1. 1 Intro: welcome everybody to depart to off the online course. Pronounce finish like a bus if you have the first time. Welcome. My name is all excellent. I'm a 28 year old finished dude, master of science and technology and also the youtuber from the YouTube channel. Alexe himself Videos about family. Nice to meet you, Andi. I will be your teacher on this course. So in the part one, we learned everything you need to know about the bubbles on the pronunciations related the wobbles and finish. And in the part two you will learn everything you need to know about the confidence. So if you haven't check out the part one. Please check out that course first and then come back to this one. So what are the concrete skills that you will learn in this court? First, we called through each of the continents in Finnish language and learn how to pronounce them like a both. And if you remember, for the part one most all the rebels had short and long sound, but for the constants, each constant have a unique short sound. But only some of the continent have a long sound. And you will learn all the necessary pronunciations with really example words. I will also give you a few tips and tricks on the way. How about the common pitfalls when it comes to pronouncing finish, especially with the concert on? You will also learn all that necessary exceptions. We have in the finished pronunciation because the Finnish pronunciation is very consistent and very phonetic. But we still have a few small exceptions here and there, and that's it. And once you go through the constants and if you already learned the world levels for the part one you have that necessary ability is to pronounce every free nous word we have. So that's pretty good stuff. And let's talk to rock and roll in the next video by covering a few important aspects about the coincidence before we start to learn actual constants. C In the next video 2. 2 Things to know: welcome to a new video. Let's kick off things with a few important things to keep in mind when it comes down to finish constants. Pronunciation wise? Well, first of all, we have 21 concerts and finished, whereas in the part one. When we went through the troubles, we had only eight level. So we have much more continents, walls and the same rule applies, which we learned in Part one. Everything's pronounced as it's written. This makes things quite straightforward and simple. The only kind of difficult thing for for ignorance usually is the double letters in the double sounds or the long sounds. But the good news is that the double sound is always indicated with the double letter, so it's really easy to distinguish they're short or the long sound shortest with one letter along with two letters. And the concept of aspiration is more important with constants, tenets, rituals. So let's quickly recap. Aspiration is this puff off air when you are speaking on how we can demonstrate aspiration Well, that's for example, Take divert Puff. I just said the puff affair, and I'll put my poem in front of my mind to say Puff puff puff. I can feel the air on my palm. This is aspiration, but in finished we have pretty much non existent aspiration. Unfortunate carpenter in English. We have quite a bit off aspiration for eternal pop pop pop puff on, for example, Letters K, P and T in English have a very strong aspiration. Wherein finish, we have no expression. This is usually compete ful. But I will teach you the aspiration once we reach those letters, everything you need to know one thing of what Childs want quickly point out that we have a number of this foreign letters on this R, B, C, F, Q, W, X and Z, and these are letters that originally didn't exist back in the days and finish. But we're brought to finish, you know, once things could little bit globalize more international, especially with the loan words on this official letters in the finished outfit. We will also go through this in this course. That's pretty much all we need to know. Now we are ready to rob on take or first Constance in the next video. See, there 3. Consonants D & G: Welcome to a new video in this Well, let's take two continents D and G and learn does. Let's start with D and the finish T is just like how pronounced David innings like David David. Let's take, for example, words. For example, See Day. See that? See that See Death C Day CD or G Day, Key Day, G Day or Theoden? The year Dan the air down. So that's the day sound. Nothing too crazy. Just like how you pronounce David in English and Double D is very rare in Finnish. But there are few I found, actually a few words that you might see somewhere, but pretty much you don't see it is that much? For example, are Dick deal our dick dio on Dick Dio? Dick deal. Dismiss addiction. But as you can see, this is also clearly alone. Word on. Usually these loan words might have double double D in Finnish. So that's it. Nothing really new in this one. If you know how the pronounce David in English, you should be good with this one, and let's next. Let's take the letter G, and you would pronounce this just like you would pronounce the English would get, like, get get, get flexion with protective Bird, Gorell, Gorell, Gorell, Gorell Pretty simple or Garzelli. Gossel. Gasoline. So that's it. I couldn't even find a word which would have double G in Finnish. It's highly likely that you don't never even see double G and finished. There are actually a few exceptions, the G but we will learn that later in discourse. Good stuff, guys. We just learned. Or first continents on. We are on your way to master the finish. Constance. Good stuff. Let's let learn more in the next video. See that? 4. Consonants H & J: welcome to a new video. Let's learn to more confident in this one. And let's start with that letter age again, like in English. For example, if we discovered Hello hello, hello. So it's It's just kind, like this puff of air that comes like hello. For example, Hendry friendly Hendley. Hand finished guy's name Hen or hostile hearts. So, Haas. So Hoster's like this, miss funny. So that's it. Remember, H is the only finish letter that has aspiration, if you remember from the part. One aspiration is this puff off air that comes out of your amount when you're pronouncing. So if you put your palm in front of your mountains a hostel hostel, you can feel a slight puff of air in your Paul. And this is aspiration as presents, wary light in Finnish. But if you can't really remember how that sprays and stuff work, Dover, because we will focus on that later on this course and also double age is very rare. You don't really see it actually found one kind of funny word where we have actually double age, that is, he Cooley. He coolly, he coolly, he coolly so as you can see I'm prolonging their age sound. He coolly he I don't say he holy because then the short sound is too short. He sure again, Double aids is where and I'm pretty sure you want. You are not going to say that much. Next. Let's take the letter J. And the sound is exactly the same as you would pronounce. Yes, In English. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Just know that the letter is quite different because in English it's Why would Ian finish Che? But the sound is exactly the same. For example, your your your your you're dismissed like yeah or yes or your city. You're sick. You're sick. This is a Finnish guy's name for Keely Kayleigh. You're Gilly, you are. This means to scream. Gilly, you are Keely, your good stuff. Double J is pretty much non existent. You don't really see finish words which would have double J. But there is one very interesting exception or kind of special case to this double change. Let me read you out. Few first for you. And pay attention to the chase. Sound we Oh, yeah. Do we Les? Yeah, Les Yeah. Lay my Yeah, my year my year did you see what happened there? So the word is actually returned with one J. But the sound itself is actually double Jay. So what's going on? I've been teaching you that finish. It's always pronounces it's written, but this is clearly not the clay. So what the hell is going on here? But don't worry. This is only one minor exception this rule. So if the J is preceded by a different that chase actually pronounced double, if you remember from the part, one different consists off to different levels in the same syllable. And this is the case, for example, invert to Yeah, we have to have a different we before the shape on, because this is the case that Jay's actually pronounced double. So for him, I'm not saying do you? Do you? Oh, yeah, that's that's not correct. I say, Do we? Do we we okay on this is just a very small exception, and even if you would use them short sound if you're going to be okay, because there is no risk off getting misunderstood, it's so clear out of the context. And there are no other words that could conflict with the conduct in any way on. Even if you don't remember this rule, that's okay, because there are only a handful of words which applied this rule, So it's not really that common. But you might encounter this everyone slum. Also, it's group at least good to keep in mind. Okay, we learned to concerts again. We're doing good stuff and let's learn more in the next video. So you're there. 5. Consonant L: Welcome to a new video, Let's Focus on or Next Continent and that is the Continent. L. And the sound is exactly the same in English as you would pronounce Lauren Lauren, Lauren Lauren, for example, if we take the word lost sex, Los lusts that lost unless there's a finished guy's name or follow follow Moloch. This means a fire on Ellis, one of this Constance, which have a lot off double L words and finish. Let's look at a few of those, for example. If I say Moul Moul Moul, move more. Move. See how I'm prolonging the sound mul. I don't say Mullah Mullah. That's wrong, Mole Mullah, But you just prolong the l A. Sound a little bit, too. Make it double pretty simple. Another one is again ill. Can it can? Can l can l This means best like Who has? Or we can also say, Paul, Hello, Hello, Ball ball, part of Lucas Miss a ball producing Bullen straight stuff. And also let's take a few. I think this these are called minimum pairs. So what? This means that the word can the meaning off the world can change depending few years too short or long sound. Let's look at a few of those fractional we have. Divert Paula Bala. Follow this means like a fire or burn would even say Pollo bottle. It's a ball So quick. Recap follow. Hello, Barlow. Follow another one kilo. Kayla. Kayla. But if I say kill, kill Gil, Kill Gil. This means a clock or watch. Hello, Kill. Hello, girl. Killer girl. Look, another one. Really, really, very really. Really? Really. But if I say really, really verily well, well comparison. Really? Really. Valley lift. Really, really good stuff. Let's take one more because I think this is important to distinguish the difference off these words fully. Cooley Fully. Julie, this means fire. But if I say normally, cool. Cool it, tool. If this means customs, Julie pulled Cool. It don't look cool it to live. Okay. Good stuff on this one. Let's learn more in the next video. See? There 6. Consonant M: Welcome to a new video. Let's focus on your next bubble, and that is the bubble M. And the sound for the letter M is just like Harvard use pronouncing English, for example. Mistake, mistake, mistake. So it's this. It's this sound. It's the same in Finnish. For example, Miss Miss, Miss, Miss, This means where or if I say dummy Tommy, calm me the Army, Tommy or move, Move more Move for UMA Duma, Touma, Puma, UMA and the M is also one of doors letters, which have lots off words with double M and the double M sounds again made by just prolong into short sound. So it's the sort. Sounds like the long one is like, Mm mm, for example, um Doom. Let's practice the double M with minimum Paris again. Comey stomach Tommy, dummy. But if I say dumb thumb thumb, Um, may I think this means spoke? Duma doma, Doma Duma, UMA Doom Boom Doom Doom Doom and one more soma suma foma Suma so. But if I say assume I assume I assume, assume, assume, assume okay with the double M. I'm just prolonging the m sound. Assume, assume good stuff. We completed this lesson and see you in the next 7. Consonant N: welcome to a new video and Let's Take or Next continent, and that is the constant in and again, the sound is very simple. Just how you would say nice, nice, nice in English. So it's that examples. Son or so nor son, nor son or son or or summer sauna. So no So no Sana Santa. Many minute many, many, many men. The letter and has also quite a bit off double and words. Let's look at those. And to make the double and sound, you just prolong the single and sound for the simple Let's do it, son, Son, son, son, Some son, Men, men, men, men, men, men or mean I mean I mean I mean I mean I mean, that's it. Not that difficult, right? And I found a few of these minimum pairs with the letter n Let's look at those. Sana. Sana, Sana, son of son, son, son, son. Another one. Penny Benny. Many Benny, Benny Benny Been been Ben. Been Ben been okay, if you ask me this minimum pairs with continents are not as common as they were in the bubbles, which we checked out in the part one, so you might still run into these every once in a while, but I don't think it's going to be a big problem. But you will be fine as long as to remember the rule that one single sound This with one letter on double sound is with two letters. If you just keep that in mind, you'll be good. Good stuff from this one, see in the next video. 8. Consonant R Intro: was a welcome to a new video, and today we will focus on one of the most complicated Constance and Finish. And that is still letter are on what this means. Let me just give a quick demonstration. Rest, rest, rest. So that's that Finished are so we kind of have to roll or tongue to do that on before we go into the real words, I first want to give you like a quick tutorial. How you can learn and practice your finish are so let's quickly compare. For example, the English are on their finish. Our fraction. Let's take the rain, rain, rain, rain That's things are the finish. Our is Ray Stop resto Wow. So I think it's a little bit different. The finish are it's just a little bit stronger on next. Let me teach you one way how you can actually learn this. There are some other ways, and if you feel this doesn't really work for you, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube. You can just Google, for example, how to create your ours, how to roll your R. That's plenty after Tora, so you can cry one of those and see if it works for you, but let me show you one way. So once more, let me show how this sounds Sounds Seems like Okay, it sounds kind of funny. And some speculated were the things that your tongue is kind of like flapping or y braiding in that into concealing off your mouth. And this is called in linguistics. This is called Let me just see what's the word? It's called Al Abeel R Flap all of your letter flap on here. You can see like a screen how it looks like and which position your tongue should hit or which part your tongue should hit in order to get this all their lower flap on. Let's go through this by step by step. So first I'm just blowing air out of my mouth like like this. And the next point is I'm going to add the Olivero tap, but how you get your tongue to hit that rights. But well, the good news is that if you speak English like you probably do, if you're watching this course, you actually know how to do this already. Did you know that? Actually, that's true. So friction. Let's take the word butter, butter, butter See where your tongue hits when you're pronouncing two double T butter Bader border so your tongue is actually hitting the right spot when you're pronouncing butter. Also, the same thing applies when you are pronouncing better. Better. Better pay attention to your tongue when you're prancing is better. Bender. Better see, So that's the spot. So how can we combine this store? Finish are so let's go through this step by step Alexa Method. Let's talk it out. So first I'm just blowing air out of my mouth. Like like that and next part I'm doing the same, but I'm also putting my tongue so that all the roller tap position Okay, I can't don't do this very long before running out of bread. So once more. Okay, So as you can see, when my time hits the spot, I'm still blowing air. The air comes out of my kind of the part where the tongue is. The people of my tongue is hitting, so that's why it's kind starts kind of like flapping. And that's where the vibration comes. And that's where the sound comes. So now we have toe tap down on now. I just at the sound. So let's check it out. Uh, waste Ah, at least the rest of the stuff. Okay. And this is difficult, but you don't probably get this right, unless you speak like Spanish or Italian. Mr. Native legs, for those you have even stronger are then in Finnish. But if you don't get this down right, don't worry, because this will take time on, you know, languages, language. That's a skill that you don't really learn by that you have to put two hours off practice to do this. But the good news is that even if you don't get this right down from the start, you don't really sound that much a native or like you don't sound off even if your are is more like the English are when we are speaking, Finish that rolling are isn't really that strong. Let me give you an example. Ray Stone, right bonnet on an Ray Stone, right bonnet. Anna Graystone rape on it. And I'm not saying, like restored rape on then and restore or rape are then and we don't really say that. It's kind of like a really, really kind off. I wouldn't say week but just like a quick tap toe the r and then we just go keep going off course when you get to the double R, then you have to put a little bit more emphasis to death. For example, left, take the let's take the word Allah on This means arrow means just the letter R in Finnish. Ara are so in double ours. You have to put a little bit more emphasis because you have to prolong the sound. You can try this technique or if it didn't work for you, just go to YouTube and try to watch a few tutorials. There's plenty of them there and see if you can find one that works for you. And if you do it, just let me let me know in the comments because we call to shared is useful. Resource is to all of our learners here and in the next video, let's take some example words and practice more or four. Finish our see there 9. Consonant R Exercise: one of people. Welcome to a new video. So no, we got started with our Let's take some example words and see how the are works in practice . For example, let's take the word Guerra Guerra Gogia Gogia Go era Go here this is dog. And as you can see, I'm not really putting that much emphasis on the our. It's like Boom! And then we're going on. Next one is a rule rule room roll call. Roll go. What role go? This means like a pot, but the double R is definitely something that can give you a little bit pain in the in the rear. Let's take a fear example. Works with double are the one we had in the previous one. Let's take it again because it's I think it fits the corn conduct very well. After that. Out of that adult out of Okay, well, this is the letter R bottling. Bottom of them. Bottom line, bottom part of run bottom line is like Baird's, like the genital form off the word Baird food. Who who is God? God through God? God And luckily, they are not so many the minimum Paris. But I found a few. For example, Gatherer Gary Scatter Guy guy. Oh, God! Oh, it's like smoke basically on the one we have just a moment ago. Carol. God! God! So let's combine. Got her. God got her. Got it. Gather God of the good stuff. One more Hera header. Head up, Head up! Header Head up on Hera head over. Harrell. Hera, Hera. Hera. Hera. Hera, Head of Okay, so there are can be a little bit tough, but keep practicing, keep pressing. And also keep listening. When you are speaking with the finish person, how they use their are and you will learn this over time. I'm sure about it because first of all, you know how to do the tap from this butter better. And now you have to apply that skill to produce a little bit different kind of sound. But pretty much over time you can learn this. I'm sure thanks for checking out this video. See, in the next one 10. Consonant S: welcome guys to new video today we will focus on the letter s on. Luckily, this is again a very simple for pretty much everyone because the sound is exactly like it's in English. For example, let's take the English where sound sound sound sound And it's exactly the same in Finnish, for example, Summey, Summey Summey saw me saw me Summit finish guys name or Gaza Gaza, Gaza Go. So go suck. Got some. This means a pile. Sorey Sorey Sorey So great. So right. This means big in a little bit more formal way One more Kisa Kisa Kisa He suck key, sir. Some kind of competition on with the double sound. You just have to prolong that sound. For example, let's take the word kiss peace. He's keys case. This means a cat. Good stuff. That's a good work. Costs costs Gauss. Goss costs costs of this maze. I think it's like a cast register or the cash point where you have to pay inflexible grocery stores on. For example, you will be using this double sound a lot when you get more into the grammar and flexible the intensive case that ending off the NSF cases S s R s s a or SS app. So you will be pronouncing double s quite a bit. For example Talos Dallas dollars. They are lost, son. The loss Something in the house on at the end. Let's take a few of these minimum pairs again. There's a few off them with the letter s actually recovered a few of this already, but Renson repeat is to keep the mastery for example Casa Gaza Casa. But if I say costs, Goss costs Gaza. Costa Karsa cost son Karsa costs good stuff or Kisa kiss up. Okay, So where is this Kiss this kiss Kisa. This Husa kiss kisser Kiss good stuff on one more masa masa muscle masa Must my size usually a nickname for people whose name is. But if I say must I must say must must sell Must this miss mess Masa must masa must masa must. Okay, so s is very simple again. The same rules apply If you just remember. If you say that long, Yes, you just kind of keep pronouncing like you don't make a break days. It's like keep going to make it to double sounds good stuff on this video. See in the next one 11. Consonant V: next we have the letter V again very, very straightforward and simple. The sound is exactly the same as you would say in the English word Vice by It's like, Why expression? And, for example, vice. So it's like Vice Vice. Let's take a few example Works, visas, visas These US Weise, us The Justice Miss Weiss or Cuba Cuba Guba, Hoover, Kula This means like a photo. And again we have a like a very small exception. Let's check that one out as well. There's a little bit difficult explain, but you understand once I show you an example. So, for example, if we have to bird vawa and, yes, secrecy, it has the different out. If we have a diff tongue which ends with the U preceding the letter, we we again end up saying that double we instead off singularly, even if it's written with only one week. Okay, let's pronounce this and you'll see how it works. Pay attention to the week Wow, Vova vulva, vulva, Volver So I'm actually prolong into double B V a little bit, even if it's actually Singler V in written form. The following when I'm going to it's the wrong way, Bowa lower well compared to the real one lobe. Well, let's take a quick another example. We have, for example, about Sour, which means like a stick, for example. There's a few meanings, so, so so so I don't say so well, so so again, the difference is actually wear it small. It could be even really difficult to distinguish if you're just getting started. But luckily, there is no risk off getting misunderstood when you pronounce this word, whether it's the short or the long one, it doesn't really matter because Finnish people will 100% understand fucking with you say the word of Allah. They will definitely understand what you're talking about, so you don't really have to worry about that this much. But this is more like kind of advanced detail, which you can work on later once you get all the basics done. But remember, this is just kind of like a small off this view exceptions we have in the finished pronounce it and what's kind of weird again that we don't really have words with double V. So it's kind of weird that we have actually exception where we actually pronounce short we ? That's a long way in a word. Kind of weird stuff, right? Good stuff on this one and see the next video. 12. KPT INTRO: good job, guys. We've learned almost all the confidence we have tree more left on this, our core bay and they on. Actually, these constants have a little bit, few extra details that we need to keep an eye on when we are pronouncing this and especially if we look this Look at this at the English speaking perspective. But don't worry, this are not any particle difficult, But this is a few things we need to keep in mind when we are pronouncing this on. As always, I will teach you everything you need to know. So let's start to learn these tree constants in the upcoming videos. See you there. 13. Consonant K: Welcome to a new video. Let's learn the constant K in this video on Before we jump into this this continent, let's quickly recap what the concept off aspiration means. To put it very simply, aspiration is this Puff off air when you are speaking, for example, attacked the English word kiss case, and now put your your poem in front of your mouth and try to say Kiss like they were English Word, case, case, case, case you can. You should feel like a small puff of air in your park case, and this is aspiration, to put it very simply on. If you also remember what we learned it apart. One finish has pretty much no aspiration except in the letter age. But now let's something that constant. K. That finish K is exactly how it's in the word English word kiss kiss, but without the aspiration. So this is important. You have to take out the aspiration. Let's take a few example words. For example, Gupta, kuka, kuka, kuka, kuka, a native English speakers usually tend to pronounce, like kuka kuka cooker with the aspiration, because any list aspirations very strong, a very percent. But in Finnish it's not. You have to make the same sound, but without putting the aspiration there. So you said you don't say Kucha. You say kuka on this very easy way to practice this. So if you'll feel the air on your palm, then you have to express it and you have to get rid of the aspiration if you want to make it sound like a real finish, pronounces Guga Gupta. Coca Gupta koka, koka, koka. So this is important. Let's take a few more examples. Condo gone, gone, gone, gone con. This means stump like a tree stump on again. I don't say canto canto current. No aspiration. Keep that in mind. Another one. Miko Miko, Mika Miko, Mikel Mikel This the finish kind guy's name. And again we don't say Miko Mikel Mika. No aspiration on case. Another constant, which has a lot off this double K words. So let's learn those next. Also, with this K P. T, which we are learning now, there's a small detail when it comes down to their double letter pronunciation, for example, let's quickly recap today. Letter s if you remember. That s sounds like on the couple s is just your prolonging like fraction with a kiss. He said kiss. So you just basically prolong it to make the sound. But with the K, for example, Now we're learning to K this. You don't really actually do that. Let's take an example and see you see what I mean? Pay attention to mind up. Okay, Good. Gupta, you got this Means flower. Could you see what happens when I'm pronouncing it up? OK, I'm not actually prolong it directly like an s. But instead of making, like, a small pause there, So when you are making that up, Okay, you just kind of like sick because it's actually really difficult to say that, actually, but instant, you make this small pause. Good God, Good God. Let's take, for example, my hometown where I'm originally from Go Gola Go cola go collar, go Cola and again, Same stuff I'm making, like, a small pause when I'm reaching the double K. I want more meat. Go, Me, God make God me. God meet. All right. Good stuff. Did you understand what I said? Let's take the minimum pairs again and you'll should see the difference. For example, the one we're we just covered Kuka, Gupta. Kuka, Kuka, Kuka versus Gupta. You got Gupta. Kuka, You got kuka. You got Kuka. Go Got good stuff. Let's take a few more. Mico Mika! Mikel Mikel May God me go May God! And now comparison Miko, make Got Mika make up Mikel. Okay, Good stuff, guys. So there's two things you should keep in mind with K and also p and T once we reach those. So first of all, no aspiration. Remember no aspiration at all when you are pronouncing the K sound because the sound is exactly the same as an eggless put without aspirations. So keep that in mind. The 2nd 1 is that when you are making the double sounds, it's not like a continuous sound instead or there's like a small break so you don't like because that's actually difficult to say. So I don't think you can even make mistakes because you can't really make that sound like the continuous step. Okay, so you have to make it there, make that kind of a small posters, Okay, not that much difficult. There's a few extra things we have to keep in mind, but luckily those are not that difficult and we practice. You should learn that in no time. So good stuff. Now we learn to K. Now let's move on to the P and see you in the next video. 14. Consonant P: good stuff, guys. Let's take the constant p and learn that in this video. So the same rules apply, like in K. So the finish sound is just like in English. For example, if it that if we take the word peace, peace, peas. But again, we have to get rid of the S brace. And we can easily use that Paul method, for example, about Napa. Not, but no, But no. But number I don't say not Pop Napa know pop again If you get the aspiration. If you are like a English speaker, American English and so on, you might have this problem at the first, but you should easily get get past this. Once you practice a little bit. I'm not actually sure how this would be in other languages like German friends, Spanish and so on. But but as long as you keep in mind that in finished no aspiration, you should be good to go. Another word. Your boss, your bus, your purpose, your bus, your bus, big gun, big guy, make big gun. They got finished guy's name and now we move on the double p. Same stuff again. Applies. You make like a small pause when it when you re it's a double P. Let's take a few examples, for example. No, but no. But no. But no, but no. But this is the bad guy from wrecking ball. See, It's actually not the real Finnish word, but this is how we were pronounced sexually and in English. It would say this Napa, not part, not public. You don't say that. You say no. No, but no. But good stuff. Another one. But be well, baby. But Big Bob, Bob, baby. But, baby, this makes a priest important work or another one. Not be no way. No way, no hey, no big good stuff. I couldn't actually find many minimum pairs for P, but there's a few and we actually covered this. But for the sake of practice, let's practice this number. Number, number, number number. No, but no. But no, no, never not, but number. No, but not about no good stuff. Trouble. What happened? A couple. A couple. A couple up a lot drop book and now comparison couple. But apple are up, wrapped up. Good stuff. Good stuff, cause we just nailed the letter p. And now we have only t lift. And let's nail that t in the next video. See you there 15. Consonant T: Welcome to another video. We are down to the last continent, and that is the constant T. Good news again, guys. The sound is exactly the same as an English, but without aspiration for Cummings. But tell tail tail. But we have very strong expression tail tail, but we have to get rid of that. Let's take a few example. Words and finish told me, told me, told me, Don't me told me to This a finish. Guys name and again you don't say. It's like told me, Comey told me. You don't say like no as protection, Don't me, dummy or motto. Motto, Marta. Motto, motto this missile work on with the double T again, we have the same thing. When you get the double t, you just make like a small post. For example, my daughter much. Don't my doctor Ma carpet or got doc got the God don't got go got this Mr Roof on. Let's take a few more minimum pairs again to compare the short and the long sound. Montel Motto, Motto Ma ma ma the matter My motto Ma ma ma Muta Moto Mota Mota! Mota Move more, more moot, Mota. More Mota more Mota. More. One more, Lord Luke. Lord Lord Luke! Lord Law Lou, look. Lord Lord! Lord! Lord! Lord Lord, Good stuff. Gas. We just went through all the continents in Finnish. Language on now. Pretty much, you know, all the sounds you need to pronounce every word in Finnish. But actually, there's still a few things I want you to teacher in this course, and those are a few exceptions. We have. We actually covered a few exceptions going to go. But this is a few minor kind of important ones that you might steal can come across every once in a while, so it's important to know those. So in the next video, let's let a few of those rare exceptions we have in the finished pronunciation system. See you there. 16. Exception NG: What's up, guys? Welcome to a new video, and in this one we will go through a few exceptions, which we have the finished pronounces and system. And the 1st 1 is the NJ combination. Let's take a few example words toe nail this down. If you've been listening at all what I've been trying to teach you in these courses finish is pronounced as it's written would pay special attention to the NGS sound when I'm pronouncing this word for you. And the words is this gang it gang King gang yet gang yet King, Do you see something different here? So if you remember, finishes pronounces Fritton. If that rule applied here, I would pronounce this word like this can get, can get, can get can get do see the difference can get gain yet can get getting yet can get gang It's kind of the same stuff that happens with the difference So the first sounds slides into the 2nd 1 and the same xx stuff happens here. And do you know what's the other good news we have? You already actually know this sound because this is exactly the same sound as you have covered in the English word sing Seeing seeing you see how they're NT sound goes seeing so pretty much it's exactly that. Let's take another example Warning us, Corning, US, Corning, US Corning, US Groaning us, Kooning, Justice. Mr King. Let's take 1/3 example Gun Deng Deng Gung tongue Deng Deng dismissed tango. Okay, so that's it. So what do you need to keep in mind is that you don't say it like Don Go can go tongo So you don't obey the easy rule that everything's pronounced as it's written when you get the n g sound on another good news. What we have is that this n G combination is actually quite rare. You You might hear it maybe once a day. If you're lucky, you don't really come across this quite often, But let's just say every once in a while let's take one more for the failing. So, for example, monk among among Mon Mom among on this mince mango off course, the fruit. Okay, so we just learned another small exception in the Finnish, Pino says. Since system on that, it's the NGOs sound on another exception, which we have is that g e and sound so if we flip the letters with each other, we get another combination, and that also is a few exceptions. And let's learn those in the next video, well, there. 17. Exception GN: What's up, guys? Welcome to another video. So today let's look at the G n combinations on the pronunciation around that for example, we have two bird seeing, gnarly seeing, gnarly, seeing knowledge, seeing Nolly seeing knowledge. So again, I'm the G is kind of sliding into the end sound. Let me also pronounce you this the wrong way. Cygan, Ali Signally, signally, signally. Do you see how I'm actually pronouncing all the sounds in a row like you always do and finish? But in this case, you don't The correct one is seeing gnarly sing gnarly and let's do inspector back seeing gnarly signally singing gnarly, signally singing gnarly Signal it. Okay, so again it's kind of like your slide d In the end, another one is among in that among there among that again, I don't say this Margon it Margon it margon it that this is incorrect. I say mangan, it mangan it on good news again is that even if you make mistakes or you don't get this down right into start, there's no way off being misunderstood if you use the if your pronunciation is a little bit off. So that's the good news on another thing to keep in mind. These words are very rare. Only I think there's not even 10 words would have this g n. But every once in a while you might encounter there, so keep this in mind. But however, we have also few exceptions to this exception. But like I said, the words are very rare. That has this. But let's have a look. A few of this exception off the exception. For example, the word D og nor see deok North Sea D OG nos diagnosis. And another one is ghanassy grenades. Goodness, this is the type off rock or stone? Yeah, type off top of stone, basically. But these two words are very unique, kind of isolated from the rules. But luckily, you don't even probably need these two words in your everyday life. But this is more like kind of advance things to know good stuff. Guys were pretty much covert. All you need to know for the finish pronunciation I know we just need to recap what we learned so far. See, under recap video 18. Foreign Letters B & C: Let's start with that letter B on how you pronounce this. It's just like an English like like, for example, like banana and finish in English banana Bargnani Bonanni burn on and that's it, Just like in English on Double B. It's very rare, pretty much non existent, but I actually found one one word Where we have is is love boat, love boat, love boat, love boats. And as you can see, I'm actually prolonging that sound a little bit. Love bows, look, bows, and that's it, that's what. Letter B. There's nothing really new to this. If you know how to say banana in English or I think it's the same in many other languages as well. You can pretty much nail this down next. Let's focus on the letter C. This is one off the small, very small exceptions we have in Finnish, Bruno says. And on what this means, that there's actually two cases or two ways how you can pronounce the sea and finish. But you already know they saw this. Ah, pretty simple first cases that if the sea is in front or front or middle level, the sound is like see instant divert English for center. Let me give you a concrete example so we can understand this better. Let's take the word. Cecilia! Cecilia! Cecilia! Cecilia! So, as you can see, that letter C is in front, off the middle level e. On Because this is the case, we use that sound. Foresee, Cecilia Cecilia. Another example is sells years past Celsius US, Celsius, Austin and because he's again the middle level, we used to sound two years to put in case the seas in front, off a back global or a continent. The pronunciation changes a little bit. For example, disco, This God disco. This means that disco, of course. But as you can see, the letter C is in front of the letter O. So it changes to, like, sound disco, this guy. But this is really simple stuff, because even if they're pronounced sessions pretty much the same as in English disco, disco, discover or if we said the word Costa Costa course stuff. And as you can see now we have again the letter o just after the cease overused Costa. Okay. And this is like a very small exception. I don't believe that you will see this that often. But this is some good information to keep in mind. OK, in the next video, let's take a few more continents and focus on those. See that? 19. Foreign Letters F Q W X Y Z: Let's take a few more confidence in this video, and they suffer simple. Let's take the F the F sound. As for the sound of the letter, and the sound of this is like just like in English and the way you pronounce this is just exactly how do you say fish innings fish face. For example, let's take the word pharmacy pharmacy farthest sick and actually found one word with double F. But you don't really see double efs. That's that common. More fencing, more fencing, more friends and just a quick reminder again. When we have a double constant, you can prolong the sound. So in this case, you pro just prolonged the F. Some more friends, more friends. You don't say more fencing because then the shortest, the sound is too short. You have to say more friends, more fencing, good stuff. And that's a really simple and next like let's take the cue to let their cue the sound. It's like, just like pretty much just like a you know, there's this country called is Qatar in English, Qatar and then finish we to say Qatar got on got daughter and that's it. So Q is very rare. You don't really see that much, but in some cases you might see it next. Let's take to double you really simple stuff. This is pretty much pronounced just like the regular V on, for example. We have the unit off. I think it's unit off power. What? And then finish its but the but they but the but the and that's it. W really rare. You don't really see it that much, but it's still too cute to know how to pronounce the next Let's take the letter X Really, really simple. Just like Harvard. You're saying English like Taxi Taxi X Tax six asks. Taxi Also. One thing to keep in mind is that we don't really use X in Finnish instead of right K s. But basically it's the same sound as it would be like an X like in English or with ks in finished like, for example, silly dolly Silly Billy Silly Italy like Sillitoe or silly or funny Selloff on Sula fully like Cilla phone. So simple stuff. Nothing too crazy. But not last but not least, we have the letter the And as for the sound in to finish the the sound is exactly like the ts in divert cats. It's cats, cuts, cuts, for example, sort. It's order. It's ordered. It's order. Wrong, sorcerer. So in initial my parents like Zorro. But in finished, it's like TS like sort of. It's order in the English for pizza you have, like a double Z and then finish. You can actually quite often see this also return with tub doubles because I think it's it looks like kind of cooler, but we're still still pronounce it this finish way, and it's like pizza pizza beats up pizza pizza. That's probably the only kind of common foreign letter you might see in Finnish like the especially with the pizza. And that's all you need to know about this foreign letter. So they are quite straightforward, quite simple. There's nothing too much to kind of worry about. The sea was kind of like there was a few exceptions, but even this letter C is like where we rarely used, so you don't really have to worry about that at all. So good stuff and let's learn more in the next video. See you there 20. Recap: What's up, people? Welcome to the recap video. We're almost there. We've almost covered everything you need to know about the Phoenix continents. And today let's just recap what we learned so far. Firstly, we learned that all the letters in Finnish are voiced, including continents. Exactly what's we learned it apart? One but the's. This rule also applies to constant, so everything is pronounced as it's written on. This applies the confidence as well. Secondly, we learned that all continents have short sound, but only some off this have long sound. We also learned that the letters B, C, F, Q, W X and the are actually four ng, which or actually didn't exist in Finnish but have been adopted to finish because of the globalization and stuff on, have exactly the same pronunciation as their English counterparts. Most of the contents have actually the same sound as they have in English, so that actually the sounds are not that kind of weird or four ng your mouth, but the only thing where we have to pay a little bit more extra attention where core bay and dead and there were two things that we have to keep in mind. First of all, the sound is exactly the same as in English. Put without aspiration, and one was aspiration. It was this puff off air. When you are speaking Andi in English, the KP and T have very strong aspiration, but in finished, they don't have any aspiration onto practices easily. You can just put your hand your poem in front of your mouth on when you're speaking the words with KP and tea and finish, and if you get the aspiration, then you have a little bit more work to do. But if you don't feel any puff of air, then you're pretty much doing well. And we also notice that three of these continents have a few exceptions. But luckily they are very minor on Very seldom you come across this, but it's still that could keep this in mind while you're speak. The most notable exception were is the N. G and also the G N. On the good news is that now that you've learned all the sounds in Finnish, you can pronounce pretty much every word but most likely still into kind of practice to make it like small it and kind of slap sound like native, but pretty much. These are all the sounds that you need in Finnish to make finish speech. Basically. So that's pretty good stuff. And that being said, we are done with this course. Good stuff, guys. I hope you managed to I hope you had some good time fun learning this continents. And I would appreciate it, Aton, if you left a small quick Reavie off this course what was scared? What I could have done better so I can improve on make even better courses for you in the future. And that's it. Thank you, guys. If you made all the way to the end of this course, you guys are fantastic. And I hope I'll see you in the future Causes. Thank you, K Toxicological Nadon tomorrow.
