love where the hands and dragonflies are going, vibrant color, sense of motion, interactive...but, i'm still not sure what you're going for? how about we back up a few paces and you define the company clearly. you can change it later, but for now, how about you figure what you want to do, fantasy or reality and let's go from there? like also the direction you're taking with the intertwined letterforms and words, "cleo stem." and like the previous colorful dragonfly set in the blue bkgnd (no blue bkgnd needed, btw)....though it has the feeling of a fly catcher a bit. while those may be pretty, i always associate them with local hand craft. that may indeed be where you're headed. as you can see, it's difficult to guide you without knowing what you're up to. what will you make and sell? is that where you're going?? what are your personal strengths that you'd like to get out there? art, technology, social, etc. lemme know. xoxo g.

snowflakes seem a bit generic, short-lived. in german they say "schnee von gestern" (yesterday's snow) for things that fell out of fashion. The detail of an ice crystal i think is a interestingly strong bond.dragonflies seem stronger and mysterious in color. What does Cleo's Stem mean?

Yes dragonflies are awesome, and I'm currently pretty sick of the sknowflakes. And definitely don't want Germany to look upon my logo as a futile fashion. Cleo Stem is a design brand (for a design firm which exists only in my imagination for now, actually). It doesn't mean anything in particular, it's just a name for now (it will mean something in the uncertain future, I am sure though). But a stem is, you know, a stem. The part of a plant that breaks the planetary surface to reach the sky.

would be a great name for girls-boys fashion label too.

Because the sexual undertone grabs all the attention. That can be good for clothing that is trying to attract.like French Connection, A&amp;F or AmApparel. Reminds me when i had a job at the Victoria's Secret brand. That name was chosen because it had the word "ass" in it. One of my jobs was to find similar names. i.e. "Cassidy".I guess my first design company "BoyzandGirls" had that too, but it came from "what's up b&amp;g's?" when clients entered the office. we designed club flyers, so it seemed appropriate at the time.Clit and Stem sounds a lot less innocent..., it might distract from what you want to make.

it is a long process. often corporations go through a year of logo development only to change it a year or two later. of course, those logos we think never change actually do change, get updated, look better (or worse). love your new set of sketches. i think you can see that the snowflake is going to give you xmas almost no matter how you turn it, unless you do just part? new sketches, made digital are fluid and fun. however, while this wasn't the first thing that popped into my head looking at them, i now see a lot of sexual references. i must sound ridiculous writing this, but i see it now and am having trouble trying not to see it. unfortunately, sexual references have killed a lot of great logos. so, look again as if you've never seen them and try to figure which say interface design specific to a person or company and which are too figurative. having said that, perhaps non figurative is the way to go with this? try it out and see. think interface abstractly in shapes and colors and see if you can pull it out. lemme know soon. xox g.

Thanks, great comments. Even thought I purposefully left my sexual glasses off the table for this, I was aware I would have to wear them at some point. I guess you did it first. I suppose that Interface and Intercourse do have things in common, after all! Ok working on a more abstract approach now. (What a pity, I am so fond of my dragonfly!)

keep what you like. i don't see sexuality in the dragonfly, unless you're talking plant sexuality, which i doubt anyone will object to. :) listen to what you said--nature and interactivity: human/digital, machine/nature. i assume you mean human/abstract? ox

Cleo Stem is the artistic name of my client, which she intends to keep as a firm under which other design and artistic projects will take place :-)

hiya Rocio. loads of great swipe. forgive my ignorance--pls give me more background on this project. i get that each snowflake is unique and that you're trying to fit those unique individuals into a pair? pls explain how this relates to interface design? also, pls give me target audience? your company is directed at....??? sketches are already interesting. i see you've put a lot of thot into this. be good if i know how you're thinking. warmly, genevieve

Hi Genevieve, thanks for your generous feedback. My thoughts are that snowflakes are a good example of natural interfaces (where you can actually see how water molecules do have their own personality, how wonderful). They're unique and this way they interact with each other forming what in perspective we would perceive as a whole, as a unitity (say a layer of snow). So, interface is the design aspect where (in this case) humans interact with technology. What is relevant about an interface is that it must be highly functional, and unique in the sense that will speak identity of whoever is behind, technology-wise (software or hardware developing company). There isn't exactly an identified client niche yet, but the aim is to start creating the itch for interface design to become a field of independent of specific technologies (such as web or mobile devices). She wants to engage professioanly with any company that sees the potential of this as well as add a strong ethical component, for all her designs will be somehow inspired by Nature. Am I making sense?

To summarize fully: Cleo Stem is a design brand, Snowflakes a name for a branch of the brand, that designs interfaces. Then those interfaces are customized for the client (whether it is a corporation, or an individual, or a specific website or mobile app.) The name snowflakes is not a final decision so it could change. You are absolutely right about the christmas connotations. I would like to highlight the natural engineering side of snowflakes though. Will keep thinking. And certainly finding more concepts.
