1. Intro: Welcome to my course on how to use discord. Discord you can get your own community. You can talk about games. You can use it as a streamer, e.g. but also the company to talk to your clients and customers. In this course, we're gonna go over how to make your own discord server. How to make those into discord server today, your own ear modes and much, much more. Don't forget to rate this course when you're done. So let's jump right into it. 2. Join A Dsicord Server: How can you join a discord server? I prefer doing it on the desktop app, and I definitely recommend downloading the app and not using the browser. Then here on the left, you've got your servers. And there's also this plus button at server. This is where you can create your own server or you can use any of these templates. But there's also a button here, join a server. Here you can put in the server link, copy the server link, and paste it in here and click on join. You can join the server. Usually if you have a link like this and you've got the app installed and you click on it. You also can join a server, sometimes his book dough, and this is the only way it will actually take the link. I feel like this is the most reliable option, but clicking on it is the facet one. So I usually just start right-clicking on it and if it doesn't work, I copy it and paste it here. 3. Where Can I Find Announcements: Where can I find announcements in a discord server? So here is my disk richer for and here on the left I see an announcement channel. It just called announcements. So if I click on it, you can see there's a lot of promotion announcements in here, but also there will be something happening. We did this chord, I will be posting it in here. Then here the left, you see this icon and it says announcement. If we hover over it, this isn't an official announcement channel in Discord. Thinks that people can follow this into their own discord and people can get the same announcements. So recognizing an announcement channel is really easy by finding something with this icon. However, if you're new, you might not have the availability to the announcement channels yet. So then what people usually do is just color channel announcements. If you're making a discourse over yourself, make sure that you have a channel called announcements. We can talk about things that are changing a discord or important announcements you want to make. Because if everybody keeps using the word announcements is gonna be easy for everybody to find because it's the same way everywhere. 4. Discord Notifications: How to set notifications in a discord server does multiple ways of getting notifications. E.g. if you join Discord server, you can get notifications for every single message being sent is Discord server. This court owner can turn it off and put them on mentions only, and then you don't get that. So that's the first way of getting notifications, is getting notifications for everything. If you want to turn this off and only turn on mentions want you to do is right-click on the server notification settings and then put it on only mentions and not an all messages. Then in a discord server you can have rules, e.g. here, torture Lord, huge pillars, but also just Dreamer or stuff like that I have in here. And those are mentioned because they're mentioning your role. It's also for owners will give you a rule manually. Like you're my server here, you can click on this image underneath and you can get the role. So what I do if I post something about my twitch, what I'll do is I'll take the role which alerts and everybody without role will get a notification for me. You can just turn it on and off by clicking on these buttons. The way I do this is with the dark PD. This is how it's called. This is how it looks like. Basically what it does is if somebody clicks on the IE mode, it will automatically assign that role. And if I take him, they got to mentioned and they get a notification to go to your notification settings for server, you right-click on any notification settings. And here we have only mentions, which is if they mentioned your role or your person. So for me, a tree or e.g. a. Streamer, or you've considered all nothing for no notifications. If somebody gives you a role and it keep tagging you and you don't want that, set it on nothing. You can also suppress everyone in here. So if you do at everyone, everybody in the Discord gets mentioned with here it's everybody that has access to this one channel is being mentioned. You can suppress that, that I don't do that. Suppress oral mentioned. So every role they mentioned, you can get a notification for the highlights. When they highlight the message, you don't get a notification. If there's events in the Discord server, you don't get a notification or mobile push notifications. You can also turn this off and then you don't get a notification in your phone. He also mute the server for 15 min and our tree hours 8 h, 24 h, or until I can turn it back on. It means that we don't get any notifications for this amount of time or forever or until I turn it back on. This is how you can set your notification settings in discord. 5. Connect Discord To Other Applications: Oh, to connect this score to other surfaces. But you do is you go here to the bottom-left user settings. There you go to connections. Here's see a lot of different icons. The first one is to connect to Instagram, PayPal, TikTok, eBay, crunchy roll. This is an enemy streaming service, PlayStation, Spotify, Xbox, Epic Games, Facebook. We can even click on this to see more. Github, League of Legends, Riot Games to watch a YouTube for some of these, these are just icons on your profile. With others, it does more, e.g. with Twitch, you can implement your subscriber modes to your Discord server. Then all your subscribers can use these nodes all over Discord. It also, if you go live, you'll get a purple bulb next to your name and a link to your twitch. But due to e.g. people can click on your YouTube and watch a few videos immediately. For Spotify, people can see which song you are listening right on the seconds so they can enjoy the music together with you. I don't know every instance of what they exactly do, but most of them at least share your username on your profile. E.g. I. Collected my petal length, which is this. And now it's not displaying on my profile because I've turned this off. But if I click on this, we can display it on our profile. Here we read it, we have our name on the profile, but we can also display details. When I add details, we can click on here. And because I connected this before, details was the thing, I need to reconnect it by clicking on this with torch, e.g. we can see these are servers where I have a subscription on, on Twitch. So I link my Twitch and these people also link their Twitch to their Discord server. And now I can see I can join, it is scored. And then I can use the modes everywhere in discord because I'm subscribed to them on Twitch, you can even add multiple switch accounts. So I have multiple Twitch account and you can just in both, There's no problem. There will also detect if you go live on both of them, YouTube. You can also connect into a disk or surfer, and you could connect the members of your YouTube channel and give them extra perks on your disk or server. How does it look on our profile? So if I click on myself and then click on Profile, scroll down, we can see all this information here. You can just click on here, and then we'll redirect to our socials. This could be nice if you have social media, e.g. YouTube or Twitter or Instagram that you want people to follow. But also, if you want to play with people on a game, it's easy for people to fight you in the game now. So we can see that this is my betel nut and people can play Overwatch, e.g. it may really easily because they know how to add me now, this is how you connect your Discord easily to other surfaces. 6. Discord Mic And Webcam: How to pick a microphone and a webcam you want to use in Discord? Yeah, the bottom left you see this cogwheel would use a settings. If you click on it in a tab app settings, it says voice and video, I'm going to click on them. Here you have a default device. This is the microphone, so we click on us and we can select a microphone we want to use. So for me, this is the mic from the WAF XLR default output. We can select what is your headphones for me because I've used a wavelength software, I'm going to select the voice chat bot for you. This might be real-time audio or any other audio device you're using for your headphones or your speakers. Here we can click on tests and we can see you can, sorry for the echo, but you get deselect that JC input volume of your microphone so you can make it less load. You can't make it louder at 100% Sally. And an output volume of what you hear through your headphones. This is hundred percent, but you can make it louder. Here we have input mode. How do you talk in discord? You can either do voice activation. If you start talking, it will pick up automatically and started recognizing that you're talking and turn on your microphone. We push your talk, you need to click a button and then it will activate. So if I click this, you'll see our shortcut is this tilde thing. If I click that, that means that Denmark microphone will turn on. If I don't click it, no microphone will go on. We can have a released delay for a few, releasing it too quickly every time with the voice activation, we can see this bar. We can see where our voice is ending. So SVC, or voice is actually a little higher than this threshold. So this means that if we put up these thresholds it a little bit, it won't cut off because we're still above it. But if you have background noise, it will be somewhere here and it will cut off the background noise. We can also automatically determined by clicking on here. And now it automatically tries to find the best way to do it. But I think if you take it here, you can manually do it. You get a better result and a more precise result. Now, if we scroll down, we see few settings. This is where you see which webcam you want to use. Here you can choose the camera. We can choose any of these cameras that I've connected. Let's see, my Beck came out, I think that's HTML tree. And we get dusty video here so you can see what's happening. Yeah, That's my bad primer. Hello, Hello, Hello. As you can see, I'm using that right here in the video settings and we can switch here to wherever we want and we can always look at the preview here. You can also click on always preview. Then every time you click on something else, you're automatically see the preview. And we can also set one of these virtual backgrounds like we can do. A background blur is going to work pretty bad because well, it doesn't recognize my face, but if you see if I turn it around, it recognize my face and it's going to make that sharp. You can also have a custom one and have something like this and it's automatically recognize your face. It's going to put that in, but it works a little better with a friend Carolyn does with the back camera. You can basically choose any of these and it will automatically green screen. Then we got some advanced options here. This could only uses the best organic, locally sourced opium voice codec because this is where you can turn on the open 8264 video codec or turn it off if you don't want to end the hardware acceleration, if you don't know anything about computers, just leave it as it is here we have echo cancellation. If you've echoing your microphone, if you click this ONE, there might be a chance that the program can resolve that the noise suppression, this is trying to reduce the sounds around you, e.g. your computer friends or train passing by, we can have standard crisp or known. And the more we put on. So if you put it on crisp, the more it's going to affect a voice as well. We want it to be as low as possible, but still without any noise in the background, we can automatically control the gain of the microphone, which makes it go louder. If you talk really quietly, enabled quality of service, high packet priority. You can see that basically from all the internet uses you're using, Discord is going to get priority in your router. If you turn this on, knowing the volume of other appliance by percentage when somebody is speaking set to zero per cent to completely this April. So if somebody is speaking and you're playing a game, it will lower automatically if you turn this on. So you can hear that person more clearly when I speak, you can turn it on, you speak yourself as well, or just when others speak. Another one that's important to keep on is voice diagnostics showing warning when discord is not the audio for him. I confirm this way. You know where your microphone isn't attached properly. Those are the most vital parts for attaching the microphone and your webcam and using them in discord. 7. Make Your Own Discord Server: Hello, to set up discord server to make your own discord server, I recommend downloading the discord at first, so don't do it in the browser, but in a discord desktop application. So this is how it looks like and this is my server. To make a new server, you click on the Plus, but just at server and create my own if you wanna do it just for your friends here, but for Twitch streaming or for YouTube streaming or any other community, club or community right here. You can give it a server name. You can call it whatever you want. If you have a name for a community, put it in here. If you're gonna make a server all about a game, you can put it in here for me. I'm just going to keep it tree server, just to keep it easy to remember. Here, I'm going to upload an image, which is basically one of these images you see here on the left. It's becomes a round circle. I'm gonna click on here and we're going to browse for an image mode here of a cow. So I'm going to click on this one. As you see, it makes it a circle even though it was a square. So some things might be outside of this frame right now. So keep that in mind. I'm going to click on Create. Now it made a new disk or surfer and it automatically puts it on the top of your serverless. Now, you're the only one in here. Let me start out. We have a general chat and a general voice Chen. To make a new text chat, we just click on the plus here. We can call it whatever we want, media, e.g. and we can create it. Now, this is a new channel. We can create as many as we want. Means same goes for the voice. Just click on the plus and make sure that you click on the voice for this one. You can call it over, watch chat, e.g. and create a new one for voice chats. You can use a space for text just you can't. If you would type something like Dan over, watch Chen, a dash in-between will appear. You cannot remove this dash. You can also have categories. So this is a category with text and voice channels by clicking on an EDM create category. Now here we can give it a name, info, e.g. for the information channels and we can direct them on both. Now we have information channels here to make a channel with socials, e.g. we have it in the information section. We can lift these and place them somewhere else. Just drag and drop. You can even have your voice chats in the same category as text chats. You don't have to have it in a category called voice channels. I do recommend having at least in general chat area of talk to each other depending on what you want your disk or two people if you play a certain game at all and you want to interact with people about that game, e.g. Overwatch, I just keep using it as an example right now. You can make it Overwatch channel as well, where people can talk about Overwatch, e.g. I. Teach a lot of things about streaming. I do have some channels about streaming here as well. If you start out with a server, you can make your announcement gentle and actual announcement genitalia. But if you grow, you can have it to be an announcement channel. You see that this is an announcement channel. This is a text gentle. So this means that we can publish things in this channel. Basically, if you click on a plus, we can see that there's multiple options here. Which one of them isn't announcement channel people will get notifications for these things when they come out with Estates General, you can have host speak and people just listened in without being able to speak. But this is not available yet when you just start a server, I think the best thing you can do is think about why would people come to my desk, good surfer, and built your server around that? Because then you know what kind of channels you need to be you about gaming. Makes sure that you have some channels where people can talk about gaming. You do something creative. Have some channels where people can share some of the creative. If you have a server or a longer time, you will see which channels are going to be active and which ones aren't active. Tried to switch around, delete the non-active channels at something new in and see if that works better. Otherwise just delete them. You don't have to add like 100 channels. But if you have ten active channels and to have hollow channels where nobody is talking in, another important thing is setting permissions. E.g. in the announcement channel. You don't want anybody to be able to type here. So we're going to edit this gentle. Go to Permissions. Everybody that's in, it's just scored. Can view the channel. Yes. Measure tell, no, we didn't want them to be able to do things. Mesh permissions, No, No. Creating fight, no. Sent messages, no non-traditional. Sent messages and threat know create public trust. No, no, no, no at reactions, Yes. This depends on what you want. If you want them to be able to react with an E mode on it, you can just say yes, otherwise no. They can use externally modes on it. That's fine. The rest of it is No, except for message history. If you turn this off, people don't know what is set in that channel. Less. They are right there at that moment, that as being said, so I said this is a yes and no, no, safe. Now, people can see what's being typed in here, but it can type themselves. I can because somebody, because different permissions for categories. So instead of going for this one, because we don't want them to be able to type into rules and roles and the socials. We could also just sell it for info instead. If we right-click on info, we can edit the category and we can edit the permissions here. If you set a position for a category info, it will applied to all the channels in this category except for announcements, because we just said everything for announcements manually, manually for channel override someone one in a category. We can also set permissions per row. So we can add rules by going up here, server settings, rules. Here we can create roles, e.g. malt, and what we can do is we can set these permissions parole so we can plus here and click one of the other rules. We can also click on one of the members to set the permissions for them specifically. But if you have a big server, you probably want them for roles instead. Though we can say noobs. They can also talk e.g. so we can set this ONE sent messages every time. It's like on the middle part, it means we're not going to take the real from this gentle, but we're gonna take it from the category info. So it's not set for those things, but we're going to look at Mars it set for any Info channel, you will get the highest permissions of your highest rule. So e.g. everybody can see this channel, but nobody can talk in it, but noobs can talk. So that means that if you have a noob, you can talk even though you also are part of the group, everybody. So if I give you another rule as well, you still can talk because you are part of the role noob. So you get the highest permissions you get in one of the roles you have. 8. Discord Create Role: You have discord server and you want to add roles. You discourse server, how do you do then? You go into discord, you go to your server and I click here on this arrow. Then here we go to the server settings. Here in the service settings we go to Roles and it says Create role. Here we see all the roles that we already have. So we're going to create a rule and we can give it a name. So I'm going to call it test for now because this is just the test for us. It's Oreo here we can choose a color or we can click on this to choose anything. E.g. this purple, if your server is level two nitro, you can also choose an image, but you have to boost the server for that. So that costs money. Here you can display the rule separately from all nine members. I'm going to save this for a second and go back to the server to show you here e.g. the Happy Birthday and immoral, the twitches grabber rule, level 20, level 15 are different than just the online that we have here. So these are just all nine people. These are online, but these other roles are separate. They become their own category. If we go back 2D rolled section, if you click this dural test will become its own category. Hello. And he wanted to mention this role. This is good e.g. for mud role where people need to take it. Otherwise, if you take this on, what will happen is that people are going to take this role and people are gonna be annoyed by all the notifications table can, you can view the server as if you have this rule so you can see which permissions they have. So you know, if they can see the things that you want them to see here on the left, you see all these roles and the order is actually matter because the higher does role is on this letter. The hired is sending the Enter key of permissions. If you put test before months, most Kanban tests, because that rule is higher than the rule. You have to keep in mind that if you have boats and they have their own rules, that you keep them above the roles that you let them interact with it. Because otherwise they can change things. E.g. we have the perfect bulb which needs to give and take The Happy Birthday role. If you put Happy Birthday above the pot rule, it can't interact with it. Here we see manage members, which means that we can see which members have this rule. We can add members in here to add to this rule. We can also add the row to people by clicking on them, clicking on the plus and then giving them test. Just click on here. Now Nim has test and we're moving it by clicking on the X. The last thing I want to show you guys, if we go back to roles and go back to the test rule, we can have permissions here. Permissions can be set per channel, but also in general, here is few channels. Now we can see the channels in a discord, server mesh channels. It can change the channels. Good for a role, not so good for other things. Manage Roles. It can change these rules just like we're doing right now. Mesh emojis, stickers. It can add stickers to your server. Beauty audit log can see who left the server joyed server. We've got banned few servers, the insides. So as e.g. statistics on how many people joined, managed web hooks. I mentioned Server. These things are all kind of like moderator things. So you don't want to give this to other roles. And the moderator roles. Create an invite from the server and chasing nickname. Create an invite to the server, which is a new link for people to come into server. You can also just share a link that you made yourself in one of your info channels. And then you don't need this because people can just use that one link. They can choose a nickname, miniature other people's nicknames. Again, I wouldn't allow them to do that. Kick members, band members, timeout members, will actions. So not everybody should be able to do that. Sent messages. Of course, you want them to be able to talk. It says messages into tracks and Baker threats, we have private threats. So these are just invite only threats. Then they can put links in the chat, attach files, and at reactions, reactions are like if you resist and leave a reaction like this and you have this little reaction, I can use external nodes. If they have no triadic, can use image from other servers. And if they don't, they can use twitch image of subscribed channels and saying which stickers I always keep mentioning at everyone in here out because people are going to try and spam and you don't want them manage messages and manage stress. Again, moderation actions. With message history, you want to turn this on. If you do not turn this on, people could only see the messages posted when they are active in that one channel and they will not see anything else. So this is really annoying if you forget to turn it on. People won't see anything in the channels. Text-to-speech messages. Usually I will keep this off because they can become really spammy slash commands. This could be for boss to interact with e.g. the perfect board or the reaction robot connects to voice channels, speaking voice shallows, and use the videos, kind of speaks for its own. Use activities that use voice activation. I will just keep that on. Then they can use they conducted a microphone, will pick them up. Instead of that, they have to use push the dark priority speaker. Don't put this on for everyone because if you push the dark, everybody is quiet, automatically. Mute members. Again, different members and staff members are moderation actions. You don't want to give everybody requests to speak. This isn't a stage genital. Stage channels are kind of like podcasts kind of things or seminar kind of things. And people can request to speak and ask you a question. Mesh events. So you can create events like assembler or something like that that you want to do in your server and then people can start being part of that. So again, moderation, action and administrator issue make them an official moderator in your discourse server. So again, you don't want to give that to everyone. So that is how you make a role in discord and how you can set it up. 9. Add Emotes To Your Discord Server: How do we add an email to your discourse server? Here's my Discord server. What we do is we click here and then go to surfer setting. Here we see emoji. Here we see all the emojis that I have uploaded. As we see, we have 50 image slots. If your server is boosted by nitro, you can have more slots if you're animated the most with Jeff, only people that have discord nitro can use them. Here are some requirements that need to be a JPEG, PNG or JIF. The recommended file size is 256 KB and the recommended dimension is 128 by 128. I see You think switching modes or how to 12th. 12th, you can still upload dose, but this court will resize them. The email name needs to be at least two characters long and contains Alpha numeric characters and underscores you want to add one, we click on Upload IE mode. I'm just going to click on my cow here. And I was uploading. It's already uploaded. We can already see it and we can remain here to test e.g. cow test. Now if somebody types contestable dog, this emote will appear. So it's a little cow. The cow test is going to be here. If we click on emails here, you can see my mouse is right here as well. As you see there's more demos right here. These are my subscriber. You most from Twitch. You can link your torch to your desk or server. Then all your subscribers on Twitch can use your torch E modes in Discord as well, in any channel, the standard emails that you upload to your Discord server can only be used in your desk or server unless the person has nitro. If you have nitro, you click on emails, you can click on any other server and use the most from that server to server myths, this server has the settings on that S allowed. A server can decide to turn off emails that are not from that server in their own server. 10. Discord Nitro Boosting: What's this chord nitro boosting for a server? Right here, I'm on my Discord server and if we click on the settings here, we can go to the surfer boost till here we can see the levels. We can boost the server. If we click on this, you'll see it costs money. The currency will change depending on where you live. If you still have the discord nitro classic, you get the discount. So this is already discounted. If two people boost it, we will get 50 more surfeit ie modes. So a hunter in total, ten custom stickers lost a total of 15. So you already get five, get better audio quality and intermediate server icon, custom server invite background, which means that if you have this invitation link, you will see a background on it. Stream to your friends and high-quality. So just the quality of the streams are going to be higher for seven boost right here, we're gonna get a note of 50, so that would be 150, so that will be one plus two plus the basics 15 custom stickers law, so dirty and total more audio quality. A server banner. So that's like a little icon on the top left. So you would have it right here, an upper limit of 50 and before the whole surfers, so everybody that is trying to upload something on the server will have a higher server uploads and ADP 60 FPS streams in your server and custom rule icon. So you can have like IE mode or something and I can in front of a role. And for the third one, you get even more slots. So you got tune of 50 emotion total. You've got six stickers in total. You get better audio quality again, goes from invite link for a server. So you can have discord Dutch cheese, e.g. tree. I don't have that, but you can have that as discord server name or your name, obviously not mine and honored and B, upload limit for your members on your server only. Then we have an animated surfer vanished so that surfer vendor is going to be animated. So boosting is surfer written nitro and buying a server Bruce does not give you nitro yourself. So you do not have a nitro subscription if you boost a server. 11. Discord Streamer Mode: What is streamer mode? So if I go to discord here, it has two modes, enables, say Save friend, we can disable it here. If you see this purple banner here, this means this streamer mode is activated, automatically starts when you start OBS Studio. This is to prevent from leaking information. One thing it does is if I go to my name, I click on myself and I go to my profile. Here it says streamer mode enabled. If we disable it and we click on herself scan and go to a profile, we can see our socials that we have linked right here. So this is one of the things it hides. I'll give me set the streamer mode on. If it didn't automatically go on down here uses settings. Then we go to streamer mode, and we can enable it by clicking on this, but it also hides e.g. this here, nasopharynx in account. It makes sure that it's some information like e-mail and stuff like that, It's not leaked. So here are some options for it and we can set automatically enables disables if mode OBS of exploits are running on this computer, like I said, it's automatically start. If you run OBS, you can disable that if you want by clicking this off. High personal information, emails, connected accounts, notes, and anonymized number tags. So this is the tag that I showed you on the profile, that's the connected accounts. But also to note that you leave on a person, there'll be hidden if you turn streamer mode on, and this is also on height invite links, this will hide the links that will lead to your Discord server. So if you're streaming a don't want people to come through you a super secret discord server. Make sure that you turn is on disabled sound. The sound effects from going into a voice chat, e.g. there'll be turned off or when somebody joins. The scooping. Nice for people to know here, but it could also be annoying if you don't know who's joining and when they're joining. So this is a preference thing if you want this on or off, you can also disable the sounds of any notifications so they will not be in your stream. I keep saying stream in here because it's called streamer mode. But you can obviously also use it for recording of V0 content instead of live content, because it's also a really annoying to hear notifications in your video content. There it off. You can click on here or just turn it off in a banner like this. 12. Discord Overlay: You're gaming on stream. And now you also talking with people in discord that you can hear on stream. It will be cool for your viewers to know who is talking, having their name, and I can be displayed with the voice that here, it's super easy to set this up in Discord as this code already has a native feature that can show you who is talking while playing a game. To get this overlay from discord in OPS, we need to make sure that we open discord first, go to a name here and goes to the colloquial thing User Settings, click on that. Then here if we scroll down a little bit, we see activity settings, game overlay. We're going to click on that ever going to make sure that we enable in-game overlay. It could be that this is already set up for you and then you don't have to do it, but makes sure to check this. You can also set a keyboard binding to toggle overlay lock. Let me just set this to Shift F9 for a second so we know that we can toggle the overlay. Look, how big do we want to people that are in our discourse to display in his overlay, do we want them large or small? Display names? Always, while speaking or never? Never is basically the same as off. So you probably want always are only speaking. I prefer always because then you can see who is already in your disk or a note when somebody is speaking. But if we prefer only seeing the person that is speaking, make sure to put it on this setting instead with the user's display, always are only well speaking, not just the name, but also the icon. Here I can say in which corner you want the overlay to be in, top-left, top-right, bottom-right, or bottom-left depends on which game you play. There might be information at a certain corner. You might be wanting your webcam and certain corners. So pick the one that fits you best. Here says Show Text, Chat notifications. I recommend turning these off because these will also be displayed in your stream soon, how does this go on? Now, we're going to start a game. So I'm launching of watch two at the moment, if we go to discord and a voice channel, let me go into a lotion because that's locked. There we go gear when we start Overwatch, I've got an FPS counter and everything. But you see that I'm in here. You see you when I start talking, it lifts up. When I'm quiet, it doesn't let up. If you have multiple people in your first shot, this will be a longer list of people. They will light up if they're talking and they will go like this when they're not talking. But how do we actually display this in your OBS now, I do have OBS here and we're going to add a game play capture. Game play capture. We're going to call it Overwatch. To us, is the game over our shoe and every click. Okay, now we capture a specific window and we captured a game. It should appear right underneath here and here as well. However, we can see that the discord overlay is not in here. What we do is to scroll down and then capture to a party overlays. If you click on this, it's going to take a second. And we can see that right here, my icon's started to appear and if you click on Okay, now we can see that this icon is actually displaying on stream as well. So this isn't easy way to set up the discard overlay in your OBS. 13. OBS Virtual Camera In Discord: You want to join at this chord call with the output of your OBS. So you can see your camera or you can still switch genes while showing them in your desk chord. That is possible by using virtual camera. I'm going to show you in this video how we do. I just see I'm recording this with OBS, so there's a little stream section, sorry. First thing you want to make sure is that you OBS setup, like you want it to set your camera to the scenes that you wanted to, that you set things up like you want it to ever done that. And we have the scene like we wanted to. Let's say e.g. say it's this, we're going to do virtual camera. Start virtual camera. It will just be like recording that has a start and stop button. So now if you click again, we will stop it again. We will turn it on. Now we can go to discord. Now we'll go to the settings, then we go to voice and video. Here, we can set our voice, which is correct already for me, but we can also set our camera. So what we're gonna do is we're going to click on the camera here and set it on OBS virtual camera here we can test the video like we see. We can see the same screen because I'm recording that in OBS right now. So if I make it smaller, you can see that this is a scene that we have here. If you would ask something else, you would see that in here too. But I can't do that because I'm recording this with OBS and then you can see the other things as you see it's displaying this right here in the video team. If you have a camera there, it will also display the camera here. If you have images there, it will also be displayed if you would switch scenes, it will also switch scenes. So next time you join, it will be using the OVS output. If it doesn't, what you can do is join a channel dark primitive video, right here. It works two node camera, and now it works already. But if it does pick the wrong one, we can click on turn off camera, but there's a little button here. We can click on that and select virtual camera here as well. So we do not have to have it on the default one. If we click this little arrow, we can switch to the OBS one as well. Turn it off, just click on stop virtual camera again. Make sure that you always have OBS open with the virtual camera on. Otherwise, it does not work because it needs to be opened and it needs to be running. 14. Course Project (Outro): Thank you so much for joining my course on how to use Discord for the course project. What I want you to do is to create your own discord server. With all the knowledge you've learned in this course, make sure to add voice and text channels that fit with the topic of your Discord server at rules to your Discord server to make sure to keep people organized and set permissions per channel or per category. Once you've done that, big a screenshot and share it in the projects and resources tab if you have any suggestions for topics that I need to still at in this course, leave them in the comments because I will try and keep this course as fresh as possible. Tell me what you thought of the course by giving it a review and don't forget to check my other courses because they might also be helpful for you. I'll see you in one of my other courses.
