1. Introduction - Welcome & Course Overview: Hello, everyone. My
name is Sant Kumar, and welcome to this
complete course on Adobe Premiere Pro, 2026. In this series, I'm going to guide you step by step through everything you need
to know to become a confident and
professional video editor. Whether you want to edit
for YouTube, social media, client projects or
even short films, this course is
designed to give you practical real world
editing skills. Premiere Pro 2026 comes with powerful new AI tools,
improved performance, smarter workflows,
advanced color correction, better caption systems, and
professional export controls. And in this course, we'll
explore all of it in detail, and you'll learn how to organize
projects professionally, how to cut and trim like a pro, how to work with audio properly, how to use effects and
transitions effectively, how to color correct
using lumetri scopes, how to use AI tools like generative extend
and object mask, how to create
captions, and finally, how to export videos correctly
for different platforms. But this is not just about
learning buttons and tools you will understand how
editing actually works. We'll work on real footage together so you can
practice while learning. If you're a beginner,
don't worry. I'll explain everything clearly. And if you already
have experience, this course will help you refine your skills and work
faster and smarter. So if you're ready to master
Adobe Premiere Pro 2026, let's begin this
journey together.
2. Start Screen Overview: This video, we're starting our detailed series on
Adobe Premiere Pro with AI. In this lesson, I'll walk you
through the start screen, the very first window you
see when you open Premiere. You'll learn what every
option here does, what's new in this version, and how to create your very
first project the right way. When you launch Premiere Pro, you'll see this clean and
modern home interface. Here you can see the welcome
screen of Premiere Pro. From here, you can check
out what's new in Premiere and even explore some free
tutorials to get started. If you don't need
this right now, you can simply close the window. And later, you can bring it back anytime by clicking on this
little icon right here. The start screen divided into two main areas left side bar, which helps you start or manage projects and main dashboard, which displays your recent
work and learning resources. Let's start from
the left sidebar. This is your quick
navigation panel. You'll see these main options. Home brings you back to
this screen anytime. Learn opens the learning panel with tutorials and guided
practice projects. The templates section
gives you access to a wide range of free and premium motion
graphics templates, titles, and even preset
project templates. You can use any of these in
your own projects to save time and make your videos look more professional
and polished. At the bottom, you'll find
some special options. New team project for collaborative editing
with multiple users. Open Team project to resume
an existing team project. Open Premiere Rush project
lets you import and continue editing mobile projects from Adobe Premiere Rush. The large central area of the start screen is
your main dashboard. Here you'll find
a welcome section greeting you with your
Adobe ID name at the top. In the middle, Premiere
highlights the latest features or AI tools like the
new Generative extend, which adds frames to extend a shot or fill missing moments. Below the feature cards, you'll see your
recent projects list. This section keeps track of the projects you've
worked on recently, showing the project
name type when it was last opened
and its file size. For example, here you can
see my project titled Untitled marked as a
Premiere Pro project. Now, this button is used
to create a new project, and you can also use it
to open an existing one. In the next video, we'll
go step by step and learn how to create a brand
new project in Premiere Pro.
3. Interface & Workspaces: This lesson, we're exploring the main dashboard of
Adobe Premiere Pro, where all the editing
magic happens. Every panel you see plays a specific role in
the editing process. Let's create a new project. Click New Project,
give your project a name. I'll call mine first. Choose a location where you
want to save the project. You can pick an existing
folder or create a new one. For template, choose
none for now. I'll explain templates
in a later lesson. Leave Import mode
checked for now. We'll cover import
options later. When you're ready, click Create. Now you'll see Premier's
multi panel dashboard. The interface is divided
into several sections. Here I'll give you a quick
overview of each panel, and in the upcoming lectures, we'll go deeper into every panel in full detail. Learning panel. This panel helps
both beginners and pros discover tutorials
inside Premiere. You'll see tutorials and
search tabs at the top. Under tutorials, you'll
find lessons like use Generative extend
to add frames with AI, create your first video and take your first
video further. Click Start Tutorial to open an interactive
guided session. Premiere walks you step by step through tools
on your own screen. These built in lessons are a fast way to learn
new features, especially Adobe's AI tools. Project panel, bottom left. This is where all your
imported assets live. You'll see your project name
at the top of the panel. Think of it as your
project's library. Bins, clips, sequences, and other media are
organized here. Source monitor and program
monitor, top center. The source monitor
is for previewing raw clips and setting
in out points. The program monitor shows your timelines current sequence, what your final video looks
like during playback. Timeline, center bottom. This is the heart of your edit. Drag video and audio clips into tracks to build
your sequence. You'll trim, arrange,
add transitions, and layer elements
here. Properties panel. Right. Whenever
you select a clip, title or effect, the Properties panel shows detailed settings
you can adjust. It's where you fine tune scale, position, effects
parameters, and more. Audio meters, lower right. These meters display live
audio levels during playback, essential for making
sure your audio isn't clipping and sits
at the right volume. This is the basic
learning workspace, but Premiere Pro
includes many workspaces built for specific
tasks to switch, go to Window, Workspace,
then pick what you need. Like editing. Choose editing for general cut
and assemble work. Choose audio when you need to focus on mixing
and sound repair. Choose effects for compositing
and visual tweaks. Panels are flexible. You can resize, rearrange, or undock any panel. Try dragging a panel to a new position to
customize your layout. If you don't like your changes, restore the original layout, then go to workspace by
clicking Reset to saved layout. Now we have old
predefined layout. Let's build a new layout. And want to save it.
Then go to workspace. Save as new workspace,
give it a name. I'll save mine as SNT. Now, whenever you
switch workspaces, you can choose that name to
return to your custom layout. In the next chapter, we'll dive deep into the
project panel, how to organize bins, import media smartly and prepare
your assets for editing.
4. Project Panel Explained: This lesson, we're
going to explore one of the most essential areas of Adobe Premiere Pro,
the Project panel. This is the heart of your
entire editing workflow. Every piece of media you use in your project, videos, images, audio files, graphics, titles, and sequences is stored
and organized right here. Think of it as your
editing library or the control center
of your project. At the top of this panel, you'll see a tab labeled
project your project name. For example, Project First. Every project you create will have its own project
panel like this. Before you start editing, you need to bring your
media into Premiere. Premiere offers several
convenient importing methods. One, Import button. Click the Import Media button directly inside
the Project panel. Two, right click anywhere inside the panel and choose
Import. Drag and Drop. Simply drag files or folders directly from your computers
into the project panel. Four, keyboard shortcut,
control I for Windows, Command plus I for Mac. This opens the Import
window instantly. Now, click Import Media. If you want to import one file, select it and click Open. If you want to bring in an entire folder,
Click Import folder. Premiere preserves
your folder structure inside the project panel. Once your media is imported, you'll see small thumbnails
or List entries appear here representing every file you've added to your project. Right now we are in ListView, and in Adobe Premiere Pro, these folders are called Bins. You can click on a Bin to open it and see all the files inside. Click again to collapse the
bin and hide the files. This list view shows you detailed information
about each clip, such as name, file type, resolution, frame rate,
duration, and more. It's useful when
you want a clean, organized view of
all your media, especially on large projects. You can also double
click a bin to open it in a separate tab
or a floating window. You can also see the name
of the bin right here. You always know which
bin you're working inside and click on this icon, we can back to the
folder. Create a new Bin. Click the NUBin icon at
the bottom of the panel or use a shortcut Control B on Windows and Command B on Mac. You can even create Bins inside Bins for
deeper organization. You can use this icon
to delete the BN. Just select the bin you want to remove and click
the delete icon. Premiere gives you
three different ways to view your media. List view icon view
and freeform view. Let's discuss on ListView. Press Tilde key to
enlarge the view. Shows your media in
a clean list format with detailed metadata
such as frame rate, media start, media end, media duration, and others. Maybe you can see
deferred meta option. It's depend upon your
software version. You can sort any
column in ascending or descending order by clicking
on its column header. For example, if you click on the frame rate column header, Premiere Pro will arrange your clips from the lowest
frame rate to the highest. Click it again and
it will reverse the order from the highest
frame rate to the lowest. This is very helpful
when you want to quickly group similar
clips together, making your workflow
faster and more organized. You can reorder columns by
dragging them left or right. We can customize what metadata appears by clicking
the panel menu icon, the three horizontal lines at the top right of
the project panel. Now click on Premiere
Pro metadata to select A and then
click to Deselect A, and we can select the best
option which we like. Now click Okay. And
you'll notice we have only a few list
metadata columns visible, such as name, frame
rate, media start, media end, media type,
and media duration. And this will help you quickly understand each clip
without opening it. At the top of the project
panel, there's a search bar. You can type a word here to instantly search
and find any clip, even if it's inside deep bins. First, let's go back to the main bin by
clicking on this icon. Now let's type the word
sound in the search bar, and you can see
that Premiere Pro immediately shows us all
the files related to sound. When you're working
on a large project with hundreds of clips, this search bar makes
it extremely easy to quickly identify and
locate any file you need. In 2025 Beta, Adobe
added AI powered search. If media analysis is enabled, you can even search by
content like car or sky, and Premiere will find
visually matching clips. Now let's discuss
on the icon view. Let's switch to icon view. Now double click A folder
to see what's inside. You can switch back
to the previous view by clicking on this icon. Again, double click to
open and view the files. And here you can also enlarge the thumbnails for
a better preview. Let me show you one more thing. When you hover your cursor
over a clip and move forward, the clip scrubs forward. When you move your
cursor backward, the clip scrubs backward. If you click a clip and press the space bar, the
clip will play. Press Spacebar again
to stop the playback. You can arrange clips easily by clicking and dragging them. If you want to select
multiple clips in a row, hold the shift key and drag. If you want to select
clips individually, use Control Click on a Window
or Command click on Mac. This lets you pick
clips one by one in any order and rearrange them. Now let me tell you
about freeform view. When you switch
to freeform view, you can position clips
anywhere you like without being restricted by a grid
or alignment, like this. This becomes very
useful when working on large projects or
when you want to visually organize
shots in a custom way. You can also align
the clips to a grid. Now, the clips have
been aligned through the grid or reset their layout
using these options here. Just choose the option that
fits best for your workflow. You can also choose from
other alignment options depending on what works best for your project
and your workflow. At the top of the panel, you can also see the
other view tabs, and we'll discuss all of
these in an upcoming lecture. Now, press the Tilde
key again to minimize the project panel and return to the normal
workspace view. And that's a complete overview
of the project panel in Adobe Premiere Pro, 2025 Beta. This panel keeps your
entire project organized, efficient and easy to manage, no matter how big
your production gets.
5. Source Monitor – Previewing and Selecting Clips: This lesson, we're
going to explore one of the most powerful panels inside Adobe Premiere Pro,
the source monitor. The source monitor is
your pre editing window. It's where you view, trim, and prepare your clips before adding them
to your timeline. Whether you're working
on a short film, YouTube video or documentary, understanding this
panel will make your editing workflow
faster and more accurate. The source monitor is located at the top left corner of the
Premiere Pro workspace. Now let me show you multiple ways to open clips
in the source monitor. Method one, double click. The easiest way is to click
a clip in the project panel. The clip instantly opens in the source monitor ready
for preview and trimming. Method two, drag and drop. You can also click and drag a clip directly onto
the source monitor. As soon as you drop it here, the clip loads for playback. Opening multiple clips
in the source monitor. If you want to open multiple
clips at once, here's how. First, click the source
monitor menu and choose close to clear
any clips already open. Now, select multiple clips
in the project panel. Use Shift plus click to
select a range or Control click on Windows or Command click on Mac to select
individual clips. Once selected,
drag all the clips onto the source monitor. You'll now see all the clips loaded as tabs in
the source monitor. Simply click here
to switch between clips and choose the one
you want to work with. Now, let's talk about
playback controls inside the source monitor. First, look at the
playhead bar right here. You can click and drag it, drag to the right
to move forward, drag to the left
to move backward. This is a quick way to
scrub through your clip. And at the bottom of
the source monitor, you'll find the
playback controls. Play pause, click once to
play, click again to stop. Or simply press Space
Bar to play and pause. For faster and more
professional editing, use the J K keys. L play forward. J play backward. K pause. This is the fastest
way to preview clips. Press L twice for
plays at double speed. Same rule applies for J
when playing backward. Two times press double speed and three times at triple speed. Slow motion playback. Hold K and L for
slow motion forward. Hold K and J for slow
motion backward. This is extremely useful
for finding exact moments. Now let's talk about
in and out points, one of the most important
features of the source monitor. In and out points define exactly which part of the
clip you want to use. Set in and out. Press
I, mark in point. Press, Oh, mark out point. You can change them anytime
by pressing I or O again. And to clear in point, use Control shift I for Windows and command shift I for Mac
and to clear out point. Use Control Shift O
for Windows and use Command Shift O for Mac and
clear both in and out point. Use Control Shift X for Windows and Command
Shift plus X for Mac. Now let's make points again. And to preview only
the selected portion between in and out points, use Control Shift
Space Bar for Windows and command shift
spacebar for Mac. Now, only the marked
section will play. This is perfect
for checking cuts, dialog timing or audio sync. Now, let me explain one
more important point. First, let's switch the clip. Here you'll see two
very useful icons, drag video only,
drag audio only. If your clip has audio, drag audio only is
extremely helpful. Let's choose this clip has
dialog first, play the clip. Listen for the exact point
where the voice starts. Alright, let's gently open the hive and take a look inside. The first thing we check is how active the bees are today. Healthy bees and
choose audio only. Now we want to add a
mark in point where the dialogue starts. All right. All right. Let's gently open the hive and
take a look inside. The first thing we check is how active the bees are today. Helps and set the end, mark out point here. Bees are today. This way, only the
selected portion of the video will play. This gives you very
accurate cuts, especially for interviews
and voiceovers. Now let's play Mark only points
with control shift space. Alright. Let's gently open the hive and take a look inside. The first thing we check is how active the bees are today. Now let's talk about markers, one of the most powerful and
underrated editing tools. Markers help you plan your edit, sync video with music. Mark beats or dialog. Add notes for later. Edit faster like a P. A marker
is only a reference point. It does not cut the video
and to add a marker, move the playhead
to any position. And click on this icon or use the shortcut Kem to
create a marker point. All right. And press M again,
to add a marker at the playhead position
and to edit a marker. Double click the marker, add a name and description
which you want. Now choose a marker type. Comment, Chapter
segment, weblink. The first four colors are selected by default
in Premiere Pro. However, you are free
to choose any color. Let's choose the default
color for the comment, and once everything
is done, click Okay. To navigate markers, use
Shift M for next marker, and for previous marker, use Control Shift M for Windows, Command Shift M for Mac. If you want to edit
or delete a marker, simply double click
on the marker. You can then make changes or remove it by pressing
the delete key. Now, let me tell you
some useful more tools. You can zoom in and out
of the source monitor. Use the mouse scroll wheel
for finer navigation. This search bar lets you quickly find frames
inside this clip. Now, let me explain these
buttons right here. With this button, you can move one frame backward at a
time and with this button, you can move one frame
forward at a time. These controls are extremely useful when you need
frame accurate editing, especially for precise cuts. If your clip has in
and out point set, this button jumps to the in point and this button
jumps to the outpoint. Please note one important thing. If your clip does not
have in and out points, then these same buttons will
take you to the start of the clip and the end
of the clip instead. This makes it very
easy to navigate both trimmed and untrimmed
clips accurately. And that's the complete guide to the source monitor in
Adobe Premiere Pro. This is where every great edit
begins, previewing clips, controlling playback,
marking in and out points, and using markers to
work faster and smarter.
6. Timeline Panel – The Heart of Video Editing: This lesson, we're
going to learn one of the most important parts of Adobe Premiere Pro,
the timeline panel. The timeline is the
core of video editing. Everything you do as an editor, cutting clips, arranging scenes, sinking music, adding effects, and building a story all
happens inside the timeline. Once you understand
the timeline clearly, you'll be able to edit any
video with confidence. First, let's drop a media and in the project panel and sequence
automatically creates. Can rename it by
double clicking. A sequence is your
actual editing timeline. It contains video clips, audio clips, effects,
transitions. Each sequence also has
settings like resolution, frame rate, audio settings, and don't worry about sequence. We'll discuss the sequence in detail when we begin editing. A project can have
multiple sequences, but only one sequence
plays at a time. The timeline is
divided into tracks, video tracks at the top. Audio tracks at the bottom. Each track has a specific
role in building your edit. Video tracks are labeled V one, V two, V three, and so on. Video tracks work like layers. A clip placed on two
appears above V one. Audio tracks are labeled A one, A two, A three, and so on. Unlike video, audio
tracks play together. Dialogue, music and sound effects can all be
heard at the same time. This vertical blue line
is called the playhead. The playhead shows
where you are in time. Which frame is currently active. Whatever frame the
playhead touches is shown in the program monitor. All editing happens at
the playhead position. Playback controls
in the timeline. To play or stop the video, you can simply press
the space bar. Take a look inside. Or you can also use the J, K and L keys, which are the fastest
way to control playback. L plays the video forwards. J plays the video backwards. K stops the video. Press L multiple
times to increase playback speed and press J multiple times
to rewind faster. Zooming the timeline helps
you edit more accurately. You can use the Zoom
bar at the bottom of the timeline to zoom
in and zoom out. You can also use
keyboard shortcuts. Press plus to zoom in. Press minus to Zoom out. Zoom in when making
precise cuts and zoom out when arranging clips and
reviewing the full sequence. Now move your mouse between
two tracks in the timeline. When the cursor changes to
a vertical resize icon, click and drag up or down. Drag up arrow,
increase track height, drag down arrow,
decrease track height. Track height does not change video size, quality,
or duration. It only changes how big or small tracks look
in the timeline. Think of it like zooming
text size in a document. The content stays the same,
only visibility changes. Now let me tell you
one more method. Hold Alt key on Windows
or option key on Mac. Then scroll the mouse
wheel up or down to increase or decrease the
height of the selected track. If you want to adjust all
tracks at the same time, hold shift and scroll
the mouse wheel. This increases or decreases the height of every
track together. You can also use
keyboard shortcuts. Press control or command
with the plus key to increase the video track height
and minus to decrease it. For audio tracks,
use Alt or option with plus to increase the height and minus to decrease it. Snap feature in the timeline. First, let's add
the another video. We add another video
clip to the timeline, you'll notice it automatically
snaps into place. This happens because the
Snap feature is turned on. It feels like a
small magnetic force pulling clips together. Snap helps clips, align
with other clips, align with the playhead,
prevent unwanted gaps. If you don't want this behavior, you can turn Snap off by
clicking the Snap icon here, or simply press S on your keyboard to
toggle it on or off. As you can see, when I
bring this clip closer, it overlaps with the other clip because the Snap
feature was turned off. That's why you should
always keep Snap enabled now let's add
multiple clips in a timeline. When we have multiple
clips in the timeline, you can jump quickly
between them. Press page up to move to
the previous edit point, press page down to move
to the next edit point. This is a fast and
professional way to navigate your timeline
without zooming in and out. Fit all clips in the timeline. Now, let me tell you one
more very important thing. When you have multiple
video clips in the timeline and we've
zoomed in too much, you might want to see
all the clips at once. To fit everything in the
timeline on your screen, simply press the backslash key. Premiere will automatically zoom the timeline so all clips
fit perfectly in view. You can see the video from start to end without scrolling
left or right. This is extremely
useful when working on long timelines or when you want a quick overview of your entire. And that brings us to the
end of the timeline panel, and this is basic tools. This is the space
where all your ideas turn into an actual video. Don't worry if it feels a
little confusing at first. That's completely normal. The more time you spend
practicing in the timeline, the more comfortable
it will become.
7. Program Monitor – Viewing Your Final Output: This lesson, we will learn
about the timeline monitor, which is also known as the program monitor in
Adobe Premiere Pro. This monitor shows us the
final result of our editing. Whatever we place on the
timeline, video, text, effects, transitions, everything
is displayed right here. It's important not to confuse the source monitor and
the timeline monitor. Source monitor is for previewing
clips before editing. The timeline monitor is for
previewing your edited video. Source monitor
equals before edit. Timeline monitor
equals after edit. The playback controls in the timeline monitor work
the same way as before, like Space bar JKL. Now let me tell you
one more vital thing. If your timeline contains HD or multiple high
resolution video clips, playing the video
at full resolution can make playback slow or jerky. To get smooth playback, you don't need full
resolution while editing. Simply lower the playback
resolution to half or below. This reduces the preview
quality only while editing, but your final export quality
stays exactly the same. Lowering playback
resolution is one of the easiest and
most effective ways to improve performance, especially on heavy timelines, and that's a
complete explanation of the timeline monitor, also called the program monitor.
8. Project Templates for Faster Workflow: Lesson, we are
going to understand project templates in
Adobe Premiere Pro. Project templates help
you start editing faster by using ready
made project setups. I'll explain what
each template does, when to use it, and which
option is best for beginners. When we click New Project, you see project templates. A project template is a
preconfigured project. Instead of starting
from an empty project, premiere gives you
a ready structure. A template may already
include sequences, track layouts, aspect ratio
settings, timeline structure. Templates do not add footage. They only prepare the workspace. There are mainly three
types of templates, Broadcast template project, social media template,
standard template project. First, let's choose
Broadcast template and let's name the file. A broadcast template project is a preconfigured
professional project setup. It already follows broadcast
rules and standards, so editors don't make
technical mistakes. This template focuses
on correct video size, safe text placement,
professional timeline structure, clean audio layout. It does not add video
clips automatically. It only prepares the project correctly for broadcast work. The broadcast template
often includes a clean and organized
timeline layout. Here you can see
this template have many dedicated
bins like footage, audio, graphics, music, photos, sequences, and in sequences Bn. You'll notice that we have three separate folders for sequences. Each folder is created for a different resolution
and frame rate. This helps us stay organized when working on
multiple versions of the same project
and we will discuss about sequences in
an upcoming lecture. Now let's create a social
media template project. A social media
template project is a ready made project setup for social platforms instead of starting from a blank project, Premiere already
prepares the project in a way that suits
social media videos. It only prepares the
structure of your project. This template is designed for popular social
platforms like YouTube, Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, Facebook videos,
mobile first content. These platforms often use
vertical or square videos, and this template is
built with that in mind. Here we have only one bin and many pre created sequences
for social platforms. Let's double click
on Facebook Reels. Here you can see
predefined message. This template often comes
with a clean timeline layout. To edit this, you can simply replace the video
and other graphics. Here you can see the preview. All the settings are
predefined and you don't need to define or change
anything manually. The social media template
project helps you start faster, keeps your video size correct and reduces beginner mistakes. It is designed for speed, simplicity, and a
social platform. Let's create a standard
template project. A standard template project is a ready made basic
project structure. It gives you a clean
starting point without heavy restrictions. This template is prepared
a normal timeline layout. It does not force a specific
platform or format on you. Here, you can see that this
template has dedicated sections for some
categories like footage, audio, graphics, music, photos, and two sequences
for HD and UHD. Now learn how to add or create a project template in
Adobe Premiere Pro. This feature is mainly
for advanced users, editors who work on similar
projects again and again. If you edit daily content, client projects or
branded videos, Project templates can
save you a lot of time. Let's open the social
media template and create the bin for video. Audio and graphics. And save the file,
and let's name it Custom Pro temp and go to home. A new project, let's
name it Custom P one. Add templates, and now
select and create templates. From here, you can change
the template name, but for now, we'll
keep it as it is. Now we have created
the custom template. Here you can see we
have four templates. This is the way we can create the custom template in easy way. Now let's close
all the projects. And create a new project
with our custom template. As you can see, all the customized settings
are already there. This custom template is very
useful and time saving. The most important
thing to remember is to choose the template based on where your video
will be used. If you're not sure,
starting with a standard template or a
blank project is always safe. Templates help you stay
organized and work fast, but your creativity and editing skills are
what really matter.
9. Import Mode – Importing Media Efficiently: This lesson, we're going to
learn what happens when we untake Skip Import mode
in Adobe Premiere Pro. When Skip Import
mode is unchecked, Premiere Pro does not jump directly into the
editing workspace. Instead, it opens the
import screen first. This import screen is
designed to help us bring media into the project
in an organized way. It gives us more control
before we start editing, especially if we are beginners. Here, you can see all the
available sample media files. These are preview
thumbnails so you can visually
identify your clips. Here you can
increase or decrease the media thumbnail size
using this control. If you prefer a cleaner,
more detailed view, you can also switch to List
view instead of thumbnails. Choose the view that works
best for your workflow. Thumbnails are great
for visual browsing, while List view is perfect
for detailed information. You can select one clip, multiple clips by
using the Shift key, control or command key, or even the entire folder. On the right side, we have import settings and this
part is very important. First, we have add to new Bin. When this option is turned on, Premiere will
automatically create a new bin in the project panel. This helps keep your media
organized from the beginning. You can also rename the bin here so everything stays
clean and easy to find. Next is copy media. If this option is enabled, Premiere will copy
the selected files into your project folder. If it is turned off, Premiere will only link to
the original file. For beginners, it's
usually okay to keep this off unless you
want full backup control. After that, we have
create new sequence. When this option is turned on, Premiere will
automatically create a sequence from the
imported clips. You can also rename
the sequence here. This is very useful
because you don't have to create a sequence
manually later. Below that is automatic
transcription. If this is enabled, Premiere will
automatically transcribe the audio in your clips. You can choose the
language like English. And you can also enable auto language detection if your content has
multiple languages. This feature is very helpful for captions and text based editing. Next is speaker labeling. This is used when there are multiple people
speaking in the video. Premiere can try to identify different speakers
automatically. This is mostly useful for
interviews and podcasts. Then then we have
transcription preferences. Here, Premiere decides when
to transcribe the clips. For example, it can transcribe only the clips that are
used in the sequence. Finally, we have media Analysis. When this option is on, Premiere analyzes your media for visual and audio elements. This helps with searching AI features and
smart tools later. At the bottom, you'll
see the Import button. Once everything looks
good, click Import. And your media will be added to the project with the
selected settings. So when we choose the
sequence settings, all the media we import into the timeline automatically
follows those same settings. This means your clips
are placed into the timeline without
any technical mismatch, and everything stays consistent
throughout the edit. That's why setting up the correct sequence
at the beginning is very important for smooth
editing and exporting. This import screen helps
you stay organized, save time and start editing in a clean and professional way
right from the beginning.
10. Project Setup – Creating a New Project: Before we import any media, it's very important to set up our project folder properly. A good folder setup
helps keep everything organized and prevents missing
files or confusion later. Here, I've created a
main project folder named Project file class. Inside this folder, I have
created three simple folders, audio, graphics and
images and video. Let me explain why this
folder setup is essential. First, the video folder. Inside the video folder, I've created three folders. These folders are used to
store all raw video footage. In the B folder, I placed all the videos
related to B farming. In the green screen folder, I stored all the clips
shot on green screen, and the mix folder contains videos from different
mixed categories. Keeping all video files
in one place helps Premiere Pro Link files correctly and avoids
missing media issues. Next is the audio folder. This folder is for
background music, voice over recordings,
sound effects, and any external audio files. Separating audio
from video makes it easier to manage
sound during edit. Then we have the graphics
and Images folder. This folder is used for
logos, photos, thumbnails, PNG files, JPG images, and any graphic elements. If you are adding titles, logos or images, this folder
keeps everything organized. This simple folder structure
helps us in many ways. It keeps the project clean,
makes importing faster, and prevents confusion later when we import media
into Premiere Pro. We always import files
from these folders. That way, Premiere knows exactly where
everything is stored. If we ever move the project to another computer
or take a backup, we just copy this
main project folder and nothing goes missing. This is a professional habit used by editors all
over the world. Even small projects
become easier to manage when folders are
organized properly. Once this folder setup is ready, we are fully prepared
to open Premiere Pro, import our media, and
start editing smoothly.
11. Organizing Media in the Project Panel: That we've organized our media
folders on our computer. The next step is to organize everything inside the project
panel in Premiere Pro. This step is extremely important because Premiere isn't
just a video editor. It's also a media
management tool. If our project is organized
from the beginning, we edit faster and
avoid problems later. Let's start by creating
a new project. This time, make sure we do
not skip the Import screen. On the Import screen, we can either select files individually or select
an entire folder. Now, click to see
all the media files. Here, we can see all
of our media files, and as you can notice, they are all different types. We have videos, audio, images, graphics, and more. If you want to change
how they appear, you can decrease
the thumbnail size by dragging this slider bar. This helps you
preview your media in the way that works
best for your workflow. We need all the media
in this project. We'll select the whole folder. On the right side, you'll
see several options. Make sure ad Bin is unticked. Keep copy media
turned off and we don't need automatic
bins for this workflow. Leave that off as
well. The only thing we will enable here
is media analysis. This helps Premiere analyze your footage for
things like faces, audio, and motion, which later
allows faster searching. Once everything looks
good, click Import. Premiere now loads all our media directly into the project panel. Let's switch to List view now press the Tilda key to enlarge the view
to full screen. This makes it much
easier to work when you have a lot of media or
bins in your panel. At this point, you may see a lot of files with
different types, video clips, audio files, music, images, they're
all mixed together. This can become
messy very quickly, especially when the project
grows to hundreds of files. Before we go any further, now right click here and open the metadata
display window. From here, you can
click Select All to enable everything and then
deselect all to clear it. Now choose only the
information we actually need, for example, label, media
type, media duration. Now that we've enabled
these options, we can clearly see the
media type for all files. By clicking on the
column header, we can reorder the media, for example, group
all videos together, then graphics, then
audio, and so on. With just a few metadata
options enabled, it becomes much easier
to sort, filter, and reorganize our files
inside the project panel. This is extremely useful when working with
a lot of media. Now let's begin organizing. The first bin we'll create
is the main asset bin. This bin will contain all our
media files in one place. Think of it as a
master container. You can create a new bin by
right clicking or simply use the Control or
Command plus B key to create Bin and rename
it to main asset. Now select all the
media files by using Shift plus click to
select the full range. Then deselect the bin itself by pressing Control or Command
plus click on the bin. Now just drag all the media
into the main asset bin. This keeps everything clean
and ready for classification. Next, we'll categorize the
files into smaller bins. We'll start with a video bin, press Control or Command B
again, to create the bin. Now, here's an important
pro workflow tip. We want to keep all
media files inside the main asset bin as
our master storage. So if we select the video files and you can recognize
them by media type, and drag them directly
into the video bin, Premiere will move those files
out of the main asset bin, but that's not what we want. We don't want to remove original media from
the main asset bin. Now, press Control or
Command plus Z on to undo the action and revert everything
back to where it was. We're going to copy
and paste them. Use Control plus C to copy and Control plus V to paste
into the video bin. Now we have a copy of all the video files
inside the video bin while the original files remain safely inside the
main asset bin. This is the best practice
because it keeps your master files
organized in one place and allows you to create
separate bins for editing without losing track
of your original media. Now, double click the video
bin and switch to icon view. This makes visual
browsing easier, especially for B roll footage. Here we notice that our clips
fall into three categories. These clips are
related to B farm. So we'll create a bin
called bee farming and move those clips inside. These clips are shot
on a green screen, we'll create a new bin called green screen and move
those files in as well. I think this clip belongs
to the Be farming category. Let's move it into
the Be farming bin. The remaining clips belong
to a miscellaneous category, so we'll create a bin
called mix for those. At this point, our
video bin structure now contains bee farming, green screen, and mix. This subdivision is
very helpful when we have lots of B roll or
multiple shooting scenarios. Now let's go back to
the main asset bin and continue organizing
the rest of the media. We'll create a new bin called audio here we will
copy and paste music, voiceovers and sound effects. Separating audio from
video makes sound design easier later because
everything is already sorted. Next, we'll create a
graphics and images bin. Any logos, PNG files, thumbnails, or still
images will go here. This is especially useful
for content creators and client work where branded
assets need to be reused often. Finally, we'll create one
more bin called sequences. This bin will hold
all the timelines we create throughout
the project. Professionals always
keep their sequences in their own bin to
avoid confusion, especially when multiple edits
or versions are created. By now, we have a clean and
professional bin structure. We have a main asset bin
containing original imports, a video bin with
categorized sub Bins. An audio bin, a graphics
and images bin, and a sequences bin. This kind of structure
is used in studios and collaborative
environments because it keeps the workflow
efficient and scalable. Here's another pro tip. Good organization
prevents problems later when files are moved. Please note that this
bin setup is only created inside your
Premiere Pro project panel. These bins do not affect your actual folders on your computer or your
exercise folder. They only exist inside Premiere to help you stay
organized while editing. Earlier, I showed you two different methods for
organizing your project. Method one is organizing your files on your
computer first, by creating folders for video, audio, and graphics
before opening premiere, Method two is organizing
everything inside Premiere. By creating bins in
the project panel, both methods are correct
and both are useful. You can choose whichever
method you prefer, or you can combine both
methods in the same project, which is what many
professionals do for maximum clarity
and efficiency. A well organized premiere
project never leaves you guessing where a specific
file or timeline is stored. Now that all of our bins
are neatly organized.
12. Working with Sequences: This lesson, we're
going to learn about sequences in Adobe Premiere Pro. Sequences are one of the
most important parts of editing because this is where the entire final video is built. If you understand
sequences properly, your editing process becomes much easier and much
more professional. There are some ways
to create a sequence. Simply drag a clip
onto the timeline. Premiere will
automatically create a sequence that matches
the clip settings. Now let's move
this sequence into the sequence bin and
rename it B farming one. You can see the
sequence name here, a sequence runs
from left to right, just like time moves forward. The left side is
the beginning of the video and the
right side is the end. When we play the sequence, the playhead reads
everything in order, including video
tracks, audio tracks, and any effects applied. Now go to sequence
and sequence setting. This sequence is automatically
created based on the size of the video that we
dragged onto the timeline, the sequence resolution,
aspect ratio, and frame rate are
all matched to that clip without us needing
to set anything manually. This is where we control the technical foundation
of our sequence. Whatever settings we
choose here will affect the entire video project
during editing and exporting. It's very important to understand
what each option means. At the top, we
have editing mode. This controls how premiere
processes video internally. If you select a
preset like DSLR, A VCHD or ED. Premiere automatically
adjusts settings based on camera type. When editing mode
is set to custom, we can configure
everything manually, which gives us full control. Under editing mode, we
have the time base. This defines the frame
rate of the sequence. For example, 24 frames per
second for cinematic look, 25 frames per second
for pal or broadcast, 30 frames per second for YouTube and general
social content. 60 frames per second for smooth
motion or gaming content. In this window, the time base is set to 25 frames per second. Next, we have the
frame size field. Here we set the
resolution of our video. In this example, 1920
horizontal 1080 vertical, which is commonly
referred to as full HD or 1,000 ATP with an aspect
ratio of 16 to nine. If you were editing
reels or Tik Tok, you would use 1080 by
1920, which is vertical. Below that, we have a checkbox, scale motion effects
proportionally when changing frame size. This helps maintain consistency if you resize the
sequence later. It prevents graphics or animations from
stretching incorrectly. Next, we have pixel
aspect ratio. For modern digital footage, we always use
square pixels, 1.0. Older broadcast or
anamorphic footage sometimes uses other values, but for most modern workflows, square pixels is correct. Below that, we have fields. Modern cameras shoot
progressive scan. Fields is set to no
fields progressive. Interlaced formats like
upper or lower field are used mainly for
old broadcast systems. Then we have the display format. This controls how time is
displayed in the timeline. Here it's set to 25 frames
per second time code, which matches the frame
rate of the sequence. Below we move to audio settings, Channel format is set to stereo, which uses two channels,
left and right. Sample rate is set
to 48,000 hertz, which is the professional
standard for video. For comparison, music
CDs use 44,100 Hertz, but video workflows always
prefer 48 kilohertz. Display format for audio
is set to audio samples, which gives frame accurate
editing for sound. Next, we have video previews. This section controls how
premiere renders preview files. Here, the preview file
format is set to QuickTime. The codec is Apple
ProRes 422 LT, which is a high quality
intermediate codec. This is very useful for smoother playback and
color correction. High performance editing
systems often use ProRes or DNx HR for previews. The preview resolution matches the sequence at 19:20 by 1080, maximum bit depth and
maximum render quality. At the bottom, we have
two optional checkboxes. Maximum bit depth is used
for high color precision. Maximum render quality improves scaling quality for
resized footage. These options can
improve quality, but they also increase
render time and GPU load. Composite in linear color. Below that, we have
composite in linear color. This helps produce more accurate blending and
transparency results. When applying visual
effects and color grading, it also requires
GPU acceleration for best performance.
Final confirmation. Once everything is set, we click Okay to apply
the sequence settings. These settings can
have a major impact on video quality,
color, and performance. Now let's look at Method two
for creating a sequence. Go to File New Sequence. Here you can either
choose a preset or you can customize
the settings if needed. For example, if we want a vertical sequence
for social media, we need a resolution of 1080
width times 1920 height. Once you set that, keep
everything else as it is. Now we have a vertical sequence. You can also rename the
sequence if you want. Just click on the sequence name and enter your preferred name. Now we have a brand new
sequence in the timeline. If we drag a video
into this sequence, Premiere will show
a warning that says this clip does not
match the sequence settings. This happens because our clip
is 1920 by 1080 horizontal, while our sequence is
1080 by 1920 vertical, basically the
opposite orientation. Premiere gives us two options,
change sequence settings, keep existing
settings, choose keep existing settings because we want to maintain the
vertical format. Otherwise, sequence
settings will change according to video size. Now you'll see that the
video does not fill the sequence frame and it may appear cropped or
fitted differently. So we can resize or reposition the video to
fit the vertical frame, and I'll show you how
to do that later. Method three from Import screen. Now let's go back
to the home screen and create a new project. Make sure to uncheck
Skip Import Media. Then click Create. Next, select the clip you
want and enable sequence. Please note one important thing. This new sequence will be
created inside the new project, not inside the existing project we were working on earlier. So always make sure you are in the correct project before
creating sequences this way. Now, for method
four, simply drag the video onto this
icon right here. Premiere will
automatically create a new sequence based on
that clips settings. This is a very fast and
accurate method because the sequence will always
match the video's resolution, frame rate, and aspect ratio. After that, inside
the timeline panel, you can select which sequence
you want to work on if you have multiple sequences
created in the same project. And we use a custom
sequence when presets are not
flexible enough or when we need full
control over how the final video is going
to look and perform. This is common in
professional projects, broadcast environments,
social media repurposing, and motion graphics workflows. Custom sequences give us
the freedom to design the exactly to the
needs of the platform, the client or the creative idea. Now that you understand
sequences in detail, a sequence is where
your video is built. It's the heart of
the editing process. Everything you edit, cut, trim, animate, or mix happens
inside the sequence. Without a proper sequence, there is no final video.
13. Creating Subclips for Better Organization: We talk about sub clips, let me quickly
reintroduce Mark in and Mark Out points because this
is an important foundation. First, let's select this clip and create our in
and out points. Let's play the video Alright, let's gently open the hive
and take a look inside. The first thing we check is how active the bees are today. Healthy bees move calmly and
stay focused on their work. And use J, K and L. Now press
I to set the marking point. And press O to set
the markoutPoint. Use Control Shift Space
Bar in Windows and option K in Mac to play
only in the marking area. Now drag this clip into the timeline to create
a new sequence, and let's name it
B Health Check. Now, let's set
another in and out section. First play the video. All right. Let's gently open the hive and take
a look in science. In this clip, I want to set the point starting exactly
when the speaker begins the sentence with the word the to place the
point accurately, we can move frame by frame until the audio and video
line up perfectly. To step frame by frame, use the next frame and previous frame buttons
in the source monitor. Once we're happy with the
exact starting location, press I to set the in point. Remember, marking in
and out points always depends on your project needs and the demands of the scene. There is no universal rule. It is up to you
where you decide to take the in point
and the outpoint. Every edit is different and your creative
decision determines what portion of the
clip will be used. The first thing we check is how active the bees are today. This moment will be
our new outpoint. Drag the clip again
into the timeline, and now we've created
another section based on those in out points. Let's play it back perfectly. Thing we check is The first
thing we check is how. Now that you understand in
and out points clearly, let me introduce you to sub clips which make this
process even better. A sub clip is a smaller section
of a larger video clip. Instead of using the
entire long clip, we can create a shorter
trimmed segment from it without actually cutting or modifying the original file. First, we'll create a new
bin and name it subclips. This bin will store all the subclips we
create in this lesson. Next, choose a video clip from the project panel and open
it in the source monitor. We want to create two
subclips from this footage. Let's start by marking
our first section. Press play and watch the clip. Press I to set in point,
then continue playing. Press O to set an outpoint. Now we have a selected
range between in and out. To create a subclip, we can right click
and choose make SubclipO use the shortcut
Control or Command plus UK. Let's name this subclip
B drone view, start. Here we also have an option
called restrict trims. If this option is turned on, the sub clip cannot be extended beyond the
in and out points. If it's turned off,
we can still access the full original clip
later on if needed. For editing flexibility,
we'll leave this option off. We'll talk more about this later when we start editing
in the timeline. Now you'll notice the
subclip appears in the project panel and it has
a slightly different icon, so it's easy to identify. Let's move this subclip
into our subclips bin. As you can see,
the subclip plays only the selected portion
between the in and out points. Next, we'll create a second subclip from the same footage. We'll mark a new in point and a new outpoint for
the end portion. This time, instead of
using the shortcut, we'll use the right click menu, right click and choose make subclip let's name
this one B drone view. Again, drag it into
the subclips bin. Now let's create
one more subclip. But this time from a
different media file, open the new clip in
the source monitor. All right. Let's set
marking point here. Sally, open the hive
and take a look inside. The first thing we check is how active the bees are today. An outpoint here and
make another subclip. We'll name this
one Be inspection. And move it into the
subclips bin as well. Let's play the subclip and
we have only marking area. Take a look inside.
The first thing we check is how active
the bees are today. Now you might be thinking, why don't we just drag the clip into the timeline
and cut it there? And that is one possible method. However, the problem is that timeline cuts stay only in
that particular sequence. You can't reuse those
exact trimmed portions easily in other sequences. With sub clips, we can reuse the same selected
moments again and again in multiple sequences without having to re
trim or remark anything. This is why sub clips
are very useful, especially in longer edits.
14. Insert Edit – Adding Clips Without Overwriting: Now let's first learn
about the insert edit. The insert command is used
when we want to place a clip into the timeline without deleting or replacing
existing content, and we want the timeline to automatically accommodate
the new clip. Here we already have a
clip in the timeline, and we want to add another
clip to the sequence. One method we already know
is to drag the clip from the project panel or the source monitor
into the timeline. This works fine, and it does
insert the clip correctly. Now, let me show you
a much faster method. Let's undo that using
Control plus Z. To perform an insert, we can use the insert icon
below the source monitor. Or simply press the coma
key on the keyboard. One more important
thing to keep in mind when using the
insert command. Make sure your playhead is positioned at the
end of your clip. Otherwise, premiere
may overwrite the next clip when you
press the comma key. To quickly move the playhead
to the end of the clip, press the down arrow key. This jumps directly to
the next edit point. Once the playhead is at
the correct position, press the coma key to
insert the new clip safely. This simple step helps
you insert clips without accidentally overwriting or
replacing existing footage, and it's one of the
quickest ways to edit. Now, let's add one more
clip using the coma key. Now let's look at
another situation. Suppose we want to insert a clip between two
existing clips. One way to do this is to
manually drag the second clip forward to make space and
then insert the new clip. But there is a much
better method. Now let's press
Control or Command plus Z to undo the action. Use the page up or page
down keys to jump between edit points and
press the ma key. The clip is now inserted
cleanly between the two clips. This is the fastest
and most precise way to insert clips during editing. Here you can see that
no audio is available because this particular video
clip doesn't have audio. If the video did contain audio, then its audio track
would automatically appear here below the video
track in the timeline. There's also another
useful method. First, now let's
redo that action. If we hold control or command on while dragging the
clip into the timeline, Premiere performs an insert automatically without
needing the keyboard. It's completely your choice
which method you prefer. Both methods work, and
you can use the one that feels more comfortable
for your editing workflow. Now, let's look at the video
only and audio only insert. First, let's select these
clips and press Delete key, and we have only one clip. Let's select this
clip because it has both video and audio. If you want to insert
only the video, hold control or command, and then press this icon and drag it over
to the timeline. You'll notice that premiere only brings in the video
portion without the audio. This is very useful when we
don't need the audio track. Now let's undo the action. The same works for audio. Hold control or command and drag and only the audio will be
inserted into the timeline. Now let's undo the action. Now here's a very
important detail. Track selection controls
where the insert happens. If we select the V two track
and then press the coma key, the video will be inserted
into V two not V one. Insert always respects
the active target tracks. Now let's turn off the
video layer selection. When we press the
oma key notice that only the audio is inserted
into the timeline, the video does not appear. This happens because insert respects the active
track targeting. So before performing an insert, always check your video and
audio track selections, especially when working
with multiple tracks. In large projects, we often have several layers
of video and audio. Sometimes we only need to insert audio, for
example, music, voiceover or ambience, other times we only
need to insert video, such as Bole or Visual cutaway this technique
is extremely useful in those situations and gives us precise control over what
gets added to the timeline. The same rules apply to
audio tracks as well. Here we only have the video because we turned off the
audio track selection. Now, let's talk about swapping
clips on the timeline. Let's undo that action first. Let's insert a few more clips. Now let's talk about swapping
clips on the timeline. Sometimes we want to
change the position of two clips without overwriting
or deleting anything, and we want this clip
to be placed over here. But if we simply drag it, Premiere will
perform an overwrite and it will replace the other
clip which we don't want. To avoid overwriting,
hold control on Windows or command on
Mac while dragging. Now when we drag the clip
to the new position, the clips switch position
without overwriting each other. This is called a swap edit, and it's a very efficient
way to reorganize shots. Now let's create
one more scenario. Now, suppose that we have multiple tracks in our timeline. In larger projects,
this is very common. In this situation, if we hold
control and drag the clip, the clip will move from
its original position, but it will leave a gap behind. This can break the
flow of the edit, if not handled intentionally to perform a clean swap
without leaving any gaps. Hold Control plus Alt on Windows or Command
plus Option on Mac, and then drag the clip
to the new location. This swaps both clips instantly without leaving
any space in between. This is one of the best ways to rearrange clips on
the timeline because it maintains the structure of the edit and avoids
unwanted overwrites.
15. Track Select Tool – Moving Multiple Clips Quickly: Let's move to the Track
Select tool in Premiere Pro. This tool is extremely
useful when working with longer timelines or multiple
stacked layers of clips. The Track Select
tool allows us to select an entire row of clips on the timeline with a single click instead of choosing
each clip one by one. For example, here we have multiple clips and multiple
tracks in our timeline, and we want to
create some space at the beginning or somewhere
in the middle of our edit. One way to do this is to select all clips and drag
them forward manually. But if you're working on a large project with many
video and audio layers, selecting every single clip can be time consuming and messy. So let me show you a
much simpler solution. First, let's undo the action by pressing Control or Command Z. We can do this
instantly by using the Track Select tool or by
pressing the shortcut A. Just click on the timeline, and Premiere selects everything to the right of that point. When we drag, everything
moves together, and all video and audio
stays perfectly in sync. Now let's look at the
opposite situation. Suppose we want only
these three clips at the beginning to move, and we want the rest of the
timeline to remain unchanged. In this case, we can
use Track select backward or use the
shortcut Shift plus A. This tells Premiere to select everything to the left
instead of the right. So now only these clips
move to the new position, and the rest of the timeline
stays exactly where it is. This is extremely useful when adjusting or reshaping
the opening part of your edit or when
rearranging the beginning of a scene without disrupting
the rest of the project. We use this tool when. We need to make space
in the timeline. We need to shift large
sections of the edit. We want to rearrange scenes
during storytelling. We want to duplicate sections. We want to move entire sequences without losing for example, in documentary, music, video
and commercial projects, we often restructure
sections multiple times. Track select makes
that fast and safe. A common beginner
mistake is using the normal selection tool and manually dragging
clips one by one. This often breaks
sync or leaves gaps. Track Select solves
that instantly. So the Track Select tool is designed for large
timeline operations, helps maintain sync and saves a lot of time when moving
parts of your edit.
16. Multitrack Editing with Overwrite: This lesson, we're
going to learn how to create a multi track
edit in the timeline. Here we already have multiple clips placed
in the timeline, and we want to insert
a few more clips, both at the beginning and in
the middle of the sequence. First, let's create some space using the Track select tool. This allows us to move everything forward
without breaking sync. Now, we want to insert a clip
specifically on the V two. So let's target V two for video. For audio, we'll target A two, because if we leave A one
active and the clip has sound, it will overwrite
the audio on A one. This is a very important detail when working with
multi track timelines. Next, we want to insert clip. Let's review a few methods. If we use the normal
insert command here, Premiere will push
everything forward, but also leave a gap. So in this case, we don't
want gaps in the timeline. First, let's undo the action by using Control or Command Z. We can also drag the
clip into the sequence, and this method works fine
for basic insertions. However, now we have a different situation where
we only want to insert the clip into a very
specific section of the timeline
from here to here, for these types of
placement edits, dragging alone won't
be accurate enough. So let's use a more
precise solution. First, mark an in point and out point on the
timeline using I and O. This defines exactly where
we want the clip to go. Now click the overwrite button or press the period
key on the keyboard. Premiere now places the clip exactly between those two points without creating
gaps and without overwriting anything
outside that range. Let's do one more example. We'll select a new source clip, and in this clip, we only
want a specific section. So we'll set an in point and an out point in

whatever changes we make in the properties panel are automatically updated in
the Effect Controls panel. Both panels stay perfectly
linked and synchronized, so we can work from either

another template and drag it into the timeline. And this template has a
different resolution. So that's why this

the extra track. Now select only one video track. Let's create a shape. A drag it to the bottom layer and
change its color to pink. Make sure everything is inside
one single graphic layer. Now, right click on the clip and select Export as Motion
Graphics template. A new window opens. Here, first, you can
set the template name, give it a clear and
meaningful name. Next is the destination option. Here you can choose where
the template will be saved, local templates folder
or a custom location. Now let's move to the
compatibility section. The first option warns
you if the template uses fonts that are not
available in Adobe fonts, the second option warns you if the template uses effects that are not included
with Premiere Pro, these warnings are
extremely useful, especially when you share
templates with other editors. Keyword section at the bottom, we have the keyword section
here you can add keywords. Keywords help you quickly
find your template later, especially when you have
many templates installed. Export the template. Once everything is set,
simply click Okay. Premiere Pro now exports your animation as a
motion graphics template. Now, let's close all projects. Next, create a new project. And then create a new sequence. Find the template
that we just created, simply drag the template
into the timeline. As you can see, the template works perfectly
in a new project. And yes, we can edit the text, colors, and other

and resolutions. One important thing to
understand in Premiere Pro, when you place an image
into an empty timeline, the sequence settings may be created based on
that first image. So if you need a specific
sequence resolution, it's always better to
create your sequence first. For this example, we need
1920 by 1080 full HD. Let's drag this image
into the timeline. Because this image has a
resolution of 1920 by 1080, the sequence settings
automatically match the same resolution. That's why this is one of
the fastest and easiest ways to create a sequence without worrying about manual settings. If you don't want
to keep the image, you can simply delete it. But for now, let's keep it. When we select the image, we can see its controls inside the properties panel and
Effect Controls panel. Here we can adjust.
Position to move the image. Scale to resize the image. Rotation to rotate the image. You can also double click the image in the
program monitor. Now you'll see the bounding box or click here on this icon. From here, you can
drag to reposition, scale visually, rotate manually. This is a very
intuitive way to work. Now let me explain two
very important options. First, let's undo the action. Let's import another image. Press the page down key to
move the playhead to the end. Then press the key to insert
the image into the timeline. And you can see this image has a larger
resolution than our sequence. To quickly fix this,
we have two choices. Fill frame size,
fit to frame size. First, choose fit to frame size from the properties panel
or right click menu. Now the image fits
perfectly without cropping. But notice, we may see gaps
on the left and right. If we don't want those gaps, we can choose fill frame size. Now the frame is
completely filled. However, some parts of the
image will be cropped. You can also resize
manually if needed. Which option should you use? There's no single
correct choice here. It completely depends
on your project needs, your composition,
your visual priority. Always choose the option that gives you the best
visual result. Now, let me show you how to animate still images
in Adobe Premiere Pro. First, let's delete
both clips and then select all the images and drag them into the timeline. Next, select all the images. Right click and choose fill frame size so they
properly fit the sequence. By default, Premiere gives 5 seconds to every still image. If we want to change
this duration, go to preferences then timeline. Here we find still
image default duration. We can increase or decrease the time depending on
your project needs. Now, let's do some quick edits. Select an image on the
timeline and press Q. This trims the clip from the beginning up to
the playhead position. It's a very fast way
to clean up timing. Now, let's animate an image. Select the first image. Press page up to move to the
first frame of the clip. Go to the Effect Controls panel, enable the stopwatch for scale. Now reduce the size slightly. This creates your
first keyframe, move to the last frame,
press page down. Then use the left arrow
key for frame precision. Now let's use Fit to frame
to encars the image. Premiere automatically
creates the second keyframe, and now let's play. We now have a smooth
Zoom animation. Let's create the more effect
for the other images. Watch carefully on
screen what I'm doing. And we did it. And finally, let's add some music for a better preview and overall
feel of the sequence. Now, drag the music
clip into the timeline. As you can see, the music
is longer than our images. So we need to remove
the extra portion. First, lock the video track
to avoid accidental edits. Next, select the audio clip. Now press the W Key to trim
from the playhead to the end. And just like that, the
extra part is removed. So that's how we work with still images in

39. Rectangle Mask – Isolating Areas of a Clip: Now let's understand masking
in Adobe Premiere Pro. Masking is used when
we want to hide, reveal or isolate a
specific part of a clip. It is commonly used for hiding
objects, blurring faces, creating reveal animations, color corrections
on selected areas, text effects, visual focus. A mask is simply a selected
area inside your video. Anything inside the
mask remains visible. Anything outside the mask
can be hidden or modified. First, select your clip. Then click this icon here, and you'll see four
mask tools available. Let's start with the
rectangle mask tool. Click it, then drag on
the program monitor. Now we have a rectangular mask. By default, you'll see a
transparent colored overlay. You can change this color
using the mask overlay option, choose green or other colors. Select none if you
don't need the overlay. This helps you visualize
the mask area more clearly. You can also enable or
disable the bounding box. Move the mask. Adjust
the anchor points. Using these handles, you can resize and reshape
the mask easily. This control allows you to adjust the feather
value of the mask. Increasing the feather
creates softer edges, resulting in a more natural and professional looking effect. Inside the effect
controls panel, you'll find detailed
mask settings. Here you can adjust position, scale, width and height. Rotation. Anchor point. These controls give you
precise adjustments. Now, let's see the
real power of mask. Go to the project panel, go to the effects panel. Here you can see many
different effect categories. For example, under
video effects, you'll find a wide range of effects that you can
apply to your clips. Now to video effects, then blur and sharpen and
select Gaussian blur. Or we can search
Gaussian blur here also. Drag Gaussian blur
onto the clip. Now you can clearly see the
blur in the program monitor. In the Effect Controls panel, this section represents the
Gaussian blur properties, and this section shows the
rectangle mask settings. From here, we can easily control the Gaussian blur value and fine tune how the blur
interacts with the masked area. But what if we want the
blur outside the mask? In the mask settings
enable invert. Now the blur affects
the outer area instead. Currently, the mask
edges look sharp. Now let's increase
the feather value. And as you can see, we now
have smooth, softer edges. Press the Tilda key to enlarge the view so we can clearly
see the softness of the mask. We can also adjust the feather manually using this
control point. Increasing the value further
creates even softer edges. Let's adjust the more feather
for a better visual result. And now let's play the timeline
and preview the effect. Let's add another effect,
brightness and contrast. Select the effect and
drag it onto the clip. Now go to the Effect
Controls panel, and let's adjust
the effect values. And as you can see,
the effect applies to the entire screen to apply the same mask
behavior, copy the mask. Paste it onto the new effect. Now both effects follow
the same masked area and we can invert the mask to control where the

40. Tracking Masks – Following Objects Automatically: Now let's learn a very important real world
editing technique, face blur with mask tracking. This technique is commonly
used for privacy protection, interviews, documentaries, YouTube videos,
sensitive content. Now we want to blur
the face of this lady. But as you can see,
the subject is moving. So we need a mask that
moves along with her face. To do this, we have two
main options Ellipse mask to quick and easy selection. Pen tool mask to
precise custom shape. If you just need a fast result, the ellipse mask
works perfectly and now choose ellipse mask
and create the shape. You can also use the
mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or zoom out inside
the program monitor. Just like that, we've
created the shape. As you can see, it's
very easy to create. Let me tell you
about Pen tool mask. First, let's undo
the previous action. Select the Pen tool. Now, click, click, click. To create a custom mask shape, you can drag anchor points
to adjust the shape. To add a new anchor point, simply hover over the mask line. When you see the plus icon, click to add the anchor point. To delete a point, hold control or and click
the anchor point. Now, delete the mask and let me tell you how to create
a curve path mask. If we click and drag, we create curved handles
for smooth roundness. And we can add or
delete anchor points. We can make a curve
adjustment by this handle. If you want to adjust only
one side of the curve, hold Alt or option. Then drag the anchor point. This allows you to
adjust the curve on only one side instead
of both sides. Using this technique, you
can create a more precise, curved and rounded mask shape. Now, delete the shape, now select the
ellipse mask tool. Position the mask over the face. Resize it to fit properly. Now comes the important part tracking in the effect
controls panel. Click the track mask button. Premiere will
automatically analyze the clip and make the
mask follow the movement. In track both directions,
forward and backward. As you can see, the mask now
follows the face smoothly. Now let's add the blur effect. Go to effect. And
then Gaussian blur. Drag Gaussian blur
onto the clip. Now let's adjust the blur
amount for better result. Also, increase the mask
feather for softer edges. Soft edges always
look more natural, and just like that, we've blurred the moving
face automatically. Now let's move to
manual tracking, and we start from the beginning, meaning a fresh unmasked clip, which gives us much more
control over the mask movement. This technique is
especially useful when automatic tracking
doesn't work perfectly. This time, let's
use the Pen tool. Select the clip, choose
the Pen tool mask, and carefully draw a shape
around the subject's face. Take your time
here. Precision is important for clean results. And here you can see that the mask is not moving
with the lady's face. Now go to the Effect
Controls panel. Under the mask settings,
locate mask path. Click the stopwatch
to enable animation. This activates key framing. Move the playhead
slightly forward. Now adjust the mask position to match the subject's movement. Premiere automatically
creates a new keyframe. Continue moving forward
through the clip. Move the playhead,
reposition the mask. Repeat this process until the
entire movement is tracked. A We've now completed manual
mask tracking. This method provides
maximum accuracy, especially for complex motion. Now let's apply a
different blur style, go to Effex and search Mosaic, drag the mosaic
effect onto the clip. Adjust the block settings to control how pixelated

41. AI Object Masking – Smart Subject Selection: Now let's explore one of the most powerful
AI based features in Adobe Premiere Pro 2026, the Object mask tool. Traditionally, masking
required manually drawing shapes around subjects. But with the object mask tool, Premiere can now detect objects automatically
generate masks, instantly, track
movement using AI. This dramatically speeds
up professional workflows. First, let's play the clip. In this example, we want
to blur this man entirely. Select the clip on the timeline. Now, click the Object mask tool. When we click it, Premiere
scans the frame and displays selectable regions
based on detected objects. As you hover over the clip, you'll notice an overlay highlight showing the
detected object areas. Simply click on the subject
you want to select. Premiere will automatically
create a mask. Go to the Effect Controls
panel. Click Track mask. Premiere will analyze
the motion and make the mask follow the
subject automatically. I now we have a
perfectly tracked mask. Next, go to the Effects panel. Search for Mosaic, drag the
mosaic effect onto the clip. Now return to the
effect controls panel, adjust the mosaic settings to control the
pixelation strength. Increase the mask feather to create softer edges for
a more natural look. And now let's play the clip. As you can see, the
subject is fully blurred and the mask follows

extend audio clips, smooth out transitions,
fixed timing issues, avoid jump cuts,
and the best part, it generates realistic
frames using AI. Generative Extend uses
Adobe's AI technology to create up to 2 seconds
of video extension, up to 10 seconds
of audio extension or 2 seconds for both
video and audio together. It analyzes the last frames of your clip and intelligently
predicts what comes next. Now we have this clip.
First, let's play it. You'll notice that
when the spaceship enters the frame and then
the clip suddenly ends, the scene feels incomplete. For the shot to feel natural, the spaceship should fully leave the frame
before the clip ends. So to complete the scene, we need a few extra
frames at the end. First, select the
generative extend tool. When we select the video, both the audio and video
are selected automatically. But if we want to extend
only video or only audio, then we can use the
selection tool, hold Alt or option and click to select only the video
or only the audio. But for this clip, we
need to extend both. So simply select
the clip normally. Now activate the
generative extend tool. Click and drag the edge
of the clip to the right. Premiere will begin
analyzing the footage. It may take a few
seconds while AI processes the motion,
lighting and audio. Once processing is finished, the clip will be extended
by up to 2 seconds. Now let's play the clip again. You can see the spaceship
now fully exits the frame and the scene feels much more complete and natural. The timing is smoother and
the edit looks professional. That's the power of
generative extend fixing incomplete

white color to blue. And instantly the video
takes on a blue tone. Now adjust the amount to tint slider to fine tune the
intensity of the effect. Now, let's see the result
in the program monitor. Remember, we can apply multiple
effects to the same clip. Let's add another effect. Choose a vintage style effect, drag it onto the clip. Now return to the
effect controls panel. Here you can adjust parameters. Adjust these settings to
achieve your desired look, vintage amount Width height. Scale. Angle, center, roundness, feather, and other
stylistic controls. And now our video has a
clear vintage appearance. Let me show you the before and after applying the effects. First, let's turn
off the effects. Now preview the clip
in the timeline, and now let's turn
the effects back on. This helps visualize how
effects transform footage. We can also change the order of effects applied to a clip. Simply drag an effect up or down in the effect

engaging and visually dynamic. Let's apply one more effects. This effect simulates
realistic light beams, creating the illusion of
light passing through space. It's often used to add a dramatic cinematic
atmosphere to your footage. With this effect, you can create sunlight streaming
through windows, good rays or glow effects, stylized lighting highlights, dreamy or cinematic visuals. By fine tuning these controls, you can achieve subtle
lighting enhancement or bold cinematic effects. This effect is widely
used in creative edits, intros, dramatic scenes,
and visual stylization. Find edges. Vertical effects. Black and white. And many more, feel
free to experiment. Simply drag any effect
onto a clip and adjust the settings inside
the Effect Controls panel. Video effects are
powerful tools. Use them intentionally,
adjust carefully, and always focus on enhancing
the visual storytelling.
44. Copy & Apply Effects Quickly: Now let's learn how to copy effects from one
clip to another. This is one of the most important workflow
techniques because it saves a huge amount of time
in real editing projects. I created a vintage style black and white
clip using effects, and I want to apply the same
effects to other clips. Now look at the effect
controls panel. Here you can see the
effects already applied. At the top, we have
the Vignetteffect. Below that is brightness
and contrast. Next, we have black and white, then lumetri color, and
finally, the tint effect. Each effect contributes to the final visual look if we want to apply these same
effects to other clips. Then go to the Effect
Controls panel and select the effects, and then press
Control or Command C. Now select the target clips. And paste the effects. If you want to modify
the effects later, simply select the clip and
adjust the effect values. Now let me tell you
another powerful method. First, undo the action. Select the effect or
effects you want to save. Then right click and
choose Save Preset. Give your preset a
meaningful name, something that helps you easily recognize the style later. Click Okay. Now go to
the Effects panel. Open the presets folder. Here you'll find the

in real editing workflows. First, let's undo
the previous action. Go to the project panel. Click the new item icon. Then choose adjustment layer. Click Okay. Now drag the adjustment layer onto the timeline and place
it above your clips. Position it exactly where you
want the effects to appear. Now simply drag your effects
onto the adjustment layer, and instantly, all clips beneath it inherit
those effects. This means you
don't have to apply effects to each
clip individually. One of the biggest benefits if you no longer
need the effect, you can simply turn
off the effect, disable the adjustment layer, or delete it completely. This makes adjustments
incredibly flexible. If you want different
effects for specific clips, simply cut the adjustment layer and modify the
effects separately. This gives you enormous
creative freedom. You can also create
multiple adjustment layers. Each layer can contain
different effects, allowing advanced visual control and complex compositions. Adjustment layers are essential
for global color grading, applying consistent effects, fast workflow management,
flexible corrections. This technique is widely used in professional

45. Video Transitions – Smooth Scene Changes: This lesson, we're
going to explore video transitions in
Adobe Premiere Pro. Transitions are
essential for creating a smooth visual
flow between clips. They help your edits
feel natural, polished, and professional instead
of abrupt or jumpy. Go to the Effects panel,
open video transitions. Here you'll see multiple
categories, animation, dissolve, grunge and distort, immersive video, and more. Applying transitions
is very simple. Select a transition, then drag it onto the edit
point between two clips, and instantly, you'll see the transition appear
on the timeline. Is long enough? We
can easily change the transition duration and its position to
adjust the duration. First, select the
transition and simply drag the edges of the transition directly on the timeline. Drag outward arrow, increased duration,
drag inward arrow, decreased duration,
a longer duration creates a smoother and
slower transition. A shorter duration creates a faster and sharper transition. You can also reposition
the transition, simply drag the
transition left or right. This allows you to
control whether the transition starts
earlier or ends later. Premiere lets you
define start point, end point using the
effect controls panel. You can perform the
same adjustments inside the effect
controls panel. Here you can increase
or decrease duration, set alignment, fine tune
transition behavior, transition alignment options. Premiere provides three
alignment choices. Center at CUT transition is
evenly split, most common. Start at CUT transition
begins at the edit point. End at CUT transition
ends at the edit point. Most editors prefer center
at Cut for balanced visuals. If you want to remove a
transition, simply select it. Press delete. Premiere Pro
includes many transitions. Let's apply some
more transitions, such as fold dissolve dip to black. Dip to color. And flicker. Feel free to try other
transitions as well. The most widely used
transition is cross dissolve. It's also the default
transition in Premiere Pro because it's subtle, smooth and professional. To quickly apply transitions, use Shift D, apply default transition to
both video and audio. M. Or for individually, use Control or Command
D for video transition. Use Control or Command Shift
D for audio transition. It's a huge timesaver. By default, when we
press Shift plus D, a cross dissolve is applied automatically because it is set as the default transition. You can change the default
transition as well. Simply search for
another transition, then right click
on it and choose set selected as
default transition. You'll notice a
blue highlight box indicating the active default. When I press Control
or Command D, the cross Zoom
transition is applied automatically because it is now set as the
default transition. Transitions are about
flow and pacing. Keep them subtle,
consistent, and purposeful. Clean transitions always
look more professional.
46. Green Screen with Ultra Key: This lesson, we're going
to learn how to work with green screen footage
in Adobe Premiere Pro. Green Screen, also
known as Chroma Key, allows you to remove
a background and replace it with any
image or video. Because green is rarely
present in skin tones, software can easily
detect and remove it. Once removed, you can place your subject into
any environment. This technique is widely
used in YouTube videos, films, interviews, tutorials, visual effects, creative edits. In the timeline, I've
placed two clips. The first clip is the
background video. The second clip is the
green screen footage. Now we want to remove
the green background. Go to the Effects panel, search for Ultra Key. Drag the Ultra Key onto
the green screen clip. Ultra Key is Premiere Pro's
primary Chroma Key tool. Step two, go to the
Effect Controls panel, locate Key Color, select
the eyedropper tool, click on the green background. And instantly the green
background disappears. Removing green is
only the first step. For professional results,
we need refinement. Under the output section, you'll see three
important options. Composite to default view Alpha channel to shows the mask, color channel to displays
color information. Let's switch to Alpha channel. This view helps us clearly
see the mask quality. White equals visible
black equals removed, analyzing the mask. Now let's zoom into
the program monitor. This allows us to inspect
edges and find details. Ultra Key provides
several preset modes, default to balanced mask, relax to softer mask. Aggressive to harder edges, custom to full manual control. Now let's switch back
to composite mode. As you can see, when I
change the keying settings, the updates are immediately visible in the program monitor. This real time preview
allows you to clearly evaluate how each adjustment
affects your footage. Now, scroll down
to MT generation. This is where we
refine the quality of our key and
clean up the mask. Here we can adjust transparency. It controls how much of
the background is removed. Highlight, it helps recover
bright edge details. Shadow, it improves
darker areas of the mask. Tolerance, it determines how aggressively green is detected, pedestal, it fine tunes edge
separation and cleanup. These controls are extremely important for removing noise, small holes, edge imperfections
and uneven key areas. Proper mat generation
adjustments are what transform a rough key into a clean,

visual problems. We correct issues like improper
exposure, low contrast. Color casts, washed out

grades or cinematic looks, we must first ensure the
image is technically correct. We must first analyze
the footage properly. First, observe your video
in the program monitor. Ask yourself critical questions. Does the image look too
dark or too bright? Are skin tones natural? Is there a color cast, too yellow, blue,
green, et cetera? Are highlights blown
out, A shadows crushed? Does contrast feel balanced? Does the shot match other clips? But visual inspection
alone is not enough. Our eyes can be deceived. Now let's analyze the
clip technically. Go to the window menu
and open lumetri scopes. Make sure these three

tonal separation. Shadow values are not properly
anchored near zero IRE, which can make the image
appear slightly flat. So we need to balance both
ends of the tonal range. Now, let's observe
the RGB parade. This scope displays the red, green, and blue
channel separately. It allows us to analyze
the clips color balance. What we need to check?
Are the channels aligned? Is one channel dominant? Is their color imbalance? Is there a visible color cast? And here we can clearly see. The red channel is
slightly elevated. The green channel is dominant. The blue channel

fix dark tone. And we use black and blacks control the darkest
black points, lowering blacks adds
depth and contrast. As I adjust the Black's value, you can see the waveform
scope updating in real time. This is extremely important
because it confirms that our correction is based
on measured luminance, not just visual perception, and contrast controls
the separation between dark and bright areas,
increasing contrast. It deepens shadows, brightens highlights,
and adds visual. Too much contrast
can crush details, adjust carefully, and highlights affect the brightest

information lives. When you adjust different
areas of this curve, you are changing brightness in those specific tonal regions. So instead of affecting
the entire image at once, you can precisely
control shadows, mid tones, or highlights
independently. That's why curves are
such a powerful tool for professional
color correction. Now let's fix
highlights and shadows with Luma curve first, select the master Luma curve. To increase highlight
brightness, click in the upper
right portion of the curve and gently drag left. This brightens the highlights. To deepen the shadows, click in the lower
left portion of the curve and gently
drag slightly right. As you make this adjustment, watch the waveform scope. You'll notice the shadow values
moving closer to zero E, which adds depth and
improves contrast. Now, the highlights and

format and give a name. In the timeline, you can manage the caption track just

caption track header, then choose delete track or delete caption track,

removed from the timeline. If you already have

smartphones, laptops, and TVS h264 uses advanced
compression technology. That means it keeps
the video looking sharp while reducing
the file size. This is why it's perfect
for online sharing. However, if you
need very high end editing files or
broadcast delivery, you might choose formats
like QuickTime ProRes DNxHD. But for 90% of creators, H 264 is the ideal
export format. In short, if you want
high quality with manageable file size and maximum compatibility,
choose H 264. Now let's look at the source and output information at the
bottom of the export window. This section is very
important because it shows the technical details of your project before
and after export, and this the preview of
file which we export. The range setting controls which part of your
timeline will be exported. When you click the
drop down menu, you'll see four
options, entire source. This exports the full
sequence from start to end. No matter where your
playhead is positioned, Premiere will render
the entire timeline. This is the most
commonly used option when you want the
complete video. This exports only the portion between your in and out points. If you've set in and out
markers in the timeline, Premiere will render only
that selected section. On the left side,
you'll see source. This shows the original
sequence settings. For example, resolution,
frame rate color, space scan type
audio and duration. This tells you exactly how
your timeline is set up. Always double check this to ensure your export
matches your sequence. On the right side,
you'll see output. This shows how your
video will be exported, for example, format resolution
frame rate, and more. And finally, it displays
the estimated file size. And if we change
the per set Fremat, this output setting will change, like if we set QuickTime format. You can see now we have
new output setting. And if we choose AAC audio, Now we have only audio output setting because this

method for basic exports, you can also use the Quick
Export icon at the top right. Click on it, and you'll see
some default export options. This method is much faster
and great for quick sharing, but it has limited customization compared to the
full export window. And now let me show you the
final rendered footage. I've worked with bees for years, long enough to understand
their rhythms, their moods, the quiet

hive had barely survived the winter and I didn't know if they had enough

52. Exporting with Adobe Media Encoder: This video, we will learn how to export files using
send to Media Encoder. This is one of the best
options when you want to export multiple videos
from a single project. Let me show you an example. Here we have two sequences. The first sequence 15 all contains the
fully edited video. The second sequence S video
contains only two clips. Now we want to export
both sequences. Yes, we could export them one by one using the normal
export method, but instead, we'll use
send to Media Encoder, which is much more efficient. First, select the sequence
15 A. Click on Export. Check the export settings to make sure everything is correct. Then click Send
to Media Encoder. Media Encoder will open automatically and
your first sequence will appear in the queue. Here you can see the
output video settings. If needed, you can
change the format, preset or output location. Now go back to Premiere Pro. Select the second
sequence, Sum video. Again, click Export.
Check the settings. And choose send
to Media Encoder. Now you'll see both sequences added to the Media
Encoder Queue. This means both videos
are ready to export. Now click the Start Que button. Both videos will
begin exporting. And here's the
biggest advantage. You can continue working
in Premiere Pro while Media Encoder exports your
videos in the background. When working on large projects, exporting high
resolution videos can take a long time,
sometimes even hours. If you use the normal export
method inside Premiere, you must wait until the
render is complete. But when you use Media Encoder, the export happens in the
background. Don't need to wait. You can continue editing, organizing or working
on another sequence. This makes your workflow
faster and more professional. For large projects or
multiple exports sent to Media Encoder is a huge timesaver
and highly recommended.
