Advanced Seamless Repeat Patterns
Update: I have been playing around with the advanced techniques more, here is another pattern I made using a mix of the wavy branch method and curly branch repeat. The wavy branch is subtle, I sketched out the path and then used the butterflies to create the wavy line

Original pattern from class:
I really enjoyed learning all the new seamless pattern techniques with the diamond method. I spent a lot of time getting the sketch layer correct doing many many test steps. I also did about 5 test steps when applying rough color. It took about 21 hours total to finish up this pattern, but I learned so much.

I also like it with a light background

Here are some of my testing steps:
Finally getting the sketch looking correct after many attempts

I am glad I did some testing with colors because I was able to quickly see the diagonal lines created by the dark green leaves. I was able to cover some of them with holly leaves to minimize the line effect in the final. The wavy lines are more visible in the sketch, I decided to tone them down a lot in the final making them the pale green color.

Here are some more patterns I was following along with during the class lessons, many of them are roughs. I am really glad I followed along, because although I am not 100% happy with them, I learned a lot doing these steps and it prepped me to be more confident creating my final project. I spent about 19 hours following along and doing the patterns from the class.

Here are 2 texture seamless patterns I created:
