1. Intro: Chances are a very active on social media. You've seen these types of videos getting shared with tons of different shares and comments and likes. They do a great job at informing viewers about a certain subject at a fast pace while continuously keeping them engaged the entire time. It's a great way to make videos. Hi, I'm Arnold and I'm a professional content creator working with brands around the world over the last 10 years. In this course, we're going to talk about how to make a video just like this. We're going to plan, shoot, and edit a video for real life brand. So you get real practice and real behind the scenes of how this is made. By the end of this course, you're going to learn how to plan out your shoot, go into the field and everything that you need. And finally, how to go back into the computer and edit this using motion graphic templates. And ultimately, my job is to make you feel completely comfortable in making a great video just like this. So if you're ready, Begin. I'll see you in the next video. 2. Breaking down the pieces: Okay, We're beginning by talking about the hook shot. Now this shot, the first thing you notice is me bring it up the jerky and bringing it to the attention of the viewer. Now, the reason why I did this is because by doing that, it has this engaging dynamic element so that when, you know, when I bring up the jerky, the viewer is I go what's coming into the screen. And also I throw in the moving text on top as well because that text introduces what is going on. And I mean no pun intended because it also says introduction there. But what that does is it brings in and opens up the narrative to what you want it to be. Now with the focus part, I had me out of focus and the jerky being the main subject. So it is the one in-focus. So what I did was I made sure that the jerky was in focus as I pulled it up and then that became the scene that I used. Now for this next scene came on, a jerky is being introduced. So here's the bag of the product which is being on the sand and engaging element to pop up in highlight what we're talking about. So you could also just have a word font text in there, but with the motion graphic moving in really gives us dynamic element that catches people's attention and holds people's attention. Now if you do decide to just do text, then I would definitely recommend using a cross dissolve or something so that when it comes into screen, it is actually moving and dynamic. Now this next scene is a bureau shot of the ocean and it shows what this brand means. So come on, translates to power of the sea. Basically this is kind of a filler element as we transition into the other shots. The idea behind it is because we have been talking about the jerky itself or so much ready, we should give something to the viewer so that it, I'm out of the focus of the same topic. So here it's more of the ocean and it's more of the meaning behind what is going on behind the brand. So this makes severe see a different side of the picture. Key thing to note is the reason why I use this element or this style of transition, is because this keeps in engaged viewer. Okay, So this next scene is a couple elements. First, the B-roll of the fish because it highlights what this is being made out of. And second, the sentence that actually talks about what this is made out of. So this company makes quality jerky with a 100 percent wild caught tuna, which is something that they advertise on their bag. So we wanted to highlight that point as well. And also it's very interesting for a viewer to watch and be informed about for this brand. And then once again, I made it an animated motion because this keeps the viewer very engaged and focused on what is going on and what it's saying, because it's just so dynamic. You don't want to use a static text if you can help it. Alright, so for this next shot, I have the bags in the bottom and the text on top of it, kind of at the center. And the purpose of this one is to give a big informational piece on what this product is. So something to take note of is how I framed it and what I had in the background as well. So since this is a jerky brand from Hawaii, we do want to incorporate as much ocean and land and unique elements as possible. So here we have the scene, the lava rock or sometimes coral and some parts of it in the ocean in the back. Okay, so these next three shots I use as a buildup until the end. So it is moving at a faster pace so that I could build up into this grand finale. And then you have your ending shot. Now these were all really simple photos. What I did was just shoot a simple or just a minimal product photo of the product. And what it did was keyframe the Zoom. So then as it moved along, it would zoom in a little bit or zoom out a little bit so that it can keep the audience engaged. You know, we always want a dynamic element in our videos are shots. And finally, we come to our ending shot, which is me holding out the jerky dead set in the center and we have the logo for jerky popping out. It's a very clean and good conclusive shot so that it wraps everything all up and also leaves a lasting impression with the people who are potential customers or just viewers who are watching this video. Okay, so now that we know what shots were used were actually go back in time. And I'm going to show you what the shots were like and how I planned it and basically take you along for the shoot. 3. What You Ned: Okay, so for this part we're going to talk about what you need to make a compelling viral informational video. Now the first thing, and this is most important of all, is the motion graphic templates shortened for MOFERT. And the reason why we need this is because they help simplify so much of these animated texts. Yes, you could just have them, keyframes are done and aftereffects. But doing motion graphic templates on Premiere, I think are the fastest way for you to get the desired effect. Now, in these examples, I'll be using a Maddie apoikia motion graphic templates kit. It is around 50 bucks, so it does cost money for that one. But I would also recommend Mix kit dot co. They have a lot of free title templates for you to download from. And it's very beautiful. All you really need is an animated graphic. And this, a mixed kit totally has all the resources that you'll need. Okay, Now after that, we're also going to need some product shots. So what I mean by that are photos and videos. And essentially the product shot set where you're going to need are pretty easy. What you really need, a few photos of the product in hand. That way you can insert text into it later and also videos. And the videos doesn't really matter too much as long as you capture the product, because the focus of the video clip is actually on the words that's popping up. So as long as these video clips show just what the product is, then that's great. And then finally, we need some B-roll. B-roll is very helpful in crafting the whole story and making things look like, you know, it brings the viewer into the environment that this product is advertising. Say for example, with our product here being a Hawaiian based jerky brand that gets fresh fish. I opted to get B-roll that includes water and the ocean and essentially whatever fits best with our product. 4. In the Field: Hey, welcome. So now if you're at a beach and the beach, we're going to shoot our first shot, which is the introduction shot or the hook shot. And the hook shot is important because this is what brings people into your video and your shot. So right now, I'm looking at different scenes and settings and seeing what we could do it. And I think right now I am actually a setup right here on the beach. I want to have the camera facing out into the ocean. Does this product is a C type of product? And we're going to go and shoot our bookshop, which is either going to be me holding it out or me bring the product up. So let's begin to dark gray now the sun behind my back and we're going to flip the camera over this way. Okay, cool. Looks like we got her shot. I also thought of another alternative bookshops, which is having camera here and just simply bringing the product into view. Now, let's go and do that and you're gonna see what I mean. Okay, so now that we've done the hook shot, Let's go move on into doing some of the other shots that we need, which is essentially product shots for approach. I'm going to grab this bag and set it up in places that look like it's relevant to the brand. And for this brand being a jerky brand, I'm going to put up next to some rocks on the Seine and to start off with that. So we're just stumbling across different landscapes. And right now there's this piece of driftwood that looks really nice to us. This down into shoots or more with this equilibrium here. Essentially we just need to fill up our shots with B-roll to describe the product and bringing light to the product. There's some kayaks here. So I'm going to shoot it raining series times. Okay, so we're at this another stretch of beach where it's also really beautiful when he had some charts around here, maybe with the trees, the scene and the TV towards so that my turn out, some of them are not. So we're just going to shoot see. And then I'll see you in the lab movie, start editing videos. Okay, so now that we have our shots, Let's go into the computer and edit or a video. 5. Editing Process: Welcome to Premier Pro, and we are going to start editing and recreating the video now. And so to make this easier, I put all the clips already upon here, the clips that we're going to have to use. So this way we don't have to time it all up again and, and what not. But this will expedite the process a lot easier in your situation when you do it too. Ultimately, it's very similar to this. You just line it up with my Eclipse or you can line it up with your own timing that you think would fit best. And yeah, so essentially you see just run through and so you know what it's going to be like. Okay, so let's start from the beginning. And first things first, I generally like to make these into a square format. So I'm gonna go to sequence settings. And then since it's at 10 ADP 1920 by 1080, I want to make it a custom. And we're gonna go 1080 by 1080. And just to make sure there's 23.976 frames per second, which is essentially 24 frames per second, which is what you want for your video. Okay? And press Okay. And yes, it's going to ask you if you're going to change everything, I'm gonna say, okay, and change it. So here we have, now, it's all in a square format. Run it through one last time. I'll just skim through it so you get the idea. And great. So now that essentially we have all the pieces in place, the next step really is actually really simple. We just have to line it up with the text and the text. You should have gotten prepared already. It really does help a lot to have everything that you want to write it out already prepared or even have a bunch of extra stuff that you want to talk about for the brand. So for this first one, we're going to talk about introducing a new healthy alternative to jerky. So I'm gonna go and look for simple line review motion graphic templates that I like to use a lot. And here it is. So drag that on top. And then as you play it, you're going to see a preview. And of course it's too big. So what I tend to do is I scale it down a lot. Okay, so like that and scale a little bit left because as you remember, the first video was around the top-left area. So you have your thing in place. Let's go over to the text section and change the text. So I know that the brand that used a very bold type font and one of my favorites is didn't condensed. So we're going to use something like that. And we're going to go into the text and type in what we're going to type, which is something like introducing a healthy alternative to beef jerky. Okay, so as you can see, that text is misaligned. So what I would do here is I would bring that turned down and See what it looks like now. Okay, cool. So now it looks good. But as you can see again, the line is on the wrong spot. So the line on the left that's moving. And good way to do that is to go down and take a look at what is going on here. So this is the line, this is the scale, and let's see where we can move it. So here's the y axis. Okay, great. So set of moving the line and moving my texts, which is probably a lot easier. Okay, so now that we have the text and the line all in order, I would actually want to move this down a bit. So there. Okay. So we'll play this and see how it turns out. Air. Yeah. Okay. So we get the first scene down and I'm going to crop it so it ends at the first scene. And then we'll move on to the next one, which is this. And it's the bag of jerky. What we did here was introduce the brand itself. So I'm gonna go back into my Essential Graphics area, which is on the graphics tab, central graphics. And I'm going to look for the one that I used here, which was the MHC2 0 special graphic. So one of these, so it's good to be familiar with what Motion Graphics Template Pack that you have so that you can quickly get to an excess, the ones that you need. So I believe it was this one. Okay. So I'm gonna drag this in, play it out and see what it looks like. Okay, massive. So first of all, I'm just going to cut it to fit in with this bureau that we have and then scale it down. Now, we can just have it centered. The last video, I had it a bit more up because it was blocking the text on the jerky. But I think we can just have it centered. If you do want to change it up and you're bothered by blocking the texts of the jerky. You could zoom in on the jerky and play around with these settings and see where it fits best. So I think personally right here, not too big of a deal. So I'm gonna keep it in the center for this one. Then we're going to go here and edit what is in the text. So this one is tricky. Then again, we can change the font to didn't condensed because they have a very big bold, strong font. So now that we see it is actually small. So we're going to scale it up a little bit. Okay, there you go. So actually like it like this as play it over to see what it looks like. Great, that works. Okay, So after we finished that, we're going to move onto this next one, which is a B-roll of the ocean. And this goes perfect with what the sentence is going to say. So essentially the sentence was Kibana means power of the sea. So we're gonna go here and find a different motion graphic template. And a light which is also around here. And I believe it was this one. Okay. So let's play it out to see what it looks like. Okay? Yes, that is the one. So I'm going to crop it into it fits the Bureau as usual. And since it is big, I'm going to scale it down. And then once we scaled it down, when you go to the text section and go Kai means power of the sea. But let's make it sound better. So translates to power of the sea. Okay, Now it seems like it's too long. So let's play it out just to get a feel of how long it is. And sometimes with a older computer does take some time to load. Okay. Now, we didn't change it to didn't condensed yet, since this is the font we've been using, so it's good to be uniform. Okay, great. So this looks good. Length was, and let's see where the white box comes in it. Okay, cool. So everything works out. We don't need to change anything. Great. So after we finished that one and move onto this next one here, which I believe says, well, we can always go back and check. So let's go back and check on the video section what texts I use for that. Okay, this company makes quality jerky with a 100 percent wild caught tuna. Well, let's just copy this so we don't mess anything up. Okay, so I'm gonna go back here and we're at this blank v rho again. And we're going to look up simple line review, which was the one that I used for the first one. So I'm going to drop it in here, crop it so it fits the B-roll. And as you can see, still big. Scale it down to maybe 50. Basically, you just want something to have a guideline for you to measure it with. So with 50 we can see that it is kind of big wise, it's big, so we're going to change this font. But first of all is put in what I had earlier. This company makes quality jerky with a 100 percent wild caught tuna. And we're going to make this thin condense bold. Okay? And this looks like it's not space correctly. So let's see how this looks. Okay, this looks a lot better. And as you can see, this line is also in the wrong place. So I'm going to move my text up again. Yeah. Okay, cool. So once I did that, It is so big. So I'm going to scale it down a bit more. And I think I like it like that. I like to center it a bit too. So. See what we got. Okay, that one slope. So I'm going to skip previewing it there and play here. Okay, cool. This company makes quality jerky with a 100 percent wild-caught tuna. Break. This thing looks good. Now let's move on to the next. And this is again, just the B-roll. And this is a long one. I kept this long because I had a long sentence of what was going on. So it look, let's go back and check this sentence again. Because this one, I can't just remember. And like I said earlier, it's good to have all of these on a notepad or something so that you're ready to type it all out once you're out and doing it. Okay, so this one is going to say kind of monitor key has embraced the ancient art of dried fish to give their jerky a great taste for the modern lifestyle. Let's copy that and go here. And with that one, I use which graphic that I use, simple one review as well. Okay, Cool. So which was the same one that we had just use. And actually really like this simple line review one because it's so universal and it can, it's so clean and minimal and quick and it doesn't lag. There's not too much going on, so it doesn't like distract the viewer too much. So let's input our new text. And you'll notice once I once I press this button, it's going to be huge. Yep. Okay. So you got to scale it down and center it, and it's still really big. So let's change this text again so we have a better idea. Okay, go there it is. Now I'm going to center this. Maybe make the font a little smaller. There you go. Okay, and the white bar is a little weird, so I'm going to move my text a little bit. Maybe. Maybe here. We're here for you what I did, but centered looks good and even at the top looks good. So let's just play it out and see what it looks like. Okay, that's not bad. I mean, it looks pretty good. So as you can see here, it's a bit shorter than the end of the Bureau, and this is a long sentence. And with this length, we can't finish reading the sentence on time. Or a lot of viewers can. So what I did was I went to this motion graphics template and actually slowed it down to maybe 70 percent. Okay, and then you can see that it's a lot longer now. So let's try 80, 80% percent turns out just about right. Let's see. Okay, cool. Yeah, let's just keep it at 80 percent. So it's going to play out and gives you a bit of time to read it. And I think it's just the right amount of time. So next we have these three things. And it looks like I have already done the keyframing. So let's go back and redo all these keyframing so that you have an idea of how it's done. Okay, I'm going to delete all my previous keyframes. Okay, and we're gonna start with this first one. So it starts off at a scale of 46.5, essentially. Let me show you what it was like at a 100100 was super zoomed in because we're on it 1920 by 1080 frame. But these images are be huge, like giant 20 megapixel images. So it comes out a lot bigger. So the way to do that is the way to work with it is to actually just make it smaller. So that's just 47.5% to start off with. So I'll start here. And to keyframe it, you press this clock button next to it. And then you scroll all the way to the end of the clip. And then maybe zoom in or zoom out. So let's just do 50. And then you can see that it's going to move. Once I preview it. There you go. And then that's where you throw the text in. And the reason why I like these slightly moving images is because it's so dynamic and it makes it more engaging for the audience to watch. Okay, we can do the same, but this second image as well. I'm going to scale it at Fourier and make it like 52 or something, 50 to cool. And then we can go on to this final image and scale it starting at 43 to 46. Alright, now I want to play author. You just get a preview of what it's going to look like. Two, nice and clean. And then finally it goes to the ending shot loops. But for that, before that we should add the text into these. So the text that I had, let's see, sustainably caught good source of omega-3 made with a Loa in Hawaii. Okay. Let's bring in the text. So the text here is didn't condense. We can make that font correct. Okay, sustainably. And also if you haven't already, you should save as you're doing it so you don't lose anything in case the program crashes or you get the spinning beach ball of death. Okay, so sustainably caught, I am going to even it or center it. There you go. You didn't know already holding command and brings out these red lines as you're moving it. And for this one, we're gonna do see sustainably caught. And then good source of omega-3 essentially could really just be anything. But, oops, good source of omega-3. And again, I'm going to center it. Okay, and then crop it into fit the image. And finally the last one made with a Loa in Hawaii. Okay, perfect sizing, good font. Now we're going to center it. Boom. There it is. Okay, now we have a3, these. And finally the ending, super easy. We're actually just going to drag the logo and which I saved earlier. And there you go. Well, you could have the logo dead center to end it. I did it stylistically on the bottom in the sample video. But essentially you could just have whichever you think looks the best. Okay, and as a final finishing touch, I like to add a adjustment layer so that I could make my clips look better. So these are all our texts and move the text up so the adjustment layer doesn't change anything in it. And then I'm going to drag my adjustment layer in. And now this is where it's helpful to have, let's, and Adobe actually does have some built-in, let's, such as these Fuji ones. So we could just click one of these. Fuji returned 250 d. And this is just one of the letters that's built in with Adobe Premiere. And it looks pretty good already. Generally, I would just turn down the intensity because it is really intense and it is really warm. And this photo it seems like or purplish. So maybe I'll make it more on the green side not to rain. Maybe negative 10 on the tint. And now you have some decent looking color and all these texts in here. So it looks like a good, well put together viral informational video. And there you have fully edited. The next step is to export it. And if you don't know what settings you have, this is what I have. Format H.264, preset, Match Source high bit rate. And sometimes I click use maximum render quality, although you don't have to. But this is it. And then this is where it's saved to. You can click this right here to change word safe to. And besides that, you are done. So I'm gonna click Export now. 6. Ending: Congratulations on finishing. Now you have the toolkit to make your own viral informational video. So the project for this course is to go out and make your own viral inflammation or video. Now, I made this project really easy. All you have to do is have a video with an animated texts. When you're done, post it below and I'd love to see it and give my own feedback on it. And if you can help me out, please leave a review about what he thought about the course and I'll see you in the next class.
