1. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool: How does my name's John Timmy? I'm a jewelry designer and tutor from the South Coast K on welcome system setting class with a difference, one that teaches you how to make your own stone setting tool. There are many different so sitting tools available in the market designed for different types of settings. And if you've watched my stone such rings class or honey comb hearings class, for example, you'll see me use a vessel pusher on burnish to set the capital stones. But sometimes the standard tools that you can buy don't fit the project that you want to set a stone in there. So learning how to make your own tools is a very valuable skill. I want to share this skill with you on So designed the ring that you can see here. He has three elements. So just on the top, this simple hand band but vessel setting for a five millimeter round pharmacist cap on Little Daisy either side the position of the daisies presents a traditional petal pusher or even a shop bought burnish for fitting down the side of the vessel to set in stone. And so I'm going to teach you how to make a perfect tool to fit there out of a simple steel nail. I'm not gonna teach you through every step of making a room because that's already covered in some my other classes on. I will miss those up with links to those in the class materials. However, I will give you a few hints and tips of extra information to help you out. In particular, I'll give you some help with. So drink more than one element on top my questions up to share with you in this class. So if you're ready, let's have a look at the materials and equipment that we're going to need. I get started.
2. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - possible tools to modify: e ray different stone setting tools on things that could be turned into stone setting tools on the desk in front of me. At the moment, these three are commercially available. Burnishes, um, but knows bona show that. So you've seen the use and so setting classes in the videos before a straight Notre version I prefer to use the boat knows I for I can get a better practical my finger. They're basically and helps me to work with it from it better. I've also got really nice and that more expensive singer Punisher that helps me get into tighter spaces and smaller areas. That's lovely to see that. So for the Carver handle, this one's a lot newer. Vorsah gots pencil pusher. I got that out, and one of the reasons I got that out was to show you if I get the ring here, they're gonna be working on. There's no way that is going to get in between the setting on the flowers there to set the amethysts, and that is one of the main reasons for making another tool on. Then something's not one after the way because that one sweetie, the only one out and then these, uh, once it while this one has already been made. But these were things even used to help you make your own stone sitting tools. So this one is basically an older version off this little stubby, uh, negative for screwdriver out. Negative thing about 19 rather across. So we just started out something like like this one. But you can see it. I moved about to the light. It has bean shaped and ground down and go through roast great memory papers. I'm gonna be showing you in this class and polished until it is a much more pleasing shape . And it's brilliant for use in, um, for setting stones in tight spaces. But it's still a little bit too big, too wide for the so sessions. I'm working on the ring, but this screwdriver, though, doesn't look particularly pretty. It can be used to make a really nice tour. Mother. Things I like about it is that hold it in part of my hand, but my finger that, like so and I can work really nicely with it. I like tours that I can hold like so everything is a little bit too short for me, but it's not bad for something. I just picked up a little shop that's not bad at all. You can, of course, if you're wanting to work, to create something with a lot smaller, working every what's well ahead. You can get different size screwdrivers and you can grind those sound exactly the same way what I do find. So I have yet to to find a nice thing, one like this in a short handle. So what I usually do so find that he's definitely too long for May I like my finger up by the working area. I end up cutting it out of the handle, so work grinding down the head making that really nice is smooth. But then cutting the handle off on fixing it inside a wooden handle much like thes once around ones around one's kind of onion shaped ones, personally are the ones that I like again, cause I could hold them important. My hand and I find them easier to grip on easier toe work with. So you will see me setting a stone eso I setting the Sun City tool that we're going to be make your stately setting it into an onion shaped handle like that, though you know, that was a way. This is another alternative. This can be used to hold different tools or even drill bits so that you can have one handle her tour and they're great. They were Seymour pricey when these friends was You need to pick these handles up for a couple of pounds. This'll is, uh, a price year. Well, let's say something. Maybe £8.9 pounds. I paid for this comparison. It's a bit price here. Um, but unfortunately, the nail that I'm going to be using to create the stone setting to in this class it is too big to go in that chuck there, um on. And this is the biggest chuck that I can get to fit this particular tool. Eso I think you might be able to use this handle, but I want to show to because if you want to make quite a few chuckles and didn't want to have to buy lots of different handles, then you can have one handle on into change them as well, obviously as they fit inside the chuck. Andi, this is something else that she could use with the nail that we're going to be using out of the way. This is an old bird around birth. Andi, the birth itself because it's really quite old now has got blunt in a few areas on and doesn't cut through the metal very smoothly. So things like old burgers can also be turned into different tools. Snipper for cut off underneath the birth on, then shape and grind down what you're left with a very similar way, as I'm going to be showing in the class, and they then do fit into these handles. So what I really wanted to show you is that you can have a look around. Yeah, I Y shops. Have a look around what you might already have in your workshop on See what you can turn into a tool. He doesn't have to be something that starts off life as a Peter jewelry equipment. See what you can adapt. Sometimes you can surprise yourself and make yourself the perfect tool. That's just right for the job that you're working on and just right for you on the way that you prefer toe work from very, very keep starting materials
3. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - equipment: thing is a bit of a different jewelry set up thing what I usually show you. But after all, the focus of this video class is making a tool. Rather than showing you how to make every part off a piece of jewelry, I wasn't going to be using a tool to finish off the jury in this case, setting a stone on the ring that I showed you in the introduction. The tool starts out as a steel nail on. Did you can see the nail here in the middle or it's in the middle of the shot? This nail is about 75 millimeters long on four millimeters in diameter if you don't include the head of the nail. Andi, I actually got its for packages 30 for a pound from the local pound shop, so they're not exactly expensive, but they do the job nicely. I've also got a wooden handle that I'm going to push the finished birds shot into such. It makes it more comfortable for use. The first stage of making a banish is to cut that head off on. I'm going to use my ordinary jeweler's saw or to do that on support the nail on the bench. Paige Asai saw it through. And then comes the fun part. I'm going to use this week's stone, this knife sharpening stone that can be bought very cheaply. This one was about £4. It's double sided. The dark gray is a sightly course, a great than the lighter Bluey Grey section. Andi, I'm going to use that to help me shape the nail. I'm going to lubricate the stone with a few drops off three in one oil. You could soak the stone in water instead if you prefer to do that. But I prefer the using the oil. I must say, I'm working. I'm going to sit stone on that, the piece off paper kitchen town that you can see here just because it can get a little bit messy. Even more careful. Once I shaped the nail toothy, banishing ships I want on the course of site of the week Stone on DTI tight it up a little bit further. Finest side. I'm going to transfer over to the four pieces off wet and dry paper that you can see here. I've got 406 108 101,000 grit. I'm using wet and dry paper because it's a little bit stronger. So it's gonna last a little bit better while some working on it to make sure that my new burner shirt is a smooth as possible because after all a marks and the burn issue we get transferred onto silver, I'm going to use some polishing compound. This is just luck. See polishing compound, actually, the same type that I would use on my silver. Well, im going to rub some of that onto the piece of leather that you can see here and use those to help me get rid of any last marks and get to my branch up to a nice shine says really nice years. In the last couple of tools you can see here are a bench crump. Andi a hammer. This is thesis a mold hammers I use for hitting texture, punches and my discussion and so on. I'm going to hold the knee, finish burnish er in the clamp on, did you use the hammer toe hammer, the wooden handle into place? I'm also going to use the leather the same lifetime going polishing. I'm going to use that to cushion the clump to protect my boner shut because obviously, after working on it to make its re nicest was possible. I don't want to put any more marks into it. Now we see to make the ring I needed some your equipment on soldering equipment on did you can see all of those in the ring classes of so setting classes that I will refer you to in the class materials?
4. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - ring materials: No way. I'm not showing you how to make every single step of the rings I'm setting. The AM assistant, I thought, still show you the materials that go into making it. Eso first of all about the ring shank, which I made using the instructions in the simple hammered ring in class. It's made out off two millimeter round stoning silver wire. Andi is being given a nice, hammered texture. I'm going to make the setting for the five millimeter AM assists that you can see. Here's the really lovely deep purple amethysts. No, make that out off a piece off three millimeter wide battle wire on bond, a piece off silver scraps that so quite thin doesn't need to be too thick. And if you're not already familiar with how to make a small stone sitting like this, then the stone centering classes the one you need to look out for for the instructions and that. What about she got two pieces of silver sheet here. The rectangular piece is the pieces I'm going to use to cut out the two Little Daisy. Sedated here to be about nine millimeters in diameter on this or sheet is no 90.8 mummy Too thick If you like. Some extra tips on soaring out very small shapes than the Oakley's earrings class is one that you will find useful. The other piece is so far the slightly wonky pieces of piece of scraps that's going through the rolling mill. So what times to sit down being left over from other projects. And that's what I'll use for the base of stone setting on. I'll use little pieces of either one of those to make football says they're going to go inside the daisies.
5. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - making the ring: way you seen the ring. The tie making this to four is made for my nemesis with Little Daisy set either site, The daisies are decorated with silver balls on dive made those from melting scrap on top of charcoal block. I use a charcoal blockers. It would you cease the ox ization on, so gets a slightly smoother finish to the bulls. Usually, though, I'm only melting two bulls here. I usually melt several balls at one time and then choose the best matching pairs. The Bulls were sold it to the daisies with hard solder. Now don't be afraid to move them into a better position of the soldier flows that we need to. A soldier pick is very useful for this. Now, I suppose, the bottoms of the daisies and the ring itself around it. Some filing is needed to create a larger joint surface area on DSO, a stronger soldier joined. Very important. I filed the bottoms of both stays easily flat by holding the holding a flat, six inch file. We'll act on the desk or fast on the cushions. You can see here and then pulling the daisies back towards the handle, a trick computing quite a few classes now in stone set ring class. I showed you how to file the ring in preparation for soldering, and here I'm going to do exactly the same. But I'm going to do a little bit more preparation because there are three separate things. A soldier on top of the ring. I placed the AM assist and it's setting at the soldier joint on the daisies. Read aside, I don't want them so close to the petal to go over the setting, but I need to make sure that the decorations stays on top are not down the side of the ring . Otherwise, the ring could be but uncomfortable toe wear. The Sharpie marks position of each decorative elements certificate file a flat area for each on the ring. - Next up is soldering, but I take each element at a time, using bent nose tweezers to hold living in place on top of the decorations, I started with stone setting, using medium solder, my used hard soldier to soldier the balls in the middle. I also used hard soldier to soldier this ring close a meeting medium soldier now again, the stone said rings class goes into this in a little bit more depths and go through with you. Where to put the solder for best effect, - the daisies were both sold it on with Easy Soldier. Just make sure that you removed the heat as soon as a soldier has melted blown across the joint and you'll be fine. It is possible to do more than one soldier joined with the same melting temperature soldier as long as you're watching out for signs of soldiers have melted, but you don't keep flame on there for too long. - Do you remember as your soldering these that the tweezers are a heat sink? They will draw heat away from the ring, and so it is best to heat them up a little bit of start as well. In between soldering each section on you might notice this. I have cleaned up the ring. I take off, quenched and put in the pickle to take the opposite ization off. So sold has got the best chance to flow really nicely across the soldier, joined by the way I decided a soldier days. He's on top of my older block, the one that has dips in it as it supported everything. A little bit more security. He didn't. What? What about Tool? The last step for setting the stone was to polish the ring. But before we actually get onto setting stone, we've got to make that new tool. So better get on with that.
6. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - shaping the tool: I think this is a clothe week. Stoneleigh Knife sharpening stone on You can see here the two different great sister the course. A grit on the fine. Aggressive I'm going to be working with both on. Just contracted a little bit of oil. 231 oil to their Just because replication makes it work a lot. Lot better than more efficiently. Andi, what I'm looking to do is turn he end much of the way so I can focus properly. There we go. The end of the nails sort of entered the nail. There were going to turn that more into this kind of shape. Show you again, the the screwdriver. Taif turned into a different tour the second years again for as a, um I petal pusher in type it's places and also as a burnish. Er, but see, this is a little bit too big for sitting stone in the ring out. I've made so by myself a smaller one so, so particularly difficult. It just needs, um, bit of patience. Andi, also purse appearance, I think to go so with a different stage. So it But it's not difficult. And then you end up with a great tool that has bean custom made especially for you. So tell me what you're going to do is hold this at an angle. We'll change the angle. Some holding us as we go through. Put it back. No, you see degree forming part stone hearted of seal. This is one of the reasons why did you leave your fate heated us down a bit. Helps go smoother. You may notice that I'm actually coming back in force along with Stone. And that's because, unlike a fighter sharpening a knife, I'm running using this very skilled line rolled the stone at any one time. It's very easy is I've done down pass it when you shut out. Uh, very easy to create a agree just like DeVry there like that. Decree off on and leave a paper towel Out of the way so much we go vested. Focus. You can see the ground don't area that had already bean created. So I need to work until I have got, um, a grand away most of that distance across here, um, leaving enough to keep it strong. But I want it still enough to be able to fit into the gap in between stone setting on those little flowers. I want a wider area polished area down here. I'm also going to take the shaping around the sides as well. So again mimicking what I've got here. So let's say I'm going Teoh film. So speak up the film a little bit and then cut to the stage where on virtual day with shaping. And I want to do some more grinding two sides on to the top so because you don't need to watch the whole of face to take a while. I said possibilities. He here we go speeding up now. - I just went to a good 10 minutes, shaping the nail here on the left. This one is there. Here is just one that I just saw on through. I haven't done any grinding to it. It'll just because I want to show as a contract so hopefully can see on the one that I'm turning around the one of the left, I put a nice slope in their Christian nice face. There is requite senate top handle, any shaping at the edges at the moment. So at the moment, these sites here in section here feel quite sharp, but you can see I hope so. I compare these to the same that way around that they turn it, see how much it has bean shaped. So I put the ring here on guided soldier. These flowers really quite close to setting. What about by Careful because this tour isn't finished yet, So I don't want to put any scratches in, but from very careful, I can see that I can now get in between just in between the better war on and the Patil and as I start to set so little bit easier and easier to get in there. It's not ready yet. It is too rough. So fine cream over concerns that the way What the This screwdriver out that has been adapted already. Just remind myself with smoothness. Yes, I'm aiming force. I got to yet So bring the stone out again. You can see here they This is stone that bean ground off being watched off with the 31 oil mixed in such a debris that comes off and you can see as well were wiped the nail on the kitchen towel to get rid of the debris that builds up on it to give me a better idea of heart looking system. Why do you need a kitchen towel or some kind of paper towel? Teoh? Keep you what? Just give it crema. So we're stopping doing is in the main. Putting it back you saw before take you a little bit going back in force. That's as well, which is a bit of a quick action. But I find doesn't your such accurate shaping so teach. I can't focus. It is a little bit going packing for five aptitudes. Mainly, like so source I'm going to do now a salsa film on oil on here. Silly bouquet suddenly ties anymore just yet. What was I'm going to do is actually go Chris like here. So I'm actually chipping over Andi, chipping over sets on the side and just grinding a steep sides as well. Just you see, we have builds up just taking off. So I feel that already it started to soften those edges already. So there's a little bit more work one way shipping about you ever working on different areas of stone site. I don't just not for the groove in the stone to make it a CTO Use another time. Keep working on that. And yet it feels nice already. Um or so with direction. I like to use show you different actions I like to use and you see which works best for you is also holding it one side bits of cutting the faces have been working on is here. I just hold it like so Put it back on right up on the excess. Well, just stop doing at my chip shut the other way. That also helps to smooth it out. Smoothed off those eight years what you want sous fears, A little bit of a curve at the ages and certainly no, no, sharpness it all with a curve. I'm also going to work when he was well, so got the face. Have been working on the slope. That's where my finger is now. Don't work a little bit, but the chick underneath so that I don't have any sharpness there sluicing and preventing a little bit more, I think much like when you're working here wise, use your fingers more than your eyes. Really to help you feel which areas need to be worked on. If it feels shuff. A tool is anywhere. Tour to your fingers. Then, if it's not rounded smooth enough to use, you have silver. - That does feel a lot better. So just going to do a little bit on this side, which is a slightly finest side, and you're seeing some. There's no oil on this side yet, So just a little lubrication saying FLOTUS helps. It will go smoother. So no gonna spend very little on this site. Just going to go through quickly swore off the same actions on the first side. Andi. The job of this site isn't read to grind off much more research to do, much shaping, but to start off doing more, smoothing, some going on the edges. Now you want to see the shape on the angler, which I'm holding everything a little bit clearer now because oversea this side, there's much chasing color to the steel nails I'm using. Yes, this is light, a bit of contrast, working on yet your social bit, and it's can that it's starting to look, um, a little bit smoother. They don't quite scratch, She before went quite a few marks in here scratches in this so that out of the way, we're gonna move on to the vast grades o from this wet and dry paper cups. I got four different grades to go through. So we're going to do in this one. Is that the way you don't need them? Thanks for doing this. - Okay . Already that feels and looks as if it's making a difference. So on to check the 600 double checking I have picked first you light one up. By the way, if I usually mention state from sending silver that even the Emery paper goes in my scrap pot because of the dust that becomes infected in it, how they remember this is steeled us. So this only play for serving, not going to go into my scrap parts. It's still got a lot of life left into left in it after I've done, um, fish job. But I will keep it a separate Baikal on both my hitch with steel so that I know that it's to be used for this kind of job and not be used. My silver. You can't just keep feeling it. That's what I was looking a sense. Yeah, next one, you must make sure that you work through foot brakes The questions I Yeah, it won't actually sweet the process that whatever do make sure you leave you with two with This is good enough what we have here, my other tools on the table rattling about. Okay, Lost every paper. And now being given to push. Being nearly ready to use Magnate is to that as I worked, um, through the grades it's haven't needed along each great You wishing longer some courses grades. Hey, that is very, very nearly ready. I can't get a little bit better by using. You have a leather peace polishing compounds this piece. Yet leather Hasn't bean use a job yet? It's actually just did not cut off a note. A little bag, my tools. I'm gonna move those rightly tours, then my Brendel's. That's a wrap the, uh, wrap wire around to form the core. That is better. So once you got a piece of leather that you've use quite a bit, it won't take long to prime it. But because this is a new piece which I'm using because I assumes that most of you watching this would be starting off with a brand new piece it takes a little bit longer to prime with the polishing compound, but once you are strong, there it is a place off, be backwards and forwards. In the first few times you used this, the fibers will come off. I don't see the difference in that now. It's actually I know things after the way. So your focus on the chemical focus on there is the shine that's come up in that already quite a big difference again. This state doesn't take particularly long, but it is really, really worth doing. And also do the other side the nail as well. Because of those that isn't the site of the most important shape it's still going to come into contact with with your liver of silver with the new piece of leather. Sometimes he needs to put so polishing compared on on. This will get less fibrous, um, and smoother to use, the more that so the board and use that. But that really could not. It's a nice finish now this stage of polishing, if something I go through with the tools quite often, so this one we'll see. It's nice to smooth, which it isn't so polished so this one is ready for a new punished as well. So it's important not just to make your tools properly, but also to maintain them as well on board to examine them each time you use it before you actually start using them and just double check to see what there any marks that need to be removed and, if necessary, go back through. So the western dry paper to remove any marks before you give my final polish. So this one doesn't eat any marks you're moving. But that Polish has made short, nicer, smooth to use. Eso got one. What's that end? One finished shaped nail there Quite a difference to the customer friend that we started with we're trying to do now is show you how to put that into the handle.
7. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - fitting the tool handle: e set my many clump up. It's actually clamped on Teoh my bench papers. The jaws are F society small company, inch of my my bench. Typical s. It's essentially come onto a clump, but it does job nicely. Shouldn't I hope, move about? I've also cut a short piece of that that later leather off Sydney. The whole lengths for polishing on what I'm going to use that for in their self a little bit helps is to don't push it too much. Thank you to someone such around the nail as it's held in the clump. Does that really, quite rightly, the and their national record to nail anymore? Google. It burn shock because it's changing after work to it. So it's cushioning a tool inside the clump so that all that hard work doesn't get damaged on. What I'm essentially going to do is use. You're homeless. I used to hit discs adjust, so I hit the discotheque cannot disks. And so on, um, to Hama, this wouldn't handle on toothy end the nail. Remember one of the reasons why um, I didn't work on this. End of the nail was that that would allow me on I shaped to start hammering it into this wouldn't handle because that's what it's designed for. Talk about design I got to see in there is a hole in their a pilot hole. Essentially that wooden handles should have pre drills just to make a little bit easier for you. Astonish. Just if yours doesn't come with a pilot hole drilled into it, then you do one in yourself. So, um, it was something to do. Hold this in the I tend to look down when I should have it more than you were doing at the moment. But if I had the camera looking straight down it, I wouldn't be able to look straight down as he gets to the right angle. But when you do this yourself, look, we'll straight down it so that you can see more clearly that you're holding the handle at the right angle on that you're going hammer it in the right angle so that the Bernie shirt is as straight as possible in the handle. It might come out of a slightly different, uh, slight on the walk. The stretches stretches possible. - It is actually pushing. The Bircher was too much for this, but we're getting there. Hey, catches now I think firmly in. So what kind of angry it? It's, uh, a little bit of a a little bit of an angle, but not bad, actually, more of an angle that way. But that's not bad, but most importantly is in firmly on. But it's a good links for May. Look at that weight. All of the reasons why I like these this kind, handles said earlier, is that it onion shape goes to the palm of my hand. Nicely said that That's a really nice angle. So me pleased with that? Um so the next thing I need to do is to use this to set that am assist in the ring.
8. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - setting the stone: now that my loving you, But I show my have the new stone sitting tool is amazing. As of firmly. It's handle. It's funny time to set the amethysts in the ring. So I put the ring in my ring from though something to point out to you with a setting like this. Um, where? The setting during further around the ring. If you want to stay sitting in the middle, then the so setting doesn't fit, so it doesn't sit rather flat on top off the ring. Clampetts a little bit proud. So if you're someone who relies on the fact that your stone setting is flat on here to carry some extra support, and that's something you do have to bear in mind that is not maybe supported. If you were to push into it from the side, it's not. Maybe supported as much as you were might be used to doesn't mean that it is a problem. It just means it's something to be aware off that it's sitting a bit proud because of the things he's a site. So what? My five mil. I'm Assis in the box here, I'm sure said you before that I tend to use, Uh, the box is much bigger than the stones to actually keep my stone to my piles in whilst I'm well before they actually get set. So that, well, I'm far less likely to miss a box like this that I am a stone. So anything that helps keep it it's safe now. As always, I'm going where I'm sitting stones. I'm going to work crisscrossing back across the so, and I'm not just start in one place and then work my way around because that would lead to even with a sore sitting like this, it will lead to the silver bunching up by the time I got almost all the way around instead of being nice and smooth eso it is far better to do it this way. I also always want to make sure that I'm pushing at the bottom are not just at the top of the setting. I went to make sure that the whole of the wall is pushed his tightly Whole heist awards pushes tightly up against stone as possible. So even though I'm using a different type of tour, not using official was a pusher. I still want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. So my change, my biggest challenge, as always, is keeping everything in view of the camera holding everything safe because I want to put my some over like that support everything's I do. The first couple pushes. I also want you to see what I'm doing so I can have a balance between the two and already trying to keep everything in focus. So see how we do so I'm gonna start off just by pushing here I am pushing down the whole of that depth of the wall, um, pushing in like so you could see. I hope so. I moved it around that that section of war is now pushed in, turn around free on site. So at this point, chip of the tool is fitting just underneath that petal. Okay? I can definitely see a different shapes and that I'm assist aside. Push across of my some It's not moving at all. So I'm going to do this side. No, I just changed tool over. So the tip again fits underneath that petrol. So the same movement as I would with with a petal pusher I'm pushing up against and then walking over slightly again. Tentative. Same here. I can just fit some. Denise, that's push up and over now. What time? Um, not going to be able to do here on here is go right down to the bottom of the setting. Um, I would have to make such a thin and narrow tools that it would be a rescue believing marks on the vessel wall that I would not want to get out. So these points just do the best. He possibly can hope so. For most of this design, I am going to be able to go right to the bottom of the setting as well. But there are a couple of points where this is not prepared to do that. So now that I've gone, now that I've gone crisscrossing back and forth, it is more less says, not tidy. But it feels firm. IHS feels ice and secure. So my job now is to with these points it haunt flushing up against the stone. My job now is to get those to push in nicely. So I don't have to be quite so strict about, uh, crisscrossing back and forth. Just making sure that I have coach in to all those tight spaces, which, of course, I'm able to do because of the shape of the truth that I just made. There's one awkward that one there that I need to That's a bit better, right? So that's the Stone set. My next job is to make sure that I can get those edges really smoothed up against a stone on and nicely shined on. Dykan do that with this tool as well. So just go round and now just rub with the polished face, just a little section of the time on. And for this, I can go round. I don't have to crisscross if I show you don't say, But the light catches really nicely on that Polish section was there. I haven't heard much on this side, so don't with the picks up on camera, but I can certainly see it in real life. There's no bright push line there, but around this side there's a nice white pushed line around the top of the vessel on, and that side is definitely nicely pushed into stone. As I said and flush up against it, this side, I think he's still be moved in a little bit further. So we carry on. Do that, make sure everything is pushing nicely. Burnish nicely and then show you the finished me.
9. Make Your Own Stone Setting Tool - final thoughts: wait. So this is finished. Ring a security set am assist with Daisy either site and really nice polished basil on one that I wouldn't have been able to set without the use of my lovely customize. Still now burnish. I'll obviously be able to use when you burn the show for other jobs as well. But one thing I will have to make sure is this is really nicely polished before I use it again. Because any marks is it picks up will be transferred onto the silver or the gold if I'm using gold to set the stones. Now, this is true off any shop port burnish Show a petal pusher, of course, but because this is made of a softest steal, it is more likely to pick up Mark. So it is important to check that you may not need to just publish it picks up particularly a deeper mark on the partial doesn't take it out. Don't be afraid to go back to a couple grades of the Western dry paper to Sandoz marks out . And then we polished because the last thing you want is marks on your vessel. It actually take a lot longer to clean off. During that, taking marks out of the burnish ER would have done in the first place, so it really is important to look after your tools. Well, obviously, if you store them safely so banged up against each other, you can help to reduce the marks they might pick up. It's still worth checking before you actually used to each time. I do hope that you found the class. Useful hours have inspired you to not just use the tools that you can buy, but also see what you have finally adapt to make it fit the job you're doing. The project. This class is to make a tool, but obviously, if you make the Children, then use it. That's a nice bonus, but I love to see the tools that you make on maybe the stones use among in the class projects. Please do leave from view for the class because that helps on the students to find it on. If you have any questions, add them to a class issue ocean. Don't get back to since I can thank you for watching
