I used darning needles and stitch markers as sprinkles for the first image, and edited the photo so the texture of the yarn is highlighted. I used the magic number 3 for both of these images--in the first, there are 3 colors of yarn and there are 3 main "elements" in my mind (the yarn, the needles, the "sprinkles"). in the second photo, there are 3 items again, the 2 finished scrunchies and the one I am making. I still need to work on layering and adding interest I think. next time I'm going to use some dried flowers to try the "peekaboo" style Maren is so good at!
