1. Introduction: Hello everyone. Welcome to my Skillshare class and duty Agarwal. And in this class I will show you how you can create Mandela templates. Along with this, I will show you various designs that you can use in your Mandela's. This class is for beginners, and you can simply follow step-by-step to gain confidence in Mandela making this class as first part four cities of Mendota. So if we want to learn when data from basics and then proceed further, this class will provide the base for my future classes of the cities. I'm making a different section in my profile dedicated for Mondelez. It is named Mandela, so that it will be easier for you to keep track of your classes and lessons. And it will not take much of your time to find various classes and link them. So let's start. 2. All About class: Hello, I'm using a simple paper of white-collar and uni-ball micro pen of blue collar. See, there are two ways that you can make your Mandela templates. The first one is where you make straight panel lines on the sheet and then add various designs to it. And the second one is n, which you make concentric semi-circles. So far, the first one we have to make straight parallel lines like this. And, and this. We can also vary the distance between these lines depending upon the final design we want to fill in it. You can observe the gap differences between these lines, hill. You can also use the combination of radius distances between lines. It is totally up to you and the kind of design that you are filling in these lines. Don't worry, I'll teach you various designs for Mandela in this class. And I will also tell you how to fill the designs in these lines. For the second one, we have to make baseline and then make various concentric semi-circles, or would it here also you can vary the distance between the circles as per your choice. Remember, there is no difference in designs as if they are being made between straight parallel lines are between the concentric semi-circles. The difference is between their foreign missions. For example, joining the triangle between two straight pattern lines as different from drawing the triangle between two semi-circles. So to keep these gaps in mind, we are going to work with concentric circles in this class and not with a straight parallel line. I will discuss the material that I'm going to use in this class for template making in the next video. 3. Material Required : Today's class I'm going to use a pain right sheet or a pencil and a compass by Micro pen. 4. Grid Making: For making the grid, I'm first going to place this ruler right here at the bottom of this sheet. I'm going to draw this line. This will be a little darker lines so you can use any other pen also if you want to make this line with the bool, but I'm using the same pen and just doubling the line to make sure that it's a darker one. Now, without removing this ruler, I'm going to use the pointers in this ruler from making the grid. Here, I'm using the compass and the pencil to draw semi-circles from this. At this point, I'm going to find the center point that is here right here, plays the nib of the campus away. And you can use the measurements that are given on the ruler to decide at what space you want to make this semicircle. This is the force semicircle. That is why I'm making this one very smaller one. And gradually we will increase the radius at a very particular pace because I really don't want to make all the semi-circles at equal distance. So I'm going to increase or decrease the distance between them as per the choice. You can do that too. You can choose the length that you want to give to the radius because this is just a template making. So in this we are going to learn how many circles we can draw on one paper and how many designs we can add in one circle. If the circle is bigger than what kind of a design we can fill in it. So all these things we are going to learn in this class, so you can vary the radius of this circle as per your choice. Okay? Now we're done with the grid making. You can add more semi-circles if you want. But I'm not making any more. Now you can have a close-up look to this grid and observe the radius differences between that ideas that I have tried to use it. So I hope you also have prepared your grade. Let's move on to add design to these. 5. Starting with Mandala : First Ring: Now after the grid, I'm going to use this black pen to make the outlines of these things. Now, I'm denoting each space between both two circles as a ring so that it'll be easier for you and me to discuss about the exact place. Now, there are two ways to outline these. First one, you outline all the circles one by one, and then start making the design in these. But I'm using the second way that is making the design in-between two circles. That is the first ring, as I'm doing here. So you can make a design in the fourth string first and then outline the both sides of these ring, which means the first and the second circle. Turn. The design that I'm making is simply the triangles. You can notice, as I exampled earlier, making a triangle between two circular lines and two straight lines is very much different. So you can notice that a friends over hill. Now I'm outlining though in our most circle, which means I've used this trick that I am making the design in the Rings first and then outlining the circle. You can choose another way also, both are correct. Here, I'm highlighting the circle again because I want this to be a little bolt. I will do the same for the triangles later on. But here I'm outlining the so-called first. Now outline the outer circle of this ring that is seconds of this Mandela bad. It's the first ring only that we had working on. Outlining the outer circle. Again, because I want this to be bold, you can skip this step as per your desires because copying the design is not the purpose of this class. This class is to make you understand that the friends between the Mandela templates that are built between two straight lines and those templates that are built between the Mandela kind of a design or a structure. So here you can notice the difference between those. Also. Here I'm showing you some very common and very basic designs that even a beginner can start with. So you can practice more and more designs and recreate this Mandela, Audrey create any other Mandela. Or you can create your own designs to, that is totally up to you. Now I'm making so many lines. To make it complete design. You can choose any other design to fill between these triangles. The modifications are always welcome and you can modify the design as per your thoughts and as per your ideas. Or if you have seen any other Mandela, then you can inculcate those designs are where two, this is totally up to you and your thoughts and your ideas. Hand doing this to make it in very, very simple for each and every person out there to start with the mandalas. Now, a small semicircle, kind of a design like this. You can notice that it's a small dot. Data have been made, but it's half. The triangle was half. Here. The triangle is full, so this called a full and filled with the black color itself. And the next one also, I'm going to make it full. And then also, but in the last one, I'll make that dot half the cars that triangle use also have. The design for our first string is complete. We'll move on to the second ring designed in the next video. 6. Second Ring : Small Circular Petals: Let us now move on to the second ring for this, I'm going to start with making the design in this, and then I'll move on to highlight the circle that is the outlining of this. I mean, so far this, firstly, I'm making smart better design over whom these small pattern designs are named. So because these looks like the small circular petals of a flower, you can notice that I'm not using any particular measurement to make all the petals, but you can do so because men die law is all about uniformity. But this class is for beginners. So I'm not doing so I'm just explaining you how these designs to be filled in these lines and how to start with basic geometrical patterns into it. You can notice that not each petal is of same measurement, but these look very much uniform. This is the beauty of Mandela. If you want to make each petal of same measurement and of same size and pattern, then you can also make good of the fin type, that is measurements to be done in the horizontal way, which means you want to draw various radius is from the center of this mantle. You can do this with the help of any particular R D We can save. You can use these instruments to make those measurements. Now you can notice that both the ends have the half-ass battles and not the complete petals. This symbolizes that the other half of this petal is on the other side of the Mandela. As we are drawing the half Mandela, then it means we are working on half of it. So the corner ones includes only half of the petal. Now, I'm outlining the circle, which means the second ring via outlining the outer part of the second ring. I'm outlining each sulcus is very boil, but it's totally up to you and your design, whether you want these boundaries in your designs or not. I'm making the design inside these petals. Here. That is ion is basic pattern that is making a small dot and then a straight lines associated with it touching the inner side of this second ring. And you can change the design, that is everyone to add only the dots and removing the lines. You can do that. And if we want to draw the lines and not the dots, you can do that. If we want to draw any other design, then you can do that curved line, parallel lines, anything. The modifications are welcomed. Now I'm going to fill this leftover space. And this space is between the petals and outside. So the second ring, filling this empty space is totally optional, but I recommend this because this makes looked the design really beautiful and turns out to be really beautiful, ungraceful. We can observe this space where I'm filling this very carefully. And while doing this, you have to be very, very careful so that you don't disturb the other pattern that we have already drawn. The color do not disturb the petals that we have made for a design. Result into a really graceful InDesign. If you make no mistakes, but if you make mistakes, then this will turn out to be not so attractive designs. So just try to be a little focused over here. So we are done with the second ring. We'll move on to the third ring in the next video. 7. Third Ring : Adding Modern Design: Let us now move on to our third ring. Firstly, I'm outlining the outer circle of Atherton. If you want, you can outline the circle first, or if you want, you can make the design first. But here I'm making a new kind of InDesign for which I made bold boundaries. That is why I am outlining this really bold. After outlining now observer really carefully. I'm making half over 10 because my main design area is over. And in that I have made half circle status, a semicircle. After leaving some space, I'm making another oval with a small circle inside it. And then I will need the same design and complete hearing. Trim. Want you can measure the distance between them using the protector or the compass to name them at exact distance. But hey, I'm not using that. I'm working with some approximations overview. And if you want, you can modify this design also, because modifications are always welcomed in my classes. So you can modify the design if you want, and you can recreate the same design if you want. Now, After this as a string and I've made these lines to compete the design and maintain the space between balance between the whitespace and effort space. And in the second angle also we did the same refold the space. So in the third one, I'm going to fill this space with these simple dots. So I'm going to make these dots everywhere outside the always in this third ring. Dots I'm making are really very light and 10, but if you want, you can change it intensity and you can make them small, so close, you can make them bold dots also. So that's totally up to you. For now. Our third design for the third ring is complete to move on to the next string in the next video. 8. Fourth Ring : Big Round Petals n Leaves: Now let us tack the default string n. This I'm going to make a design that is very much similar for the petals of a bird flat. That is why this is named as big around petals. So yes, this is the name because of the resembles to rip petals are for big flower. I'm going to make these petals in this completion first and then we'll move on to the next design. In this particular ring. You can map the starting and the ending point of each leaf on the top part of this petal on the outer circle. To make these very much exec, my damn sure you can do so if you want to observe that there's also some space left that that was left so we can fill it the same way. But as it's a template, we'll start with making another design, but not the same design. Firstly, I'm outlining the outer circle for this faltering so that we can move on. So according to the look of this design. But I'm suggesting here to make different designing each string that is completely different from the one that is being made in the previous ring. To ensure that you'll get to maximum variety of designs in your template the moment you complete test. And now I'm going to make a small leaf over here, unlike this inside the petal to complete the design. And you can make any other shape if you want. If you want, you can just double the title that we have made. If you want, you can make a circle, a square, or any other kind of a shape of a leaf. But I'm making this very simple leaf into this petal to make it look beautiful, kind of a design. So these are all designs are made by me. But if you want to go and recreate them, and if you want, you can create your own designs. These are not very much rocket science kind of a design, so you can do them on your own too. You can notice that I have made only half leaf inside this petal as the tidyverse half already in this, the first one out. So we'll have to make GWAS, this one is more than half of the petal, so that is why I've made the other line also over there. So this is another half of the leaf. Now, by designing the leaves and adding these lines to complete the design because I want to really balance the empty space. And that is why I am doing so. You can make any other design if you want. Now I'm here dividing the leaf into half and then going to make lines that as we did in the first one. I'm going to make these lines on the right side of the leaf. We are going to do the same in all the leaves present here. You can make any other design, you can make, you can feel them both of the sides. You can ignore filling these. That's totally up to you. I have left the left side of the leaf without any design, so that is what I have done. Now to make more designs into it. I'm adding these small circles here and daring this, but only inside the petals. I'm not feeling any space outside the petals or inside the leaf. This is only that space that is in the petal and outside the leaf triangles. That's totally up to you. Space between the carrying so much. I'm willing to make a really simple, so heavy just to complete the design elements into it. So now it is also complete. In the next video. 9. Fifth Ring : Pattern using Lines: Just now move on to fifth string. Firstly, I'm outlining the outer circle for the fifth ring. If you want, you can go with the design first and after that, outline the circle, but I'm outlining the circle first. And then I will move on to add design to the ring. After outlining the outer circle, I'm going to add design to this. Now. I'm making so many lines like this in this ring. I'm not using any scale or any ruler to make these lines. These are freehand lines, but if you want, you can use a ruler to maintain the distance between these lines. I'm doing it freehand, but it's totally up to you. Now. I'm making the same kind of lines in opposite direction. You can notice here, I have made the first kind of lines in one direction then another lines in another direction. So I'm going to repeat this complete pattern in some patches in this whole ring. If you want, you can mark the starting and the ending 0.4 lines at each angle. But her, I'm not doing so. I'm working with approximations. So you can do the same because it's not about exact design. It's about how these designs turn out when these are being drawn between the two curved lines and not the two parallel lines. You can notice that this design turns out to be really different than does iron is being made between the two parallel straight lines. So this isn't a friends I was talking about. So you can observe very carefully and you can draw it on your own to know this difference and to analyze this difference more accurately. So when this festering is also complete, we'll move on to the sixth string in the next video. 10. Sixth Ring : Curvy Design: Let us now start with us extra for this, I'm making a design first, but it's totally up to you. If you want, you can outline the outer circle first and then go with the design. Here the design made is this curvy line and then this spiral inside this curvy line, which makes it look really beautiful. So this is an enzyme that I'm going to make in this complete ring. You can make any other design or you can modify this by making a spiral on both the side of this line, of this code line. Okay? So this is totally up to you. I'm making this design completely in this whole ring. Then applying the outer circle of this ring, and then I'll ring will be completed. With this code line design. In this room, I will now outline the outer circle. To complete this ring. I'm outlining each and every circle. Very bold, but it's totally up to you whether you want your Mandela to highlight these circles this much or not. Because if you don't want to show any depth into your Mandela, then you don't need any bold lines or boundaries between your designs. But I want to classify between the designs that, that is why I am doing so. So we are now done with this ring. We'll move on to the next string and the next video. 11. Seventh Ring : Small Squares: So let us now move on to the next string. For this, I'm outlining the outers are called of this ring first. And then I'll move on to further design in this ring. You can fill the design first and then outline the ring. That's totally up to you though. I'm making the bold outline, which will denote the boundary of my design. But if you want, you can make any other design and make this boundary lighter. That's totally according to your design and according to your Mandela template. After outlining, I'm now starting with filling the design into it hurt. I'm making a really simple design that is making small, small squares in this complete ring without leaving much of the spaces between them. You can notice here exactly. You can make the same design. You can recreate this design in your Mandela templates. Or if you want, you can make any other shapes such as triangles. So because bandwagon, hexagons, designs are totally up to you. It's just an illustration that I'm using a simple, basic geometric shape, a miniature of that shape, and filling this complete ring with the same shape. And this will turn out into a beautiful design. Are this ring is complete. We'll move on to the next string in the next video. 12. Eighth Ring : Combination of Designs: Let us now move on to our eighth ring. In this, I'm going to make a combination of various designs that you can use one by one in another rings, such as if I'm making five designs in this one ring, you can use these five designs in five different rings. So this is another speciality about creating templates that you are creating one design and then using that design in ten different ways. So that is what makes the templates beautiful and very much useful. Firstly, I'm outlining this outer circle off this ring. But you can do opposite as I said, you can make the design first and then do the outline. Alpha design. I'm going to make this big pointed pen. Here. The leaf is not called X pointed, as you can observe, I'm going to make these big vectors pointed petals in this complete ring first, and then we'll move on to the next design. I'm just making a double petal here. You can notice here that what the Beta-lactam main, I'm just creating another layer of it and not doing anything else. See, you could have been made these petals boldly, but here I want these to stand out. That is why I'm making another layer to it. This will add dimension to this design. And you can do the same if you want. Here at the joining point of two petals, I'm making this lobe kind of a structure. Or you can notice that this is not pointed one, this is a curved loop. So you can make this design independently also, but here I'm using it to decorate the joint of two petals over hill. After loops. I'm making these semicircle between the petals like this. I'm going to make this semicircle, all the petals or these semi-circles. I'm going to make these so many semi-circles. In the shape of a flower, you can notice that these are not made at an angle, particular angle or any particular distance. These are made with some approximations. And you can make these in some different shapes also, maybe some pointed petals. But here I'm making smallest, smallest semi-circles around this semicircle to make it look like unrounded petal. Spread this, to equate these loops, I'm going to make these small, small lines like this around these loops to make it look like it's glowing. Lobes from, I'm going to make this small design inside this, that is a simple dot of the loop. Now I'm making a small semicircle it between these already made semi-circles to make it look more heavier design. Now to fill the space left between these petals and these semi-circles, I'm going to make these small triangles around these flower kind of structure. You can use any other shape here to decorate this or fill this space that's totally up to you, but I'm using small triangles over here. Our to add heavy design. I'm going to make these small, small lines between the two designs that we have already made. You can make a closer look over here and take time to understand the design. And I'm just making these lines to make it look like a little bolder design rather than a lighter design. You can totally skip this part if you want your design to look light and not heavy. Now we are done with this design. We'll move on to the other design in the next video. 13. Ring Zero Spiral Design : Let us now move to ring 0. I'm naming this area as Ring 0 because I really want to denote this as some ring because this is the main area that attracts anyone Tana, you just can't leave this space blank because this is the center of the Mandela and attracts the most of the attention of the viewer for designing and making a really simple design. That is this pattern. I'm just filling this complete area with making these spirals. And then I'm adding small, small dots all over the space to make it look more attractive and complete. I'm just filling the rest of this space other than this parallel using the dots, you can make small circles or so and then fill them with the same black color if you want. And you can also vary the intensity of these dots as per your design. My hair, I'm not varying the intensity of these dots very much. These are similar kind of dots and just completing the design. Now we are done with this much for the finishing part, I'm going to make these bold circles over the two sides of the loop that we have made a year in the outermost ring. These are just made small cell occurs and then being filled by the same black color. If you want, you can leave them unfilled and give that kind of look to your Mandela. But here I'm making these to make this Mandela look more heavy, kind of a design now Mandela, so you can do that and if you want it in, skip this part. But here these dots in the end looks very beautiful to mean. That is why I'm adding these circles or dots environment alla at the end. So now the final look is here. Our Mandela template is complete. You can name it as Mandela and bread, or Mandela also. 14. Project Work: So guys, as we have already learned about Mandela's and it's templates. Here is your project work.
