1. CPM Course Intro R3: Hi, everyone. I'm Vanessa S, and welcome to my course, how to use ShatGPT as your
creative project manager. Now, you might not
consider yourself a project manager, but
you're a creative. And if you have any
type of activity, task, or challenges where you
have deadlines and, you know, you have work outputs. You have things that
you need to provide, services that you need
to create and complete, then you're a project manager. And most times you're probably
doing it all yourself. Everything that's needed,
you're doing it yourself. That's why this
course is important, and that's why this
course is for you. In this course, I'm going
to show you the podcaster, the writer, the illustrator, anyone that's in a
creative space that's juggling the different areas of expertise that are needed, maybe you marketer brander,
the virtual assistant. You can be any part of
that pipeline, right? I'm going to show
you in this course, how to use Chat GPT to be the people that you
need on your team. In this course,
there are lessons. Follow the lessons, and then
at the end of the lessons, at the end of the
very last lesson, the end of the course, you're going to have a class project. I'll tell you more about
the class project then. But for right now, if
you want to know how to use Chachi PT as the
other people on your team, so that you're not
doing it all alone, there's classes for you, and I'll see you in the next lesson.
2. What is a Creative Project Manager R2: What exactly is a
creative project manager? You might not call yourself
a creative project manager, but if you're juggling ideas, timelines, drafts, and deadlines, you're
doing the work of one. Whether you're a writer, artist, podcaster, or
creator of any kind, managing your creative
process means you're overseeing real projects
with real moving parts, competing priorities, and a whole lot of context
to hold in your head. And if you're doing
most of it on your own, it can feel like wearing
every hat at once. Each and every one
of them at one time. There's always something pulling your attention and someone, even if it's just you
waiting on the next step. This lesson is about giving you that mental weight that you have a place to land and letting
chat GPT help you carry it. Not by replacing your
voice or your vision, but by keeping
everything organized, mapped out, and moving forward. And that's what this
lesson is about.
3. Identify Needs Revised R2: This lesson, we're going
to identify what you need. If you had a team of five
people in the room right now, five people dedicated
to helping you move your creative project
forward, who would they be? Think about that for a moment. Don't think about names. Think about roles. Would you need someone
to help you brainstorm, someone to map out timelines, a strategist to shape
the big picture, an editor to clean things up, a marketing person
to help promote it, a writer, an illustrator? This is where we pause
and get specific because you don't need
help in the abstract. You need the kind of support that matches the kind
of work you're doing. Once you name the
roles you need, you can start asking Chat GPT to step into these
roles one at a time. And that's when
it gets powerful, not because it's doing
the work for you, but because it helps you do
the work with more clarity.
4. CPM Live Demo R2: Hi, everyone. Welcome back. As you can see, I
am in Chat GPT, and we are going
to do a live demo. I just want to show
you a few things just to show you how to set up your folder and how to work within it with your
prompts and everything. So let's get started. The context for this demo, you're a creative entrepreneur preparing to launch a
downloadable journal. You want Chat GPT to help you manage this project like a
virtual project manager, keeping everything on track
and reducing your overwhelm. So to start, the first
thing we're going to do is create a name a project folder. So let's start by naming
a new project and chat GPT so we can keep
everything organized. Now, to your left, there should be a panel. You can't see it on my
screen, but to your left, there should be a panel which has we'll say like new chats, search chats, library,
Codex SRA, GPTs. So you'll have a panel. You want to click on New Projects. When you click on New Project, you have a box that comes
up that has project name, and then you're going to
give it a project name. For this project, I'm going to call it Digital
Journal Launch. There and then create project. So you have digital
launch journal and the folder that shows
up after you name it, and then you have
your chat box here. You can add files and then
add specific instructions. Specific instructions
would be something like don't add, you know, emojis to the content
or don't add dashes or only use capital letters or, you know,
something like that. Specific instructions,
things that you want the Chat GPT to do. Also note that in
your side panel, you should also see the
name of your folder, which is now Digital
Journal Launch. Next, we need to give hat GPT the right context so it
knows how to support you. Here's a sample prompt. Hi, Chat GPT. I'm preparing to launch a digital self care
journal that I design. I'm doing this solo and need help keeping
things organized. I'd like you to act as
my project manager. I need support with
mapping out the timeline, planning the pre launch task, and making sure I
don't miss any steps. Can you help? This opening
message sets the stage and gives Chat GPT a clear
role and responsibilities. Once you have your prompt, you click on this arrow. It's Black circle with an arrow. You click on it, and then
you will receive a response. So Chat GPT is saying, yes, I can absolutely serve as your project manager
for this launch, and it's telling you what it
can do and how you'll start, is giving you step by step. Step one is going to give you a quick snapshot of your launch, and then it's giving
you a tailored plan. Now, understand that
each time you do this, even if you do this
with the same question, it's going to give you
something similar, but it's not going to
be the exact same. A question that I get a lot is once Chat GPT gives
you the response. Is this what you
have to stick to? No. What you can do is
you can go back and say, Okay, I don't want to do this. I do like this, or maybe I don't like any of it. I want to make some changes. You can create a
dialogue with Chat GPT. So, for instance, looking at the quick snapshot of
your journal launch, it's given six different
details as plans. What if I don't want to do
the format of the journal? In this stage. Maybe I want
to format the journal first. I can tell Chat GPT Let's change the
order of the details, or let's remove something. Or I can even ask
it to elaborate. Once ChatGP knows your goal, you can begin brainstorming. For example, I might say, can you help me brainstorm
ideas to pre launch content? I want to build excitement, but don't want to overwhelm
myself with too much to do. Again, you click to submit, and it's going to tell you
what it can do and why. It will always give
you explanations. Now, remember, on
the first page, I said, There right
up under your folder. You can give it instructions. Well, if you don't want Chat GPT to give you detailed
information, after every activity,
you can tell it. Give me brief synopsis, give me brief sentences or don't give me
additional feedback. That is something that
you can tell it to do. Once it gets to know you, the more you use it and
once it gets to know you, it knows what you like, and
it knows what you don't like. It has a memory.
So it will start to pattern itself after
what it knows about you. Chat GPT might suggest
blog post topics, teaser graphics or
subscriber emails. You can keep going back and
forth until something clicks. Remember, treat this like a
real brainstorming section. This is one of those instances where you have the person
that you need in the room, have dialogue with it. You don't have to use
each and every idea. But you're creating momentum, and that comes with the back
and forth of the dialogue. Now that we have a few ideas, we can ask Chat GPT to
help prioritize them. So the question, can you
take the pre launch tasks we discussed and break them into a weekly checklist
for the next 30 days? Again, And Chat and
GPT is saying, Yes. Here's a weekly checklist
for the next 30 days. And as you can see,
it's giving you a 30 day pre launch checklist for your digital
self care journal. It keeps referring back to that. And then it's telling
you in week one, your theme and your goal, and it's giving
you all the task. And Week two, your
theme and your goal, and it's giving
you all the task. And it's doing this
for four weeks. Now, it's asking you a question. Now it's saying, Would
you like this turned into a printable or
editable checklist, PDF word or Cava format. I can also add a
timeline calendar or view if you prefer
a visual version. Periodically, hat
GPT, as I stated, as it's getting to know you, it's going to start to
act like it's kind of to anticipate what you need or anticipate what you
might want to do. Now, it's not human, so it doesn't have feelings, of course, but
it's learning you. And so because
it's learning you, and based on what you're
telling it you need, it's trying to assist you as well as just do what
you ask it to do. You can also follow up with, you know, follow up questions. You might ask it to organize this by week with due dates and estimated effort
for each task. You can tell it that you want to break it
down even further. Based on what you're getting, you're getting a foundation, and you tell it what you need and where you
want to go from there. Finally, if you want a snapshot
of where things stand, you can ask Chat
GPT the following. Based on everything
we've discussed, can you generate a one
page report summarizing the key milestones and next
steps for my journal launch? And it's going to give you a
one page report summarizing the key milestones and next steps for the digital
self care Journal launch. And it's giving you a
target launch window, which is your goal date, a launch format, digital
download, sales pattern. All of these things are again, this is Chat GPT asking questions and
providing information based on what it already knows, what you have already told them, and what it's anticipating
your needs are. So now, with all the
information that you have, you can copy this information
into your planner, your notion Trello,
whatever tool you use. Chat GPT has become
your assistant in organizing what you already know and helping you act on it, and it's helping you to
plan and to brainstorm. So this demo showed you how Chat GPT isn't
just a chat box. It can simulate the structure, clarity and support of a real
creative project manager. Whether you're launching
something new, managing a side hustle or
just trying to get organized. These same five steps can help you stay focused
and move forward. Now, don't worry. I
know that this was a lot to see and read. So I'm going to copy and paste the dialogue, along
with the questions, just as you see them
here onto a Word file, and I'm going to add
them into the class, you know, for class attachment so that you can read
through it at your leisure. If you have questions, please
feel free to email me. I will answer them for you.
5. Class Project R2: Hi, everyone. Welcome back. And if you made it this far, that means you have
watched all the lessons, and you're ready for
your class project. Right? Right. Okay. So for this class project, and it's very simple, what I want you to
do is I want you to open up a chat GPT workspace. I want you to create a folder
and I want you to start telling hatGPT who you are so that you can
identify your needs. So you're going to create a
prompt that says, you know, I'm so and so, and
this is who I am, and this is, you know,
what I'm looking for. Now, I've made it easy for you because I've already
created a script for you to use to get the information that I'm seeking in your class project, okay? So you'll use that script,
put the information, fill in the blanks, put the
information in Chat GPT, filling in the blanks,
that's important, okay? And then after you receive
your response back, you're going to take that
response and submit it as your class project in the class folder for
your class project. Now, you can do this
one or two ways. You can either take
a screenshot of it or you can copy and
paste it onto a document. So you can screenshot
it or either add a or either copy
and paste it to, like, a Word file and
submit it that way, okay? Easy, right? Okay. And so, after you do that and you
submitted your class project, think about also
submitting your work to the student gallery so
that other students can also see your work
and weigh in on it, and you all can have dialogue
about it because remember, it's all a learning process. Everyone is learning, so why
not learn from each other. Okay, well, until next time. And good luck.
6. Wrap Up R2: Okay, well, ya,
and welcome back. And congratulations. So, if you've gotten
to the wrap up, that means that you've
watched the lessons, you've submitted
your class project, and now you're
totally at the end. And the one thing I can
say is that Chat GPT, just like any other AI format, can be extremely helpful, extremely helpful, especially
when you are like myself, I'm a solo senior prenur, right? And so, I mean, just
having to do so much, wearing so many hats
is very, very helpful. But the one thing
I want to state is that you need to be in
control of what you're doing. You don't want to
use Chat GPT or any platform to just
do things for you. You want to be active.
You want to make sure that there's accuracy
in what you're doing. You want to make sure that it
reads and sounds like you. You have to edit in order
for it to be successful. You have to take a
part of you and be a part of it in order
for it to be successful. Otherwise, it's not you. It's the bot, right? So just be mindful of how you thoughtfully
and engagingly use, you know, the systems because we're not trying
to replace each other. We're just trying to make things easier and more consistent.
It has been a pleasure. Check out the other courses
that I have in school. She and look for more courses. If you are not connected
to me already, you might want to be. Okay? Go ahead and follow.
Send me a message. Definitely rate the course. Hopefully you receive value in it because that's
what I strive for. Value. Not just, you know, not just good
content, but value. So anyway, I will
see you next time.
