you how to do that. And without further ado, let's go ahead and jump in.
2. How to Open Your Free ChatGPT Account: Alright, so the first thing we're going to want to do here is open up your free
chat GPT account. So what we'll do is we'll
just go to the search bar and search bar here and
go to chat that open.com. And then you should see
this screen populate. And then from here you can
just go ahead and sign up using your email. And you can go ahead and
set up a password as well. You'll see it's super
quick and easy to do. They may send you an e-mail
confirmation just to confirm your email for signing up and
then you'll be ready to go.
3. What is ChatGPT?: Alright, so maybe you've
heard a lot about chat GBT in the news
recently or on the web. So what is it exactly? So it's a really
sophisticated AI chat bot. And just to show you how
cool this application is, I thought I would give
you a test to let chat GPT tell you what
it is, it's own words. So what is beauty? There we go. A large language
model developed by OpenAI and based on the
GPT-3 0.5 architecture, which means I'm a type of
artificial intelligence, is to understand natural
language and generate responses to questions
and prompts. I've been trained
on a vast corpus of text data which includes everything from
books and articles, a social media person,
online conversations. So you can already
be in to see how cool this is that it's describing what it does
and the value here. And then, let's go ahead and test another
question here and say, what are some of the best? Let's just go riding. Use cases for Chad should be D. And then you can take
a look at this here. On top of resume writing, we have content generation,
creative writing, academic writing, translation from one text
format or language to another. Email writing, as
we, as we said, your resume and CV
writing of course, and then proofreading
and editing. So you can see there's a wide
variety of use cases and applications for this very sophisticated AI chat software.
4. Use ChatGPT to Write ATS Friendly Resumes and Cover Letter: Another massive value-add
the chat GPT brings to the table when it comes to helping you write your
resume and cover letter, is it can actually
optimize those things for ATS systems or applicant
tracking systems or software. These are systems
that companies use to automate the process of searching for the right
candidates for jobs. So they use these pieces of software to look for
specific keywords, mostly in resumes and cover letters when they're looking
at an applicant pool. And depending on the keywords and the density and maybe even some of the performance
metrics that candidates include in their
resume and cover letter. Companies can automate
that process. Instead of having a
human manually go through a huge stack
of digital resumes, they can automate that
with ATS systems. So one thing I wanted
to show you here is I just wanted to ask Chad GPT, can you help me optimize my resume and cover
letter for ATS software? So you can see it answer yes, I can definitely
help you optimize your resume and cover
letter for ATS software, optimize your resume
and cover letter. So then it goes straight
into these points. And so these data points
and these bullets here, we can use as information to
go into writing and queuing and coaching chat GBT to write a perfectly ATS friendly
resume and cover letter.
5. How to use ChatGPT to write your Resume Template: Alright, so once you've gotten your account setup
and you've logged in, you should see a screen
that looks like this. I know that I have a lot of different chats and
templates that I'm using here over on the
side because I've been using this tool for awhile now, but you'll find
this screen here. And what's great is chat GPT already sets you up for
success and using this, they give you some
different examples for use cases here that you can punch
in and get outputs for. It has different
capabilities and it also has limitations right here. So this is the screen
that you're going to see. And just for an example
of just how powerful this tool is and so we
can kick this off strong. I thought I would
do a quick test. This isn't gonna be
my exact resume. I'm not even going to give
it a full resume of mine. I'm just going to type in a
really quick sample template so I can show you how quickly chat GPT you
can go to work for you. So just to make up a
work history here, let's say create a resume
template for a person. I will just go for
myself who has 12 plus year career
in digital marketing, including SEO, social media, marketing, content
writing, copy writing. And actually let's just leave it there and see
what the output is. You can see how quickly this
is already going to work to create just a
resume template here, which is really incredible
because as we all know the hardest part and getting
started with a resume, especially if it's
been awhile since you've opened it
up or update it. It's just not knowing
where to start. Like, what are the
most common ways that people are
filling it out now? Or they're popular templates, or there's things that you
shouldn't be doing right now. So chat GBT is
pulling on thousands, potentially millions
of different resources online to put this
together for it and liquid it was able to come up with an a couple of seconds. So we've got all of your personal information at the top, but you can fill in. We've got a career summary
that this personalized to me. And once again, I didn't
give it any details. I didn't say I was at this company from this
date to this date. I was the second company
from this date to this date, here were some of my roles. Here were some of my experiences,
the skills that I use, accomplishments that
I had my position, then liquid it was
able to put together. So you can have an idea of even the kind of
action items and bullets that you're
going to fill out just from this simple
resume template idea. Now of course, let's, let's take this example
and extend on it. Let's say use this
same template, but, but include job experience. For me. Using this work history. Let's go 2012 to 2016. I was a social media marketer working for let's just make
up something a, B, C Corp. And from 2016 to, let's just bring it up to 2023. I am SEO Manager and content marketing
specialist for XYZ corporation. And let's see what it
comes up with here. You can just see how
incredible this is and go into work like it just filled out the
corporation I gave it and putting the more current
work experience on top, the one further back. On the bottom we
have the name of the made-up corporation here, the job title, and then
the dates at the company. Then we have a list
of skills here, a lot of which are really common that you'll
see in marketing. So you could list those
out for yourself, certifications, and then you can include references there
at the bottom too. So you can see that without that much work here in
a couple of minutes, we already made a really strong
start that if you hadn't existing resume and
you just wanted to punch that information
into this. You could do it.
And you can even have chat GBT do that for you. You could actually
copy and paste your resume into
this message box right here and say, hey, Chad GPT, use this
above template and input this career
data that you copy, paste it and it will go
ahead and do that for you. So this is probably plenty enough to get
you off and running. Go ahead and test it
out for yourself. Pull up the most recent
copy of your resume. And like I said before, you just need a basic job
title, career history. You don't even need details. If you don't have an updated
version, your resume. Treat this like a conversation
with the chat bot. Say, Hey, my name is this. I've had a long career
in fill-in-the-blank. And these are the dates that
I spent at these companies. You can give it examples
of tasks you did, projects that you had, big wins that you had in
your roles at each company. And it'll go ahead and start to populate these things for you. So go ahead and give that a
try and see what you think.
6. How to Input Your Work History into ChatGPT to Write Your Resume: Alright, so now you have
your resume template. You can go ahead
and create a couple of different versions
if you want. You can ask chat GBT, Hey, can you create a
different version except this time and
feed it changes or just, just tell it in general to
create a different version of your resume if there's
something you'd like to change that
to keep in mind. It is pulling from thousands or millions
of sources on the web to bring you the best
outline for your resume. You can even punch that in
as an input to of like, Hey, use today's industry
best resume template for creating my resume. Just to give you some more ideas of how you can use this thing, I've gone ahead and created a slightly more
fleshed-out version of a fake resume that
I'll be using here. So I still have a couple
of different companies. I added a third just
to see how it would deal with the outputs
and added another job. Have four years basically
at this Fake Corporation, ABC Corp, a few years at XYZ and then
another here and there. So I'm just going to
go ahead and say use this template to create a resume around this
fake job experience and you'll see it go
to work here again. Once again, updated. My title, updated the years since I
added a whole new career for this had three different jobs
instead of just the two. Pretty much the same skills
section for certifications. Okay, great. So this is what
gets really awesome here, is you can ask it to do different things from
this point in time. So say that, okay, I really liked this resume. I liked the bullet points
that they put in here. The development execution
of SEO and content marketing strategies
increase website traffic and drive conversions. Awesome, develop and execute comprehensive content
marketing strategies that Dr. lead generation
and brand awareness. So these are some really
awesome bullets like if I would ask you as you go
through this entire thing, think about what your employer
or potential employer, the job you're applying for. What are they going to want
to see in your resume? That's going to showcase you as the best candidate possible. And one huge piece of advice that I can't say
it enough is that employers want to see not only like you're taking
action in your role, they also want to see
statistics and figures. So if you have any like big wins that you
can add from your career of increased revenue growth for an account or
traffic to a website. Or you were the first to
get a huge project done. Or you are recognized by some of the C-suite executives
at your company, or the president or your boss, or you had any
awards or accolade, you want to include
that in here. So just as a general way of approaching this as since we're using a fake career
history here, let's say this is great. Use this same resume, but include job and career. Let's do this, but include specific bullet points for data, good job and career wins. And then we can just say e.g. grew account traffic by 30%, grew company revenue by 10%
in the first 12 months, etc. So we just gave it
some examples here. So it has something to riff off of and let's go
ahead and try this. So look, it's even adding these highlight points to your resume of what
you're able to do. And this is just really
incredible to watch this work. So as you're going through and you're
modifying your resume, or you could actually feed
these specific data points, like if you have a
Google doc list of wins that you have in specific jobs, you
can just tell it, Hey, use this data from this
career position and add this as a bullet to whatever
point on your resume here. And so this gives us an
even better template of, and now it, it kinda, I don't want to say
went overboard. But it put basically metrics and data in each
one of these bullets. Now, you could even ask
it to merge the two because I love some
of the ideas up here. You don't necessarily
have to be data-driven. Once again, this
is gonna be a mix of showing accompany that you're able to
achieve success in your role through
data and metrics. But also you're going to want the right keywords
in your resume. So now you have a little
bit better idea of how to add your own career and
job history into this. And how to, I guess, punch up your resume a
little more to include these important data points that companies are going to
want to see from you.
7. Have ChatGPT Optimize Your Resume for ATS Scanners: So an important point
I brought up earlier as you want to make sure that your resume is optimized for these applicant tracking
systems or ATS. And you might be
asking yourself, Well, what's the best way
that I can do that? One of the easiest
first steps you can take and optimizing
your resume for these applicant tracking
systems is just including the job title
that you're going for. So say, based on this resume, past experience, the most recent job we've had
is headed content and SEO. Let's say we file this
down a little bit more. Let's say that this is my
actual job experience, e.g. and I want to apply
for, let's just say it, head of content position
in the company. So I would tell chat GBT to take all this existing
information and this is what's so great is it
can reference everything in this conversation to
create the next output. You don't have to give it a background again
and re punch in all these various inputs a second time or third
time or fourth time. It can just reference
everything in the conversation. Kinda like you're having a conversation with a
friend and that's kinda what I recommend that
you do when using chat GBT. So I'll even be really
specific here and say, use this resume to create an ATS friendly resume for jobs I'm applying for, titled stri this head,
head of content. Let's give this a shot. Awesome. So changed the
summary experience, had a contact with
over 12 years. It's keeping the percentages
and the data and the winds, those examples from
the previous draft. And we're still hitting
all of those content. That's gonna be
one big thing that the ATS is going to be looking for is evidenced of
content experience, writing experience,
obviously digital marketing. And it's going to be considering all of that when making this. So these are a couple of different valuable things that
you can use with chat GBT. Tell it to create a resume
that's ATS friendly. And one of the other best things that you can do is tell it the job titles that you
want to optimize for. Because the more specific
information you give it, the more specific it's going to create these outputs
that are gonna be suitable for your application
needs and your job needs.
8. How to Use ChatGPT to Write Your Resume and Optimize it For Specific Companies: Another thing that's really impressive to include in
your resume when sending it out and application packets
to companies besides including things like
the specific job title that you're applying for, like we discussed
in previous videos with the career summary here, you can even include a
career goal until chat GBT to include a career summary and covering all your
past experience. You can have it
include a career goal and tell it what
kind of positions you're seeking and you can
even get as specific as what company you're looking for
jobs or applying for jobs at. Let's go, Let's use this
previous resume example. Say use this resume
but include, Let's go. But also a section for career goals for seeking a job as head of content
and accompany. Let's see what it comes up with. And what's really great
about this is I didn't pre-test any of these
inputs are scripts. You can tell that
I'm just doing this live on the spot here
with you all because I wanted to authentically
show you the power of this tool check GPT
is just incredible. And so it's taken all this previous data we've punched in, auto populating every single
thing in that resume. And then now it's added
this nice critical section seeking to challenging
and dynamic roles had a continent
accompanying the values, creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking
looking to leverage my extensive experience
in SEO content marketing. So this is great. This is great. A few short sentences
on career goals. One thing that gets even
more amazing here is if you have a specific company or organization that you want
to apply to for jobs, your ideal job or title, or maybe you're
qualified to apply for a couple of
different positions. This also comes in real
handy tool where you can say create this. Let's go create a
version of this. Resume, applying, add
a specific company, and then let's just use like we can just make
up any example here. Let's just say, let's just
say ABC immediate group. I don't even know
if that's a part of the actual broadcasting group, but we'll just use an example to see what
it comes up with. Silicon. It just auto
populated right there. So you can include
like any company that you're creating
a resume for. This is what's so valuable. And some of that I'll recommend to do is somebody
who spent a lot of time optimizing
resumes for myself, friends, editing those resumes, writing cover letters and
helping people out with those and proofreading those is that you'll want
multiple versions of your resume because at
this point in your career, you might be qualified
for very specific jobs. You might be qualified for four or five or a dozen
different positions based on your career experience. So it's good to have
different drafts of your resume for
your job history. Because if you're
applying for, say, take, take this specific
example that we're using, this made-up resume
that I'm using. This person here
has experienced in social media marketing
content marketing content writing,
copywriting, SEO. Well, if you're going for a content marketing or head of content position
that accompany, I'm going to want a resume
that heavily reflects for ATS systems and
emphasizes all of the content marketing writing
experience that I have. Now say that I'm
applying for an SEO job, whether it's at the same company or a different organization. I want to create a
different version on my resume that really emphasizes the SEO
experience that I have. If this went into paid marketing or
advertising I want include PPC or social media ads
or whatever it might be. So it's really valuable to
create different versions of your resumes for not only
different job titles that you can do this for
different companies too. I just recommend saving them in Google Docs or
saving them here and your IGBT history so
that you have them. But this is just a
great example of, like I said, how you can give it just more data to
refine your outputs. It's so valuable to have
a career goal in here. And if you can get as specific as not only the job that
you're applying for, but the company that
you're applying for and why you're
applying to that company. Like businesses love seeing
that in resume packets. So go ahead and input
your resume back into here or keep riffing and the same conversation that
you're having with Chad GPT, then see what you
can come up with.
9. Ask ChatGPT for Helpful Notes for Resumes, ATS, and More: Another item I thought might be really helpful to
show you is how you can actually ask
chat GPT questions on how to improve and
optimize your resume. So once again, this is
gonna be a live test here, but we're going to keep
it in the same thread, the same chat you can see we're here in resume
template creation, which is what we've been
using since the beginning. So you'll stay in your same conversation
just asked chat to GBT. What do I need to do
with my resume to optimize it for it. So this is where chat GPT is just an unbelievable tool for helping you learn while
you're doing this process. So what's really amazing here is that you
don't even have to go to the search engine
that you use or Google to like look up
information on this, you can purely just ask it a question and it
is pulling from, like I said, millions of
different data points online to give you
examples here. So it's a great lesson to
include in this course. Using a simple and
clean format is great. This can be confusing ATS
systems if you include images, graphics, special characters,
things like that, use standard section headings. So the formatting of that
makes your job title standout. How many years you were there? Things like that, including
relevant keywords. So like I emphasized before, this is a big one using
relevant keywords from your job descriptions
throughout your resume. That'll help you
get picked up by these ATS systems and hopefully move you to the
next round of the interview. Bullet points are huge here. Writing bullet points
is just a great way to highlight all your
successes, wins, roles that you had,
projects you completed, what your day to day,
your week-to-week look like your responsibilities
at your company. So once again, here
we're going to avoid complicated things
like using tables, columns are textboxes
that makes it really tough for
these ATS to scan. And then another thing too, is just making
sure that you keep your resume as a
plain text file or a PDF file just because the ATS systems can have trouble reading other formats
and things like that. So this will really
help you get picked up by these applicant
tracking systems. You can also ask
another questions like, what's the, we'll go ahead and give you a
preview here and say, what's the best way to optimize my cover
letter for ATS systems. So another thing to keep
in mind about ats is it doesn't just scan
your resume for keywords and all of
these valuable data bits that companies want to
see in your resume. They also do this for
your cover letter too. So I'll probably give us
some similar feedback. But you can use this information to create your ideal
cover letter or multiple versions of your
cover letter which I recommend and which we'll get
into here in a little bit. So just keep that in
mind as you do this, I would go ahead and
run your own prompts. You can even ask chat
GBT things like, what's the best order for
the sections of my resume. And it can give
you an idea here. So contact information, professional,
professional summary. So that's what it put together for us and the template we've been using and creating
throughout this course. Work experience, education,
skills certifications, awards, interests and hobbies. This is perfect and even
leaves a note here. Remember to tailor your resume to the job you're applying for, including relevant keywords
and highlighted and achievements that are most
relevant to the position. So this is what's really amazing is you're not
only learning how to use chat GPT to write your resume for you and
cover letter in this course, you can actually use chat GBT as a learning tool to help you get better at
resume writing to and then use this information
with chat GBT to create the best iterations
and versions of your resume to go ahead and
test some of these prompts. Use it as a tool for learning while you're
doing this process, ask questions if
you're curious about anything as it goes and let
me know what you think.
10. Building and Designing Your Resume: Another thing that
we can ask chat GBT had to do is we can ask it for recommendations
on the best software that we can use for our resume. Since we've been going through the same chat the entire time, it has all the information about what we're looking
for, a job experience. We have questions about ats. It's pooling all
of this knowledge to make recommendations for us. So why don't we just ask
Jackie GPT really quick of what's the best software to use for building and designing
my resume for ATS systems. We've already gotten
a pretty good idea from the questions we've asked it earlier that we're going to want a
software that simple, that's clean, that
we're not using any complex designs or
anything that's going to make it difficult to read
our resume for the ATS. It's a great Microsoft
Word, google Docs. They have really simple
templates for this. Canva, if you want to do a little more graphic
design, Adobe InDesign. So I would just take this and run with it and
use one of these. Most people are familiar
with Word and Google Docs. They also have a lot of
great templates that are, it's probably built
in an easy to read for a lot of
these ATS scanner is companies are going
to prefer reading in those formats as well because they probably get
a lot of those. But say that we want IGBT to make some more
recommendations. We could just ask
what other software I use to what it comes up with. Novo resume, Visual CV, Zadie, that's when
I've used before. I really like there's actually an AI
component of that too. And perfect, so now you have some recommendations
of what software to use and what gets even more wild as you
could even ask it, hey, what templates
should I use from Microsoft Word or Google Docs? Create my resume.
I'll just ask it, Can you teach me
how to build and design my resume
and Google Docs? Let's see what it comes up with. Step-by-step instructions. Open Google Docs,
create a new document, go to File Page Setup, letter
orientation, portrait. Now sometimes and you will notice this with
the free version. It can slow down if there's a lot of
people on the network, that seems to be one
of the bigger benefits of paying the $20 a
month to use premium. Honestly, I don't run
into this problem that often fits
during the workweek, mike, because there's a
lot more people using it. But here we can hit
stop generating, Let's hit regenerate response
to it it comes up with. So yeah, you can just
see it populating step-by-step instructions to walk you through
how to do this. And of course you
could go, there are tons of great videos on YouTube that can walk you through how to put
this together. And you could do research
on templates and what you think would look best
for your resume. But here's chat GPT. You don't even have to
go to the search engine. It just gave you
a easy to do list here of opening up
Google Docs and how you can start putting together
your resume using that.
11. Why You Need a Cover Letter: Alright, so now that you've
got a really good handle on all the ways you can use chat GBT to help write
your resume for you. What about the cover letter? So first and foremost, why is the cover letter so important as a part of
your application package? So the main reason that we include cover letters and
application packages, it just gives the company
or the hiring manager, the recruiter that
you're working with, whoever it might be internally
or third-party wise, it just gives them more
information about you, why you're seeking the
position, your job history, what you're passionate about, it gives them a better sense of your identity as a person, what you're looking for, where you find
fulfillment in work. And I think another way
that they really assess candidates here is the
writing capabilities. Writing is one of the
most important skills that you can have in
the modern workplace. So if you can really articulate
all of these things, if you can show them
some personality, some passion, some flair, some intelligence and skill
through your writing. It's a really great way to
impress the hiring manager, whoever you're trying to get your cover letter in front of. And just for the fun of it, I thought we might as well go
ahead and ask Jesse Beatty. What is the value of a cover letter just so
you can see for yourself. Make it more personalized
and engaging. Introduction. Show your personality,
enthusiasm for the job, provides context
for your resume, shows you've done your research. That's another thing
If you can show them that your values aligned with
the values of the company, this is huge, so this is a really cool
idea that I've seen. Others use online
for customizing cover letters is
they'll actually tell chat GBT to take the
mission statement of a specific company or the values of the value statement
of a specific company. And they'll actually copy, paste that value statement
into THE beauty and say, Hey, create a cover letter based around the value
statement of this company. So then you're hitting all of these big resonant
company buzzwords. That hiring manager
will see that you have the same values as the company which is really attractive. And there might even be
a better chance that the ATS picks up on that too. Because they have it set up
to register certain keywords, buzzwords, phrases, values,
whatever it might be. And that'll also
help you be able to hopefully rise to the top
stack a little bit better. So I would recommend
taking this. And if you've got a specific job or a specific company in mind, feed, if they've got a mission statement
or a value statement, feed that into chat GPT and ask it to create a cover
letter for you, knowing that you're
going to be applying for a position at that company. So I just wanted to cover really quick the value of
having a cover letter. Once again, this is another
great opportunity to use chat GBT as a learning
tool for yourself. And also the value of getting
those specific things from companies that show their
mission and their values and how incorporating that into your cover letter can help.
12. Use ChatGPT to Write and Optimize Your Cover Letter for Specific Companies and Roles: Alright, now that we understand the value a cover letter has
to your application packet, Let's go ahead and do
similarly to what we did for our resume and create a cover letter based off
of all this information. So I'm just going to
tell the chat GBT, use my resume
information to create a, let's just do cover
letter template and see what it comes up with. Awesome. So you can see
that it's using all of that previous data that we gave
it about our job background. Now, this is pretty short
and it's pretty general. So let's say create a cover
letter specifically for me applying for a job at ABC media Corp for a head
of content position. Let's see what it comes up with. And so you can see how
it's getting even more specific with the
feedback we're getting. Just for fun, let's say inject some humor and personality into this cover letter and
see what it comes up with. Hopefully convince
you that I'm not just another boring
robotic candidates spouting off buzzwords
and industry jargon. Great opener here. So let's go to the
chase and passionate about creating engaging. So I just told it to add
some humor and personality. And personally, if I was a hiring manager or you were a hiring manager
hiring for this job. And you saw the humor in this. So let's go to the j's and passion about
creating, engaging, high-quality content
that informs, entertains and
hopefully it converts. And I think it'd be pretty
**** good in this role. So that's really
interesting that it even drops and
exploitative in there, which I would probably say
edit out unless it's in the brand and values of the
company you're applying for. Maybe it is, and
that's something that really stand out to them. But you can say,
okay, make this a, let's just go clean this up a little and make it
more business casual. See what it comes up with. And as you can see, it is dressing it. Abc media, corporate
reputation for producing high-quality content and
forms and entertains. Let's use an existing company as an example here just to
see what we can come up with. So let's say write a cover
letter that humerus. Humerus and and personalized
for me applying for a head of content position at what's a big company
we could put in here head of content at, let's just use PayPal
as an example. I know what you're
thinking. Wow, another cover letter, but hear me out. I have a track record
of creating confidence, engaging, informative,
and even a little funny. So once again, we punch it up so that it
was a little more humorous. So let's do this. Use
this same cover letter, but include items in it that directly speak to paper towels. Paper towels mission statement. And let's see what
it comes up with. Immediately struck
by how your mission to democratize
financial services, the lines of my own values, spent the last 12 years
in digital marketing. I'm thrilled about the
possibility of joining a team to the forefront of innovation and
revolutionizing the way people do business online. So see immediately catches the
eye of a hiring manager as an opener or an ATS
system of you're addressing their specific
mission statement. You can also use if you know the person hiring
for this position, you can include who this
is gonna be directed to. Obviously, these are all just great starts you can
use for a cover letter. And from here you can just ask chat GBT to punch up
specific parts of it to address or highlight specific parts of your
career experience that make you a good fit. You could copy, paste in bits from the specific job listing that you're
applying for us. You can literally take
a job listing from Indeed or LinkedIn or whatever platform you're
using to apply to. And you could copy
and paste that entire job listing into
here and say, hey, create a compelling
cover letter based on this specific
position information. And it will create
something totally unique that addresses
the specific roles, responsibilities, expectations of the exact
position you're applying for. And I can't think of a
better way to stand out to the hiring manager
then bullet by bullet, line item by line
item addressing the specific job that
you have in mind. So open up your chat, GPT, keep going in
the same shatters, same conversation and just
start playing around with different types of templates that you can create for this and start making your
perfect cover letter. And once again,
just like resumes, it's always valuable to have different versions of
your cover letter. So if you have like three
or four different jobs that you're qualified to
do are applying for. You can have
separate versions of each and just pick the
ones that you like best. Save them in Google Docs or keep them saved here in chat GBT. And you'll be good to go.
13. How to Use ChatGPT to Write and Optimize Your Indeed and LinkedIn: And one last big point
that we're going to cover here on the topic of
resumes and cover letters, which I think is really important to underscore
and highlight, is the fact that you're going to be doing the vast majority, if not all of your
job applications, going through some kind of
job or career portal online, whether that's
indeed or LinkedIn, whatever that may be, you're gonna be using one
of these online portals to apply for jobs. So one thing I thought
I'd show you here really quick is why not ask chat GBT? Can you, can you help me use this information to
optimize my indeed profile, since it's the number one Career Explorer builder
job market online. Why don't we go ahead
and use Indeed first. And see here's a
way that you can tell that techy
beauty is amazing, but it's not perfect
because as of right now, I don't think you can add a professional profile
picture to your ND profile. I believe it's all
text at this point. But it gives you all the
components here that you need to make a really
great profile. Then what I would
do is you can just copy and paste this into chat you PT and
feed it through again. So I would say use my career experience
to write a compelling, concise headline for
my indeed profile. See what it comes up with. And here we go already digital marketing expert with 12
plus user experience, SEO, social media content, innovative content
and SEO managed with proven track record of a
growing company revenue, strategic vision, and
strong leadership skills. And then let's say, I mean, we'd probably use these
for LinkedIn as well, but let's say do the same for my LinkedIn profile and
see what it comes up with. Awesome. So you even see it incorporating specific things from LinkedIn
that you'll see like people using vertical bars
to separate the skills. Here are roles. Have content SEO driving
company growth through innovative strategy is content marketing
specialist SEM Andrew, driving engagement
and brand awareness, Senior digital
marketing professional. I mean, these are all great. You could pick any one of them. Then you could ask it. Can you write a full indeed career summary because they
do have a personal summary, your career summary on there. Let's give it a shot. And it's going to work. Once again, you can use everything that it's
writing out here for you. This is a great little summary of you and your
work history here. You can use some of
the prompts we use from the cover letter
earlier and say, Hey, make this humorous,
make this funny, make this professional,
make this casual. I believe you can
even make it in the tone of specific
celebrities that you like, which should be really fun
to play around with here. I mean, the possibilities
are endless to have this create for you, to make your resume and
cover letter stand out. So I would just recommend. Biggest thing I can
recommend here is since the majority of
applications you're gonna be doing are probably through one of these or some other various major portals
and applying for jobs and use chat
GBT and the resume that it helps you
create to build out all your profile
content on Indeed, LinkedIn, whatever else
you might be using to help streamline the
application process.
