Tooled up
I really enjoyed this project. Over quarter of a century ago, I went to Bookbinding College, and spent the first week gathering and making tools, and cases to keep said tools in. I was able to get my whetstone and it's case from the loft and repurpose it for silversmithing - yay!!
I found some nails from the shed, and used some old prosecco corks as handles, whilst I see if the tools are any good. I used a couple of lost head floorboard nails, a random pin nail and then ground down both ends of a broken jewellery drill bit for a burnisher. I'm delighted with the results
It was a joyfilled couple of hours making these. I've now got to test them.
