1. Presentation: Shift where ever felt stuck in front of a blank page? Do you feel tension when you have to create something from scratch? Do you struggle with finding your artistic voice? No. What about approaching your art with playfulness and creating a collection of drawing games, which will allow you to play and to experiment with the shapes, colors, and textures of the object you're drawing. Experiment with new techniques and even create your own techniques in order to increase the visual interests in your art. If this speaks to you, this class will help you to begin such a playful collection of drawing games. My name is Dylan Adele cima. Honestly, I'm an artist, are teacher and surface pattern designer settled in Ontario, Canada. I have created this class in order to help you to improve your drawing and creative skills in a playful way. This joint gains can also help you to find and to work upon your own signature style. They apart of my own creative process. And I consider them as the initial and essential step. Before Let's start designing the final elements for my art projects. I have gathered those trainings during the past five years, especially during my illustration style ears, things to different teachers that helped me to overcome my artistic blocks. And also thanks to artists that inspired me through this class that I have decided to share with you the heart of this playful collection of drawing gains, throwing gains in the practice that any level they will find you where you are. If you are a beginner artists, they will definitely help you to improve quickly your drawing and creative skills. If you are already unexperienced artists, some of them will be a reminder of the basics. But I always love to go back and play with the basics and others via your new ideas and help you grow further on your own artistic part. The purpose of this drawing games is not to create masterpieces. They are designed as a liberating creative process, allowing you to let go of excessive control here of mistakes, tension, and also helping you to find them beauty that will naturally come along the process. This beauty is specific to you, do who you are, and that's what will make your signature style. By the end of this class, you will be able to experiment with each of those drawing and creative games, which are in reality drawing and creative techniques. And you'll be able to choose which one of them you would like to do over and over again. Which one of them you would like to combine and which one of them you would like to incorporate in your own artwork. I want those not to give you a sneak peek, do not you will discover inside of this course, we will play with quick gesture drawings with continuous line. With negative space. We will play even with blind drawings. The drawings with our both hands. We will study our objects from different angles. We will play with colors, textures, different mediums and much more. Longtime fight you on a playful drawing and creative journey with me. 2. Materials: What materials do you need to get started? You can work on separate sheets of paper or in a sketchbook according to your preferences. I recommend you to choose a mixed media paper, or even better, a watercolor paper. You will also need several separate sheets of white construction paper. In addition, different recycled papers are very welcome, such as gift wraps, textured papers, newspaper or magazine papers. Then prepare some basic materials up. A pencil and eraser, liquid glue and scissors. You will also need a variety of drawing mediums of your choice. Color pencils, oil pastels, water-soluble wax pastels, or watercolor pencils in some drawing games. So we will also experiment with watercolors, acrylic or tempera paint. For those, prepare at least two brushes of different sizes and two containers with water, one for the clean water and the other for rinsing your brushes. Finally, look around you and gather some who found and nature items for drawing and printmaking, such as wood, an eye dropper, but candle, a rag, a sponge, bubble wrap next from citrus bags for example. And whatever other original ideas come to your mind to experiment with. Yes, I know this makes a lot of materials, but in reality, you don't need to have all of them, neither the same as mine. Look around, you see what you have already at home, and start experimenting with what is already easily available for you. I wish you a wonderful creative journey. 3. Class Project: Your project for this class will be to choose an object that inspires you and to create as many drawings as you can go through the drawing games of this class or combining some of them, or even creating your own new original drawing games. Then share them in the project gallery. You can work on separate sheets of paper or two in a sketchbook according to your preferences. The separate sheets of paper will allow you at the end of your creative process, to display all your drawings on a flat surface, such as the flu or wrong. Sketchbook is more a visual diary, which helps you to observe how your ideas evolve. If you're drawing a sketch book, you will have to wait a little bit when you draw with humid mediums before you turn the pages. So it is up to you to decide what do you prefer, separate sheets or sketchbook. 4. Game 1: Quick Gesture Drawings: This first throwing game is called quick drawings or gesture drawings. Let's take our object and put it somewhere in front of you in a way that you see it confidently. Grabber tool of your choice. And let's draw our object in. One minute. Ready to go? We will use only one medium. Even if the leaves of my strawberry, our green, I will not consider it here. I just tried. What I see with your color. If your object is very simple, like mine, one minute can seem very long, but don't stop drawing till the end of the time. Try to observe details, textures at the shadows, differences of colors and shades. Use all your time for one called Minute. Time is finished. Now, let's draw the same object in only thirty-seconds. Try to consider first the general shape, then you can put some more details, maybe some variations you see on the surface of your object. And the dynasty finish. For our third the gesture drawing, we have only 10 seconds. Go. And here we are. Let's move to our second drawing game. 5. Game 2: Draw with Your Non Dominant Hand: Oh, I have just noticed that I have done the second game and my job was not filming. I will do it again for you. Let's draw with our non-dominant hand, grab another tool. If you reshare, you don't keep the same. I will take a femto expand stat two children I use to draw with. And I will draw the strawberry from the same end goal, but with my left-hand. Well, if your strawberry or your object, whatever it is, looks the challenge age, not proportionate, it's okay. It's perfectly let celebrated. And sometimes I'm even amazed how much sensibility, something very, very, very special that comes in the appearance of my drawings and with my left hand. If you want, you can also cover some parts. If you want. Also to challenge more yourself. You could also grab another tool. And if the large deep voice, easy. Sometimes it's going to be practice those games often. As I used to do. Suddenly, our left-hand starts to be accustomed closer from Troy Inca and no more so challenging. But if you wish to, to make it more difficult, more challenging, just grab another medium with finite TPP. For example, this valid patent has a very thin tip. So it's a little bit more difficult. For more, and the lines are less regular. There is no time limit for this game. Just concentrate on your left hand to your best. We can also add a little bit of shadow. And here we are. Let's move to the third game. 6. Game 3: Play with Continuous Line: In this toy game, let's play with continuous line. For this one, I will take a 10. So let's draw this trooper with continuous line. What do I mean by that is that we will not leave our pencil from the paper. You can do this game of costs, which are our dominant term. You don't have to do it with our left hand. But you can also combine the getting upset and you can play with continuous line with your left hand, so make it more challenging. You can also play with continuous slide in only 30 seconds or 10 seconds or one minute. For this game, you don't have anytime they need. And chicken, just draw it which are dominant character. So keep her baby oh, panel, there are paper. You can go around and find a way even to consumption. Sure, we died. Without lifting your pen from the paper or your pencil. Maybe you have taken a pencil. Of course, you can try this game with me. There are tools which makes it very interesting. Here I added some shadows. Consider their sum. Let's move to the first game. 7. Game 4: Two Drawings at a Time: In this game, we will draw with our hands. We will do two things at the same time. One with our left-hand entwined with our right-hand rule. You take the same tools, the same art media before we go into different colors. When let's do it first like that. But a variation of this game is if you take two different tools in each hand. Again, you don't have anytime they meet. Well, for this one, the right-hand that are, let's say the dominant hand tends to be a leading against shopping somehow, even unconsciously the left-hand. So it can't seem to be easier to draw with both hands then only when the next unit. Well, let's now try to do the same game about choosing different mediums for both hands. Let's begins with different tools. It is a little bit more disturbing when you have different tools and options. Even the right-hand can be. Interrupt. For a moment. I have not changed the angle of the story, but it will come in the coming games. Here we are with our left hand, right hand drawing with different tools within opportunity to experiment. And see you in the next game. 8. Game 5: One Drawing with Both Hands: In this game with the draw, again, our object using our Balkans left and right. But this time they will contribute for building the same drawing. I will also choose a different medium for about, I guess still not change the angle. Now let's do it again, but we just exchange the RPMs in a robot can't always, I find that there is a difference when I exchange my tools. Some of the wild, which is more precise as now in my left hand. And at the painterly Warren is in my right hand. See how it is for you to make this change. How vaults your heads behave? How does it translate it on the paper? It is up to you to decide when a drawing is finished. Let's check. Just keep moving both of your hands as much as you can at the same time without stopping with one, and just give them moving all the time. You are satisfied. We'll call this finished for this drawing again. 9. Game 6: Blind Drawings: This toy game is called blind joint. In this game, we will draw our object without looking at our paper, without taking a toll like I will draw week. So wasn't recommend you. Take your object. I take my strawberry in my hand and I will keep it far from the angle of my drawing. So I will look at it some way up on, on my left side. And I will grab again a pencil. I just changed the color and I will draw it without thinking at all at my paper. The purpose of those games is also to get us out of our comfort zone. To challenge us an ethyl group. I will consider it finish. Okay. We will close completely our eyes. We will not even look at our object. So we will keep the, the picture object in our inner vision and we will draw it this way. Keeping the feature of your object in your mind. Numeric for center. Yes. I smashed cells as you can according to what you remember. Without looking at DOL is your sheet of paper. Let's now see the result. So bad, I was expecting much more quirky enjoying. It happened even better than the, than the first one. And I think for this one, let's move to the next strong gain. 10. Game 7: Draw with a Motionless Pen: I want to challenge you to troll. Object without limiting the tip of your pencil. You have the right to remove the sheath of the phases, but not a pencil. So for this purpose, I will put my elbow on the table and in a stable way. And I will keep my pencil as much as they can. At the same point without movie theater. If you wish, you can take another bent sub at something, maybe like a felt-tip pen or a marker, loops around. So in a way that you can move easily or shear, you're not disturbed by other objects around. Let's go into a variation of the, of the game with continuous line. And continuous line drawing gets pretty much similar. We have middle, not leave our pencil from the paper. Hey, factors. For me. Great continuous slide. I will consider is done. See you in the next game. 11. Game 8: Draw with a Pencil Hard to Control: For this game called the cow or pencil at very top of the pencil, not close to the tip, but just hold it in a very loose way from the top. And then we will draw this way. Our object, your sheet is not moving, but this time the pencil is very loose and much more difficult to control, much more unpredictable than the result that we get. So that's also very interesting, especially for any shapes. And I do like very much those shapes are very loose, very organic. How they come from during spontaneously. I would consider it finished. 12. Game 9: Draw the Negative Space: Despite the drawing game, is all to draw the negative space. We will focus on the space around our object. We will not draw the line, will not outline our object, but we will focus on the space all around. For this purpose, I find that it is helpful to put your object on a flat surface of the same color. So I have chosen this white handkerchief and it is much more helpful to see in a bad way your negative space. So you can use whatever color you want. I will use the complimentary colors of the red. Starts throwing player and break it into shapes. As negative space. We just see her have some negative space in between and then yes. Of course it depends a lot on the angle from which RISD our object. You can try it again from an asthma and Gulf. Try it from this angle. You can also try to break it into segments like here. Beak shape of negative space. Or you can go roughly as they did in the previous example. It's pretty much a geometrical representation of the negative space. And you forgot or with more or an inclined, some smelled or out of those cycles if you wish. That it's also interesting is that most of the changes similar with the style. Calculate the option for ideas. You can also go in and just as much a little bit of color. But your finger over the handkerchief, spread stability of the solid fence surfaces. Here we have the basic shape of our object, which is the strawberry, and transform. After the next game. 13. Game 10: Draw with Your Eraser: If we have not yet used our eraser, but we use it for drawing. We will start with filling the shape. Might offend. So whether we can do this with a, with a dao pencil or mine is pretty sharp. So if I hold it straight and 12 make various strengths, scratchy lines. But in order to pass, are these texture. Just keep it at an angle. Now, let's start drawing our, our object. By erasing parts of this gray shape. Again, have to be perfect. It's even more interesting with some variations. And the result can be pretty similar to the previous drawing game. But the technique is not the same. The process and the snow the same. Here we have drawn the negative space. And here we focus again on the object by erasing parts of this space, which will remain only with the negative space that the nth. I really like terms, variations of gray, which comes spontaneously. You can use the brush to remove your eraser dust. And now you see that the tip of your eraser is very black and very 13. And let's make a drawing with the tip of your eraser here. So e to a painter eraser and at the same time we continue playing. So I have also some other sides which are not so clean. Even if it is just a suggestion of strawberry tried to make it tried to get going home. This one is very discreet. Well, I will call this done. Let's move to the next game. 14. Game 11: Draw Your Object from Many Angles: Now let's draw our strawberry from many different angles. We have drawn it so many times from this angle that I think it's time to change a little bit. I will start with the top view. Try to observe what are the main shapes in order to break eating easy. And a rules tips for drawing it. So it's a kind of staring, looking leaves around our goal. And I just noticed that some of the leaves, instead of being completely straight, are curved like that. So you have to observe while your object and try to break it in understandable for you. Simple shapes. Again, we use just 11 colorant one tool. We are not so realistic about a car or symptoms that the leaves are green. But while here now we focused on thing later, you can combine the gains and complexified and go through the same process, select different colors. Or if you make those games with kids, you can also simplify them and adjust them to your audience. And we'll draw it now from the bottom, you can start with the general shape. Just seems that variations of colors. This part is darker. And as you see, I don't use my eraser. Even if I made something that I don't lie. It's okay. Eyelid is going very central in all that. That's just an experiment. I can learn also from this. But it can be also happy accidents and make the drawing more interesting and also embrace our dosing and actions as part of my style. Let's change the angle again. This is a side view. The trans represented here also some of the variations of colors. And to take as much information as they can. Usually in this game is no longer, a little longer than the others, because it's much more observational, even if it doesn't have to be completely realistic, but just try to interpretative our way from what we see. Let's say this one. Let's change the angle. I'm Troy this time from this side. Every time we change the angle, the object trivial in many different ways to us. And we start to know it's better and better. How, how it's the leaves move, how it is built, the architecture of the strawberry, I have just noticed that the texture on the surface, which are these little seeds. So random, as I believe today, are pretty much aligned. Maybe depends on the point of view or maybe I have just noticed they don't. I have not paid attention before about the state of the team. And we learned so much from observation and real life drawings. Again, here I notice. That is why it is darker. This is the shape of this strawberry. And ever see an artist since in Congress. Littleness. Such an extraordinary texture and such a variety of textures in Old Town fruits and vegetables, plants, nature, or is it an extraordinary library of forms, shapes, and textures, colors, composition. I really love drawing from nature and observing how everything is built. Great. Let's change again our anger. So we have done here from sixths angles that you probably can't go much more. Let's say I can do also this one. It is amazing how many different angles we can draw. Which is not very symmetrical because even if I turn it exactly at the same angle, but from the other side, it will not be the same. That are much more options than five angles, but try to do at least five. It is also a very relaxing experience, especially when margin is playing his music. I sit nearby and draw and make some even 15 minutes per day drawing practice. One can take so much benefits out of this. And here we are. Let's see if I find another one. But again, I would like to try it went from this angle also. I will draw also for you a couple of other angles. So you can just follow. Yes. Hello. We have drawn this strawberry from nine different angles. If you wish, you can go for even for more. But I think it's already a good approach and a good number of different angles of the same object. Let's move to the next row again. 15. Game 12: Draw with Your Finger: We will also look inside of this trauma, right? It will give us so much more information of fixtures, some inspiration, getting going on better. Our object. It is so beautiful. And it's so beautiful to photograph and control. Fruit is quite juicy. You put some on your finger. And let's draw it with our state where fingertips. If your object is absolutely in our Jerusalem, you can do the same with watercolors or are treating patients. Such beautiful color just for directly from the fruit. So here are my watercolors. You can use also liquid watercolors, especially for this game. But now immediately I don't have liquid water car is, so I will put a little bit of pigment into the jar and makes it to its water. In order to have a very liquids color. You can make it to moralists and thrive recording tool. What she wants to have if asked to follow ups now, one which is not got, another one we just got. So we can try to draw balls. If this is so long, we just snow-capped. And it's true here. Normally just count. Just pretty much heart-shaped. You see here when the watercolors dry, how nice the edges around the strawberries loop just here at this sonar edge, almost like in the end it was strawberry. And also here around it's not completely smooth. There is a little bit of texture all around two, which is also, thanks to the paper which has a little bit of texture upon it. 16. Game 13: Draw with an Eyedropper: Let's turn now our strawberry way to the eye dropper. There is that much more unpredictable and interesting, visually interesting. If you can also change a little bit to that B-mode, make it more saturated. That's what I would like to experiment to it. Slightly different saturation of the same color. Let's make our drawing with our eyedropper. Said, Well, let's try it. Well, I'm pretty happy with it. And now I would like to draw the one which I have count. And the most important is that you focus on your own object. From your angle. You will take much more benefit out of the experiment if you have a real object in front of you. And also the angle from we try and draw is not exactly the same. And go as you have on the video. Because the video is taken from the top. And when I'm drawing very C-shaped in a slightly different angle, nitrate in the center of this guy stakes shortening. I think I really did like that. I would like to spread some. Thanks. Sure. You don't have to have an eye doctor further, nice. You can also do it with your brush. And I will show you. You just take a little bit of, oops. It's okay if it goes up time. 17. Game 14: Minimalistic Drawings: In this drawing again, let's make a minimalistic drawing. We will use watercolors. I suggest you to take two brushes, one t current, one thinner. Let's say we try to draw each strawberry three or four maximum lines or brushstrokes. I would use again, just one color. And I will use those liquid water colors I thought I should have already prepared. Two are, I consider this one as water, so revenue, note left white brush from the paper. Maybe you're considered to use this tree. So if you consider just three, you have to find a way to draw it this way, maybe in one line. This one is the second line and this one is the third one. No, I will draw the other one. I love to have several versions of the same object on the same sheet so I can compare them. Well. This thing, just a few lines 2 and 3. Okay, let's move forward for the next round game. 18. Game 15: Play with Masses of Colours: Look at all the variations of color and choose a color palette from six to 10 colors. I have already chosen my colors, and I have 99 colors. In for this drawing game, we will use the same medium. They can be also not really sick. They can be even originally if you wish. But try to observe all the shades and all the lights surfaces and dark surfaces of your object. And to break colors, there's some variations you see for this game. Try to observe the object as several spots of colors. Instead of focusing the outline of the object loop to date IS masses of color. My advice would be also even before you start drawing. Let's go and if it back, try your colors, try and color paths. It can be on a separate sheet of paper or on the same sheet if you wish. And try to see the variations, colors you have chosen. He Akbar, my rights to my greens. Maybe this one is too Brian. I see it a little bit into seeds inside of and also the light services and the strawberry. So I will keep it. And there's this more for the leaves. So I will keep this color palette for this experiment. Now let's draw pictures on these that are in light green. Also for the scenes. I realized that I should have started with the seeds and fruits, the other colors around. I think it would have been better. But that's also what the experiment shows me. So I will get a second chance and do it a second time. Well, maybe this experiment we'll need you to another idea and just don't follow what comes to you. So for me, for example, what's cool? Hey, there, I'm dying to give it a second chance to try to do the first, the seats with dizziness, light, green and yellow, then move to the other coral reefs around. The second thing I would like to change is to bring more contrasts between those two reds I've added they are not so contrasting. And I can probably find one that is darker. I want to replace this one with one of those almost brown colors, which really is a small well, I can go use this. And let's start to get ink. Yes, definitely I prefer this way because it makes them so those are white shapes around the seeds or which look exactly as the little nest throughout the scenes, vital have to outline them with another color. It's just comes very charming. Seeds here, there. We see a load. If you don't have crayons, you can use pastels. You can also use pencils or any other medium, just experiment. This is all about playfulness and getting to know your object, but also your mediums. And it'll delete. What I see first, a very light five, at the bottommost transparent one of the very early moment, cream. Then the other book of color is see, is this still in there? And I tend of grain, and then we have more darker shades. Well, this is not a very good practice to do ads which are Ken's datatype referred to movie tweets, brush, and now the troll, the open ones. I will just replace. Sometimes there are caches are okay for one of them that are s1 and I will replace those two with lighter ones. I just throw them out here. Yes. And this is just perfect. I'm not completely convinced, so I look for another for another color. What about this one? Yes, I will get this room. Well, all around. I have this very dark red. This time. I'm going to also this lighter value here. They're in lights rays making the fixture who this part of the story. And it eats my interpretation of water seeds not exactly the same, but it is how I see them coming on to interpret it. The middle, we have this beautiful pinkish color. Well, the crayon circle not found, not the most comfortable medium for me to draw, but that's also why it's challenging and interesting. You can also leave white areas. I just put the color where I see. I don't draw in a linear way, not to just put some masses of colors. I'm going to call this finished. Once you look at from afar, maybe you'll find something cure won't two bands. Or maybe you want to do it again with a slightly different idea. It's has a different experiment, just SID to end those two examples. See you in the next drawing game. 19. Game 16: Water Drawings: Welcome back flora neutral AND gate. This fun, I let call it water, true? Eq. You'll see why very quickly. Take a container for water. And it's true I was struggling on maybe it's water. It gives us out of our comfort zone because we don't see it there. And before there was her is trying to use another brush to add color. And this one I would keep it because I will draw this to create several time sense when experiment with different kind of wants a choice. But for now let's just take another brush. Let's have another container and the tuatara, we have a dirty walls variables. In order to attain our watercolor brush. And just add some colors. And let them spread. Mrsa well ago thickening, which is called our template. And it must at some red colors. You then observed while your story and see where are the darkest values. If you'd would sap green to the red will become much darker. Because those two are complimentary colors. So de novo somehow neutralize them themselves and 20, you mix them. They gave different kinds of brown, grayish brown, or just a darker shade or one of those two colors, red or green. Nike CT, or just that the color is e and see what happens, how they will mix. Okay. Get her friends innovatory on producible me. Let's turn out the same from another angle. At this time, I would not floats watercolors, but once you start to build black spots step I will DPDT also independent in the Walter. Each will be HUMINT. I just like it's not predictable. Leading effect. If you think your paper is so dry, just bent some more water. It's perfectly okay if it needs an absurd, where are the lighter values of a strawberry? And where our thoughts are kilowatts. 20. Game 17: Draw with Sandpaper Dust: Let's draw another one. Let's change the name. And now, instead of, instead of painting with watercolor, faster, now, take a piece of sandpaper and then an experiment. What is read, Buster? I have some other colors than the red, but it's just an accident because they're him, he was already the sand paper with another color. If you don't want to just be careful that you use and recommend a news agar. And otherwise, I shall, I like it. I like this happy accidents. I like also to use with the same technique, a watercolor pencil. And I can show you just now, I work with also some green aggregate, first the pavement to react with the water and see how to I would try. When we were decedents bothers more on accumulated on the edges of my strawberries. And that's why I tried to spread its own is a bit bitumen FOR those accidents have one on the top. It's not a preference. Okay. It's all about experience. I will just keep it like that. 21. Game 18: Draw with a Candle: Now I'll draw, just grab agenda at the edge. I will make the chorion. It toby also invisible. And now let's cover it where it wasn't garbled. Rooms know, suddenly I want your brain starts to appear. You can also put some different shapes them to Menus inside. I just pushed it up in their ads. Okay. You're a test. 22. Game 19: Draw with Different Found Items: And now it's unpredictable tools such as sticks, I have a thicker and a staunch rag or nice or whatever comes to your mind, that would be interesting to experiment with. I will start with a very thin stick. I booked a direct integration with color and start drawing. We're going to discharge the line. And I have to take the steep even if it ain't better training for a long time, we meet. And now I'm an experiment meet that. Come on. This slide is much seeker and this is also not there anymore. While the pigment is much more intelligent. So let's try it. What's the more citrate? Which historians, sometimes I almost don't look at my strawberry. I still recommend you to look at it just to get inspired randomly. They don't take your freedom. Now, let's draw with a rank. Maybe I changed the ischium of my story. And I got some notes there. Interestingly, shirt Mark. Let's start now with Spanish. For a central bank to try what would be to take. Sure. Well, there's the cornflakes shirt and it seems to me pretty regular. So I tried to make it less straightforward. 23. Game 20: Draw with your Scissors: For this next drawing, I will use my box with textured collect papers. Those are all experimental papers that I create. What I do have some time. I don't want to experiment with different techniques. And, or when I have some things that I don't want to throw. And I just clean my brushes on a sheet of paper in order to create those funny, interesting textures and colors. And then I use all those papers were different kits. If you don't have any of those, you can click and create some it's not sorted bone, just make some burst strokes, random brush strokes, and just experiment with different tools, different governors for you. 24. Game 21: Play with a Self-Made Stencil and Splattering: Hi, and welcome for a neutron game. This time we will use the paper that we cut out the shape of our object. We will use it as a stencil. But before I will first cut it out, I will just put Scotch here in order to prevent that it moves. And I will put some masking tape, which is very easy after to take out around the corners in order to flatten it. And now I will take some water with my brush. Choose the color you want to put in the medium. While it doesn't have to be realistic, it can be another color than red. You can experiment with violet, blue, yellow, and whatever you prefer. And it just spread some, some green. I'm absoultely not bother that all those little drops come on the I part of my sheet of paper. I will draw over it. And for these kind of experimental practice and even very happy with all those accidents. And they just make some additional marks that are interesting to experiment with. But if you wish to preserve it completely white, you have to protect it with another sheet of paper. And let's see now the result when we remove our ostensible. If you want to preserve the paper, just pull them off the masking tape from inside to outside. And here we have another strawberry. Now this one, I will, I would like to, just to cool it here because I like how it looks. And even without slight dots, I will just Google it. If you want. You can add some other details, some more dots inside or textures, or you can also leave it like that. 25. Game 22: Printmaking and Drawing: In this game, Let's play with textures. I will take a little recipient and put it inside some acrylic paint or tempera paint. This is a tempera paint. I will take home found items, textures. It can be bubble wrap. Faith can be else says some of those nets that I have from vegetable is this farm is from ginger. I think. You can also take some different items in order to use them as stamps. It just almost too much, but if I have left, I cannot lose use it often for creating some new textured papers. So I will print with and leave a mark on my paper just by a tiny place. And try gains. And if it seems too regular for you, you can, you can do it again from different angles. Maybe you need to take one's more, some of which was a mistake I should have taken out to this tau, but it's not prime now. I will just take another one. Now. I will use the double wrap. If you wanted to, less regular, just doing it over and over again from different angles. Those who are slightly lighter, then they swallow it. This is more saturated with much more substance. But I love to experiment with both of them. Well, this one looks much closer to the texture of the strawberry, then they swap. But this one also has something very nice. The strawberry has it's not completely flat. It has some bumps, some pills and yes, so both of them I think, are interesting to experiment with. Don't throw your paper. Yo, yo can occur chief that you use for printing. Just throw with it. And now add some green for the leaves. Or you can also add the leaves with something callous. For example, why not? Those? This is just the sum of those things that come in the packages. Some packages of Amazon, for example, for shipping in order to protect the items while they are recyclable and water-soluble, which means that they will consume themselves with water. There is so much life and so much movement. When we draw this way. He doesn't have to be realistic. Just play with it, play with it forms, play with textures, play with the colors, send a stroke, send, and the movement and everything. And with your mediums and see what comes out of it. Good. Now really dry. So now I will cut out the shape of a strawberry. I will get several. It is just amazing how much should the strawberry, Luke's as hot? I will also keep all those little strips of paper that come out of my cutting. And amylose to experiment with them. For a moment. Just put them somewhere. Experiment though. So with this very cool texture here, which is pale. To maintain this show, I love to create several alaska because I never know which one I would like to most me also to have more opportunities for more experiments. Now let's play with some of them. So overlaps they saw, they saw teeth are just experimental, saw how this combination will work. Experimental. So with a little base, base composition, you couldn't leave them like that. Or you're kinda go further and on the top, what I usually like to do is put some additional facts. You can also paint or draw on the top of them for are they saw it and I will use them as a soluble cells. I said I did. Thus the marks best Denmark's I will note, goes here water. And now let's go on and find some more ideas. Where does our shapes? 26. Game 23: Mix several Medias and Techniques: Let's start by gluing those three additional strawberry shaped. Once it is done, I would like to draw on top of those shapes with the simple color pencil and experiment what kind of ink marks and the color pencil will leave. While the marks of the color pencil are very subtle, very discreet. And I would like to experiment with a medium which is bolder and more visible. That's why I will continue with oil pastels. I just go over my shape with these red oil pastel is the surface is not flat. There are lots of bumps which makes that only certain points. So we'll take of the pigment of the old pastime. The other areas that will remain white or light pink. I will repeat the same process for the leaves with green on pastels. Then let's put some marks for the seeds with a darker color. For the second one, I want to experiment with water-soluble wax pastels. After I have applied my pastor marks on the dry paper, I will use a little bit of water to activate my pastor layers. Then I will leave it to dry and move forward to the third experiment. As I don't have an exact idea for the moment about how I want to do it. I just go around and play with my tool. And suddenly there will be a visual idea that will pop up. When I don't know what to do, I just start making some marks, even if they are not exactly what they want. This is how I search for ADS. Well, now I decided to cover those first layers with an additional layer of oil pastel, or with a more consistent color. Now, I think I have a very juicy strawberry. For the shadow, I would use water soluble wax pastels, which will activate with water. Finally, I like to look at my drawings from afar and decide if I want to add some additional details. So this one looks much more grounded because of the shadow underneath. This fun. If we don't put the shadow, we can just use it as a separate object. But this looks much more flow taking the air. If you want to make it more grounded, we should put a share. Well, I like this because I think I would use it on so digitally and I want to scan it and developed it to have this white area around because it will be just easier for me to work with it digitally. Let's continue mixing medias and techniques. Instead of throwing all those little pieces of the herd for those cutouts, I will use them. I will try to rebuild the shape of the strawberry, putting together all those little pieces of cartilage. You can use the liquid glue, glue stick, or love my files. Very practical is this blue pen, which allows me to be very precise in bullying solid pieces of paper. If you don't have it, you can also use the glue out of the bottle. Maybe you would have some more glue marks. But at this stage I don't mind so much because it is my brainstorming process. So I'm pretty relaxed witness. You can also work either millions all over. Now, I love to go over and put some additional marks. But you get 0, some perfectly inhibit like that. It is also interesting because visual experience, it depends on your style and how far you want to do experiment to admit maybe you would like something or minimally stakes are more scratch and some are abstract. And it's perfectly up to you. There is no ropes about this. So I will go a little further, for example, and draw the contour line that boulder shapes here. And then I will draw the contour line it and all those little shapes inside. With oil pastel. Again, the orbital is not water-soluble, even if you want to go over white water. Those marks for staying. That was we haven't drawn with a water-soluble pastel reactors and water color. So let's try it. You're kind of all more or less see if you want to leave some of the fastest strong. So that's what I will do. I will make some of them. And the other is I would keep this lovely texture. Now we have an interesting mixed media strawberry. You can do the same for the leaves. I like this, make sure that the edges, so I want to preserve it. I think I would keep in mind that here I have another shape that I can use this instead. So, so I would just do it in pieces of masking tape aligned. Well, here is a little tricky fire Antoine to go inside of the body of the strawberries. So I should put it exactly on on the border. And now what I would do is I would put some clean water inside of this shape. And then I would suggest you to use a watercolor pencil. And the sand paper. Wet area. I will let the pigments react with water, but in addition, I will use my brush. Some watercolor droplets. If you combine all those throwing deeds, you'll combine many techniques. Okay? If you want to spread some green and the area of the leaves, maybe it is already dry here, so we'll put some water. Now, let's take it out. You can leave it as it is. All. Go over with some marks, get some additional shape if you wish. 27. Let's reflect: Now that we have experimented with federal drawings, now is the time to reflect on what we have just done. Let's start by writing beside each throwing the techniques or the mediums we have used with a time, it is so easy to forget how exactly we have achieved a spatial visual effect. So let's write it down. Then. Display all your drawings on a flat surface. It can be table on a wall or simply on the floor. He have an overall look at your drawings, which are those that attract immediately your attention. Try to realize what is eye-catching. Condemn. Is it the shape, the colors, or the textures? Independently of the final result, which are the drawings that you enjoy the most. What was enjoyable for you. The unpredictable result. Drawing with unusual tools, or maybe playing with textures, or exploring a new technique. How do you incorporate what you enjoy the most in your own artwork? Which are the drawings that you really love, the final result. And what exactly do you loving them? The color palette, the organic or the geometric Luke, the quality of the line, the textures. Are there some drawing games that you would like to combine in order to make new experiments. For example, we're not combining blind drawings and continuous line or drawing with your non-dominant hand. And you unusual whom found tooth? Or why not playing with textures and representing your object from many different angles. Finally, did this experiment inspired ideas for drawing games. The possibilities are really infinite. I wanted to suggest you're some more ideas. What about playing with a masking tape? By the way, how many different playful ways of using the masking tape could you find? What about layering? Different mediums and colors, all with a final layer of an oil pastel and curving into the upper oil pastel layer. What about representing your object only with geometric shapes? One's about if you tried to feel your object with lots of details, bedrooms and graphic elements. What about if you made a zoom on a specific part of your object and drew only that part. Or what about drawing your object with and face expressions? I believe that the possibilities are really countless. And I will be happy to hear about your ideas of drawing games. So we can all learn from each other and enrich our collection of drawing games. Don't hesitate to share in the project gallery. 28. Thank You: Thank you for watching this class. We hope that you enjoyed those drink games on markings, relaxing piano music. I also hope that you will continue completing this collection. I would be happy to know which one was your favorite drawing game. And I can't wait to see some of your drawing experiments. If you have other ideas for new games, I will be excited to know them, to learn from you and to continue growing my playful collection of drawing games.
