1. 01 Welcome: Hi, my name is George, and in today's course you will learn how to paint this wonderful fit. There is a lot of enjoyment in illustrating simple thing. The boldness of color and the simplicity of drawing gives a certain magic to the artwork. This is a very simple illustration. All you need is the Apple pencil, the iPad, and the procreate app. You will learn everything you need to know about shading, about drawing, and about color mixing to create a wonderful Golden Fish. Making this illustration will feel easy and relaxing whether you are a beginner or you have illustrated before in Procreate, this course has everything you need to know in order to have a successful illustration with all of that being said, welcome to the course. 2. Color pallet: You can start by making a beautiful canvas. Canvas will be 6000 by 5000 pixels. And just like that, 5000, this will give you four layers or more, depending on the type of iPad you have. And straight up going into the colors, adding a new palette, you will find this ballot under the Resources page of the course. Or if you want to just created as we go along in this video, making a beautiful gray. It has a tiny bit of blue in it. And then a medium gray and a black. After that, you're going to go into an orange. Just move the color to an orangey yellow spot. And then let's move and saturated quite a bit, make it a little bit more light and a tiny bit more orange. A very vibrant orange, just like that has been created. And going in and making it a little bit more yellow and the saturated just a tiny bit to make a lighter yellow. Now going in and making darker brown just like that. And making it a little bit more pink. Just putting it over here and a bit lighter, just over here. And for the last color, making it just a tiny bit lighter. Perfect. Now, all the colors are done. Let's move them into a row so they're nice and tidy. Okay? Moving it to the right side over here and then picking another color and adding get just over here. Very clever program. It just puts everything in place. Perfect. And that's all the colors. 3. Shape and drawing: And now let's go into the next step. Just pick up a beautiful brush, go under artistic to just going under artistic. And you will find the brush called hertz. And let's first make it to us that about 25, 30 percent and select the orange. Now, just drawing a small beautiful line, this is called blocking in. This step will help you to have a shape to draw on. So you don't draw on blindly. It's a very simple shape, as you can see it. It's almost a triangle that has some curves instead of pointy angles. And then just to add a little bit of variety, adding a curve at the top to indicate the beautiful spine going around the fish. Okay. And a line at the top to connect them all. Okay. Let's drop in a color, picking up the color and what I'll letting go. And let's try again. Okay, undo. And without picking up the pen, we can reduce, reducing it will make, we'll make the color just right. Okay, this is the blocking and you can go into the eraser and pick up the same brush and refine those shapes just a tiny bit to make the mouth a little bit more angular. Okay, super simple and easy to do. Let's move that shape in the center. And once you've done that, you can go in and add another layer. This layer will be called drawing. Drawing. Perfect. And let's go and select the lightest gray going in to inking and selecting syrup. The streamline of the syrup is at about 84, just so it makes it easier to have flowy lines starting at the mouth. Just go below and add a simple rounded shape. Now going in for where the fish breeds. Then going in for the mouth with two beautiful mountains or hills, and then a circle to indicate the line. And in the back you can see the other eye and two more lines around the circle to accentuate the shape of the eye. Okay? Now going in, you will see these kinds of lines. You can do them as an S Just like that. Or you can also add ds on the top. So this creates a lot of variety in the drawing. So for instance, over here, you can add curve just going in. So it starts in and then it goes out. Just like that, connecting them over here. And they create just a beautiful shape. On the bottom you can start to see just making the shape chunk here with the same kind of curvature of the line. And then going into some S's are a little bit of shape just to indicate where the head starts. Adding a little bit more chunk to the fish just over here at the back. And for the top to starting another curve to indicate the shape going to the left. Okay. Just like that, selecting both layers, Let's move them a little bit to the right so you'd have enough space for the fins and the beautiful tail. Okay, At the top you can start to see fin appearing just like that with the curves and alternating into a hill and valley and then inhale and an underwater hill. So it's very easy to alternate these kinds of lines and it's a very good practice, okay? And a small curve to indicate where the fin meets the body of the fish. Okay. Going and moving, making a little bit of a smaller fish. And just like that, positioning it over here, indicating a little line where the stomach of the fish just ends and the tail begins and a curve just like that. This is a very simple shape. All it's happening here is we're adding at the bottom of the triangle. Triangle with the curved angles. We're just adding some pizzazz, some curtain like curves. And that's how easy it is. You can already see that's very easily put a triangle as a shape so we can imagine it like that. And another beautiful tail behind, very simple with some curves. Okay, you can start to see the triangle and going down. Just the same concept of a triangle with rounded corners and a little bit of curvature. Just so it doesn't seem that boring. Okay, For this last FIN, you are going to make a different shape. It's just another triangle, this time sloping downwards. Very simple shape. Okay, let's connect the tail. It seems like those shapes don't go very well together. So let's erase a tiny bit of the line and going into the shape and erasing the shape. Now this shape was there, just so you have something to draw around, don't erase at all. It just feels nicer to have a little bit of color there anyway. Okay. And but that being said, you can proceed to the next step. 4. Drawing refinement: Okay, In this next step, you will play around with the line ways of the drying, going into the eraser, picking up the inking, the syrup brush. Very nice and beautiful, and making it quite small. It can start to play around with the lines. First of all, that's, you raise the lines over here so that the Finn appears in front of the fish list over here. So it has a small thin and front and the bigger one at the back. And erasing small little chunks of the line, as you can see, making them smaller just so they don't appear all of the same size. And at the bottom, this needs a tiny bit of work. Don't worry, if you undo a lot of things. Tc2, just undo and make it again. Okay. They don't need to be very, very perfect, but a little bit helps. Perfect. And now going for the top, as you can see, just cleaning up the lines a tiny bit. And at the top over here, leaving just a tiny bit of a line for the fin on the top. Just making it one stroke at a time, making it smaller. Okay. And this last line at the top, just like that, losing a little bit of the drawing just so it looks more interesting. Okay. And let's connect the line with an S that the BOD with the tail. Erase a little bit of the line as well. Okay? And recreated with another line that's a little bit more elegant. As you can see, it looks much, much better. Let's reposition. Once it's repositioned, the beautiful gold fish. You can also play with the wrap tool and make it a little bit more dynamic. Increase the size of the fins, that funkiness as well, and the angles just so it kinda has a more dynamic pose. Maybe let's make, hits his face a little bit more stumped out. For the last few details. You're going to add just a tiny beautiful line, maybe two for the fin, at the bottom, for the tail, two lines. And at the top you can add three beautiful small lines to indicate some dynamic lines and a small little mouth. Of course, there you go with this step as well. 5. Amazing colors: Start by adding another layer, call it color one, rename it and call it color one. Perfect. And now you can pick up the orange and of course, select another brush under textures, under artistic actually called hurts, perfect. Very nice and textured brush. You can start by placing the layer underneath all other layers and start blocking in the color of the goldfish, adding at the top and just some beautiful colors. You can also vary and make a little bit of a texture. So it's splotches of color. It's not a solid color everywhere, has some tiny bit of texture going into the red color and adding just a tiny bit of flow. And then alpha locking the layer and going at the top of the fish just like that, adding this beautiful color. Perfect, and a little bit more. On the left-hand side as well. You can already start to see that variation of color that is very important in painting. Okay, undo the alpha lock, going to a yellow and adding this yellow at the bottom of the fish just like that to increase the amount of color and color, variety. Perfect. Now going in on the fin, just over here at the end and picking up the orange to finish that beautiful thin. Don't worry if you go outside of the lines. Ok, and for the other thin, just put the beautiful red. You can finish the first one. Okay. Picking up the yellow and adding a little bit of yellow at the top, just so it has more variety. Perfect. Going in for the red once again, to start adding some color to the top fin. Tiny, beautiful color. Adding that same color for the tail. Over here, you can start to see a little bit of layering just happening because of the flow. That it's not at a 100 percent and at the top very fast. And with this beautiful pink, the lighter shade you can start to add just a tiny bit on the tail and the front fin, as well as the top thin. Perfect. Now with the lightest one, just that the edges and more on the tail and on the top. And then going into a black, decreasing the size just for it to make the beautiful, I just quite black. And then with some brown, Let's add a beautiful textured circle around. I, just like that. And let's make the black even darker. Just over there. And going into the hue saturation. And increasing a tiny bit of desaturation will make this fish just a tiny bit more vibrant going into the color balance. You can also go and add a tiny bit of yellow into the highlights. And there you go. This step is done as well. 6. Color details: Okay, going in and zooming under the eye. Just like that, selecting a dark, beautiful brown and adding just a tiny bit under around the eye, just so it stands out a little bit more. And then making some small beautiful lines to indicate just some more texture around the fish. Let's make this beautiful color a little bit more red. Just over here. You will find it. And adding just a tiny bit of that texture. Just over. They're going into the, into an eraser and decreasing everything just so we can make a beautiful light just beneath the fish as well as on the eye. Just a beautiful highlight, as well as a nice rim highlights. And some small little beautiful textures just going as waves. Okay, erasing a little bit more at the mouth of the fish. And now going in, zooming test the perfect amount to add some more textures, erasing a little bit more at the bottom. Okay. Going in and adding a bit more, erasing a little bit more around the fin just so it has this beautiful color. Flow is at about 50 percent of this eraser with the same brush, okay? Going in and merging those two layers just so we can erase a little bit more to make the fish tiny bit more textured. As you can see. It starts to have more of a fishy texture. And going in and adding at the top this time, just where the body meets Fen, just a small highlights. Okay. Cleaning up the edges of the color and going in on the belly and adding some more lines, but a less flowy eraser in this case, okay, as you can see, small, little beautiful textures going in the same direction, just going with the direction of the shape of the fish. Okay? And at the top of the fish erasing the little bit more of that color, cleaning up the edges, just a tiny bit more. And for the tail, the belly of the fish is a little bit of white as you can see. Okay, erasing a little bit more of the drawing this time you are on the layer with the trying and let's start erasing even more of the lines. So it seems like those beautiful tails are more transparent, more translucent, and they're not so defined with edges. As opposed to the fish where all the lines are very easily defined. Now going into the layer colors and starting to play around with the drawing just so we can make it a little bit more brown. This will give it just a nice and beautiful, more organic feeling than the grayish blue. Once that is done, you can click with two fingers and just putting the opacity at 50 percent. And this step is done as well. 7. Drawing and final details. Thank you: You might be asking why have you lower the opacity of the drawing? Now, this is why. It's because we can refine the drawing even more. Let's add another layer and call it drawing. Too. Perfect. And you can start to see how beautiful the lines will become. Okay, going under with the beautiful drawing. And just like that, Let's make a circle around the eye is keeping some lines and adding a few more. Just so it looks more interesting. As you can see, the drawing underneath will act as a guide, as well as adding more variety. And this way you can refine those beautiful lines and accentuate just the ones that you feel like. They look just in the right spot. And adding a smaller line just over there and for the top as well as the fin just over here. Okay. And adding another line and adding another Finn just like that. There are two fins there now. Perfect. And for the other fin, this doubting and not a line. And of course, let's add a beautiful thin on the other side, just as simple as that to beautiful lines, one straight 11, wiggling one and going in and adding another line to accentuate the waviness of the beautiful tail. Perfect. One more line on top of the tail and accentuating just wavy, beautiful lines on the fish. And of course, erasing a little bit of the drawing underneath. Just so it seems more beautiful. Okay, going in with the brown and making it darker, you will find this color. And going with some artistic pressure, the hurts, and adding more of this color just right by d I, and adding some more textures around there. So it looks just a tiny bit more interesting with some red that will make it seem way better. Okay? And going in and adding some of this red on the other. I just, so it seems more interesting. Just like that, making a perfect white and adding just a tiny bit Onto the beautiful highlights. So it stands out even more. And around the eye just over there. Perfect. Just a tiny bit of a rim light on the edge as well. And maybe the highlight chest on the left-hand side, maybe make it a little bit more pink. And of course, the little bit of erasing on the color at the top, tiny bit. And there you go. The fish, the goldfish is done. Congratulations. You have done a great job. And if you are gracious enough, you will post your creation, your beautiful illustration, and a review of the course. Thank you so much for being part of this community. See you in the next course.
