Source & Mix Digital Collages from Vintage Illustrations in Adobe Photoshop

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Holly, I'm really happy to hear that this class inspired you to start experimenting! Interesting work with the halftone and colours in the new collage you have shared, and the composition, whilst minimal, looks quite resolved, well done! What inspired you to use these colours and have you tried any other combinations to see how it would affect the mood of the work? It's interesting that it looks as if the halftone pattern is emanating from the woman because of its colouring, placement and angle. Maybe you could also try adding another halftone layer at a different angle and colour, and place it in relation to the man? Generally, I see a few distinct directions in all these collages that you could explore further via different visual treatments, colours and effects: for example, the ram skull and the collage with "two poems" (is it an eel or some kind of a weird reptile?:)) could be taken further with the techniques from my Minimalist Collage class (<a href="https://skl.sh/4dzj3Ln)" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">skl.sh/4dzj3Ln)</a> with a bit of texturing, masking and recolouring — so if you have some time, I'd love to see you pushing these collages further and sharing them in the project in the other class:) I'd love to see more of your collages and how you could develop some of these collages further! —Evgeniya P.S. Such an interesting set of collage experiments, Holly, thanks a lot for sharing! Do you have a favourite here? The one with the ram has a really strong composition, and I love the one with the polar bear, the one with the cat and the one with the girl — great combination of the elements there! Interesting to see you approach the colours in quite an expressive and bold manner — you could also consider further developing the aesthetic with some strong textures or maybe some halftone effects. Hi Evgeniya! Thank you for your thoughts on my work - I'm a little starstruck to be honest. I've spent years creating for others, never really nourishing my own stlye - I watched your class and it ignited my creativity and desire to start creating for me - thank you for helping me find my creativity again. I think each one is my favorite for a different reason - dimensionality - the Radio Mirror, composition - the ram skull, tie to my childhood - the little girl.  I did start working with half-tone textures and I have a piece I'd love to share with you - i'll see if I can add it to this project. I would love your feedback. Any other thoughts to share? Suggestions? Your work is inspirational to me - thank you again. -Holly
