1. Edit YouTube Videos in Davinci Resolve 17 Quick & Easy: When I was first learning how to edit videos for YouTube are made so many mistakes. And I taught myself by learning from tutorials on YouTube. Now this wasn't the best way to go about it, and it really took so much time to get used to a workflow of how to edit my videos. So this is the kind of course that can help you fast-track your editing workflow and save you so much time to become a better YouTuber and start getting more views on your videos. February, My name's call, and I'm a full-time YouTuber and I've been using DaVinci Resolve to edit my videos because it's a completely free editor and it's so easy to save you so much time editing your videos. This is the class that I wish I had when I was starting out on YouTube, when I was first learning how to edit my YouTube videos alone par Child era, and learned how to fix these mistakes by watching YouTube tutorials off the YouTube tutorial on YouTube tutorial. The lessons in this course are the lessons that I wish I had when I was starting out on YouTube vs going to fast-track your editing workflow to get you from 0 to 10 thousand subscribers, 0 to 1 million views faster than you think is possible to pace part about this is you can use free software videos that can make you money on your YouTube channel. Firstly, we need to learn how to edit the foundation of your video. I'll also share with you the keyboard shortcuts, tips, tricks and techniques that are going to help speed up your editing workflow. Secondly, once we've got the base of your editing done, we're going to start adding some bells and whistles. We're going to add titles, transitions, lower thirds, images, screen recordings from your laptop and from your phone. Any adding in some animations to make things really interesting. And finally, we're going to polish everything off with some background music. Great sound effect, adding compression and E q dot audio, and also some awesome calibrating techniques. I'll explain all of this dark while showing you how we edit one of our YouTube videos for our channel. And you'll have access to all of the raw footage and all the bells and whistles that we use for our videos so that we can work through the project as a practice, run it together. Let's get excited about taking on editing to the next level. And I'll see you inside the course. 2. Project & Sample Footage: Before we get started in DaVinci Resolve, I want you to download the sample footage that we have created for you. Now there's a link down in the description down below, and you're gonna get access to the sample footage folder. It's going to have three video files plus your project file, plus a whole lot of B-roll as song that you can add an and a whole lot of sound effects. Now you can download the sample footage and work through the entire edits and everything that we teach you using the sample footage. The best thing about editing is the more reps you do, the better you get. So the more practicing we do, the more mistakes you make, the more we learn, the quicker you're going to be able to get better at editing. And it's also going to speed up your workflow process. Make sure that you are practicing. You can use a sample footage or you can use one of the videos that you've recorded for your YouTube channel because then you get the benefits of having a finished product at the end. Now the music and sound effects we use from Epidemic Sound will leave a link for you in the description down below. But that's only lessons for our YouTube channel. So if you want to use music, make sure you're using music that is not copyright. We don't want you guys getting and hot water with YouTube or anyone else if you're using the wrong kind of music, so make sure that the music you are using is not copyrighted knowledge. Ali had the footage that you're going to edit for your YouTube video or the sample footage. In the next lesson, we're going to create your first project in the Vinci Resolve. Let's get straight into it. 3. Create a New Project in Davinci Resolve: Welcome to lesson 3, where we're going to show you how to create your first project inside of DaVinci Resolve. The first thing we need to do is open up da Vinci resolve. Now if you don't have DaVincis all the installed on your computer, I'll leave a link for you down below to a video that will walk you through step-by-step how to install it on your computer. Now remember, the venture is always a completely free editing program. There is a studio vision that is a paid version. But for now to get started, the free version will be more than enough for you. Wants to Vinci resolve launches on your computer. You're going to be met with this opening screen that has all of the projects you've been working. So once you've started working on a few projects inside the Vinci Resolve, you'll see that all of these old projects are now going to show up when you open up the venture zone. For now we're going to hit down in order to create a new project. We're going to call our new project how to edit YouTube videos into Vinci Resolve and then click on the Create button. And there you have it. Your first Vinci Resolve project created. In the next video, we'll take you through an overview of the layout of DaVinci Resolve and how everything works together to create the best possible YouTube videos. We'll see you in the next lesson. 4. Overview of Davinci Resolve 17: Now I'm going to take you through a quick overview of the Vinci Resolve layout. They are seven different sections inside of DaVinci Resolve that all fit together in order to create the best editing platform for you, for your YouTube videos. The first section is the media section, and this is where you're going to import your media, organize it, and manage it for your project. Next is a cat page where we're gonna start editing the base of your YouTube video. This is where we cut out all the R's and pauses in your video. Then we're going to hit into the editing section where we're going to start adding some bells and whistles. Start taking your YouTube edit to the next level. Next we have the fusion page. We can do some really, really cool things with animations inside of your video. Then we're going to hit into the color management and thus calibrating within DaVinci Resolve is where DaVinci Resolve really, really shines. This is the base of where they started the editing platform and you can do some really, really powerful things within this color section. Now a lot of high-end movies actually use DaVinci Resolve to calibrate their footage. And there's so many amazing tools that you can use with a McCullough editing, then we have failed at that helps you edit your audio for your video, including the sound effects and the music that we're going to add to your YouTube video. And then we have the delivery page, which is the final place where we're going to export your footage. And the great thing about the virtues of it, you can link your YouTube channel into DaVinci Resolve. So you can deliver your video straight into YouTube and upload it directly from the Vinci Resolve. Or you can just render your video onto your computer and then uploaded to YouTube. We prefer to do it this way so that we do have the backup of the file on one of our hard drives. And that's a basic overview of the layout of DaVinci Resolve and how it all fits together. In the next video, we're going to show you how you can import media and get started with your edit. 5. Import Media into Davinci Resolve 17: Let's get started importing some media into your project. So the first way you can do it is hit over to file and then import and then select media. The other shortcut is to hit into the media pool and you can right-click and you can select Import Media. Then we're going to head into the sample footage that we've given you. And we've got a camera 1, camera 2, and a screen recording. So make sure you're importing all three videos into your media pool. Now any import media DaVincis always going to ask you if you want to change the frame rate of the Talmud, we're going to select. Don't change. And our three clips have now been imported into DaVinci Resolve. In the next lesson, we're going to show you how you can sync your audio quickly and easily. We'll see you in the next lesson. 6. Sync Audio from Multiple Tracks Automatically: In this lesson, we're going to show you how to automatically sync audio inside of DaVinci Resolve to get started, head over to the edit page and we're going to drop our three sample clips into the tongue. And this camera, one way to drop camera too, on top of that. And we're going to drop camera three on top of that. Now I want you to open up your audio waveforms so that you can see all of these waveforms and what you working on. Now you can see from the waveforms that all three camera angles are out of sync because we started them recording at different times. So what I want you to do is to select all three clips. And then we're going to right-click and we're going to go auto align clips and select based on waveform. Now what this is gonna do, DaVinci Resolve is going to automatically align your clips so that everything is in order and this makes your edit so much easier. We used to manually have to do this by going back to the sink cap and mocking way each sync clap was, and then manually moving it and it takes way, way too long. You can see with automatic sync inside of dementia result, it does such a good job of thinking at the audio so that everything is perfect. And to the t. Now if you're going to film you YouTube videos on more than one camera, or you're going to have a screen recording attached to your video. There's a much easier way to edit your videos then bar going through and editing three different video clips and three different audio clips. In the next lesson, we're going to show you how to create a multi-camera clip that's going to save you so much time in your edit is always another second and jump right into it. 7. Create Multicam Sequence in Davinci Resolve 17: In this video, we're going to show you how to create a multi-camera sequence to save you time in your edit, the first thing you have to do is go up into your media pool and select the clips that you want to add into your multi-camera sequence. Now you can do that by dragging over all of them. Or you can select and hold down Command or Control and select the individual clips that you want to add into your multi-camera. Once you have all of them selected, we're going to right-click and we're going to select Create new multi-camera clip using selected clips. Now we can rename this timeline and what we want to call it. We're going to call it how to edit YouTube videos. And in the angle sink, we want to choose sound. So it's going to sink all of the clips according to sun, which is very similar to the audio sync that we did in the previous lesson. And in the angle name, you can just choose the clip name to keep that the same. And then we're going to click Create. Now it's going to take awhile to analyze the content to automatically sync the audio and line up all of the eclipse. Once it's finished learning, once it's finished creating a multi-camera sequence, you'll see you have a new clip here that has these four squares with the solid one in the top-left, that shows that your multi-camera sequence has been created and you'll have a new button or a new folder created. They're called original clips. If you go in there, you'll have the three clips that you added to your multi-camera sequence. So what we're gonna do is drag the multi-camera sequence and drop it into our timeline. And you can see now we have one video line and one audio line, and that is the best part about this. In order to have a look at your multi-camera sequence, what you need to do if you inspect a is open, is click on it to remove it and then your second preview screen. Yeah, on the drop-down we want to hit over to multi-camera view. And you'll see that our three camera angles, and if you have more camera angles that will pop up here. Now the great thing about the multi-camera is that you can switch between all of these depending on how you want to go. So we can play through this and I'll show you how to select your different camera angles and show you how quick and easy it is to do. So while you playing through it, you can either click on the clip that you want to select and choose that one. Or what you can do is use the shortcuts on the shortcuts are 1, 2, and 3, or the number for the video that you've chosen. So we like to name our clips camera one, camera two, camera three. And then from there we can then select which one we want to shut. So if we want to show camera to the angle, we can select camera two angle. We can go back to one, we can go to the screen recording, go back to two and back to one. Vinci Resolve makes those cuts for us. And what they're doing is they are editing the audio as well. So as you jump to a different angle, it's jumping to the different audio. Now we don't want that to happen. So what we're gonna do is we're going to use a shortcut Command Z to undo the cuts that we make. So we don't want the audio to change when we making these cuts. So what we're gonna do is hit up to our multi-camera window and we're going to select a video ID. Now this is going to make sure that every cut that we make, It's only going to change the video and not the audio. It's gonna keep our main audio alarm on audio one. So let's play it through and let me show you if we change the angle. Now you can see it's making the cats on the video learn and not on the audio line, which is exactly what we want. So you can preview it and go back and see how it looks. Now that's looking pretty good and I'm quite happy with how that has two. And that's how you put together a multi-camera sequence inside of dementia result. I hope you loved this trick as much as I do that started saving us so much time in our edits. And it's really, really cool to be able to do this, to have all of your different angles, but not take too much time in the edit. In the next lesson, we're going to show you how to edit the audio for your voice so it sounds crisp and clean for your YouTube videos. 8. How to edit Voice Audio in Davinci Resolve: In the next few lessons, we're going to show you how to edit the audio and the color to make your YouTube videos look professional, let's jump into the venture is off and get started editing your voice to make it sound clean, clear, and crisp to get started, head over to the Failover tab. And then what I want you to do is drag down your audio so that you can see your audio waveforms. The first thing I want you to do is right-click on your audio and I want to normalize the audio levels. We like to target a level of minus three dB for our peaks. So normalize your audience at minus three. And then we're going to hit over to the right-hand side to the facts and make sure you're on the same audio line that you'll vocals are currently on. Our vocals are currently on audio one. So we're going to add it to audio one and click on add effects. The first effect we're going to add is a DSS head over to Effect. Click on the plus button, hit down to noise reduction and click on DSR. Now this takes away the S's and thus a new video just drops him down a bit and keep it on default. And we normally have it on 7 thousand, this first range. So sharp range and the amount at 50 percent. Once you've got that close out. Next, we're going to add EQ. So he'd down to EQ and double-click on this and you'll equalizer will open up. So the first thing we're gonna do is turn on Ben one and turn on the band six. Then we're going to grab that one and drag it across. And we normally lactose around 70. And then hit are the 26 and grab that and scroll it across. We normally like that around between 78 thousand and this heading around that 16 thousand mark. Then hit over to Ben to and select the second option and hit over to Ben father and make sure it's ozone, the second option. So we want Ben 2, 3, 4, and 5 all on the same options. And then what we're gonna do is grab two and lift the lower frequencies. So we normally like to lift these around 106. Grabbed number three. And then 45. You can listen to your voice. What we normally like to do is drop for around 100 and just a bit and then grab five and drop that around 2000. Once you've got all these settings set, play three audio and you can move them around and tweak it slightly according to what we've got Biao soluble footage for our cause on hands. The edit YouTube video is inside of the Vinci Resolve. I'm creating. Now if you're not a 100 percent sure, an easy way to do it is to overcompensate and the way that we don't want to go. So we're going to try that with foreign far to follow with that frequency is that we would like to drop. So let's play footage due January hours to download and work together with me to practice using to practice using that around to practice 1 thousand Israeli where we want to draw, split this using the Metropolis back down. Finally, you're going to teach you with in this course. Now I'm purposefully recording this on two cameras, one camera one and camera two. And then once you've got a feel for your audio, you can then sit your different levels where you want them and then we can close out. That's our equalizer Dan. Next regard to adding some noise reduction. So click on plus and their effects it down to noise reduction and choose Noise Reduction. And what we're gonna do a select auto Speech Mode. And the Vinci does all the work for you. So we can close out of that. And then we're going to add a limiter said obiter fixed, click on that plus button down to Dynamics, going to fill out and select limiter. Now we're going to set the limit to minus 3 dB. That's where we like to have our threshold limit. And then we're going to play with the input to get the best out of our vocals. So let's play through our audio and you'll see how close your waveforms get to the limit. This is going to be our sample footage for our course on how to edit YouTube. Video is inside. Can see we're not even halfway towards the input. So let's up the levels a bit and see how close we get and what it sounds like. I don't begin to resolve. I'm creating the sample footage that, you know, we're getting much closer. It's looking really good way to practice using. If we overcompensate if required to ha, you'll see what happened. This is going to be our sample footage. Wow, cause on hunting, edit YouTube video is inside or the Vinci Resolve. I'm creating the sample fancy histology and files to download. Regard too high, you'll see the peaks go way over. So we don't want it to be that much. I would then between 23 looks good in a would mean to practice using. To practice using and check the output that we interplay between minus 10 trick and monastery this using the tips, tricks and techniques and we're going to teach you with in this course and check that your output is in the range where we want to be. We want to be between minus eight and minus 18 dB on our output. And we like to do the editing of our vocals before we start making any cuts and the cat page so that we only have to do it once. And then we make tweaks our audio after we've finished making cuts. If we need to tweak and you go, Yeah, We just found it much easier editing audio once and not having to copy and paste the attributes onto the different cuts after we've made the cats. And the next lesson we're going to show you how to edit the color. And we also like to edit the color before we make any cuts just to save us time and copying pasting those attributes, we like to fine tune our color and audio at the end once we've made all the cats. But in the beginning that basics and the foundation of audio and the color is very similar for most of the clubs, for our YouTube videos. So let's jump into the calibrating in the next lesson. 9. How to edit Color in Davinci Resolve: In this lesson, we're going to take you through the basics of calibrating and DaVinci Resolve. So let's jump into da Vinci and get started having fun Wilson color. Now we're not going to get into the complication of nodes in this lesson, just know that a node is lock a layer in Photoshop so you can create sequential nodes and creates as many nodes as you want to add different adjustments to your image. Right now, are we doing as a foundational edit, just making a few tweaks to make our video look good and look professional. You will see our timeline at the top here is going to show all of the cuts and clips that you've got. We haven't made any cutscene it at, so we only have one clip the and we can see the entire timeline on a zoomed out view shot. Now individually resolved your C for color wheels as you open up and your scopes on the right-hand side, you'll see it. We're always going to adjust your entire image. So if we grab our offset wheel and head towards the orange, you'll see that our entire image gets orange. If we drag it and go towards our blues, you'll see how our entire image goes towards blues. If you want to reset, you can just click on this enable reset. Your offset will. Now the scroller at the bottom here will increase the exposure if you drag it to the right and decrease the exposure for the entire image. If we drag it to the lift, we can then reset that. Now we have Lift Gamma and Gain. Our lift is affecting our darks are blacks and our shadows. I'll gain wheel is affecting our watts and our highlights. And the gamma is affecting everything else in our image. So if we go to our game and we drag it towards the orange, it's only going to change the color in the highlights. If we drag it towards the blues, it will only make the highlights and what blues, we can reset a chair and then we can lift the whites and highlights or drop the watts and highlights. It's a back next onto our left. Now, this is going to be our dark areas of our image, making them orange and making them blue. We can reset a chair. We can lift our darks in the image and we can drop our dogs mirror image. And then researcher gamma is the rest of the image. So these are the mid-tones, making them orange, making them blue, resetting, and lifting the midtones and dropping the midterms. Now let's have a look at the top section here. We have our temperature, which is just warm and cold, attend, which is magenta and green. If you want to reset any of these changes, you can just reset and that resets all the wheels and the changes at the top here. Here's our contrast. So we can increase the contrast and we can decrease the contrast. If you do want to undo one of these changes, It's just command Z to undo. Now let's get onto the bottom. These are color boost, which is boosting the colors. Image. Here, the shadows, if you want to lift your shadows or increase your shadows. Next is highlights. If you want to drop the highlights or left the highlights. Saturation of your image, if you want the colors to really pop, is a hue. If you want to change the hue in your image. Now that's the very basics of how the color wheels work in your image. Let's reset all of those changes. Now that's the basics of how the color wheels work in your image. Next, we're going to hit over to the Tone Curve, which most of you should be familiar with it. And we like to add a little bit in here. If you want to go for the S-curve, you can grew up the darks and the shadows and lift the lats. We're not gonna do that for this image. We just want to lift the midtones a tiny bit chair and drop those highlights. Luckily, that's already starting to look like a bidder exposed image. Let's head back to the color wheels. And what you can do here with the lift is select, pick a black point. You can choose a portion of your image that should be true black and on. Again, there's the same. You can select where it should be, true what? And that's going to start where your editor is going to be. Nadh has gone too far for me. So I'm going to let the blacks a bit just come back a little bit from where they had come. Looking at our scopes and looking how much true black we actually want an image and the gain we're going to come down. We don't want as much of a game. And then we're going to take a bit of the orange out the image. So we're going to hit towards the blues. Now what I'd like to do is if you overdo it, you can see how far you actually need to go over do it. And then we come back to where we think the skin tones are looking better. Now we can adjust the mid tones if we want to add a little bit of orange into the mid tones or a little bit of blue into the mid-tones. We can do that. We can lift the gamma, will drop the Gamma. So we want to lift it a bit to get more unabashed image. We're going to drop the highlights and lift the shadows ever so slightly. Now we're going to add some saturation. Now if we had too much saturation, look terrible. So we go as far as we need to. And then what I like to do is just drag to a different part of the video so that we can see once we have moved, always, still happy with all of those colors. And if you want to see a before and after, you can click up top here. So that's our before image. And that's after we have finished editing all of mechanics. One more thing I'd like to do it at a bit of contrast into the image and look at that before and after. And how awesome does that look? So you can see how powerful the color is inside of individuals or once you understand all of the controls and how to tweak it. Now remember, after you've made all of your catchy can come back and like final tweaks to individual clips and cuts to make your entire YouTube video look that much more professional. In the next lesson, we're going to jump into the page and start refining our edit, will see you in the next lesson. 10. How to Use the CUT Page in Davinci Resolve: In this lesson, I'm going to show you how to use the cat paid to dramatically decrease the time it takes to complete your edit for your YouTube video. And the main point in using a cat page is to remove all of the gaps, pauses, and mistakes that we've made in the video to create a clean, clear foundation to start our edit in the Edit tab. So let's jump into the cockpit and get started trimming out all those pauses, mistakes, ums and ahs. The main tool that we're going to be using inside of the cut page is the Blade tool. So if you want to cut a clip into two, we can hit into a clip and you can select the citizens. And that will split your clip into two. And you'll see at the top here on our zoomed out view, you will see the cut that you make. As we scroll along. We have our different cats. Now you can use this cut tool, but it is slow scrolling up and cutting each clip. If he ever want to go back the shortcut is Command Z on the keyboard and then up arrow to go to the start. Now we're going to be talking you through lots of keyboard shortcuts. And if you want to change any of the keyboard shortcuts to the ones that we've mentioned to you. All you have to do is hit up to DaVinci, Resolve it over to keyboard customization, and then you can customize certain keys. So one of the ones that we've customized is b to the Razor Tool, to the razor blade, so that it's not Command V or shift B. We've actually just made it be to save us time. So if you want to download our keyboard customization, you can have a look at that in the description down below. So all we do is whenever we get to a place that we want to cut, we can hit B on the keyboard and it's made a cut the quick and easy. Come on Z to undo that cat and up arrow to go to the top. So another two keyboard shortcuts that I want you to remember is up and down arrow, and that takes you through to the last cat. So if we make a Catia and a cafe and we want to go back to the start or where we made a cut. It's just the up arrow to get to the start and down arrow to get to the end of the clip that we just cut. And we can go up and up to go back to the start of iodide and down and down and down to go to the end. So the up-and-down keyboard shortcuts are really nice to move through your iterate very quickly without having to scroll. Pay me is left and right. Now if we scroll left and right, if we scroll right through, we're going to go phrase you back, right? So this is last if you need to make small adjustments and you go back to the start of when I was talking. You can get to the starter when audio starts and then make a cut nice and clean right there. This is a lot quicker than actually going in and using your mouse to make these cats. I'll first step in a campaign is to take out all of the pauses so we don't even need to preview the footage. We can just scroll through and look at the audio wave forms wherever they are, big gaps, we're going to cut those out straightaway. So let's call through and find the first gap. And I'm going to show you, and I'm going to show you how you can cut and trim out this pause. I'm going to show you a shortcut that's going to save you server time to do this really quickly with one of our keyboard shortcuts. So to do this, what I like to do is turn the sound off because we don't actually need to listen to what we saying and just scroll through using the top zoomed out Tomlin to find out where they are big gaps in our clips. What this does is it takes our original clip and reduces a drastically. So we feel like our editors actually smaller than it was when we started. If your timeline is way too long, you're going to start procrastinating or edit and start putting it off because you don't actually want to get started as soon as we remove all of these breaks, it makes it look much more manageable chunking, it's a great tip. So if we look at it, we've got about 450 on our Copia. Once we've done removing all the spaces, we will see how much we have left. So we're not going to remove any of the small gaps, It's the big one. So here's a big one here, what you can do is select the scissors to cut the and then scroll through to where we start talking again today. And you can then select the scissors again, select the clip that we want to take out and hit Backspace. Now that is the long way around too out your pauses. If we hit Command Z to go back, what I like to do is let's scroll back to the start of this pause. I like to use our keyboard shortcut. So I hit the shortcut be to make a copy. And then we scroll across to the end of our pause. And we've created a keyboard shortcut, q and w. So cute trims back to where I lost cut was. And w trims forward to we are lost cat was if we had cute, just takes up that space and it's much quicker and easier. So be to make the cat and Q2 cut back. It's called a ripple delete. It keeps scrolling through to find another gap where we aren't talking. So here's a long pause. We can see how flat it is, k. So we're going to hit the shortcut be to open up that cut. Then came thinking we're not saying anything. Pause, pause, pause. You can see how long we've done this for. And then we start talking again. So we're going to hit shortcut queue to remove that. And you can see how much time that is just taken up out of our edit. There's a small gap be to cut and scroll across. And Q to remove that. There's another pause. Use the right arrow to scroll to the right place to cut and Q to remove that, there's another break. So I'm gonna show you on our keyboard shortcut. Think flew in front of a camera today. So what we're gonna do is make the cut at the end of our gap. So hit the B shortcut to make a cut day and we're going to scroll back to when the flow fluid in the way while we're talking. And then all we need to do is hit W and it cut whatever is in front of it to the next cat, and there's another gap. And that should be the end of our recording. Can see ricotta. So then we can select that hit backspace and remove that last clip. Now if you have a look, we've gone from 4.5 to three and after we've removed a minute touches almost 20 percent of our air that has been removed. So if you can save 20 percent Editing tab in every edit, just pass starting with this method in the cat page. It's going to save you so much, Tom. Now we're going to hit back and see if there are any mistakes that we made or any parts where we've had duplication which we are going to remove. Remember your edits, if there is any repetition, you want to remove it. We're going to go through removing repetition on the page and also when me and edit page. The most important part to make sure that you guys have any repetition in your YouTube videos. This is the one thing that makes YouTube videos boring and actually reduces your audience watched up. You can remove all the repetition in your edit. Your videos will be so much better and your YouTube channel will grow much, much faster. Now let's play through our video and remove all of the mistakes or repetition. So now let's turn the volume back up and goes to your clip to remove any mistake. This is going to be our sample. Now I'm going to remove the start of this. Now we can grab the clip and drag it with our mouse. Or we can just use that shortcut queue. And work together with me to practice using to practice using the tools to cactus using the tip check, to practice using the tesserae made a few mistakes. They now we want to cut out those mistakes. So we had the blade tool and practice using the tips, tricks and techniques that we're going to teach you with in this course. To hit the up arrow to go to the start of our cut. And now we're going to hit back to see where we started. So we will look for the practice using, to practice using. I'm creating the sample footage trilogy and files to download and work together with me to practice the scenarios, to practice it. To practice. So we hit W to remove that gap, and let's hit back and see if it flows. And work together with meat to practice using the tip. We just didn't cut enough out there. So listen again. Work together with me to practice using the tips of sugar and techniques that we're going to teach you within this course. Now a handy little trick that you can do if you have made a mistake, lactose is added a smooth cat, which is a transition that DaVinci Resolve has to cover up any of your mistakes that you've made together with me to practice using. So if you see a bit too much blur in your hands, you can shorten the smooth cut. And let's see at that flows better. Was to download and work together with me to practice using the tip stillbirth. Funny, here we'll see too much of that blur. Stride one more time. And work together with me to practice using the tips, tricks and techniques that we're going to teach you with in this course. Now I'm purposefully recording this on one camera. Now purposefully recording this on two cameras to tesserae made a mistake. Let's scroll back and hit that shortcut and purposefully recording this on two cameras. So we've got camera one and camera two and then also doing a screen recording on my computer. Because a lot of the time the video is that we create for our YouTube videos, it's nasty, had two different angles so that you can change the angle and keep the audience interested in your video. Plus. And most of the time when the blade tool to cut there. And we're going to head back. I'll make sure while you're going through the cat page that you're always saving your footage. Any chance that you can. Shortcut to Save As command is, you don't want to ever lose your edit. And lose work that you've done. So make sure you're always consistently saying that save shortcut and keep the audience interested in your video plus a lot. And most of the time it's a tutorial walkthrough on how to grow your YouTube channel. So it's really nice to have this screen recording to be able to go through and show people how we actually create our video is how we optimize things with analytics in the background of our YouTube channel territory, we're paused the plague tools. So sorry Rick. I mean, again, I really like having edited once you've got it. With regard to particularly talk a little bit, pretty much anybody who can check cash flow positive in their credit. Now, now if you lock this, now if you lot, you got value out of this course on how to edit your YouTube videos in solid DaVinci Resolve completely free videos will leave a link for you in the description below, does cause so that you can check out our course on how to fill new YouTube videos so that you get the views that you deserve. Because all we wanted the end of the day because only what? And so hit that be to shortcut the blade back to because because W to remove the gap. But once at the end of the day is for you to be able to grow your YouTube channel, grow you influence on land so that you can make money and start creating a lot of freedom. So that you can start creating a laugh of freedom that we taste. So repeating ourself, there's our repetition. I want you to make sure that you're removing all the repetition and your video and start creating a laugh. Do to be able to grow your YouTube channel. Influence on land, so the plants on land, so that you can start creating a laugh. Now if you cut on perfect, don't stress too much on the cut page. We can refine these cuts in the edit page and make it a really smooth so that she can hide all of your mistakes. That's the best part about editing. And to close off with our standard YouTube closer. So that's our standard YouTube closer and you can see we're down to two minutes 45 now. So we've cut out all of the mistakes. We've made a good foundation for our YouTube edit. Now we're going to start adding the bells and whistles into our YouTube edits. In the next lesson, we're going to add in music. Then you're going to start adding and B-roll titles and sound effects. Let's start adding some music Intel video. 11. How to add Music to videos in Davinci Resolve: Now we're on to the fun stuff, the bells and whistles of your edits. In this lesson, I'm going to show you how to import music and add a music track to make your YouTube video more interesting. Now the music we using is from Epidemic Sound. We have given you a copy in the sample footed, but this doesn't give you the license to be able to use it. You need to sign up for your own subscription with Epidemic sound if you want to use their music, we've got a link down in the description below. It isn't affiliate link, but it helps support us in order to create these videos. So let's jump into DaVinci Resolve and add some music TR track. The first thing we need to do is import the music. So we're going to right-click in our media bin, select Import Media. You're gonna go over to our sample footage folder. And in the music file, we've got a song here. So we're going to add that in and you can see it's now imported into our trek. And we're going to head over to the edit tab. And we're going to drag our music and drop it into our timeline. And the audio to now the audio track 1 is our vocals and we want the music to go onto audio too. Now if you just drop it and start playing it to the music is going to be way too loud when you are talking and of your voice. So we want to drop the music track down, doesn't dominate our voice, but it adds some dynamics to the video. So what we're gonna do is head over to the Philae tab. Now we're going to open up our audio too so that we can see the waveforms are going to select our audio to right-click and go to normalize audio levels. Now we're going to drop this and this is completely up to you. We like to drop it to between minus 18 and sometimes even minus 25, depending on what kind of music track it is and how loud we want to drop this to minus 20 dB and select normalized. Now you'll see our wave form does decrease drastically. It's played through. He's going to be our sample footage who are caused on how to edit YouTube videos inside or given to resolve. I'm creating the sample foods instability and files to download. And now this is how we like to add music to our videos, because most of the time we talking in now YouTube videos, if you have big gaps where you've got B-Roll and you want to increase the music When you on talking, then I'm going to show you a quick shortcut called audio ducking individuals, all that, a Hopi do that automatically. So if we head back, Let's go come on SSID. So we have a normal waveform. What we're gonna do is select our audio one track and go into the dynamics of audio one. So double-click on the dynamics in audio one in your dynamic, select the compressor and select sin. Then we're going to hit into audio 2. We're going to select listen and select that compressor. We're going to have our threshold at minus 30. We're going to leave it at two to one. And let's listen to how attacks the audio for the music is really cooling. This camera 1 camera doing a screen recording on. So it's coming back quite quickly when our pause, let's increase this hold to about 70 and listen again. That includes a lot of the time the videos that we create value. It's bring their release Peck. She video is, it's not stand for a few different angles so that you can change the angle and keep the audience interested. Try to hold a bit longer. And videos. And mostly it's helmeted tutorial will walk through on how to golden YouTube channel. So it's really nice to have this screen recording to be able to go through and show people how we actually create some videos, how we optimize things are feeding in and 600, so on. Really lock having additive on suitable Hamilton was created. So it can get, as soon as we stop talking, the music comes back in. Now this is completely up to you which way you want to do it. If you want to use the audio ducking or if you want to do it the way that we do it, the last tweak that you can make as you can crop the overall levels of your audio too, if you want to drop it. So when it does come in, it's still not too large. So if we go to minus 15 and let's listen to that. And we're going to be our sample footage for our course on how to embed YouTube videos inside or Vinci Resolve. I'm creating the sample foods instability and files to download. So if we want to test out what it sounds like, if we don't have vocals, we can remove and audio line. And let's listen to how the song comes in with the audio ducking. Practice using the tips tricks. And there is a quite nice labels there chaired come back in. And most of the time MTD tutorial walkthrough on how to grow your YouTube channel. So it's really nice to have this screen recording to be able to go through and showed people how to attack the music really nasty. We're coming back into the media and it's flowing really nicely. In the next lesson, we're going to show you how to add titles, interior YouTube edit. 12. How to add Titles in Davinci Resolve: In this lesson, I'm going to show you how to add titles into your YouTube videos inside of Da Vinci Resolve. Now adding titles to your YouTube is a great way to increase your audience retention because it gives him a little break from the normal aerial shots that they used to seeing, especially if you're doing talking in or you're doing tutorials with a screen recording. This is a great way to add some extra dynamics into your edit. So let's hit into the Edit tab and we're going to head over to the left-hand side and select our Effects library. And we go over to media pool and remove that. So that affects library shows up across the whole left-hand side of our screen. If your titles on showing, just go over to the toolbox and then select titles normally all open in your video transition. So you can select titles and you'll see all the titles are now going to shut. Now. Now to add a title inside of the Vinci Resolve, or you're gonna do is choose the title that you want. You can crab and drop it in the video two line on top of the title and then select it. And you'll see on the right-hand side in the Inspector tab, you're going to now be able to edit the title and change the color. So we can editor chair to dementia result. And we can change our color. It's make it red. And we can increase the size. How big we would like it. We can even add a drop shadow if we would like to. You can add a stroke to outline. And you can also add a background color. Can change their pestis. And then you can move the position using your x and y here, if you would like it at the bottom through and have a look at their heart and grow your YouTube channel. So it's really nice to have this screen recording to be able to go. So that's a simple way to add a really easy tattle into your video. Now, I want to show you how you can take your titles to the next level by downloading an amazing template from Inventor elements. Now if you want to have a look at these kinda titles, I'll leave a link for you in the description down below to have a look at. So I'm going to delete those tattle into the starch here. Here we have downloaded some of these titles that we can now use. Now you can see how much more dynamic these titles are. They really cool to have. You'll see reviews, this one in the course. And it's a really nice one to have. So let's use our cool amazing titles number 5 to Rican drag and drop that hidden to the inspector and editors. So we're going to call it to Vinci. And then the second word, resolve and editing. Now we can change the color if we would like to. We can change the size. We can change the trekking, we can change the position, everything here. And what we like to do is put a full color background was in the stands out. So go over to generate it, and we're going to choose a solid color in a drop in next to it and grab our title and taken up to video 3, crop the solid color underneath. And then we're going to change the color from black to a nascar. It go for a darker blue. So all it happens now is you will see our title comes in and you'll see the NASW dynamic movement is going to be our sample footage who are caused on how to embed YouTube videos inside. Now that's a quick and easy way to add titles into your Da Vinci. Resolve it at, in the next lesson, I'm going to show you how to add B-roll into YouTube videos. 13. How to Use the EDIT Page Davinci Resolve: In this lesson, we're going to show you how to edit your YouTube videos inside of the Vinci resolve so that you can edit, Foster, and create better YouTube videos that are going to get you more views. It's jumping saddle and choose all and start editing. So the first thing that we like to do on Edit Page is choose between our camera angles. So we shot list with two camera angles and our screen recording. So we have three options to choose between. So the first thing we need to do a few inspector is open. Click on the inspector so that it closes. It went on the left-hand side, change the source to multi-camera. And you'll see we've got camera 1, camera 2, and camera three, the screen recording. Now we're going to use the Blade tool, had to choose between which camera we would lack or you can use numbers. So one for camera 1, camera 2, and 3, 4 camera trip. So it's played throughout video and choose our camera angles. This is going to be our sample footage while course on how to edit YouTube videos inside of the Vinci Resolve and creating the sample footage that you have to download and work together with me to practice using the tips, tricks and techniques. And we're going to teach you with in this course. But if you change your camera angle and you're not happy with your choice, it's just commands it. Eric, does that. Check through on how to grow your YouTube channel. So it's really nice to have this screen recording to be able to go through and show people how we actually create some videos, how we optimize things. And if your audio has moved our child see, audio is shorter than our video. Two, we're going to lock our video line and just move that we are. Make sure you have the cursor with both bracket and you can just flatten along and fixed. They're actually unlock it before you continue. It sinks in the background of our YouTube channel. So I really like having edited one seat or carrying a screen recording a sync together so that you can jump onto this was pre recording and you can see exactly what I'm Cuba as our Q3 because it really cool thing about having two cameras is you can switch things up and start talking in a different way is key when you want to really emphasize that point, you can connect with the camera and then what? Camera. And then when you want to give it more relaxed and make it a bit more jovial in your videos. And you can connect with the second angle and that makes it really nice to be able to jump. Now if you knock this down, fuel actors Cook County or Taconic game, certainly going to lock that video. Was courtier, amaranth. And lockup. And feedback between the different angles can enter onto the screen recording and show them exactly what you are talking about now if you got value out of this course on how to edit your YouTube videos, insight into Vinci result completely free and you're going to love God caused on hyphal new YouTube videos so that you get the views at you deserve is only once at the end of the day is for you to be able to grow you, to have cutoff the start of that sentence there. So we're going to do is select the clips afterwards and move those out. And then we're going to zoom in and pull this out so that we can sue for audio and make sure it's just reverse for the audience and elected. And you want to go to the single bracket and slotted art until you can see the audio startling. And we're going to click in the space, hit backspace and that's going to shift everything back and across. Tickets, only ones in the middle is a YouTube, the object gray, you reach your goal, you influence online. So I really like the B-roll that we've added chat, but I wanted to come up with a talk about your lack of freedom. So let's select the PRO and the ocean sound effects that we have got. And I wanted to come in around about the cross and planetary 18 prevent nephew all the garnered a better area. So if today about a tomato, tomato blocking freedom and start creating a lot of freedom that we all deserve. And I really, really want you to TVs. If you enjoyed this video, make sure you hit the like button. And if he knew Shia, consider subscribing because we create new videos every single week, continue stores and buy a new chief. Thanks so much for watching and we'll see you in the next video. So we're going to cough into the songs. We're going to select the music and Hep-B for plate. And it's going to make a cut for us. And we can remove the song way. And let's add a short fade out. Phase our heads, we end the video. So we're going to select our music track, Corinthian spectra. We're going to select the keyframe. And you'll see it goes rid day that we hit the down arrow to go to the end, a lock-up, going to go one keyframe end and make sure the music track and still selected. We're going to slide the volume dominant and go down to around minus 70. And you'll see that intervention resolve. It actually shows you that a decrease in volume as a faint heart. Now, I'll second rounding it at page we're gonna go back to the start of our video. And now that we have chosen our clips, we're going to check that our cats are exactly where we want them to. We'll make minor tweaks tRNA, to moving the cut that we made. And while we're doing that, we're going to decide whether we want to zoom in CSMA or add a bit of movement into each frame while we meeting our video game. So let's go into our second round out and scroll to start. Now make sure while you in your edit page that you're saving your project on the time, we don't want you to lose any of your hard work. So the shortcut to save is just Command S, feed only the shortcut you can go File and Save Project. Let's go with her arm two is going to be our sample footage while cause. Now we're going to zoom in and enhance the edit YouTube video is inside our convention result on creating the song. That's how I wanted to switch where it is today. So we're going to scroll. I've acted to bracket and put back a bit perfect footage that you had files to download and to download and work together with me to practice using the tips, tricks and techniques that we're going to teach you with in this course. Non purposefully recording only two cameras. Camera one and camera t. That's a, that's a good translating. Unhappy that. Now you'll see as we go from Canada, wanted to have a look at color, how the two cameras have come out slightly differently. Okay, So now the shots look really different and need to fix this and the calibrating, which is going to happen in the next lessons. And make sure you stay tuned and watch the next lesson. We're going to show you how to set up your two different cameras as closely as possible. So it's a lot smoother when you do transition from one turn up, we've got a Sony actually shooting on, and the camera is actually shot on a Canon. So the color is slightly different. So we're going to have to do better work in the color grading inside intellectual block. Luckily, the venture zone is pretty good at that. And camera two and n equals 0 doing a screen recording or not. Now Screen Recording has these black bars on outside, so I want to zoom in to full frame. And then I'm going to scroll down a bit. And that's how I wanted to look into that because a lot of the time they believe is recreate my YouTube videos. So I want to change the zoom on the shop that Zuma number santa, or I'll activate with the rule of thirds. So we all know the profiles on the top floor. It's nice to have two different angles so that you can convert that to two different angles. That's where I will switch over to different angles so that you can change the angle and keep the audience interested. New video. And most of the time it's a tutorial and walk through on how to grow your YouTube channel. So it's really nice to have this screen recording to be able to go through and show people how we actually create some video is how we optimize things. The screen recording to go through. Show people how we actually create some videos, how we optimize things with analytics and the background of our YouTube channel. So I really like having edited once you are having the screen recording together so that we can jump onto the screen recording. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about as Q3 and feces really quick. The key thing about having two cameras is you can switch things at any store too. Intimidating black species are getting these little cuts on point of so important, if you don't take the time to make these minor adjustments, it just feels a bit often it doesn't feel right. So make sure that you take the terminator to make the smoke tweet. They do make a big difference to your video's performance, which the ligaments in the intracellular region. So we tried to emphasize a point here, so on and New Zealand and Canada with the camera. And then when you want to be a bit more relaxed and run it with the camera. And then when you want to be a bit more relaxed and make it a bit more jovial in your video is finished and connect to the second angle. And that makes it really has to be able to jump between the different angles and then go onto the screen recording and show you exactly what you're talking about. Now if you got value out of this, cook me right to my quick capture, even know we don't want to change the frame. We want to change how zoomed out to that. And if want to go back to the original or you do as head to the law. And under 500 and a push back from, you know, how what, how who was kept books. You've already not changing cameras, but still kept the other things that human law course on how to fill feels like two campaigns will leave a link for you in the description below this course so that you can check out our course and high full new YouTube videos so that you get the views and you deserve, because only once at the end of the day is for you to be able to grow your YouTube channel, glow you influence online so that you can start creating a lot of emphasize that when it comes to the normal, It's online so that you can start creating a lot of freedom that we all deserve and are really, really want you to team with. If you enjoyed this video, make sure you hit the log button. And if you're new here, consider subscribing because we create new videos every single week, open new stores and grow on YouTube. Thanks so much for watching and we'll see you in the next video. And that's how we do that. I'll need two videos inside of it, It's page in the next lesson, we're going to show you how to color grade, then individual clips and to make sure that we make into Iraq to experiment that I'll camera angles look like they were shot on the same camera and it's smooth flowing and I'll color is consistent through out. I'll edit. It's jumping to the next lesson. 14. How to use the Colour Tab Basics in DaVinci Resolve: In this lesson, we're going to show you the very basics of color grading individual clips and making sure it all fits together well inside your YouTube edit. Let's jump into the color page and kids started. So the first thing we're going to do is select our first clip that we want to calibrate. And we've already done the foundational unit, so there's not a lot that we need to do. And this is not an in-depth tutorial on calibrating and salad doesn't shoot result. They are entire courses created on just calibrate. This is just to get you started with the very basics. And we're going to make very, very minor changes here. So what I want to do is just add a little bit more emphasis and add a bit more to this image. So we're going to increase the contrast by dropping the left to get a bit more black in there. We're going to lift the game ever so slightly. And we're going to add a little bit of saturation too much. We are doctors pallets per little bit more and add a bit more into the shadows. You can see that that MOOC, I'm quite happy with those small little tweaks. Once we've made those changes, what are we going to do is we're going to select it and we're going to copy our settings, whether the shortcut command. And again to head to every single one that has a camera one. And we're going to paste those settings into camel all the way through our YouTube it so that all of those changes are applied all the way through. And then the color is going to be consistent on their camera one all the way through. Okay, Let's go to camera two. Now we want to try and match up chemistry as closely as we can to camera one, it was shot on a Canon and our main camera is Sony. Camera is slightly different, but we are going to be our best to make it look as close as possible. The left, the shadows, blacks, or quite hot lead to occur up those holler. You're going to increase the contrast and we're going to increase that, that ever so slightly. We're going to increase the exit and we're going to now corrupt that left a little bit, keep, keep some of that contrast. And that's about where we're going to get to this plane in through. So you can see the two next to each other. So you can't see is a bit of a difference, but we don't do too many changes. The more changes you do, you tend to go overboard and then make errors. So we're going to copy those settings and stem every single camera two. And then it's just our screen recording. Now there's not much that you only need to do to screen cooling. You may want to increase the contrast a little bit or left it or darken it a little bit. But I'm very happy with how this is looking. So short and simple color grading inside of the ventures. Or if you really want to go more than directing funded the specific course with someone who calibrate a way that you want your YouTube videos to look. A great way to learn more calibrating is on YouTube to see the creators that you enjoy watching, what kind of category rating on they doing, and how do they make the videos look? This is so much fun and it's really cool to go more in depth. But we've got the foundation now and that's going to help you start and grow your YouTube channel. And the next lesson we're going to go through some touch ups in your YouTube edit and then we'll be ready to export on YouTube they knew on the home straight, keep going. Review Your Edit and Add Tweaks: In this lesson, we're going to review our video edit to check if any tweaks or changes we want to make at the last minute before we export our YouTube video, touring and head back into the edit page. And we're going to play our video through and review and see if there are any tweaks or changes that we want to make. Let's jump on. And to our final review. This is going to be our soluble footage for our course on how to edit YouTube videos inside of Live. Oh, I'm creating this sample for insensibility. Add files to download and work together with me to practice using the tips, tricks and techniques that we're going to teach you within this course. Now purposefully recording this on two cameras. So we've got camera one and camera two and then also doing a screen recording on my computer. Because a lot of the time the video is that we create for our YouTube videos, it's nice to have two different angles so that you can change the angle and keep the audience interested in your video. Unless the top of that audio is the haulage rocket gone a little bit more and listen to check for an angle so that you can change the angle and keep the audience interested in new video much better. And much of the time it's a tutorial walkthrough on how to grow your YouTube channel. So it's really nasty. Have the screen recording to be able to go through and show people how we actually create our video is how we optimize things for the analytics and the background of our YouTube channel. So we don't need to say of our YouTube channel in the background. And the background scan, we can cut the AI to drag that in and drag that. And this is actually going to be pointless having it's so short. So we're going to remove space the background. So I really like having an added advantage of heavy cream and now we need a transition to smooth that either. So let's go with a polar dissolve things in the background. So I really like having an added advantage of having more screen recording. And we can go to audio transition and we can do a cross fade in the background. So I really like having edited what That's not include that background. So I really like having an added advantage of having the screen recording sync together so that he can jump onto the screen recording and you can see exactly what I'm talking about as the really cool thing about having two cameras is. So let's end it here. As a class. We're gonna show you how to use the plague to now we're going to select that and Plato, and that's going to cut it. Select that plane 2. And we're going to remove those two clips shifted up. And let's watch it through now. Key what I'm talking about, really cool thing about having two cameras is you can switch things up and that's really short again, so let's remove that and drag it out. Really cool thing about having two cameras is you can switch things up and start talking in a different way, especially when you want to read it. That is a little bit too tart, are going to come out and pull it back. Have a pretty good network through different way, especially when you want to really emphasize that point. You can connect with the camera and then when you want to be a bit more relaxed and thank you a bit more jovial in your videos. And you can connect through the second angle. And that makes it really nice to be able to jump between the different angles tending onto the screen recording and show them exactly what you are talking about. Export Videos in Davinci Resolve: In this lesson, we're going to show you how to export your YouTube video is from DaVinci Resolve. So they really unlocking good for YouTube. So let's head into the liver page. We're going to make sure that we have all of the clips selected in our edit, all audio clips and all the video clips. Once you're ready, you can hit into YouTube and you can select the dimensions that you want to use for your export. Most of our stuff is shorter, 1920 by 1080. Some of the stuff we shoot 4k ultra HD, and that's completely up to you and how you want to export your videos. We shot this video in 1080, so we're going to select that frame rate was 24 or 23.97. To be a bit more exact, the format that you want to choose, you can choose between QuickTime and mp4. We prefer to select Quick Time using the H.264 codec. And audio is just plus 1 on stereo and audio codec is AAC. And the datapath, then we just select same as project. And then we can select Add to Render Queue. What are due like to do when I'm exporting my YouTube videos and select this YouTube settings, make sure all of those settings are the same. Then go and customize it because I like to add in a new restrict value. So you don't want to go automatic for quality, It's going to decrease equality too much. We're going to restrict it. And we like to restricted to 30000 for our YouTube videos. Now this is completely up to you. I would recommend something between fifteen thousand and thirty thousand KBS. And that's just really up to your preference. The more you compress, the smaller the files will be, the easier your file management. We like to put out the highest possible quality, so we like to select 50000. Some people said cervical really lack the quality and the way that it looks when it is finished off with a knee limiting it to 50 thousand. Once you've selected that, you can go Add to Render Queue. It's going to ask you to name your file. You can choose where you want to save it. We save all videos onto our external Andra and in our project folder. And we're going to select Save, and you're going to see a new job is created. On the right-hand side, you export has not started rendering it. You need to select Render 0 on the right-hand side. Once you select that, it's going to start rendering. And it's going to let you know how much time is remaining until your video has finished rendering and exporting. Once it's finished exporting, it's going to be ready to be uploaded to YouTube. I still want you to watch it through one more time before you upload it to YouTube to check that the video has rendered properly and is ready for YouTube.
