1. Course Introduction: Hello everyone. My name is Andy and welcome to my kiddo cannot basics online course. In this course, you'll learn how to read Japanese using the hillock and an alphabet. If you're just starting to learn Japanese, then this course is a perfect place to start. Not only will we go over how to pronounce each sheet iconic character, but we'll also practice reading the characters with over 150 practice words. By the end of this course, you'll be able to read several basic Japanese for it's written in the diagonal. The Japanese writing system involves mixing and matching three different types of alphabets. He dug in to cut back on and Kanji. Most Japanese learners start by learning Quito gonna then Katakana. Kanji. Hiragana is a phonetic alphabet consisting of 46 characters. For each character represents one sound. You can think of heat as like the ABCs of the Japanese language. Cut the canal follows the same pronunciation pattern as Hiragana, but it's mostly used for words that originated from other languages. E.g. orange juice or candy is the most difficult and complicated of the three alphabets. Kanji is a series of over 2000 Chinese characters, where each character represents an object or idea rather than a sound. One thing that makes Kanji especially difficult is that most of these characters have multiple readings depending on the word, e.g. this character, which means water, is red meat in this sentence. But it's read three in words like 3/32. You'll often see Hiragana character is written either above or to the side of conduit to tell you how it's red. This is referred to as foodie gone up. As you start learning Japanese, you'll come across the fourth rating system called normalcy. Normalcy is a representation of Japanese using the Roman alphabet. Normally is mostly used by those learning Japanese as a foreign language. And when typing Japanese on a keyboard. You can rely on dormancy to read Japanese until you've mastered Hiragana, Katakana. This is a pseudo going to chart that displays all 46 characters in the Hiragana alphabet. When you read this chart, you would read the characters from top to bottom and right to left. The characters in the first column represents the five basic vowel sounds. The next column is for the same vowel pattern, but they add a consonant sound in front, e.g. the second column is red. Car Qi Qu. Care. Here's a read through of each character. E or car, Qi, Qu, K, C to G to the top. Now, Ni Nu He, who hear me? Yeah, you the do the door. While. All. Throughout the next several lessons, we'll learn how to pronounce each of these 46 characters and their variations. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video. 2. a i u e o | あいうえお: Welcome back. In this video, we'll go over the five basic vowel sounds in Japanese. When writing the diagonal characters, you'll notice that there's a specific order to follow when writing each stroke. In reality, not everyone always follows the correct stroke order when writing Japanese. But when you're first learning the characters, It's important that you use the correct stroke order. This is because using a consistent stroke order will help you memorize the character is faster and it will improve your handwriting. Also, stroke order follows the general pattern that applies to all of the Japanese characters. So if you get used to using the correct stroke order when you're learning to Diana, you'll have an easier time learning the stroke order for Katakana Kanji in the future. You may also notice that some characters look a bit different depending on the typeface or font. The way a character looks on a screen may be different from how you would write it by hand. This is why it's important to use a practice sheet when you write the characters for the first time. I, i, 0. Wet. Yet. Yet. Oh, oh, we learned the vowels or E. See if you can hear the difference between a short arm and a long arm, or bison or bar son. Whenever you see a double vowel, you'll pronounce it as a long vowel. E.g. or Carson. She signed foods and their son. Cody.
