1. Class Introduction: Starting to cellular the signs on Spoonflower can be confusing and scary. But this is a great opportunity to make passive income, be more creative, and get to know your community. Hi, my name is Dan and I'm a graphic, I'm pattern designer. In this class, I will teach you everything you need to know both Spoonflower, so you can start selling your designs. You'll learn how to be a seller, how to get paid, how the website works, and how to be more successful. 2. What is Spoonflower: Spoonflower is an on-demand digital printing company that prints custom fabric wallpaper and home decor. Sid signer on Spoonflower, you will earn 10 percent of every sale you make is not that much, but your designs can be sold on limited time. So at the end, if you're the signs are popular, you can earn a lot of money. It's a great place to find inspiration, psi new friends, and be part of the design community. Spoonflower also has a few Facebook groups, so I recommend you to check them out. You can meet new people and learn some tips and tricks that will make you a better designer. So let's begin this class so you can learn everything you need to know about becoming a successful seller. 3. Become a seller: First of all, you need to go to Spoonflower.com and here you will create an account. So if you already have one, just go on. And if you don't just click Join and here they will ask you your basic information. So your FirstName, LastName, you will create a password and all. You have to give like an email address. I already have an account, so I'll just go on. Here on Spoonflower, you will find menu. The menu is the most important one. You will use it to do everything on your account. And you can see are or others, your account settings here, Favorites, your collections, the CI library. You might shop how to upload your designs, notifications, messages, and your design talent. Verify your account. First you need to click on Account Settings. Once you are in account settings, you will find menu. And here is the most technical part of Spoonflower. After these, you will need to go to verify account. Here you need to follow these four steps to become a seller. To verify your e-mail, to accept the seller's agreement to verify your address and to feel the tax form. The first step is the email address verification. Spoonflower will send you an email and you just have to click on Verify account. This EGL step is accepting a seller's agreement. Here you will just have to click on the link below accepting seller's agreement and you will find all the information you need to know. It's really good if you take it out and you take your time to read and at the end of the page, you will find how to agree that it's just a button that you click and you will sign the agreement. The third step is the address verification. For this step, you will have to buy something from Spoonflower so they can verify your account. The first step is it tax form on file? This step is probably the most complicated one. So let's get started. You need to alter the tags in four, right next is PAN dollars on toggle them in. Here. They will ask you some questions on depending on your answer, they will send to your email a document that you need to fill out. The document is a bit confusing, so take your time to read it. Try to feel it as much as possible, but if you don't have some information, you can leave it blank. After this, you will have to sign and send the document. I signed this document, and I love that question 5, 6, 7, and 10 blank. I will leave a link for that tax form on the resource section. 4. Personalize your shop: Giving personality to your account is very important. So let's go to our shots and edit our profile. Your profile, you will be able to add a picture, a banner and other description and some contact information. Okay, so first, you need to add a picture that you just have to click here and select the picture that you want. It has to be 250 pixels in a square format. After you just have to click Upload. So it's a make sure to use a picture that is easily recognizable that you have in maybe on your Instagram account or on your website so people can associated with you. Maybe just put a logo of your friend. If you don't feel comfortable showing your face. You can be very creative when descending your butter. Most people have their name, their Instagram account, or their emails so they can be easily contacted. The vomer is the main thing that you will see when arriving to someone's sharp. So make sure it's eye-catching and represent your brand. Let's go and check out some accounts to find some inspiration. To create one, you can go and use Photoshop, Illustrator or come back. Make sure the size of your banner is 868 by 117 pixel. This information is given on Spoonflower right here. So don't worry, it's time to write a description. That is groups on your shop helps customers get to know you a bit better. So don't forget to fill this part out. I like to start welcoming people to my shop and telling them that they can contact me in case they wanted to modify Amy scale. I'm doing this, not to miss any sales. Some people may want a pattern on a big scale or others on every small one, letting them know that you are willing to change the scale. Maker shop more flexible. Don't forget to add your website and Instagram accounts so people can find you ECP. 5. Upload your designs: Uploading your design is very simple. First you have to click on upload your design and you go find these next to this flower logo or in your main menu. Here, you will select your design. So Spoonflower recommends uploading on 150 DPI, but I personally do it on 300 DPI. So I have more options later on. And to make sure that the quality is perfect, I will just choose a random picture to show you how it works. After selecting the picture, you have to verify their copyright bucks, you're the sign has to be 100% yours. Then you just click Upload and weight. The cool thing about Spoonflower is that you can upload up to 80 signs at once. After uploading, you will be redirected to this page. Here you will do all the editing related breathing. Are they saying? So name tags, size, and more. On the right side of your design, you will find the repeat under the same size. Here you can put smaller or bigger depending on the scale that you want to have. After you have this scale that you want, make sure to click the save this layout. If not, it won't be saved. After these, you can find the fabric that you would like for your design, but this is more for buyers and it's not necessary to change anything. And also you can choose a size and amount for your fabric. But also this is when you're going to buy your the same. At the end of this page we will sign the name, the description, and the tags for the design. These tags are very important, so make sure you use all 13 texts. These will help your buyers find your design and help you make more sales. Bowl of flour added some questions below to help you find the right tags for your pattern. You can color the theme, the style, and how it was created, the season, etc. For example, in DC sign, I described the color, the theme, and the medium that I use to create these patterns. Also, I added the places where I think this design would look good, like a nursery or in a wallpaper. Naming your pottering is also very important because it works like a big tag. Doesn't give you the science random or complicated names. Give it a name that describes the piece. For example, soft watercolor, flora. I don't find that this group shown very necessary, but you can add some information about creating your pattern, your inspiration, or some information about yourself. And deleting or the signs is very simple. First you will have to go to your design library, click on the design that you would like to delete. And then President crust. 6. Proofing your designs: Spoonflower ask sellers to prove their designs. These means printing their pottering before being able to sell it in order to make sure the colors and the quality are good enough where their claims, the way to Louis is feeling our yard. These will save you money and time. First, we need to create a collection. So click on collection on your menu and click on the plus sign. Let's name it new patterns. Right now it's empty. So let's go to our design library to, to some patterns to add. Click on the design you want to add under its name. You will be able to add it to the collection we've just created. You cannot afford it to the size to a yard. So select all of them. To feel like Yard. Go to your collection and click on start designing. Select one yard. Here. You can also choose the fabric you want. I always choose Petal Signature Cotton because she has a two-plus and needs good quality. Click on the Sign your project. Now, click on one of your patterns and then click on them to square to fill your yard. Do these until you have all of your 40 to these signs. You will have to wait until it's full flowers since the fabric to be able to the next step. Go to your These say, library and to study signs that you prove. At the another page, you will be able to mark your design as ready to sell. 7. Make more sells: The best way to make more sales on Spoonflower is to participate on telling this. Challenges are great way to keep your painting, anything going, try new things. I mean, part of your community. Challenges on Spoonflower are very popular so that you get a lot of use and potential client. This is how people will take notice of you and we'll click on your profile to see more of your designs. There are rechallenge is different, but normally they display their winning designs on their main page. This is an amazing way to get noticed. Also, the top 50 designs get automatically proved. So you don't have to print it in order to send it to participating and challenge. You just have to go to the homepage of Spoonflower. When scrolling down, you will find the challenge section and you can see the winners. When clicking on the challenge, you can see the overview, the price, and the timeline. If you participate, make sure you follow the structure. 23 are the same. You just have to click here. Or when uploading or the sign click here. You have to be consistent with your shop upload regularly and make sure that the signs have a good quality and our commercial enough. If you have these same that is very popular, you can also upload this same. You sign with a different color palette or scale. These will give more options to your clients. We assigned for the residues color palette do better in Spoonflower if inferior for the customers to use these science with reduced color palettes. So try to think about this when creating your patterns. Also tried to take notice and the commercial aspect of your patterns tried to create some patterns that you seem you would sell well. You can go to other Artesia gowns and see which buttons are the most sold and most popular. Maybe is a color, the subject or the medium that they're using that is making them trendy. But what I have found is that simple patterns sell very well. Having many likes on your design will also make them more visible. So don't be afraid to go on Instagram and ask your design friends to like your patterns and follow you. To get yourself prolene, you have to have at least 50 signs on your shop. But this is not our rule. Maybe you will need more or less. 8. How to get paid: Go to your account settings and click on spoon dollars. Here, you will find all the information about your sales and pneumonia you had me. You can keep all your earnings on the platform to buy more products from Spoonflower or two x2 more yards to prove your work. But if you want to take your money out, you will have to go to redemption details. You will be able to link your PayPal account so you can get your spoon the large transferred. But they can only transfer you the money if you have $10 or more. 9. Thank you!: I hope this class was helpful and you learn everything you need to know about starting your own shop.
