1. Procreate Dreams: Enhance your Art: You're an artist
and you know that procreate dreams is changing
the face of animation. But it's so daunting and
complicated to learn a brand new app and
all its features, like all great apps, when they come out, you're struggling because it's
a little overwhelming. You don't know what to
do, how to navigate it. So I'm here to help
you with that. Hi, I'm sank. And I've been a digital artist for
about three years. I'm a children's book
author and an illustrator. And I love procreate. And of course I love
procreate dreams as well. So join me in this journey. I'd love to have
you in my class. In this course, I
simplify how you can use Procreate Dreams and enhance your art for reels
on social media. Using three of my artworks
done on procreate, I use both apps, Procreate and Procreate
Dreams together to look at the possibilities you can use to enhance your art reels
on social media. So join me in this adventure
as we work on the basics, simplifying Procreate
Dreams. Let's get started.
2. Procreate Dreams: Project: For your project,
I'd like you to take a transparent PNG of your art and import it on to
Procreate Dreams. Then you have to
create something in the stage of your artwork
coming in and coming out of it. And then export it and
share it in skill share. I'd love to see what you've
done with your artwork.
3. Procreate Dreams: What you need for this class: In this class, I'm
going to simplify Procreate Dreams
in the context of an artist posting
reels on social media. It's not easy to always come up with great
and creative solutions. But Procreate Dreams
has made it so easy to think out of the box a lot
more than we ever imagined. For this class, you need an
ipad and an Apple pencil. You need the
Procreate Dreams app and you need the procreate app. This course is primarily
for beginners, and you don't need
any experience in animation to do this course.
4. Procreate Dreams: Animation Deer : The first thing that I look at is creating the art
on a separate layer. This isn't just for annovation, it is also if you want to make a pattern out of whatever
object you're creating. Like right now you can see
a background and the deer, but it's done in two
separate layers. Later on, you can
separate the leg. Separate the tail if you
want to have the walking. But for this class, I simplified
it and I had the tail and the legs and the antlers in one layer and the background
in another layer. The PNG is transparent. I opened procreate dreams and on the time line itself dragged and dropped in the two window
into the time line. Now it was a very huge file, so you have to re it. Then again, I
dragged and dropped the layer below which
was the background. Now you can make your own layer within procreate dreams as well. But just for fun, I was just trying to see what
dragged and dropped around. The main color point is
all not going to be seen, but it's also your canvas
which you can work on. As you will see what I did to have the animation come
into the main frame. I took the deer and I selected
it and I took it out. And then I pressed the
record button and I made the deer walk into the frame and out of the frame. That's it. Again, making the deer
walk into the frame and out of it reveal in
and out of the deer, which I then went and
exported the file. And this is the final file of the deer coming
in and going out.
5. Procreate Dream: Animation Elephant: So with this elephant, I tried something different. I made a transparent PNG. So when you open
procreate dreams, you have options of
creating a new movie. And I chose a square mode. I dragged this PNG straight onto the time line and it
gave me a white screen. However, it was transparent. I created a new track, and I put that track
underneath the elephant, and I dragged and dropped
the color into the timeline. Now that didn't work, then I
dragged it onto the stage. This area is called the stage. That is where you
need to drag and drop whatever colors you
want to drag and drop. It doesn't happen
on the timeline, so I wanted to change the color, so I dragged a different color again like I'm showing
you on the timeline. But that didn't happen.
It happens on the stage. Then the elephant was a little
too large for the stage, so as you can see, the
ears are coming out, the tail is coming out. Whatever's out of this square will not be in your final video. You need to adjust
the size to make sure it fits within the stage. In the surrounding points
you can see what it is. It's literally like a
stage where the audience sees this window and what's apart is at the
wings of the stage. Then similarly, I
made the elephant walk into the stage
and then offstage. And that was the result.
6. Procreate Dreams: Animation Fish: For this version, I created
three layers, the fish, a little texture representing the ocean, and a background. This time it's three layers, not two, or not just one. On Procreate Dreams, I
chose a square mode. I created a two window, and I dragged the
background first, then I dragged the
waves pattern. I changed the blending
mode to soft light. I moved the fish out of the frame offstage pressed the record, brought
the fish back. However, because
I went too fast, it only recorded
it up to halfway. Just as an experiment,
I went half, and then I went back,
and then again I swam. This is just for teaching and for experimenting
and playing. Then what I did was I created a duplicate of the
fish and I made it smaller to have other
fish in the sea. Something to be
careful about is when you're resizing,
sometimes it warps. So remember the double tap
is always that for undoing. Now I wanted the small fish to also swim with the big fish. What I did was I went to the
front of the timeline and I created a path for all the
fish to join the big fish. Again, as you see the
fish are offstage. I'm creating tracking
for one fish, then clicking the
timeline above. Then again creating
another tracking for another fish separately. And then finally, the third
fish joins the gang of fish. As you see the
fish are offstage. They come on the stage
and then they come back. This is a little bit more complicated than the other ones, but this is also to show you that there's so much
more you can do than just appear and disappear
in the timeline. You can also move your layers
to be in front and behind. I moved the big fish to be
on the top layer because I wanted the small fish to
be behind the big fish. So after creating a
path for the fish, when you want to export it, you go to Share, And
you click on Video, and it automatically exports it. And that's my final video.
7. Procreate Dreams: Things to Consider: So one of the things that I realized was that when
the files are too big, sometimes there's a line that comes across
your animation. The simple solution to that
was replace the background, but there are possibilities
of those lines coming.
10. Bonus : Procreate Dreams with Video Leap: So the nice thing about procreate dreams is that it works very well
with other apps. So I decided to use
it with Video Leap, and I was pretty happy
with the result.
12. Procreate Dreams: Thank you : I really wish you all the best in your journey
as an artist. Even though this course is a very simple look
at procreate dreams, do check out the other classes on skill share,
They are fantastic. Procreate Dreams is going to change the face of animation. And it's really cool
that you've stuck with me in this class to
learn the basics of it. I hope this helps you
enhance your journey as an artist in animation using Procreate dreams.
Thanks for joining me. I will catch you
in the next class. Bye.
