2. What is Print-on-Demand?: In this video, we will
begin this course by defining what
print on demand is. If you already know a
print on demand is, you can go ahead and
skip this video. But this is for people
that want to have a clear understanding of
what print on demand is and how you can have
your own online print on-demand business
using Shopify. Print on-demand is a name
of a business model, specifically an online
business model that you can do with Shopify. And the basics of print
on-demand is that you don't have to
deal with inventory. Instead of dealing
with inventory, you work with a supplier that ships and prints all
of the items that you design online for you so you avoid the headaches of
trying to find out if you have an item in stock
or not or dealing with inventory and if you bought
enough and so forth, print on demand is a great
business model because not only does it avoid this
headache of inventory, but it also streamlines
the process of sales by taking care of shipping
for you as well. On top of this, there's multiple suppliers
that you can work with and collaborate with
to sell your products. We'll get to that
in a little bit. But first let's just continue to finding the basics
of print on demand. Yes, Print on Demand
is a business model that you can use
with Shopify that doesn't deal with inventory. And whether you sell sweaters or shoes or anything
else that you plan to sell. There will be
someone accompany or supplier that can produce this product for you physically. When you have a print
on demand business, all you deal with is the online side
when I mean by that is designing the merchandise, designing the products online. You don't have to deal
with anything physically. Of course, if you
choose to, you can. But again, the basic essence of a business model using print on demand is of course not dealing with physical inventory. On top of this, you can also use print on demand to set up your online
business and expand it. Whether you are
planning to create your own unique line of clothing or setup as a merchandise store for whether you have
an artist that you're working with or anything
else among those lines. In case you're wondering, is it too late to start using Shopify to create an online
print on-demand business? No, you are not late at all. In fact, print on
demand continues to grow over the years and
will do so over time. And so therefore, you're not
late at all in anything. Just continue to use Shopify to create your print
on-demand online business. And you'll be just ahead
of the curve actually because lot more businesses
are taking this approach. This is what print on demand is. And in the next video lecture, we're going to talk
about how print on-demand works with Shopify.
3. How Does Print-on-Demand Work on Shopify?: Now that we know
that print on-demand is an online business
model that doesn't require you to manufacturer your own products and
doesn't deal with inventory. Let's talk more so about the supplier side
of print on demand. When you decide to have your own online business with
the print on-demand model, you'll be working with
a variety of suppliers or just one that you trust and also has the designs for the products available to print and also the
products themselves, whether it be sweaters or pants or shoes or
whatever have you. These suppliers
are manufacturers that will not only
print the item for you, but ship it to your
customer and they take a cut of the profit from
each sale that you make. You do not worry about paying for the item
until it ships. And on top of this, you can connect to the suppliers through
Shopify using apps, also known as applications,
Shopify applications. These applications are
applications that you download it to your Shopify
platform and store. And therefore you
reach the suppliers, manufacturing suppliers
through these apps in order to collaborate
with them and have your products
printed and shipped using the suppliers
through their apps. So much like you have
apps on your phone. You know, Shopify also has its own app marketplace as well. So think of Shopify as like
the iPhone or Android phone. And then of course, think
of the apps on Shopify, much like your iPhone
or Android apps. The Shopify App
marketplaces where you go and search for suppliers, print on-demand suppliers,
and manufacturers that can then print and ship your items
to your customer for you. This is a great way and
it's very convenient. And these applications
are of course, free. They come with your
Shopify subscription, monthly or yearly. For the print
on-demand suppliers, those will always be free. The ones that do cost are, of course, more
advanced suppliers. There are some suppliers
that require you to have a monthly plan for them as well. But that's something
we'll talk about later on in this course. But just know that this is what the essence and
basics of print on demand is and how it connects
and works with Shopify. It is a great
business model If you definitely want to have
your own online business. But don't want to deal
with the headaches of having your own stock and tracking your own
inventory and so forth. The best thing is Shopify is a great platform for
this because it's easy and intuitive to use
and anyone can get started. So it's not a daunting
process though. Of course it does require
some work to set up at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is a no-brainer
because you can repeat the process
over and over. With print on demand. You can not only create
products quickly, but you're shipping
is taken care of for you by the manufacturer. And you don't have to worry
about dealing with inventory. Of course, some things
to be aware of is that the manufacturer
does take a cut of your profit and you don't have as much control over your shipping because they
take care of it for you. And each supplier has a
limited range of products. This is why it's
important to work with more than one supplier
if you plan to offer a variety of different
products and a diverse set of different
product categories. In the next video, we're
gonna talk about things that are important to
know before proceeding.
4. Things to Know Before Proceeding: Alright, so now that we've
covered what print on demand is and how it
works using Shopify, we now must talk about some things that are
important to know before proceeding with creating
an online business using this print on demand
model with Shopify. Some things that we're
going to talk about in this video lecture are things
like picking your niche, brainstorming the type of products that you're
going to sell. And if you're going to design your own products or hire
someone to do that for you. First, let's talk
about what a niche is. More specifically
a market niche. Market niche is basically a specific area within
the market that targets certain customers and sells a certain
variety of products. An example of this would be, let's talk about
the pet industry. That is a huge, huge industry. So if I want to narrow it
down and pick a niche within that industry to be unique
or original and stand out. I would target my business to, let's say dog owners. Within the pet industry. My niche within that
industry is for dog owners. So therefore my
products and so forth, my targeted customers
would be dog owners. My products would
then include anxiety, dog bowls or doggy treats,
whatever have you. So as you can see, this is
like a theme for my business. That is basically
what a niche is. And it is important that
you think about this before starting your
print on-demand business. Because you want to
make sure that you know what it is you're
going to be selling. One thing to keep in
mind is that before even researching any good suppliers
for print on-demand, think about your niche. Do some market research
if you're unsure, think of what is selling now, what is trending now? Or maybe you already have
a passion in mind that you're really into and you
can use that as your niche. For my online, for an
on-demand business, I used the niche of rabbit
owners, bunny owners. And as you can see
here on the screen, my products are targeted
for owners of rabbits, and so therefore my
products are very themed in that regard with the
designs and so forth. Next, let's talk about
determining the products that you will sell on your online
business with Shopify, this is very important
because each print on demand supplier has a
certain variety of products, some have more than others. And so it is important
that you brainstorm first what it is you
plan on selling. Do you plan on selling sweaters, pants, shoes, accessories? What it is you're going to sell is very important
to know beforehand. Because each print on
demand supplier again, has their preset products
and you can't change them. You can't really request them to add one unless there's
a huge demand for it. Instead you're going to have to look for another supplier. It's good to have an organized
list of what products you are going to sell on your print on-demand business with Shopify. To this video lecture,
I have attached a brainstorming exercise
that allows you to jot down and brainstorm
not only your niche, but also the products that
you intend on selling. This can be something as simple
as a sweater or a shirt. You don't have to
get too specific. The point is that of course, these are blank
products that you will add your design onto. This, of course, leads me to my third in this video lecture
that you should know is, who is going to
design your products? Are you going to yourself or are you going to hire someone? Because let's say
you already have some experience with
designing things, designing different
designs in the past. And you want to use these skills within your online
print-on-demand business, you can definitely do that. I've done that myself as I have ample experience
with graphic design, I designed my own products for
my rabbit owners business. And I use Photoshop to design the designs for the
products and so much more. But not everyone has
this experience. So if you don't have
any design experience, is it the end-all, be-all? Of course not. You can
always hire a freelancer to design your products for you using websites like
Fiverr or Upwork, which are great online
freelancing websites that allow you to hire someone
for a low cost and you'd basically
tell them what you have in mind if you
have a vision or let's say your rough draft or a
blueprint made that you drew out what it is that you want your
designs to look like. Then they can send you the
files that are completed. And if you're satisfied
with the designs of the freelancers that they
made for you that you hired. Then you can of course, use these for
commercial purposes for your online business. Make sure that you clarify that before they go ahead and design anything for you that
you'll be using these for commercial purposes and make sure that they are
okay with this. This is an important agreement because of course
this imagery might be copyrighted and you don't want that at all
because you're gonna get into issues with
companies and corporations. That's also important
to talk about. You have to make sure that
your designs are original. You can't rip off something
off of Google and plaster that onto any
print on demand products. The designs have to come
uniquely from you or the person who hired and they
have to be non copyrighted. Make sure that you are aware of that you
don't want to get into any legal troubles when starting your
online business. But these are some
important things to know before proceeding. So make sure that you
check out the resource to this video lecture and use it to brainstorm
not only your niche, but also the products
that you're gonna sell. Of course, if you already
have these in mind, this brainstorming exercise
shouldn't take you too long. But if you don't, not to worry, you can do some market
research online. Checkout the trending niches and products that are
the best sellers the moment or if you
have a passion project, you can start there. You have to make sure
that you're actually willing to create products
and design products in this niche or else it's gonna be very
boring and you're not gonna have much motivation.
I hope this helps.
5. The Shopify App Marketplace: All right, Welcome
to the next section of the course where we'll be getting started with
print on demand on Shopify. In this section of
the course, we will actually begin working with the Shopify platform to get our print on-demand business
up and running and set up. And so much more. In this video lecture, we will specifically talk about the Shopify App store
or App Marketplace, something that we've briefly mentioned earlier
in this course. We now know that the
Shopify App Store is where we can connect to the
print-on-demand manufacturers and suppliers that we
can then add to our Shopify platform to
then be able to start designing products and
then letting them ship and print the products
that we designed to your future customers. So now is the time to actually get involved in doing
our research for the print on-demand suppliers that we would like to work with for our print on demand
online business in shop. Now it's important
that you keep in mind the brainstorming
activities that you have worked on by now from
earlier on in this course. Make sure that you
have those exercises all filled out and
completed as best as possible because you will be grabbing those activities
and brainstorming exercise pages as a way
to filter out and sift through the best print on-demand apps that are best
suited for your business. Because again, like
I mentioned earlier, every supplier for
print on demand has her own preset
line of products. Some have shirts,
some have sweatpants, some have both, and so forth. It's important that
we make sure that we don't spend too much
time downloading just antiprotons demand app that
we download some that are of course useful and
relevant to our business. But that's something
that we'll get to talk about later on. Right now, let's just first introduce you to the
Shopify App Store. Alright, so as you can
see here on the screen, we have our Home tab. This is my Home tab
and homepage for the Shopify platform for my print on-demand
online business. So what we're going to
have to do in order to access the Shopify
App Store from here, from the left panel we're
going to click the button that says apps under discounts. All right, So after
clicking Apps, you can see here that I have
a list of mine installed apps for my Shopify business. Now something to keep in
mind is that of course, there are not only
just print on-demand apps that are other types of
apps, as you can see here, we have apps for
things like upselling, which is when your customers at a checkout
and you want to add an discount or an offer
to get more from the sale. That's what an upsell is. We have that as an app that we can install or we have other apps here that allow
us to connect to other platforms online which
we can sell our products, such as Etsy, as you can see
here, and also Facebook. And on top of this we
have other types of apps, such as e-mail marketing apps, photo re-sizing apps, and
others along the way. These are just the
apps for my business. You don't have to
use these apps. I just find these apps
useful and relevant towards my print
on-demand business. But every print on-demand
online business has different needs and of course then requires
different apps. But just be aware of that. Of course, these
apps are not just limited to being
print on-demand apps. You have also other apps
that can enhance and boost your product sales and enhance your web stores design
and so much more. And I will mention
again that most apps are free or have a free trial. But of course in this
screen we're just looking at apps that
are already installed. What we need to do is go
to the Shopify App Store. So what we'll do is
click where it says customize your store at the upper right here,
this green button. Let's go ahead and click that. And it'll take you
to the URL that is apps.shopify.com,
a PPS.shopify.com. That is the URL for
the Shopify App Store. Then you might be
wondering, how do I begin finding some print
on-demand suppliers. It's as easy as
just clicking here in the search bar where
it says search apps, then just typing in print on
demand, then hitting Enter. What this will do is that
it'll filter out the apps in the marketplace for
those that have the print on-demand category
associated to them. So as you can see here,
we have 355 results, so we have a decent amount to get through and
we can of course, sort these print on demand
apps by how relevant they are, how installed they are, or which are the newest ones. As we go through the
Shopify App Store, you'll notice that some of
these apps have ratings. This is a very great Measurement to see
how trustworthy and app is with print on-demand
and just for apps in general. If an app has a lot
of high-quality five-star reviews,
four-star reviews. That means that the app
does what it's supposed to, that it's trustworthy that
it delivers and so forth. If an app doesn't have a lot of reviews or the reviews are low, this either means
that the Ebass2 new doesn't have a lot
of people that have installed it or is just a bad app and doesn't
deliver on the results. We'll talk about the
reviews and absolutely. But later on we actually
get to installing one. But for now let's just
take a look here. So as you can see here
on the left panel, we have more filtering
options here. We have a variety of
different categories here that relate to
print on demand. But if you just want
to see them all holistically, just click all. Now a great feature that Shopify does offer
that I recommend you always check is that you check the C only compatible
apps checkbox. Because depending
on your version of Shopify and so much more, there are some apps
that will not work with your version or Shopify
or whatever have you. Make sure that you
usually always have this C only compatible
apps box checked. As you can see, this narrowed the amount of print-on-demand
apps from 355, two hundred, three
hundred twenty six. So that's good
because it saves us the headache of potential installing an app
that may have been, may have not been compatible
with our version of Shopify. Let's just keep
scrolling down and taking a look at these
print on demand apps. As you can see here, we
have some great known ones and in the next video lecture we'll talk about the best ones. But for now we're just learning how the Shopify App Store looks, how it works, and how you can
find apps and install them. So as you can see here, most of these are free or have a free trial or a free
plan and so forth. And again, you can use all of these if you prefer
or you can just use one of these just depends on how much products you plan to sell and the diverse categories
that you plan to sell in. Whether it's shirts, pants,
dresses, shoes, etc. There's limitless amount. It's just a TU depending
on how much time you have or the ambition. This is what it'll look like. But for the sake of just
learning how to install an app, we will just click this
one here that says print Taylor, print on demand. We click the name. And what's great about the Shopify App Store
is that it tells us in detail even before
installing the app, so much about the app
that we've selected. It tells us the
name, the supplier, a little short
description about it, the amount of reviews, if it's free to install or not. And then if we keep
scrolling down, we can see that we get more
information related to the app and what it can do and its functions
and so much more. We didn't have screenshots
here that allow us to see the app in
action if we installed it. And if we already
have this installed, this is what it would look like hypothetically on
our Shopify store. If you like this
look in this design, these screenshots are a
great way to take a look at how this would look on the
aesthetic side of things. And then if we keep
scrolling down, we have a full
description of the app, what it offers, the
features and so much more. This is a really great
information here to read. Definitely make sure you do that before installing an app to make sure that it offers
what you intended. Because every print on-demand
app and every app in general offers a certain
amount of things, certain specific
amount of things. And you want to make sure
that these are suited to what you're looking for
and that they're relevant to your business. If we scroll a little bit up, we can also see that there's
a support tab if we want to get in touch with the creator of this
app or the supplier, and we have any in case we have any questions
or concerns, we can email them or contact them via their
website and so much more. If we scroll down
past the description, we will also see the pricing. This is obviously
very important to know since this is free. It says here for you install, as we talked about with
print-on-demand apps, every time you make a sale, they take a cut of your profit to cover their
printing and shipping costs. So that's what it says here, which is why these apps
are freedom install because they'll be
making their money, not when you install their APA, but when you actually
start making sales. Then last but not least, are the reviews from actual business owners like
yourself on Shopify to have installed this app in
the past and have given their input on what they
think about this app. And so as you can see
here in this app, has three, five-star reviews. So it's very recommended. Though of course it would be better if it had more reviews. But as long as it's 5-stars, it's okay from now, maybe this is a newer app, so it doesn't have
that much installers, which is why there's
so little reviews. But as you can see here, these reviews are
very important to read and take note of
what people are saying. Because they will give
you insight as to the apps success and functionality and
if it really does deliver on what they promise. Then if we scroll down
just a little bit more, we can see a list of other apps on the
Shopify App Stores are similar to this
print on-demand app. Print tailor that we
use as an example. And we can see here
there's some other ones that Shopify thinks you
may be interested in. But of course, this is how the Shopify App Store
works, and therefore, it is a great way to actually
expand your business, enhance your Shopify
store and so much more.
6. Installing Your Chosen Shopify Apps: All right, So welcome back. In this video lecture, we will now learn how to install our chosen Shopify apps and more specifically our
print on-demand apps. But this applies to
all apps in general. Now we know what the Shopify
App Store is, right? And we're exposed to it and we definitely know
what it can offer. It can offer us a variety
of different apps that we can use to
enhance our business and also connect with print on-demand suppliers
and companies to get our products printed and shipped to our customers using
this business model. So what we're gonna do in this video is we're
going to install a print on demand app and add
it to our Shopify platform. So then we can be
able to use it. And this is very
important to do so. That way you know how
to do this process before we talk about
the next video lecture, which will be of course, choosing the best Shopify
print-on-demand apps for your print Hanuman business. But before we get to that way, we must first learn how to
actually install an app. And it's relatively simple. So let me go ahead
again and just type in print on demand and hit Enter and just choose any
print on-demand app that we see so we can then
be able to install it. So let me scroll down
here and make sure that I check the C only
compatible apps box. Because again, this
is very important. We want to make sure that we
only install apps that are compatible with our
Shopify version. Then let's just click this one. That's huge POD. As an example, it must first click the name
of it, the title. Then we click Add app. Now you know about
the name of the app, the creator, the reviews,
the short description. Some even offer a video to
show you how their app works. They go above and
beyond to make you feel like you're actually
choosing the correct app. And also so you can learn about them in an interactive manner. But of course you
can always read the description down
below and so forth. But let's just go ahead
and click Add app here for the sake of
installing an app. So we've clicked it and now we just wait for
this to take place. Then we get this screen, which is a screen that
you will see every time you click Add app. Within the Shopify App Store. It says you're about
to install huge POD, which stands for
print on-demand. Then it says from them to
your store and vice versa. Then you can see here all of the permissions
that they will be able to have if you grant them access by agreeing
to install this app. So there'll be able to
see your account data, edit your products, orders, blah-blah-blah,
and so much more. This is normal and
they need to have this information in order
to be able to execute your orders and learn
the information regarding your customer
and your business itself. Of course. Then we'd done
agreed by clicking install app here in the
green at the bottom right. Alright, so after
it's done that, we're back to our list of apps. As you can see here. If we scroll down, we can see huge POD print on-demand app has
been installed. So just like that, all you do is that to
install an app from the Shopify App Store to
your Shopify platform. And then of course,
if we always want to delete the app,
we click Delete. But for the sake of
showing you then how the app actually works
within your Shopify store, we make sure to click
the title of it. Alright, and then this would be the final step in
order for us to use this print on
demand supplier and app with our Shopify store. We must make an account on huge POD is end on
the manufacturers and this is completely normal because of course you not
only need a Shopify account, but you also need an account for every supplier or manufacturer. Usually most of them, not
all that you work with. So again, it's
important that you make an account on their end by
typing here your e-mail, your password,
confirming the password and then clicking register. And then that'll give
you access to them. Look at the products
that they offer for you to import your designs onto, to then be able to sell in
your store and then have them print the products for you and ship them to your customer. But nonetheless, this
is how you install apps and more specifically, print on demand apps on Shopify through the
Shopify App Store. I hope that this helped.
7. The Best Print-on-Demand Suppliers: Welcome. In this video lecture, we will be talking about the best print
on-demand companies, suppliers, the ones
that I recommend and have used before that I
recommend to you in this course. You don't have to
use these print on demand suppliers that I
mentioned in this video. But I do recommend them and they are a great way to
get started with print on demand and hit
the ground running with excellent print-on-demand
suppliers and companies. So before I proceed, I just wanted to make
sure to let you know that what I will be
mentioning in this video, I have also attached
as a resource to this, a video lecture for
you to download a PDF file with a list
of these five best print on demand suppliers
that you can use with Shopify to get your online **** on-demand business with
Shopify up and running. Before, right before I
get to talking about the five apps I'll talk about in this video
and how I rank them. I just wanted to let you
know that I rank them based on many things
that you should definitely take into an account before installing an app in general and also a print on demand working with a pronoun
a man supplier and company. Some of these things that I took into account
when rankings, these five print on demand apps included things such
as reliability, trustworthiness,
the shipping times, the high-quality material and the high-quality print
and the samples. If it's easy to get a
sample for your product, we'll talk about the syllabus
later that's important. And also other things such as the usability of
the app interface. Is it easy as it hard? Is it glitchy or not? Does it have good reviews? Is it well known? Is it reputable? All of
these things are important. And of course, most importantly, the prices of the print on
demand products themselves. You want to make sure
that you are getting the best margins, aka the best cut. So that way you reap
the most profit. So these are
definitely ranked upon that type of writing style and taking these
things into account. My first recommended
print on-demand supplier and company is printf. Printf full is a
reputable and great recommended print on demand
company because they are one of the most reliable print on-demand companies out there. And on top of this, they have really
great prices for their print on demand products for you to be able
to make a profit. And their product quality and prints for your
designs are very, very high in excellent. Not only this, but
they also have a lot of great guides to help
you use their app. And their app itself is pretty
easy and intuitive to use. There is little to no lag. It's pretty easy to start designing your own
products using their app. And on top of this, it's
obviously free to install. And if you find your
way lost or confused, they have great
customer service. Not only this principle also
has a great way for you to definitely duplicate
your designs onto many products after you've
designed your first one. So that way you don't have to manually do them one by one. This saves you a
lot of time and as a neat feature that
not a lot of print on demand apps have
on top of this. Printf for themselves, work with a variety of different
suppliers across the world. Therefore, the print on
demand products 3D design and rarely go out of stock even during the busy
holiday season, in which this tends to happen. Therefore, I do really recommend print TFL because they
are very, very reputable. And on top of this, they're shipping
speeds are pretty fast for a print on-demand supplier. And your customers
will get their items guaranteed within a few
days to a week maximum. So this is why my
number one most recommended print on demand
supplier is principle. Secondly, my second most recommended print-on-demand
supplier company is printed phi. Because much like printf, they are also reliable, though I do admit their
items for print on-demand do tend to go out of
stock from time to time, especially during the
busy holiday season. Nonetheless, they also offer great margins for you to
be able to make a profit. And they're printing and product material are both high-quality. Whatever your design is
guaranteed to appear on the products that will be shipped out
to your customer. Now on top of this, their
app is fairly simple to use those sometimes it can
lag and go a little slow. So make sure that your
internet is working at top speed or that you
have fast Internet. In addition to this printf, I also offers a lot of
customer support and guides and accused to help you
if you do get lost. On top of this, they also have a number of suppliers
that they work with, much like printf full. So that way they do
this to curb and prevent items from
going out of stock. Though they are much smaller, so they have this tool
more limited degree. So just be aware of that. Lastly, they're shipping
speeds are pretty average for a
print-on-demand company. Now typically take about a
week for your customer to see their order delivered
on their doorstep. So just be aware of that, that they're shipping
speeds are a bit slower. Nonetheless, I do
recommend printf. I very much, number three. My third most recommended
print-on-demand supplier and company is subliminal. Subliminal is a great print on demand supplier
because they offer a niche variety of products that many other print on demand
suppliers don't offer, such as customizable
face masks with filters, car seats, and other things
you wouldn't expect. Another great thing is that their products rarely
go out of stock, making them very reliable even
during the holiday season. In terms of inventory, however, I must admit that
their app is not most intuitive or fastest to use
and it does tend to glitch. So you have to make sure
that your internet is at top speed if you're going
to use subliminal later. But so illuminator does offer some guides if you do
get stuck or lost, but expect to wait awhile if you decide to contact their customer
support through e-mail, I instead recommend joining
their official Facebook group to ask them questions as they
respond, they're very fast. And lastly, the thing that keeps subliminally
or a third places, the fact that they're shipping
speeds are quite slow. It will take about a week
and a half at minimum for your customer to see their product land
on their doorstep. But they do offer express delivery at a costly
price if you are interested in getting
your shipping and delivery speeds
faster to your customer, there'll be aware
that if you are going to pay for
express shipping, you have to make sure that
to charge your customers more for shipping
in that regard. But nonetheless, even
with this in mind, I do recommend subliminal later. My fourth most recommended
print on demand suppliers, not so much a print
on-demand supplier as it is a drop
shipping supplier. And it is called Spock it. If you don't know what
drop shipping is, it's a little different
compared to print on demand because
with drop shipping, items are already custom-made
for you to quickly cell. You don't have blank canvases
of products to work on, to add your designs
onto, to then sell. Instead, these products that
you drop ship already been created and customized and
has an audience ready to buy. That's the difference between drop shipping and
print on demand. So its pocket then why
would I include this? Well, I includes
pocket because Spark, it has a wide, huge, vast majority of products and they are definitely having products related to your niche. If you're definitely looking to sell products that are
fitting in terms of your businesses niche that
aren't based on blank designs, on blank products, you definitely should
check out pocket. The only downside though, is that keeps it at fourth place as the
fact that you have to pay to access and be able to sell most
of their inventory. That's the only downside. However, their app
is easy to use. It's very functional
and it's so easy to transfer the items onto
your Shopify store. But please note that because they are a drop
shipping supplier, spot it does have suppliers
that they work with that tend to ship within only
certain geographic zones. So you have to be aware that those suppliers who are
working with for the products that you select ship
to your customers location or else you're gonna run into a lot of headaches. So that's really another
downside of pocket. But nonetheless, they're
shipping speeds are quite fast and they offer
great customer support. As such, spark, it is
recommended by me. And last but
certainly not least, my fifth recommended print on-demand supplier
company is jet print. Now jet print may be fifth
place in my list here, but it has merits. So much like subliminally, upfront offers a variety
of niche products that you wouldn't expect to be
available for print on demand. And a lot of print-on-demand
suppliers don't offer the type of products
that Jeb print offers, such as being able to
print and design on shoes, shower curtains,
and so much more. However, because of this, their products do tend
to go out of stock. Sometimes you must
be aware of this. Additionally, although
their app is quite easy to use and navigate,
it's pretty slow. So you have to make
sure that your internet is working at top speed. If you're going
to use jet print. On top of this, if you
get stuck or lost. Don't expect the best
customer service, the most customer service
you're gonna get is help through pre-written
guides and FAQs. So just be aware of that. And in addition to this there shipping speeds tend to be quite slow since they are
based in China. Expect for your customer to be waiting at least a week and a half in order to receive their products
onto their doorstep. Though they do offer an
express delivery options should you choose to charge your customer more for shipping? And of course, get that product in a quicker
manner to your customer. Nonetheless, in spite
of all of this, I still do recommend jet print
since it offers a lot of products that you
wouldn't expect to find for print on demand. And of course, this
can make you stand out as a print
on-demand business in whatever niche by
offering products that wouldn't have been
thought available. Alright, so this is my list of my recommended print
on demand suppliers. And again, you can
find all five of these in the resources that are
attached to this video lecture. I definitely hope that
this helped and also helps you choose what
print-on-demand suppliers to install and use for your online print-on-demand
business with Shopify.
8. After You've Designed Your First Product: In this video lecture, we will talk about designing our first print on demand products for
our online business. And then what comes afterwards? After we have designed
our first product. In this video, I will
teach you or a rather show you how it is typically to use a Shopify print
on-demand app to design your products and then transfer them onto your Shopify store. For them, you'd be
able to sell them. Let's go ahead and start. Anytime you want to create a new product and want to
use a certain supplier, you can make sure that you go to the Apps tab in your Shopify store from
the left-hand panel. And then you scroll down
to select the app that you want to use for the
sake of demonstration. In this video lecture, I'm
going to use the print defy app in order to teach you how to do this and
show you how to do this. So let's go ahead and click
the title of the app. Print, defy, print on-demand. We're gonna be doing is we
are going to be designing a sample product for us
to add to our store. Okay, So now we are
in the print defy app within our Shopify platform. And as you can see here, we have a variety of buttons
here at the top. If you want to take a look at the products
that you already have, you would go to my
store and then this would list the products that are already available on your store. If you want to take a
look at your orders, aka your sales, you would
click the orders button, but that's where
we're gonna get to in the next video and just some other things
printed five premium is the paid version of
printf phi that gets you exclusive things such as faster shipping and lower costs, some products and so
much more help centers obviously where the guides are, the FAQs and so forth if
you have any questions, but let's go ahead and create a sample product
for the sake of, and as you can see
here, we have a variety of blank products to work with. For the sake of this
sample product, I'm going to create
a vertical poster. And as you can see here, we have a lot of detail from this supplier print or phi about these blank print
on demand products. We have the cost of
the blank product and how much it would cost if you have the
paid version of it. And by which supplier it is. Because again, we mentioned
that print F I is one print-on-demand
supplier that works with many suppliers. But that being said,
let's just go ahead and create our sample products. So I want to create a vertical posts or
to sell on my Storm. As you can see, we have one print provider for
this product, only one. So let's click start designing. Then we can add our design to this blank print on
demand products Canvas. Let's click Add your design. And by the way, when you're
adding your designs, you typically want
to make sure that you follow the
file requirements, that you have the
correct file type, that it's a certain size, m, that of course the pixels
are also a certain size, the dimensions of your design, and this is very important. The bigger image
your design has, the better because it will
be more crisp and clear. You definitely don't want
to work with small pictures because then when
you print them on the products, it
won't look good. Let's just click
add your design. I already have a bunch of
designs added from my library. This is where your previously
uploaded designs are. Because of course I'm working
with my online business. Then let's go ahead and click this first design
team, bony blue. There we go. One-click it, added the
design to my poster. I can play around with
the size of fired. Like you want to make sure
though that the borders of your design or within
the borders of the product, because that way it'll
be there entirely. I can also spin this
around if I want to or trash it if I don't
like it anymore. But again, as you can see here, the resolution is
medium, that's okay. But you want it to be the
highest resolution possible in order to ensure that
you'd have to do is make sure that you
make this smaller. So that way you get
a high resolution. You typically always want
to have a high resolution. If it says medium, it's okay, it's possible, but if it says bad, for example, if I make this really big low resolution, that's really bad. You don't want that because
then the product will come very pixelated and
blurry for the customer. Okay, So let's bring
this back to high. And let's say I'm
satisfied with this. I want to take a preview of how it would look
like on my store. This is a preview of the
product and what it would look like theoretically
if the customer buys it. And these images are also
good because printf Phi adds these images to your listing,
each product listing. So that way you didn't
even have to worry about creating your own fancy images. But one thing I will
mention is that of course, if you decide to order samples of your products
for your business, you can take your own photos
and then show off that the product is real and that this is what it would look like if you decide to buy it. You don't have to use
these pre-made images. You can definitely order a sample and take
your own images. But for the sake of this, we're just gonna leave it as
the sample image and then click Save product because we are satisfied
with this design. As you can see here. It added it to my products, but it is not yet
published to my store. In order for me to
publish it to my store, I would have to click
the Publish button. Also take note that I did not customize the name of
this product at all. I didn't give it a description. But should you
choose to do that? You can click Edit
listing and then of course you can add
this down here by scrolling down and then
changing the title of the product and then changing the description and of course, the tags that you want to
make sure are on-point because these will be used
in your Shopify store. Again, if you have any variance or you want to change the price, you can do this as well. And so much more. But we're going to now
publish this item, this product to then be
able to sell in our stores. So when we click
Publish, print f, I will transfer this
product that we designed in their app onto Shopify. As you can see here, the products is not yet visible and it is
currently in draft mode. So in order for us to actually
be able to publish it, we just must click
this green button here at the bottom
that says Publish. And we wait for 25
to do its magic. There we go. Just like that. The product has been
transferred from print defy onto our Shopify stores catalog. And if we want to see
this product in store, you would just click
C and store here. And then it would take
you to the product listing page on your
Shopify web store. It is as simple as that. It is as simple
as that to create a product and then publish it onto your Shopify store using
a print on demand supplier. Another way you
can take a look at your products and make sure
that it's actually there is. If you click the products tab here from the left-hand side, then you will see a list
of the products that are available on your Shopify store. Since we created one and we
call that premium matte. Let's go ahead and search
for that to make sure that it is their premium. And there we go, It's
right here, active. So again, you want to make
sure that this is active. It says it must say active
in order to actually be available on your store
for customers to them by. You also have other modes such as draft mode and so much more. But you want to make
sure that it's always active and on your
online store to actually be live on your store
for customers to then buy. Again, we have the type of
product here listed and who the vendor or
print-on-demand vendor is. In this case, identify. Just like that, you have
added your first product. We have added our first product, and this is how you
do so using print on demand apps on Shopify. I hope that this helped.
9. After You've Made Your First Sale: All right, welcome back. So now that we've
officially published our first print on demand
product on our Shopify store. Now is the time
to talk about you hypothetically are theoretically
getting your first sale. So getting your
first sale is always exciting and congratulatory step in terms of your print
on-demand business, because that means
that you are now starting to make profit. Getting your first
sale is always exciting and always
a memorable event. But then how do you know if
your sale is actually gone through and how do you
manage it to make sure that your customer actually is going
to receive their product. And when your product has been shipped and delivered
in so much more. Well, in order to check
that you must go to the orders tab here under home on the upper-left
on Shopify. Then afterwards you will then
see a list of your orders, or in this case, one order
if it's your first sale. But since I'm using
my online business, of course you can
see my other orders from customers in the past. This is a very great page
that Shopify has laid out for us because it tells us everything we need to
know about our order. Each order has their own
unique order number, number 10511050 and so forth. The date it was made, the name of the customer, the total cost of the order, and then the payment
status hasn't been paid or is the
payments processing. And then the fulfillment status. The fulfillment
status means that if the print on-demand
supplier that you worked with has actually printed and shipped out the
item to the customer. That is what that means. Then lastly, how many items were in this customer's order? As you can see here, we
can do a lot with this. We can order the list of
customer orders by name, by products, by how
much they spent, by how many items they
ordered, and so much more. But for the sake of simplicity, we're just talking
about our first sale. How does it work? How do we manage the first sale? Well, as you can see
here at the very bottom, I do have one or two sales that don't have to filled
tag associated to them. Well, what does this mean? This means that these
orders have not yet been shipped or even
delivered to the customer. Unfulfilled means that the print on-demand supplier
that you worked with, our vendor has not printed or
shipped the order out yet. Whereas in progress means that the print on-demand
supplier is in the process of
printing and shipping out your product
to the customer. Now, when you get orders, they will accrue here on a list, depending on the most recency or how recent rather
they bought your items. So it's always from
most recent at the top to least
recent at the bottom, as you can see here. I have an order here at the very top that was made on Sunday, just a few days ago. And so therefore it's
at the very top, whereas at the very bottom of
this list we have an order from all the way in
March, months ago. So that's how this
list is laid out. Now, as you can see, this most recent order has the paid and fulfilled
tag associated to it. Now, when we click
the actual order, we can then see that
of course we have a lot more information
associated to what the order and tails, such as what products
did the customer order, whereas the customer located
what is their address? Are there any notes that
are important to know? And yada, yada, yada. You can also of course, add your tracking number
manually if you have that. This is not something
you have to worry about because again, the print on-demand vendor usually takes care
of that for you. Of course, or you can
manually add it yourself. But again, you don't need to. Again, this is how it is when
you get your first order, you have a variety
of buttons here. You can refund or
return the items. You can edit the order or
you can do more actions, which is duplicated the order
and print packing slips. A lot of these buttons we
don't need to work with because our business
model is print on demand. So all of these shipping
settings and so forth are taken care
of by the supplier. But just be aware that
this is how it is once you have your first order, you want to make sure though,
that once a day you're checking in with your orders and seeing if the status
is updating or not. Because that way by
managing your orders, you can then avoid the
headache of realizing that your order isn't going through or that the payment
they didn't go through, or that your customer
is still not receiving their order, whatever. Have you. Checking this Orders page when you're having your sales
come in is very important for you to check at least once a day and manage because that way you'll have your orders
and check and you'll know that everything
is working smoothly. And as it should be,
this is how it is. Once you have your first sale, you will have to go to the
orders tab in Shopify. And then you'll take a
list to look at and then see where it is your customer
is in terms of their order, is their order not fulfilled yet or is it in progress or
has it been fulfilled, aka shipped to them? This is how it
works once you have your first sale with Shopify. And in case you were
wondering how did this list just
generate by itself? Well, every time
your customer checks out on your Shopify web store, it automatically
adds an order to this list by itself
so you don't have to manually input these
orders yourself. That is also automated for
you once your customer successfully completes checkout in case
you were wondering, alright, so I hope
that this helped.
10. More Recommendations and Things to Know: In this video lecture, we will talk about more
recommendations and things to know now that you know all the tools needed in
order to set up and launch your very own online business with Shopify using the
print on demand model. Additionally,
everything there'll be mentioning in this video, we'll be attached as a resource PDF file to
this video lecture. Should you want to keep what I said outside of
this video lecture? These recommendations
will help you and on top of this clarifies some
questions that you may have. So let's get started. So one of the first things that I want to
mention is that it's very important that
if you're going to start your online
print-on-demand business, that before you
even start selling your products online for
the world to see that you order samples of your printed products and
designs through your supplier. Every print on
demand supplier lets you order samples
for your products. And this is very
important because the quality control of your
products must be on-point in order for you to
get good trust and reputation for your business from customers that
purchase from you. By ordering samples
of your products, you will not only check if
the design is on-point, crisp, clear, and printed
in color as it should be. But on top of this that
the actual material of the product and the quality
is worth the price. Because remember,
if your products do not come as they are
supposed to as in how they've been advertised
on your site and they arrive in
a misleading manner as in maybe the color is off or the material is a lot
cheaper or whatever have you. You will not garner sales. And if you do garnering sale, you'll probably get a
negative review and a bad reputation
because you won't get a returning customer
due to them having a bad experience with your
products being misleading. It's very important
that you make sure to order samples for every product
that you decide to sell. This can get expensive, but a lot of print-on-demand
supplier's offer discounts for this purpose. Top of this, you don't have
to do them all at once. You just have to do this
for the ones that you think may not arrive as you think they would
probably recommend and more so for shirts, clothing. But for things like
magnets and stickers, you don't really have to
worry about that much. So just be aware
to order samples for your print on demand
products for your business. My second recommendation is to make sure that you stay
within your niche. Oftentimes a lot of
people think that if they sell a
variety of products, no matter what, that
they're going to get sales. But there's actually has the
inverse opposite effect. Because if you decide to list a bunch of products that
don't belong to one niche, your customer will
get confused as your business will
not have a focus, it will not have a
targeted customer, and it will not have a
niche that it belongs to. Your print on-demand business
can't be like Walmart. It can't sell everything because this is not how you
garner customers. Your customers have to know what you sell first beforehand. Then you build the trust
and the connection. And then possibly
could you venture out into selling other things? But this is important. Your print on-demand
online business with Shopify must stick
within your niche. So let's say if you're
targeting dog owners, make sure that you sell products related to what dog
owners would want, such as treats for dogs
or whatever have you. This is very important because not only by
sticking to your niche, will you set up a targeted
customer profile, but you will also get a lot of returning
customers because they know what to expect from your
business and we'll look for your business anytime
they're going to buy a product related to what
they're looking for. On top of this, this makes your business concentrated
and it saves you the headache of trying to
think of the next product to sell because it can be a themed products
within your niche. It can be another
dog themed product as the example that I used, make sure that you stay
within your niche. This is very important. On top of this, it's
important to stay within your niche because
search engines get confused when a variety of
tags and categories and keywords are used in coming from the same website that
conflict with each other. For example, if I have two categories that
conflict with each other, such as vegetarians
and meat eaters. Two different niches, and
then my business serves both. This will be very confusing
for both types of customers because they won't
know necessarily what to expect or who
is targeted more. This example is what
I mean by why it's important to stay
within your niche. My third recommendation
is that even though it's important to
stay within your niche, that you expand your catalog. What I mean by this is that
you sell more products. You sell this much
products as possible, but that stay within your niche. Let's say the example of dog owners don't only
sell one thing related to a dog owners might
want solo also plush toys and other things
such as dog medicine, dog shampoo or whatever
have you within the niche. Because the more products
and variety that you sell, the higher chances are that
you will garner a sale. This is very important. Now in case you're
confused or lost or don't know what your
customer might expect. It's important that you then do the following recommendation. Market research. If you're confused or stuck
as to what products to sell, let's say you already
have ten products up, but you want to have a goal
of 25, but you don't know. What the rest of the 15 will be. Well then do market research, search for the trending
products within your niche. Facebook has a great
website that allows you to research market trends as
the Shopify themselves. And you can even just Google the trending products of
20 whatever year it is. And that way you can relate
those trending products to your niche and bring
them to your store so that way you can
potentially garner more sales. On top of this, it's very
important that you expand your catalog for your products because the more
products that you sell, the likelier chance
you have been found on search results in search
engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing, then potentially getting a
customer from there. So it's very important
that you do sell as much products as
you possibly can, but that these products
remain within your niche. Those are my third,
fourth recommendations. Expand your product catalog and then also make
sure that you do market research for
any new products that you're thinking of selling. Or if you're just researching more products that you intend or plan or want to
sell on your store. Then my last recommendation
that I'll be mentioning in this video lecture is promotion. That you promote your
business as much as you can. And this is where
I will recommend you that you take a
marketing course. Learn about Facebook ads, about Google Ads, YouTube
ads and so forth. Because it's important
that you get a grasp on how to advertise
your business to customers, not only in your country, but also around the world. And the great thing about advertisements
online is that you don't have to go door-to-door knocking and introducing
yourself to customers. You can reach them through the social media platforms
such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and so forth, and then garners
sales through there. I've done this myself. I've created ads to reach
customers within my niche, so I target them
and then they buy from whatever social media
platform I made my add-on, whether it's Facebook or
Twitter or whatever have you. Now I do want to warn that advertising can get
very expensive. So you must know what
you're doing beforehand before even thinking of creating an, a paid
advertisement. Make sure that you
take a Facebook or YouTube marketing course for this purpose and then relate that to your print
on demand business. However, there are a variety of free methods to promote your business that
don't require payment. The first one being obviously
word of mouth, right? Promote your business on your social media pages to
your friends and family. Makes sure that they spread the word because
if they share it, then one of their
friends can share it and then it becomes a chain. On top of this. You can also of course join Facebook groups and
Reddit, subreddit. So that way you can
then post about your business or your
products that you sell. Make sure though,
that if you take this approach that you
follow the rules of each group because
you can get kicked out for spam or self-promotion. So just be aware of that. But Facebook groups and Reddit, subreddit are great ways to
promote your business free. I've done this and
use this myself. Make sure that you learn
about marketing and promotion when it comes to
your pronoun demand business. Actually, I'll mention one last recommendation
in this video. Make sure that you create an established
social media pages for your print on-demand
Shopify business. Having a personal
Facebook or Twitter account and promoting
on there is not enough. You need to make
sure that you have an Instagram account setup
to show off your products, a Twitter account to tweet about every new product
that you launch, a Facebook page to then
show off your products and also connect with
customers as well. The great thing about having social media pages that
not only can you gain exposure and new eyes by the users that use these
social media platforms. But that Facebook and
Instagram now have this thing called the Facebook
and Instagram marketplace, which allow you to
sell your products directly on Facebook
and Instagram. Your customer doesn't even
have to visit your website. They can buy a product directly from your social media page. This is an excellent way to gain more eyes on your business
and also connect with other business owners within your niche as you can
follow them and build connections and maybe even do a promotion for promotion type of collaboration in
which they buy one of your products and you
buy one of theirs, and then you show it off on your pages and your businesses. And that way your customer
bases can intertwine. Be aware of making
social media pages for your business and
updating them regularly, posting at least twice
a week and so forth, because this builds trust for your business and it makes
customers feel safe and secure is that you're actually a legit business because one of the biggest hurdles
for brand new print on demand Shopify businesses
is that they don't have brand recognition or
that they are too new. And so customers don't feel safe buying from them because
they either feel that they're gonna get scammed
or that they're gonna get a bad quality product by establishing social media
pages and building a following through those
social media pages, your customer can then verify that your
business is legit. Make sure that you do have
social media pages, facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and so forth for your online business. Alright, so these are some
personal recommendations that I have that every print on demand online business should know and have under their belt. And please make sure to
check out the resources for more recommendations
and things to know for Shopify businesses. I hope that this helps.
