1. What Will You Learn Today?: What's up, kids? Ambuja. I'm what you gonna artist based off of North America. And I'm so excited to bring this five day project CDs just for your kids. Okay, so let's talk about Project number two into these watercolor project. We're going to paint a cute little cactus and he's called Mr Cactus. We will also write a witty and adorable coat to go with it. You can give this postcard to your coolest family member or your coolest best friend or simply hang it in your room. Are you excited to pain with me? Let's get started. 2. Art Supplies: So before we start painting, let's look at the art supplies that we're going to need today for this project. We're going to need a pencil for sketching and any Reza a measuring scale. What a color People or a thick guard sheet. It's completely okay if you don't have a watercolor people. But make sure that the paper you use is thick enough, so your paper does not back a lot when you put water on it, so make sure you're using a take white paper. You will need water. Connor's off any brand that you have at home. A watercolor brush, a black sketch, been two cups of clean water issue people to dab your rash, and that's about it. 3. Sketching & Painting Mr. Cactus: Okay, so let's start with our sketch to draw, Mr Cactus. I'm first going to draw a tall, upside down narrow. You just imagine that you're drawing a tall you, but it is pleased upside down like so. And then I'm going to draw arms on the two sides off Mr Characters. I'm going to draw a tiny arm on the right hand side. This arm is going to be slightly smaller than the main body in the center, and I'm going to draw another arm on the left side off the body. It's okay if the arms are of different sizes, because cactus has stems that are wearing in size and lend. I also drew a small little flower on the job and then added two eyes, and now we're going to add a moustache and chin. So that's the top version off the cactus and at the bottom. We're going to draw about draw a 10 rectangle on the top and below it draw a square shaped , but so that's our sketch, which is ready to be painted. I'm going to slightly erase the lines so the pencil lines are not seen through the color at the end just making my pencil marks light. Slowly glide your razor onto paper so you don't raise it out completely. You should be able to see the lines when you're painting. Okay, so my light sketch is now ready. Let's start by dipping our brush in water. Kabul, your characters with a layer off water just like how we did it yesterday For the watermelon slice, I'm off lying water on the entire body off the characters. Except for the moustache. Leave the mustache white and dry. Later on, we're going to fill up the moustache with black ink, So do not put water on the moustache. Abortion. I'm not applying water on the part as well. Just the body off the cactus and the arms. Make sure you cover all the area with water while you're applying this coat off water on your character. Let me share some cool fun facts about cactus. Did you ever notice that fact? I never have leaves. They have just a stem and thorns which are also called spines. That act as there is a war to store water. They're tough skin keeps the water from evaporating. In addition to this, surfaces off most capped. I can expand and contract to a company changes in the amount of water. And Oh, by the way, some cactus I can survive for about 300 years. Okay, so after you finish applying a coat off water on the body off the characters, I'm going to dip my brush in green Callow. You can choose a light green or a dark green any shape that you like, and you will start painting the body off the characters in the sector. You will notice that because your people is wet, the green color will instantly start flowing on the people. Very for that is water. So you just have to glide your brush very softly to spread the color everywhere. In some areas you will see a darker shade of green, and in some areas you will see that it is quite light. That's completely OK. And this is exactly how we're trying to do cheating or gradation on our characters. So let the color bleed on people, and you will see beautiful, effective watercolor on the top portion off the characters. I'm just applying a darker shade of green and just merging it with the rest off the characters. I'm taking some work and on my brush and bending the arm on the right side. Yeah, I'm now painting the other arm. Make sure you do it nicely and slowly. I'm just taking some broken down my branch and applying it on the side to show some highlight and contrast. And this is the body off our characters, which is now ready. We're going to wait for the body to dry, and afterwards we would go ahead and do the eyes and the moustache with black color in the meanwhile, let's work on the port underneath. I'm mixing a light shade of brown and just applying it on the board. I'm directly applying brown color on the board this time. I did not wait the surface before, so you can simply paint your board brown. You can use light brown, dark brown, yellow ocher, maybe a blue part. You can add your own twist if you like. Now I'm just going to add the ground from the side off the body to show some shading and gradation, just pressing my brush very softly. Similarly, I'm doing the top order off the port with a doctor mix of brown, and now if you're green color is wet, it's going to slightly bleed into your brown color. But that's completely OK, because that is also one off the watercolor effects. So don't body. If you're green, starts to bleed into your brown. In the end, it's just going to add a beautiful texture to your characters. So don't worry about that. I'm making sure that the bottom off the port is clean and nice. So just making my people upside down, and now I'm going to clean my brush and take some bread color on my brush and do the flower on the left arm. 4. Lettering & Conclusion: Okay. No wine. Are cactuses drawing? We will go ahead and add our court below the part. I've just drawn a small nine and on top offered. I'm going to write the code looking sharp. Did you understand the relation? Five year writing it a cactus has a lot of sharp spines and needles at the same time. It's looking sharp and cool because off its mustache. So we're writing looking sharp. So try writing this in upper case or use lower case or your normal handwriting and then we can trace it with a black sketch. Been okay, So now the top portion has completely dried. I'm just going to check. Then. Once you're cactus is dry, you're just going to carve out the eyes and the moustache with the black skitch been Just do it very slowly. So you don't smudge and forced doing the border off the moustache and then filling it up. I also drew the chin and now I'm feeling up the mustache slowly and steadily. - Okay , so the face off Mr Cactus is now ready. I'm also going to add a border to the flower. Okay, so now we're going to add plans. All over the surface off the cactus. I'm just going to make these small marks along the border. So these are the tones for needles or spines, which are very sharp. And then I'm going to continue drawing forms from the right hand side on the right arm. - Okay , so now we're also going to add some spines on the arms and the body off the characters. So make small, tiny lines all over the surface off the characters like So if you want, you can dark in the eyes a little. I'm darkening the eyes off my characters. And then now it's looking bold. I'm also adding a thin border to my port. Okay, so our cactus is now ready. Now let's work on the lettering part at the bottom. I'm simply going toe right over the coach using the same black men. We're almost there. Okay. If you want, you can also add some design on the port. I'm just adding a 10 border and some design between the two lines. And while up Mr Characters is now ready. I hope you finish your project along with me. And I'm really looking forward to see your project for day number two. Thank you so much for watching. And I will see you again in my next video.
