With one of my favorite teachers, we are being introduced to how normal stopping is and how to bring back joy in drawing and the small decision that we make as we work…She is wanting to help remind us who we are as artists.

I am to create line shapes that stay parallel and feel “ not knowing “ and the decisions I make as I draw… She want us to feel the flow of the ink on the page as we worked. As well as decide when I want to stop my drawing and feel it is finished to me.

Today was to draw one continuous line. My page had dots that were caused by ink bleeding through the page… so I followed the dots and the form looked like the Dragon of the movie Pete’s Dragon 1977… here is the source work.

The insight of “not feeling safe to create” felt true to me. Being awaken by my cat early in the morning, having him on top of me and together breathing has a meditative feel, warm and safe. The gold are Chi energy and the Ray’s of Sun light.

Thank you for being the teacher that encourages drawing dark, sad, failure in oneself pictures. This is the first one in real time from my feelings … I drew it with my left hand so I was in my feelings completely. Thank you!

Here our teacher called out the name of an object and I was to draw for 20 seconds and stop one drawing and start new immediately for the new object…. I drew the objects with my left hand so I would not be attached to perfect and my left hand was slow so I was practicing leaving a picture un finished… Truely out of my comfort zone, WOW!

Choose one thing you want to practice or vary… I really want to practice Peter Max Profiles…, this assignment allowed me to dedicate some time doing his style of profiles over and over again and Differently. Cool!

Abstract art!

Loved the flow of the ink from the marker… the effect of colors over colored… and the surprise of the balloons and the colors that I used.

The picture drew itself…. Sooo different!
