About This Class

In the class we will crochet a cute little bag which can be an accessory for dolls or for you as a keychain and I will  show how to add beautiful texture with spike stitches.  You’ll then use these skills to easily create your own crochet accessories, playing with the colors and position of the stitches, applying this texture on different crochet projects.

This class is great for any person, if you use crochet to relax or if you would like to start making something beautiful and monetize it because you can apply these skills to make your own designs with your own color and stitch combinations.

You should know how to make a chain stitch and a single crochet stitch. You can take my class for beginners Crochet Stitches for Beginners: Make a Cute Flower's Bracelet to learn it.

I will show how to use two colors in the pattern and I will give you some ideas on what else you can make with them.

All you need is a little bit of yarn of your favorite color (or several colors) and a suitable crochet hook to dive into this relaxing process.

Crocheting is not just a craft; it's a powerful tool for enhancing mental health. This meditative activity not only fosters creativity but also contributes to stress reduction, anxiety management, and alleviation of depression. The rhythmic motion of crocheting not only stimulates serotonin production but also promotes mindfulness, helping individuals stay present in the moment and cultivate a sense of inner calm.

You will be able to make beautiful handmade accessories for yourself and your family, create beautiful crochet projects and enjoy the process.

1. Introduction: Hi, my name is Olga. I'm a crochet designer, doll maker, and a teacher. I make dolls for sale, offer premium, and free crochet patterns, and share video tutorials on Youtube and Skillshare. Crocheting is not just a craft, it's a powerful tool for enhancing mental health. This meditative activity not only fosters creativity but also contributes to stress reduction, anxiety management, and elevation of depression. The rhythmic motion of crocheting not only stimulates serotonin production, but also promotes mindfulness. Helping individuals stay present in the moment and cultivate a sense of inner calm. All you need is a little bit of a, of your favorite color and a suitable crochet hook dive into this relaxing process. Throughout this class, I'll teach you the Crochet pike stitch, which is an easy crochet stitch that can be used to add beautiful texture to your project. This class is great for any person if you use crochet to relax or if you would like to start to make something beautiful and monetize it. Because you can apply these skills to make your own designs with your own colors and stitch combination. You should know how to make a chain stitch and a single crochet stitch. To follow me, you can take my class for beginners to learn it. In the class we will crochet a cute little bag. Adding a beautiful texture with spike teaches. You will see that the texture on the wrong side is also beautiful, so you can be able to choose which you like more. I will show you some ways that I found how I can use these teachers. At the end of the class, you will have a cute little bag that you can use as a chain or as an accessory for dolls. And a new relaxing crochet stitch combination that you will want to repeat more and more. 2. About the Class Project: In the class, we will crochet a cute little bag adding a beautiful texture with spike stitches. You should know how to make a chain stitch and a single crochet stitch. You can take my class four beginners to learn it. I will use cotton yarn in two colors and a suitable crochet hook for this yarn. Also, you will need a suitable needle for your yarn to hide the ends and a pair of scissors to cut the yarn. First, we will make the bottom part of the. Then I'll show how you can make spikes. Teachers of different heights. We will practice making spikes, teachers joining the second color. Then we will practice a bit more and finish the back. You will see that the texture of the wrong side is also beautiful, so you can be able to choose which you like more. To help you follow alone, you can download the written instructions in the Project and Resources tab. Please note that you can only access the stub from the web version of Skillshare, Not up. And you'll need to enter a password to open the PDF file. You can see the password on the screen. Right now, I will show some ways found how I can use these stitches. You can experiment with the colors and stitch position to achieve a unique, beautiful combination. I will keep some boring repeating or obvious parts of the process. You can also check the written instructions. But if you need my help or you have any doubts or any questions, feel free to make a new discussion. And I will be happy to assist you. At the end of the class, you will have a cute little bag that you can use as a key chain or as an accessory for dolls. And a new relaxing stitch combination that you will want to repeat more and more. Let's start. 3. Starting the Bag: Let's start. I will use this cotton yarn in two colors and 3 millimeters crochet hook. I think this yarn is perfect to practice and make this project, but you can use any yarn to do it. I will use the gray yarn to start and finish the back, and I will use the second color in the middle part f, I make a chain with chained teachers. To make the base of this project, you need the number of the chain teachers that can be divided by four. I make 12 chain teachers for the pattern and one chain up. Now I will work single crochet teachers. Around the chain, I work single crochet teachers till the last stage, I have 11 stitches. In the last stitch, I make three single crochet stitches, and on the other side of the chain, I make 11 single crochet stitches. You can hide the end into the stitches. I finished the round making a slip stitch in the chain. Here I have the bottom of the back. I have 25 stitches in total. Now make two rounds of 25 single crosst stitches walking in the back loops only. Here I have one round mate. Here is the second round made. Now I join the second color and in the next lesson we will learn how to make spike stitches. 4. Spike SIngle Crochet Stitches: Let's start this round. First, I make a single crochet stitch in the back loop. Now I make a single crochet stitch, but instead of working into the current round, I work into round below. I draw the yarn up, so the top of the stitch is in the same level as the normal single crochet stitch. The next stitch I make two rounds below the current round. The stitch will be longer, but its top is still in the same level as a normal stitch. So you can make a spike stitch as long as you want. For my design, I use only two heights of the spike stitches in this parton. I call them a medium and long spike. Now I make a medium spike and a normal single crochet stitch. And then I will repeat the same parton. After the normal stitch, I make a medium spike and a long spike. Then a medium of normal. I work this way till the end of the round, finishing with a normal single crochet stitcher. The next round with the same color, I work single crochet stitches in the back loops only, and I change the color. In the next lesson, we will alternate the order of the spikes to achieve our texture. 5. Alternating the Order of the Stitches: This round, I start with a long spike, then I make a medium spike, and then a normal single crochet stitch. From here I repeat our pattern. A medium spike, a long spike, a medium spike, and normal single cross stitch. You can use the stitches of the previous rounds as a guide. Now I make one round of single crochet stitches in the back loops only then I change the color and repeat rounds 4-71 more time. Here I have it. Let's look at the wrong site. I find it beautiful too, so you can choose which you like more or use both sides for your projects. In the next lesson, we will finish the bag. 6. Finishing the Bag: To finish the bag, I want to add handles. They're very simple. I just add chain stitches in the middle of each side or the bag. If you want, you can add one round of slip stitches around the back and the handles to make the handles stronger. Now I can cut the yarn and hide the ends. Let's look at what more you can make using spike stitches. 7. What Can You Make With Your New Skills: We learned how to make spikes, stitches of different heights, and how to combine them using different colors. You can use both sides of the project because the texture on the wrong side is also beautiful. You can add texture to your existing projects or design something new. You can even make a crochet basket on different scales. Share your tiny or big bags or any other design using spike stitches in the project section. Let's fill the project section with colorful projects and beautiful textures. Feel free to leave a review about the class. I really appreciate your opinion and I would like to know what you like and what I can improve as a teacher. If you need my help or if you have any doubts or questions, feel free to make a new discussion and I will be happy to assist you. Feel free to let me know what more you'd like to learn with me. Thank you for crocheting with me.
